Washington Post: NPR Leaders Were Aware of Four Other Sexual Harassment Complaints About Its News Director; Chose to Ignore Them

Of course.

The left-wing Washington Post reports that NPR “leaders were aware of at least four complaints against” Michael Oreskes, NPR’s top editor, prior to his resignation last week after two allegations went public. With charges of a cover-up floating about, NPR chief Jarl Mohn has taken a four-week leave for what he says are medical reasons.

The brewing NPR scandal comes down to the left-wing news outlet’s decision to keep Oreskes on, even though top management knew of four harassment allegations against him, according to the Post.

To make matters worse, the Post reports that in just the last ten days, five more NPR staffers claim to have been harassed by Oreskes.

That's been known for years that she is in that weirdo cult NXVIM which is funded by two Seagrams heiresses. The sex and branding stuff is new and really disturbing. 91 Liberals live in such a hermetically sealed bubble that they only ever interact with other liberals.

So when liberalism invents the concept of "Rape Culture" in order to accuse all right-wing males of being rapists, the goal was of course for liberal chicks to start accusing conservative dudes of harassing them.

Ooooops. Turns out there was a flaw in the plan. Liberals chicks never work with, see, meet or speak with conservative dudes, who live in a different sociocultural bubble.

So the unintended result is that liberal chicks have to accuse liberal dudes, since those are the only dudes they have access to.

And the karma wheel keeps on a-turnin'.

The prosecutor will go for a year, the defense attorney will counter with a pre-trial diversion, 3 months of probation, and 20 hours of community service, and they'll land on a nolle pros if he does 40 hours of community service and doesn't get arrested again for 6 months.

That's how these things always go.

I think it's more than that. I think it started as a way for liberal men to deflect the rape accusations away from themselves.

I also think that liberal women truly believe there is a "rape culture" because liberal men see themselves as such perfect models of decency and whatnot that they really do go around acting rapey. And besides, since EVERYONE does it, why not get in on it?

It all ignores the fact that it seems to be that the only consistently rapey ones are liberal men.

133 The Washington Post is imminently planning to run a piece targeting Judge Roy Moore claiming that he engaged in inappropriate conduct with four teenage girls thirty-four years ago.
The alleged incidents, all strongly denied by Moore, were said to have taken place between 1977 and 1982. Breitbart News obtained details of the forthcoming Post story from the newspapers letter detailing the allegations sent to Moores campaign for comment.

These allegations are completely false and are a desperate political attack by the National Democrat Party and the Washington Post on this campaign, Moore said in a statement obtained by Breitbart News.

Separately, Moores campaign said in a statement: This garbage is the very definition of fake news and intentional defamation.

The campaign pointed out that Moore has been married to his wife, Kayla, for nearly 33 years, has 4 children, and 5 grandchildren. It also noted that Moore has served in public office in the past and that no such allegations were previously made.

Speaking of "zombie sighting" -- I recently had to take a factory tour as part of a job, and during the tour the company owners had hired a professional photographer to document the proceedings (why they needed to document a factory tour is beyond me).

I tried to hide from the cameraman whenever I saw him taking a picture, but even so, afterward I asked him not to upload any pictures of me to the Internet, as I really didn't want to have my photo online. He agreed.

Well, just this morning I get an email from the factory owner (that he sent out to everyone) saying "Hey! The photos from the tour are now online!" and YUP, there were pictures on me in there.

On the Internet.

Fuck.

(In case you didn't know, long ago I removed all images of myself from the Internet.)

Luckily, I am not named or "tagged" in any of the photos, but it still pissed me off royally.

249 >>So we can defund PBS and NOT kill Big Bird? Damn!

Sesame Street and the spinoff characters were/are a cash cow. I don't know how that agreement was structured, but I can only imagine how much money is made off of the videos, licensing of characters on every dang kiddie thing. Always annoyed me that they would cry foul about defunding Big Bird when they could have funded the entire operation off of the Sesame Street money if they had not allowed the creators of Sesame Street to retain ownership of all the content and characters.

But that's how people get rich off of PBS - some separate company produces the shows, owns the content, and then they sell it to PBS. That's how Bill Moyers got so rich, he produced and owned his show - which PBS bankrolled - so he got all video profits, not PBS.

Our local kollidge NPR outlet plays straight-ahead jazz and even has a blues show every Saturday night. Plus, very few commercials. All my musician buddies listen to it. It's the only station in town where you can hear a bass or drum solo. I turn off the NPR news for 5 minutes at the top of the hour.

It's the only station I ever listen to. And they stream it on that Intarwebz thingy, too.

284 the Corporation for Public Broadcasting which brought us NPR and all its various cousins was created in the 1960s because people rightly recognized that the airwaves were full of crap and they wanted some high falutin' educational stuff out there as well. Its why we got Sesame Street, to teach kids instead of just showing them cowboy shows and cartoons.

The principles behind it were noble enough, if difficult (to say the least) to defend constitutionally. They had a nice list of reasons for the CPB to be created, to fill a gap, until it wasn't needed any more.

But the problem is, if you look at the list of reasons for the CPB to exist, every single one of them has been fulfilled and exceeded. By several magnitudes.

Part of its charter commands the CPB to avoid any bias whatsoever and to be perfectly and constantly balanced but they abandoned that pretty much at the get-go.

Its unconstitutional, expensive, pointless, even by the CPB's own admission it gets a small part of its funding from the government, and has violated its charter for nearly its entire existence. How many more reasons do they need to get rid of the funding?

A ruptured aorta is not a heart attack.

It is either the partial or complete breakdown of the aortic wall usually due to wither an aneurysm or trauma in either the chest or abdominal cavities.

Small leaks are survivable and generally quite fixable, large ones almost never are, and require catastrophe grade emergency surgery and would have been off work for many weeks.

344 Taylor, do more homework. NPR was a gift to Bill Moyers for the atom-bomb ad.

Radio stations used to have a basic commitment to a variety of programming. Many big city stations even had their own classical music departments, and covered their own symphony concerts. That's where Karl Haas came from. Not that Karl Haas, the other one. No, the other one.

When LBJ's backers who owned [what were then] big radio stations wanted to abandon that for the cash cow of single-format programming, schoolteacher types squawked that we were Losing All That.

NPR, the Nation's High School Newspaper, was the central-planning result.
My local station, outside news hours, is also still excellent, with crunchy sandal types and weird old jazz buffs. They do a hell of a job, especially with the "disk jockey" vanishing from the rest of the broadcast world. The explosion of news time and mandatory DC commentary came early in the Clinton years, and was the subject of much controversy. Conservatives finally concluded, who the hell cares. Like the colleges, you might say.

378 Think of that stupid Progressive commercial with that dipshit Flo thrust into the '50's, wearing an ugly dress, and being told she couldn't eat or talk about finances.

Yeah its one of those lies the left loves to tell themselves. Victorian England is portrayed as this ghastly oppressive sexual perversion fest of women being crushed and silenced but... in reality, that wasn't the case. There were some sectors of society that way... not many... but they also heavily restricted what men could do as well (super rich upper crust/nobility). Actual books and stories written at the time by women about female characters tell a very different story.

Its like if you actually listen to radio shows from the 40s-60s you get a totally different perspective from what we're told they were like. Indians, for example, were very rarely portrayed as stupid, evil savages, but usually were very nuanced, often victims of evil white men, and generally were decent as anyone else on the show.

Its one of the worst lies of the academic left to portray everything before they came into power as a time of monstrous horror and oppression. Just look at how they're trying to act like things were before Obamacare, which was put into power just 3 freaking years ago.

I would like to think that the R's really LIKE OCare but I'm a bit more suspicious that they dislike PDT more than they dislike OCare...so they keep it around to abuse when needed. Meanwhile the clock can run out on their ability to do anything about anything. Gridlock is coming.

405 Michael McKean's tweet makes more sense when you realize it's always been this way. For whatever reason Hollywood attracts them the way "wrestling coach" attracts pedos.

Since ancient Rome, actors have always been considered disreputable and immoral - up until the passage of the Hays Act, which forced 1920's Hollywood to clean up its' act, at least in public. Everyone was still fucking around, but, with the exceptions of a few like Errol Flynn, they were discreet. And they became active in politics in the 1930's, but again, for the most part, kept it out of their films and public statements.

At least the stars were patriotic in WWII. It wasn't until the damned '60's that they started thinking the world needed their political guidance.

How long until that guy gets hit with sexual harassment accusations? He has a serious creep vibe to him.

As creepy as that SOB is, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if his victims would have been too young to remember.

Like the Frugal Gourmet. Same vibe; no, worse.

Posted by: LASue at November 09, 2017 01:37 PM (hZ+us)

Remember in the later seasons that little twink of a guy showed up on the show and was "helping" the Frugal Gourmet....traveling the world and sampling cuisine with him. Lasted maybe one season once that guy showed up... followed by reports of improprieties at the local orphanage about "helping young kids learn the culinary arts". Today's lesson how to smoke a sausage.
True story.

I bid you peace....Yeah a piece of my d1ck.!

409 Friends went to the one-man John Cleese show last year. I manufactured some reason I wasn't available. So sad. It's even more painful when the performer is clearly intelligent, unlike most of the performers who can't keep their mouth shut in sharing their ignorance and bigotry.

But comedy was one of the first casualties of the Great Dumbing Down of our society and civic culture. In the UK a slightely different story, with a similar result.

I currently get five days of sick leave per year. It used to be a little more, but that job is over.
