Wife of Senior DOJ Official Demoted for Bias Worked for FusionGPS, the Firm Behind the Phony RUSSIA Dossier That Was Subsequently Used to Procure a FISA Warrant

By the way, the FBI and DOJ have not confirmed that the Steele Dossier was used to get the FISA warrant, but they continue refusing to answer that question, even when posed by Congressmen with oversight authority, so I'm taking that as proof positive the fake Steele Dossier was used to contrive the FISA warrant and get this whole covert op against a duly-elected president started.

And the demoted DOJ Assistant AG, Bruce Ohr (note: not the more famous demoted FBI agent revealed previously, Peter Strzok) just so happened to be married to a woman working for FusionGPS, which paid RUSSIAN soruces for dezinformationizya.

A senior Justice Department official demoted last week for concealing his meetings with the men behind the anti-Trump"“dossier" had even closer ties to Fusion GPS, the firm responsible for the incendiary document, than has been disclosed, Fox News has confirmed: The official's wife worked for Fusion GPS during the 2016 election.

Contacted by Fox News, investigators for the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) confirmed that Nellie H. Ohr, wife of the demoted official, Bruce G. Ohr, worked for the opposition research firm last year. The precise nature of Mrs. Ohr's duties-- including whether she worked on the dossier -- remains unclear but a review of her published works available online reveals Mrs. Ohr has written extensively on Russia-related subjects. HPSCI staff confirmed to Fox News that she was paid by Fusion GPS through the summer and fall of 2016.

Bruce Ohr was Associate Attorney General, with an office only four doors down from the AG. He himself met privately with both Glenn Simpson (founder of FusionGPS) and Christopher Steele (compiler of the fake dossier) and discussed the anti-Trump dossier and Simpson's frustrations that Trump had won the election. Congressional investigators say Ohr did not disclose those meetings with the DOJ.

See the video report at the link. It seems that the DOJ lied to Fox for the reasons for his demotion. When Fox asked the first time, they refused to answer. The second time Fox asked, the DOJ actually lied to the Fox (and thereby to the American public) claiming he was merely being reassigned because he shouldn't "wear two hats" and was being told to focus on his usual job of overseeing organized crime prosecutions.

That was a lie -- yet another lie from the DOJ.

He was demoted due to failure to disclose clear conflicts of interest.

Corrected: I originally said the DOJ lied twice about this. In fact, they only lied once; their first response was simply yet another refusal to respond at all.

Which isn't a lie -- it's just hiding the truth from the public.

Look at 66 and 49 for the description of that CNN link. Granted, CNN is fake news, and it is based on anonymous sources. But I take it they made this story thinking it was damaging to Trump, so you can trust it at least insofar as it is an admission against interest, when taken in retrospect.

Did you hear that Admiral Mike Rogers has been helping Trump with this all along cause I'm pretty sure that's the case.

Clapper tried to fire Rogers in November of last year, right after Rogers made an unannounced and unapproved visit to Trump's transition office.

The very next day with no warning, Trump moved his transition offices to his golf course in NJ.

This remains the greatest purpose of the Trump Administration: Expose the Great Washington Swindle. The one big happy family of crooks, doing everything for the Borg, with its tentacles deep into everyone, everywhere in that town. The biggest threat Trump poses is not the policy stuff, or even exposing Democrats. No, it's exposing the collusion of all.

The core of Mueller's mandate is "who hacked the DNC."

If he accepts the compounded hearsay conclusion of the "17 agencies" that it was the Russians, without doing any investigation of the quite plausible alternative theories that it was an inside job (e.g. a pissed-off BernieBot DNC staffer, or Debbie's Anwar) then his entire investigation is a sham.

If he never insists on looking at the DNS server, and making inquiries about it, then his entire investigation is a sham.

If he looks into DWS, how can he not find dirt on her?

I question whether going after MS-13 (a Trump directive, btw) excuses him from addressing a much more serious problem in DC, the loss of trust in our entire intelligence agencies and their probable wielding of their powers to spy on US citizens and pervert actual justice. I question why there are no grand juries empaneled and gathering testimony for indictments on the many many main actors in this shitshow.

365 So the timeline starts with Hillary's people getting hold of Jeb Bush's opposition research (which Bush commissioned from Fusion GPS), with the juiciest bits being provided later by a former British intelligence operative who supposedly got the information from shady Russian sources although it's just as likely the Brit made it up whole-cloth.

Fusion GPS then worked the material into a coherent Russian collusion narrative, finalized it, and disseminated it to members of the press either on Fusion GPS' payroll or who were ideologically sympathetic to its aims. The decision was made at some point after its media dissemination by the Obama DoJ to use this material as the basis for an investigation. It's a fair bet Bruce Ohr lobbied hard for using this material since wife probably wrote and assembled most of it.

The story goes on, of course, but it stands to reason all that follows from this whole investigation is fruit from the poisoned tree--unless impeachment of a president (presumably the end-goal) isn't bound by such legal strictures.

In any event, I'm guessing Trump isn't firing Mueller and ending this Machiavellian bullshit because Nixon fired Cox. No president wants a Nixonian association even if that president is in the right.

405 Impeachment isn't bound by any of the ordinary legal rules because it is purely a political trial, decided by political methods. And of course everyone knows that, which is why the Dems are so desperate to get an impeachment started - they still think they can win this, even after all that has happened.

the Roy Moore election is going to have a big impact, but not in the way that any of the Establishment mouthpieces (like allahpundit, even) think it will. If Moore wins, it means Trump is still strong with the grass roots, and the House Rep's will be too worried about what their grass roots voters will do, so they won't cross Trump.

If Moore loses, they may start thinking that Trump has lost his mojo, and maybe ally with the dems in taking him out. Everyone in DC hates Trump, it's just a matter of how scared they are at keeping their jobs.

I mean, yeah, they'd love to get revenge on the Republicans for Clinton, but that's not the plan here. They want to keep their party together and the money train rolling. If the suckers that are registered Democrat are ever not distracted long enough they'll figure out that they're hitched to a pack of losers who failed to fix an election spending over a billion dollars and have nothing to offer but annoyance to and entire nation.

If they ever do get the momentum and votes together for an impeachment, they still don't want to actually go through with it because it is 100% assumed to be political suicide. They just would want to go through enough motions to get Trump to resign. They are certain they can control or out-maneuver Pence, which is probably true.

on the WH SS detail. Here's a quote about the White House Christmas
party:

"Our host and hostess were very gracious and this is
the first time in almost ten years that the first family invited our
kids to the festivities." He goes on to note by name that Kelly and
McMaster were there along with "numerous first family members" and that,
"It took a second to realize that all of them (protectees of ours) were
there to thank the members of the Presidents Protective Detail and our
families."

I once saw a European news orifice characterize Jimmy Carter as "America's much beloved former President."

Maybe by Roslyn, but even Democrats hate his guts. Who was it in the Clinton Administration that called him a "treasonous prick?"

543 Is Mueller this stupid/arrogant to assemble a "team" full of people with no credibility to be independent, or is something else going on here?

Why not? The press didn't cover it. Congress didn't care. They figured it was a slam dunk to find something to nail Trump on so by the time the smoke cleared, nobody would care, nobody who matters.

And as I've pointed out before, these guys are not exactly the zenith of competence. They are Obama administration hold overs and promotions. They are the same batch that kept screwing up and looking stupid over and over again. The guys that were so bad in the justice department that they were found in contempt by a federal judge and ordered to take remedial classes by another. They had a horrendous track record in court.

551 Yeah yeah very late to this (out testing the bike, man it's like October except the sun is so low in the sky, dead quiet, bright sunny, low 80s), but .....

Though I admit I haven't kept track (aren't there highly paid people in the Beltway whose job it actually is to track this stuff?), but this marks the 3rd, 4th time "DOJ" - nominally headed by political appointees, including the AG - has lied to the public, or basically lied, and been far from the transparent public agency it absolutely has to be.

Not even counting the lies, er, "rolling explanations and disclosure" about Strzok over at Mueller's illegitimate counter-intelligence review and process crime factory.

Recall when Trump picked up the phone, and ordered DOJ to release the Uranium-1 informant from his non-disclosure agreement?

I just cannot believe "DOJ" is getting away with this, without major consequences. If I'm in the WH - or the Congress - I'm demanding heads roll, things change, and linking it to funding in appropriations. Now.

And I didn't things could get *more* surreal than they were in the Obama years.

553 With all the lying and covering up of sources when it is convenient to cover them up why automatically assume that Russians made the dossier stories up and fed them to Steele who then fed them to Fusion, McCain, and the FBI?

To me Steele was only there to provide a cover and lend an air of gravitas to the stories that formed the dossier. We only have his word that Russians provided the "stories." The reporting on where they came from always seems to end at Steele's word for where they came from.

They could just a well be "stories" invented by Fusion, some writer (a Ben Rhodes-ian character) hired by them or the Hillary campaign themselves. If the Hillary's (or Obama's) bunch then they would have hired Fusion to makeup a legend to make the "stories" sellable. Steele and his "Russians" being the legend.

564 One of my grandmothers got married when she was 13, and she had a very happy marriage, with many children. Of course, she wanted to marry, she was a rural girl, and that was a long time ago.

A woman needed a different level of education and a different set of skills to be a successful citizen, wife, and mother in those parts and in those days.

No, I don't know her age difference with my grandfather.

No, I wouldn't commend romance and marriage to any 13 year old girl in the U.S. today (nor in the 1970s, either).

Any older man who had tried to date my 13 year old daughter would have been cruising for a police record and/or a violent confrontation with me.

571 Trump Master Move:

Step 1 Make a speech. Say the FBI has had over a year to get to the bottom of the hack on the DNC. Ask for a report (say, in a week) on the progress they have made on who was responsible. Specify you'd like it to square up with the report in the Nation that it was an internal job.

Step 2 receive a hack shit job from the FBI, because, basically, they have done nothing here, not even look at the DNC server.

Step 3 - Say, well, this is simply unacceptable. You've had more than a year to get to the bottom of this critical element of the investigation, and instead seem to be focusing on other crap.

Step 4 - at that point you can fire Mueller for incompetence - say his investigations seems to be of multiple things not associated with the question at hand - Russian interference in the election. His indictments to date seem to involve things largely un associated with the Trump campaign or Trump himself (Kelly is the only guy charged with anything campaign related, and that seems to be he wasn't completely truthful with the FBI).

Step 5 - alternative - redirect Mueller in his investigation - say basically until and unless we get to the bottom of the original charge, nothing else much matters. Give him a hard deadline, maybe a month, to wrap it up. If a Russian hack can't be proven, then there was never any reason for the special prosecutor, and his work is done.

573 Oh, and step 6, appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Mueller and the FBI on their handling of this case, as well as Comey, Rosenstien, and the Hillary server. Say, in effect, "there has been a serious effort to pervert justice here. I've been patient, and tolerant, but enough is enough."

Instruct the persecutor that you don't care about charges, criminal mischief, you just want the truth.
