"I am excited that the Mugabe dictatorial era has come to an end," said George Makoni, 37, a media advocacy officer at a non-governmental organization. I've found some but not enough yet.
I do not have a recipe really. I cover them (barely) with water and boil until soft. Reserve the stock.
Add some cream and butter. A Tbsp of flour or so to thicken the sauce.
Put onions in shallow casserole --- I use a 9x11 pyrex---and cover with sauce. Then cover with saltine cracker crumbs. Drizzle with melted butter. Bake 30-45 min until browned. (Time depends on oven temp, which may depend on whatever else you're cooking at the same time!)
There is a very similar dish on Allrecipes dot com that will have more precise directions.

Funny, flounder. I've been eating a lot of squashes and zucchini lately though, when done right is fabulous. Baked a lovely butternut the other day!
I've been on a kick of replacing noodles with squash over the past few months. Splurge the saved calories on really good ingredients like cheese and butter, makes it light and flavorful. The trick is to cook or salt the squash enough that you get all the water out. Once you do that it tastes fabulous. Watery zucchini squash lasagna, for example, is bleh. To fix that I salt the slices of zucchini and grill them before I layer the lasagna.

There's a reason early 20th-century US culture made fun of the Hatfields and McCoys and their multi-generational feuds. It was a way to show that We Don't Do That Anymore, to help the immigrants understand it and leave the old grudges back home.
Now we've got people carrying on feuds against people whose ancestors weren't even in the country at the time of the supposed offense. And they're the supposedly sophisticated "woke" people.

Certain people like to include it because they can then lay claim to their greater civilized behavior and cultures but they are not the same population as the rest of Africa.
Just as some people go to South Africa and declare they've come home when the number of people taken as slaves from Southern Africa is a small part of the total number of slaves taken from the rest of Africa. But South Africa is more civilized than the more tribal areas to the north. If the Western companies that exploit those countries now were to withdraw, you'd see a rapid descent into tribalism like the surrounding countries already are.
It's the civilizing influence of having to behave so that they can attract Western (and Chinese) money to them that causes them to be more "Civilized" than their brethren.

Zimbabwe is the successor state to Southern Rhodesia.
Northern Rhodesia was actually a separate country, and after declaring itself independent (in '64, I believe) changed its name to Zambia.

Read an article about a year ago that made the case that anywhere Islam goes they become the primary religion culturally. B/c violence and intolerance work.
Therefore, they are the fastest growing religion, and, even if not the primary religion, they sublimate or force the culture to capitulate to them b/c people fear the violence. I didn't research the claims, but watching EU, and hearing about India, it appears to be true.
Which is why I fear for the US. B/c logic and intelligence have flown and stupid rules the day. I don't expect our leaders to be any better than Europe. They already have a greater hold in the US then people realize. B/c the media does not report.

Allred refuses to hand it over until a Senate committee initiates a hearing into Nelson's accusation. She knows that isn't going to happen, so she keeps the yearbook from being examined and exposed as the fraud it is, and she keeps smearing Moore.
So sick of this bullshit of smearing people and then later, when it's too late, saying "oops, we were wrong" or "hey, so what, it worked" (a la Harry Reid).

I gave a talk at a scientific meeting in South Africa. Didn't see much of Johannesburg (no time), but enjoyed the meeting, and afterwards rented a car and drove through the Kruger National Park. (You have to drive through, and cannot get out of the car.) It was amazing.
Also amazing was the hardware that whites going into the park had to check in. They were armed to the teeth, to protect themselves from the blacks attacking whites.
Put me in mind of the scene from "I'm Gonna Get You Sucka," (except played in reverse) where the protagonists are arming themselves.

It's weird to watch it play out, after all the books and movies that warned us about it.
Technology has only advanced the speed of the end game.
It's bleak. Only a new, economic nationalist party here will prevent it...and that's a maybe. Most of Europe is done for. The Visegard and Nordic countries have a chance still...maybe. And historians liken it all to the fall of Rome, only differing on what year a war will occur.
The ME countries will have a role. Us, I hope not, but many fear Europe is counting on us to save them a 3rd time if war occurs. However, it is possible that so many Islamic leaders will be voted in, as the immigrant population explodes...well...war may be futile.

Although who knows? To me yearbooks were no big deal. I really didn't give a shit about them and wouldn't have taken it with me anywhere. But for some people maybe they carried it around with them to get as many people to sign, even those at work?
But the December thing is just a huge red flag. In order to have a yearbook ready in December, it would have to be ready to go to the printers in November. Which means it would have content for 2 months of the school year.
It makes zero sense and if I were the Moore team I'd look into the time line. It should be easy enough to find out when yearbooks that year were made.

In fact it wasn't until more modern agricultural processes and knowledge began to take hold in Europe that European culture began to burgeon. (along with it's population)
Plus the advantage of having fewer competitors on the land with a yearly die off of microbial activity made Europe and other northern countries more and more conducive to higher learning, science and technology.
Once Africa organizes enough to tame the environment (if the greens let it happen) it will become the next locus of Empire. This will be after the Chinese or some other Asian country assumes it's role as the leading center of power on the Earth. This, of course, will be many years in the future.
Perhaps by then we will have escaped this gravity well and homo sapiens point failure locus and be spread across the Solar System.
Wish I could be there to see it.

It's possible the yearbook doesn't even belong to the accuser.
Notice that the accuser's name does not appear anywhere in the inscription. Moore may have signed it for somebody else. And we haven't seen anything except the one page. Allred refuses to release the entire book.
We only have the accuser's word that it's her yearbook, and we already know she's a liar. She said she'd had no contact with Moore after the alleged assault. Yet he was the judge in her divorce in 1999.

And they built the infrastructure, created a common language so that everyone could talk to anyone else, a common law that applied (mostly) to all, a common stable currency which is a requirement for trade both in country and world wise. And all sorts of other things that could have evolved eventually but were superposed on the area by reason of force.
Thus it was a foreign distortion of the normal evolution of Africa and the Africans in that area.
That it flexed in odd ways is to be expected. What was criminal was allowing this murderer and thief to stay in power for so long. Another distortion imposed from the outside.
Perhaps if outsiders would stop f**king with Africa they could eventually become nations to be proud of.

The money that comes in is taken by the goons in charge and used to prop up the regimes. That's been going on for some time. Your claim that they had no contact is not substantiated by any evidence. In fact there is some to indicate that individual travelers explored and influences many of the tribes and nations in the western hemisphere.
They surely at least knew of the Egyptian pyramids and may have had manuscripts describing them.
To say unequivocally that there was no contact is true in that they may not have had contact with Egyptians but other contact could have provided the seed of an idea.

First, Africa was only colonized in the latter part of the nineteenth century. So from Adam and Eve until then they had every opportunity to create nations they could be proud of. Recall Stanley and Livingstone; the "dark continent" was terra incognita to Europe for centuries after Europe had seen the Greeks, the Romans, etc., the Arabs had created their own cultures, and the Chinese and Japanese had created their own, with their own literature, science, architecture, philosophy, etc. Africa, not so much.
Second, the influence of "outsiders" - i.e., the colonial powers - was if anything beneficial. The former British colonies are the pick of the litter, followed by the French. Yeah, the Portuguese and Spanish colonies drew the short straw, but still, they were no worse off than before colonization.
Third, Africa has been independent now for over half a century, and has done ... bupkis. Even formerly prosperous countries - Rhodesia and South Africa - are now struggling under black rule. Consider that in same time - half a century (from 1858 to 1905) - Japan went from a feudal society to a world power with a modern army and navy that kicked a European power's ass. They didn't need any "help" at all.

The Egyptians worried about invasions from the "Labu" to the west. So the Bronze Age Libyans had a society strong enough to threaten the delta. (Like the Nubians at the time.) But the Libyans weren't Sea Peoples; they were able to take the coastal road by land, and maybe hit the big oases like Fayyum.
So on balance the Sea Peoples could only have come from, duh, the sealands: the Aegean mostly, possibly Sicily and Sardinia too if we follow Robert Drews (the Nuragic cultures).

First, Africa was only colonized in the latter part of the nineteenth century. So from Adam and Eve until then they had every opportunity to create nations they could be proud of. Recall Stanley and Livingstone; the "dark continent" was terra incognita to Europe for centuries after Europe had seen the Greeks, the Romans, etc., the Arabs had created their own cultures, and the Chinese and Japanese had created their own, with their own literature, science, architecture, philosophy, etc. Africa, not so much.
Second, the influence of "outsiders" - i.e., the colonial powers - was if anything beneficial. The former British colonies are the pick of the litter, followed by the French. Yeah, the Portuguese and Spanish colonies drew the short straw, but still, they were no worse off than before colonization.
Third, Africa has been independent now for over half a century, and has done ... bupkis. Even formerly prosperous countries - Rhodesia and South Africa - are now struggling under black rule. Consider that in same time - half a century (from 1858 to 1905) - Japan went from a feudal society to a world power with a modern army and navy that kicked a European power's ass. They didn't need any "help" at all.

Again though it's really the tribalism that is the problem. Europe didn't get very far at all until they started stamping that out and moved on to kingdoms and then nation states. I imagine eventually they will move beyond it, but when it happens is anyone's guess. It could be in fifty years or five hundred. They've got a lot of problems other places didn't have to deal with (ISLAM) and resources a lot of the rest of the world wants and will do anything to get (CHINA).
They'll get there eventually. Every dog has its day as they say. I'm also optimistic even Islam will eventually undergo a reformation of the type other religions have gone through. Again, it could be in fifty years or five hundred. I doubt we'll live to see it, but it's likely to happen.
Japan definitely did have some foreign influence to kick start their modernization. For example, their military received western training and weapons which they used to destroy the old shogun order.
Interesting thing I read about Japan is that Christianity had a really hard time catching on there because the Japanese couldn't understand how anyone could worship a convicted criminal. Not really germane to the topic but interesting nonetheless.

That probably plays a part but I think its mostly just that they live in equatorial tropical regions mostly and there's just no reason to do anything except live there. You have plentiful food, water, its never awfully cold. There's no pressure to be more than you are. No tight resources, no hostile environment. So why try?

They shouldn't even be here. We've let in almost 100 million people since 1965 and it's probably more than that. The population of this country was 250 million when I was a senior in high school in 1989. It's now 325 million. It's ridiculous and it's been causing huge fucking problems for years. The rate of immigration legal and illegal should be zero and it should be zero for at least 100 years if not longer. We're already fucked as it is though.
Better they stay where they are and improve their own countries. Those countries need them more than we need them to write code or run hotels or whatever they're doing.

There is nothing at all wrong with a smart immigration plan that benefits this country. I sure am glad we took in a bunch of German scientists to help us run our nuclear program instead of them staying home and applying their craft there. The key is to have a smart immigration plan and not just throw the doors open to everyone.

I spent the better part of a day reading about the situation that led up to that incident and it's just all around horrifying. The Hutus had something called the Hutu Power Movement and it was about as racist as something you'd see in a KKK charter. They had radio stations pumping this stuff out and even popular musicians making albums filled with this kill the Tutsi garbage.
All of this stuff was going on even before the plane with the leaders got shot down. That was just the spark that set it off. It was going to happen eventually no matter what.
That radio station had a couple of Europeans working there as well and yep they were on air personalities also pushing the genocide. One of the saddest situations was a Catholic priest who helped participate in the genocide. It's just all around lunatic stuff.

Many people don't seem to know that Native American tribes warred among themselves. The facepaint was not developed b/c of whites. People seem to have the idea they were a peace loving people who lived in some kind of Utopia. Yet pretty sure women were chattel, and warring was not uncommon. My memory may be faulty.
What we did was not right. We did not deal with them fairly. But they were also savage toward innocent people.
Somehow students are not being taught the whole picture. And seem to think America is the only country who has sinned. It's like saying all people have to be without sin. It's ridiculous. We at least have tried to make amends. Many countries don't. The SJWs are screaming about everything and nothing will appease them, IMO.

A nice apologia, but it doesn't wash. First, they could have repaired the roads, but didn't. They didn't have to build them, just keep the existing ones in good repair. Who build the roads for the Romans?
Second, you don't need animals to pull wheeled vehicles. See, e.g., rickshaws. Who pulled the stones that became the pyramids? People. How did they do it? With wheels (cylindrical rolling stock).
