I mean, they let gays live, and let Arabs vote, and even allow churches and mosques. And worst of all, they have plenty of food, and free speech too! I can see why the world wants to fling poo at them. Israeli Judo Champion Wins Gold In Abu Dhabi, Which Won't Acknowledge Israel. So He Sings Israeli National Anthem Himself. When Tal Flicker, the Israeli judo champion, won the gold medal in Abu Dhabi, which refused to play the Israeli national anthem or display the flag of Israel, and played the theme of the International Judo Federation instead, he decided he would protest in the only way left to him: he quietly sang the Israeli national anthem himself. Those of you who have been to Israel understand that the most fervent desire of most Israelis is to have a good life; peaceful and productive and interesting. The idea that Israel fixates on the "Palestinian problem" is laughable. What they want is security and peace. That the world not only does not recognize this, but actively pursues policies that marginalize a vibrant pluralistic democracy, simply because it is Jewish, makes a mockery of the platitudes often spoken about the Holocaust. France Is Running Out of Butter for Its Croissants The issue is purely French and is related to the fact that there’s a price war raging between French retailers,” Thierry Roquefeuil, chairman of the milk-producers’ federation FNPL, said in a phone interview from his farm near Figeac, in Southwestern France. “French retailers refuse to increase prices, even by few cents, even for butter. Dairy producers see that there’s an outside demand at higher prices so they sell abroad, and rightfully so. Hamas Terrorists Killed By Bad Hummus With Stale Pita And Lots Of C4...But Mostly Lots Of C4 Israel Blows Up Terror Tunnel, Kills Terrorists And where did these terror tunnels often originate? Come on...you can guess. On Sunday, Israel’s U.N. Ambassador Danny Danon announced that there was a tunnel underneath a Gaza school run by the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees. He accused Hamas of using UNRWA facilities as “terror bases” and Gazan children as “human shields,” adding, “Yet another terror tunnel under an UNRWA schoolyard. This is what Hamas rule looks like and this is more proof of the double war crime committed as terror tunnels are built to attack Israelis, while using the children of Gaza as human shields.” Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

Israel makes Arabs feel bad because even persecuted and stomped on around the world, having their homeland wiped out by Romans, and horribly murdered by the holocaust, Jews still eclipse the Arabic contribution to humanity by about 100:1. So French grocers won't raise the price of butter, so the dairies are selling to foreign markets.
There's a bit missing there -- the French grocers aren't willing to pay more for butter, apparently. In most of the US, grocers sell milk and eggs at a loss. The won't raise the sale price (to remain competitive), but they do pay the dairies enough to stay in business and to maintain the domestic market. The British in WWI spent months digging tunnels under one Hun series of defenses that were perched on an escarpment. The day arrived and *boom* a large chunk of the higher ground collapsed. Did Britain get hit by the same crop failures? It is interesting that droughts and such in capitalist societies did to cause temporary pain and in socialist societies they cause massive devastation.
Pre-Revolutionary France wasn't IIRC really socialist, but it did have a lot of ridiculous taxes and internal customs fees and duties. Things like trade barriers and tariffs and diversity of produce play role, too. But like I said, supply and demand. If there is literally not near enough food for everyone, that is a very serious problem. (Yes, imports, but those take time, and we're hungry now.) It is a relatively free market. But my point is that the French grocers do not recognize market forces and are simply refusing to buy a product their customers want. If it were a closed system they might have some pricing power, but the market for butter is essentially the entire world, so the producers can simply shift to foreign markets that are willing to pay market price. "I would think that refrigeration and modern food storage techniques and technology are bigger helps than the economic system after a certain point."
I read some about a famine in the late Roman Empire (right after Constantine). Five, six years of drought in Syria. Antioch needs food, but there's none around. Most food is consumed with 1 day's journey of where it's grown -- and that's about 15 miles. Over land, it takes 6 days to move freight 100 miles. Arranging for shipments from over seas -- but still within the empire's borders -- took most of a year. So transportation helps, a lot. Communication helps. A legit role of any nation state would be national defense ... and stable food supply (we have stable, safe, broad choice). Trade across borders IF it benefits the home country, and IF the trade partner is not an enemy.
"Free Market" concepts within borders has merits, but government oversight CAN be useful, and/or essential. Nation-states exist for good reason ... the "globalists" prefer to turn us all into consumer units that but what they can conveniently package in commie places with slaves and pollution and no labor laws. Foreign mystery fish with mystery injections or drug treatments, or just the drugs themselves ... even Boeing is now outsourcing bits and pieces. Globalists have a new world order plan to eliminate the problems we dissenters cause. Maintaining borders/language/culture will be a fight. Someone asked for a good white chili recipe on the last thread.
Here's a great one instead: naturalfake's White Chili 2 largish onions 1 orange bell pepper 6 cloves of garlic 3 lbs of skinless, boneless thigh meat cut into roughly inch pieces 1 can of cannellini beans 1 can of great northern beans 1 can of golden hominy 3/4 16 oz jar of Frontera Salsa Tomatillo 1 can of El Paso Chopped Green Chilies 1 tbs cumin 1.5 tsp ground coriander 1 tsp ancho chili powder Salt and pepper to taste Saute onions, garlic, and bell pepper till just starting to go soft in oven proof pot. Add everything else (use liquid in bean cans, dump out liquid in hominy can). Stir at this point the chili will be somewhat thick. Don't worry water will come out of the ingredients as they cook and leave you with a consistency like a thick soup. If you're worried or it's too thick at the start use chicken stock to the consistency you like. Cook at 220 for 4-5 hours, raise temp to 230 for the last hour. (you can cook longer if you like) Should work fine in a slow cooker. Serve with sour cream and fresh chopped cilantro. You're welcome! Posted by: naturalfake at October 31, 2017 12:05 PM (NyJwR) 164

- Didja sed this? Associated Press Associated PressOctober 31, 2017 FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - Police in Florida say a daughter suspected her mother's live-in partner was having an affair, so she looked at files under his profile in their shared household computer. Instead of another woman, the daughter found pictures and video of herself - naked and undressing in the privacy of her bedroom and bathroom. The SunSentinel reports that investigators eventually found more than 2,500 images taken by two cameras - one concealed in a wall socket in her bedroom, and another in an AC adapter in the shared bathroom. Sunrise police say 48-year-old Matthew Bordeaux, who has lived with the mother and daughter "as a family" for seven years, was jailed on charges of video voyeurism. Well, Florida. There have reportedly been a number of mysterious collapses of Palestinian infiltration tunnels in the last few years. Given that the Palis divert to tunnel construction the concrete and steel given to them for building construction, I don't think bad construction or bad luck are reasons.
I also doubt the Israelis are blowing the tunnels with C4. It's probably something else designed for the specific purpose. Posted by: Semi-Literate Thug at October 31, 2017 12:33 PM (UIIdr) 317

Hello, CB OT-I posted this yesterday but it was on an old thread and I don't think you saw it. Why are you upset with your pastor, if I may ask? Posted by: FenelonSpoke at October 31, 2017 12:47 PM (iVOAv) Hi Fen, At the risk of getting willowed, he was a complete, total asshole to some workers who were setting up bounce houses for our big shindig tonight which is supposed to be an alternate to Halloween, but really isn't. He went out there and started throwing his weight around by saying he's the pastor, then just ripped into those guys for, in my opinion, nothing. He accused them of putting ruts in the soccer fields, which "we've paid thousands and thousands to make nice" when all they did was smush the grass where they drove their trucks. No biggie...I looked. He then proceeded to call them names: "stupid" and "idiot" are two that I know of. It was embarrassing and infuriating. After he left, I was ordered to go take pics of the "ruts" so when I did I profusely apologized to the guys involved. They said no problem, but no, there was no excuse. One guy even said "the worst part was when he said he was the pastor." The guy completely ruined our testimony to them and all the people they're gonna tell. Pastor has a history of doing this, and it's just another example of the hypocrisy that is that church. I want no part of them other than a paycheck. I heartily support anyone wrecking soccer fields. A-hole soccer players routinely play in grass baseball outfields, which they ruin because there are so many guys running in the same places, i.e., in front of the goals. They play on the baseball fields, despite having adjacent artificial turf soccer fields, because they claim the artificial turf (which is perfectly fine; some baseball fields here have it) hurts their precious little toes. Posted by: FenelonSpoke at October 31, 2017 01:06 PM (iVOAv) I know we're all sinners and have our moments, but this guy just goes completely over the cliff. There's just no excuse for a pastor to act like he does when things aren't going exactly as he thinks. None whatsoever, sorry. And this is one of those churches where you don't just have "someone speak to him about it." Any hint of not being totally on board more often than not will find oneself booted out. Supposedly the elders are a check on him, but they're all in his pocket. One elder once asked to see the books, and he was flat out told no. Shortly thereafter, it was suggested to him that he "move on." I'm gonna look at the new elders list, but at this point I don't trust anyone in authority there, and I can't afford to lose my job right now. Lets just say that next year's budget is going to be much less. They aren't getting the ratings they'd hoped for. Not even close.
I was reading somewhere that based on the show's budget, and the cost of the app, they'd need a *lot* of subscribers to break even. Posted by: FenelonSpoke at October 31, 2017 01:16 PM (iVOAv) This is a nondenominational church. He runs the show. He's not leaving until he's good and ready. There's a rumor he may retire after our newest kids building is built next summer, but who knows. I also think he won't leave until he has ALL the elders in his pocket to nominate his son to be the next pastor. So far he's tried twice to get his son appointed, but the elders have shot him down both times. That's the only time I know of where they've stood up to him. But each year the elders change, and imho he's just trying to wait them out 'til he gets his way. Yeah, I'm a bit cynical about this place. I wouldn't be here if I had any other reasonable option. I'm not sure anyone has tested a kinetic weapon for real to see how
powerful they are. Its all theoretical and small scale modeling at this point. The idea came from a small SMOD impact in South America; a meteorite struck at orbital velocities and caused a large amount of damage for its small size. While trying to figure out why such a small meteor could 1.) survive passage through the atmosphere and 2.) strike the ground at such a high velocity - the Rod from God idea was the only theory that solved the problem. So yeah, God has actually tested it, and it works. Posted by: Clearly at October 31, 2017 01:25 PM (6xPsz) 577
@530 Never reading "Catcher" is a generational statement, not a taste thing.
Most people who read it didn't happen by a bookstore shelf one afternoon. You're missing the secret of ultimate success in kid-lit: You don't give them a choice whether to read your book or not. You get bad lit teachers to assign bad lit to (mostly bad) students. This may make them hate literature for a lifetime, and constantly make war on humanities majors. But by god it sells paperbacks. I think there may be special agent points if the author has already offed himself. Posted by: Stringer Davis at October 31, 2017 01:25 PM (H5rtT) 578
