DOJ Releases Informant from Confidentiality Agreement; He May Now Testify About Nuclear Bribes, and How He Was Shut Up by Obama and Obama's FBI About It

Let's get those NDAs of the Benghazi witnesses and survivors voided while we're at it. But this will do for today.

A former FBI informant can now testify to Congress about the Russian nuclear industry's bribery and money laundering during the time of the Obama administration, after being released from a confidentiality agreement by the Justice Department on Wednesday.

Congressional committees have attempted to interview the unidentified informant, but were unable to because of a nondisclosure agreement he had signed with the FBI. In 2016, the Justice Department required him to withdraw a lawsuit that claimed he would raise the case during the 2016 election.

"As of tonight, the Department of Justice has authorized the informant to disclose to the Chairmen and Ranking Members of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, as well as one member of each of their staffs, any information or documents he has concerning alleged corruption or bribery involving transactions in the uranium market, including but not limited to anything related to Vadim Mikerin, Rosatom, Tenex, Uranium One, or the Clinton Foundation," Ian Prior, principal deputy director of public affairs at the Justice Department, said in a statement sent to the Washington Examiner.

Lock.

Them.

Up.

They counted on Hillary's victory to get away with this.

Always remember: Some "Republicans" who claim they're super-cereal conservatives wished to aid and abet Hillary and Obama in covering up their past crimes.

Fresh News: Victoria Toensing says that the Obama Administration threatened her client, the informant.

A former FBI informant who blew the whistle on a high-profile bribery case involving a Russian energy company was intimidated by Obama administration lawyers into dropping a civil suit against the government last year, his attorney says.

Victoria Toensing, the lawyer for the informant, told The Daily Caller's Vince Coglianese that Obama Justice Department lawyers told her client that"“his reputation and liberty [was] in jeopardy" if he did not drop a lawsuit against the government.

I would lower my expectations here. Sometimes these folks turn out to be people with personal axes to grind.

If it's something better than that, great! Just maybe temper expectations.

15 At the risk of sounding like Jeff Flake:

How bad do you want literally everyone involved to go to jail? Obviously yes, all the Clintons have to end their days in prison for their many, many crimes. Except those that take the plea. If you jail Obama, though, you are guaranteeing a war. Oh, I know they started it, and I know they would give the ratchet one last fatal twist if they could. But isn't a partial victory, with the top ranks of the Democratic Party annihilated, enough?

That said, if a war comes, all bets are off...

Other than the Iran deal, Obama's mission was single payer health care. That's really it in a nutshell. The downfall of Hillary could kill that (with the failure of the GOP, who knows), but it should have been killed already.

So this money flowing in from Russia (and who knows what else the obama people and the clinton's got from all of this) was super important, because the money was to get hillary elected.

This doesn't make sense. If the administration was actively making deals with Russia, why would they assign an agent to investigate Russia's dealings with the US? Kind of like Al Capone hiring a private investigator to look into protection rackets in his neighborhood.

86 If you jail Obama, though, you are guaranteeing a war. Oh, I know they started it, and I know they would give the ratchet one last fatal twist if they could. But isn't a partial victory, with the top ranks of the Democratic Party annihilated, enough?

That said, if a war comes, all bets are off...

Eh. They always assume we will back down and are encouraged in their aggression. We always assume they will always go to war and try to appease them.

Maybe they are not always as warlike as we thought? The antifa revolt as such really isn't that impressive. Shapiro was allowed to give his speech.

I think we should assume they will grumble. Perhaps some idiots in some filthy urban hellhole will burn down a neighborhood or two, but I think that other than that, *we* should act on the assumption that they don't want a war.

91 >>This doesn't make sense. If the administration was actively making deals with Russia, why would they assign an agent to investigate Russia's dealings with the US? Kind of like Al Capone hiring a private investigator to look into protection rackets in his neighborhood.

Not everyone in the government was or is corrupt. There are some people who actually love this country and do their jobs.

There was an FBI/DOJ investigation going on at the time because there were Russian agents attempting to bribe people both in the government and in the private nuclear industry for years. People have actually gone to jail for it.

At the same time, Putin had a stated goal of becoming a dominant power in the nuclear industry and was targeting the US government. Some of those agents also started working with people like Manafort and the Podesta brothers to infiltrate the government and their obvious gateway was the Clinton's given their long association with the Podesta's.

The entire FBI/DOJ investigation was known in the Obama administration and they were briefed on the criminal activity that was going on. But the Congress was not told of the investigation at all. And the CFIUS, which stands for Committee For Investment in the United States and is made up of representatives of 9 major governmental groups like State, Treasury, etc., and is tasked with approving strategic purchases of US assets, still approved the deal.

Yea, I think Congress is mad as hell and all of this is tied to the bullshit Russia collusion scam the left tried to pull off.

I had virtually zero heating (and zero A/C cooling) bills in California. I lived about a mile from the coast, and the climate was perfect almost all year round.

Moving far north (farther than Peaches), the bills are insane. You have to learn to resort to other tactics for the most part. Otherwise the heat will never go off in the winter. Big difference.

Sen. Ted Cruz ( R-Texas ) has about had it with all the GOP infighting between Trump and his colleagues and told his fellow Republicans to can it and get back to work.

According to The Hill, Cruz appeared on the conservative radio show The Mark Davis Show on Wednesday. When asked about the feud between Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker and Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake, Cruz verbally slapped his fellow GOP members by comparing them to middle school students without referring to Corker or Flake by name.

"It's like you're back in junior high. ... We've got a job to do, dammit, and so all of this nonsense, I got nothing to say on it. Everyone shut up and do your job, is my view,"
Cruz told Davis.

159 Moving far north (farther than Peaches), the bills are insane. You have to learn to resort to other tactics for the most part. Otherwise the heat will never go off in the winter. Big difference.

And the kind of cold here, going well below 0 often there is just no way to get warm. I have to soak in a hot hot tub of water for a long time, until my bones warm up before getting out. It's pretty bad. You go outside, and it gets into the bones again.

Posted by: artisanal 'ette at October 26, 2017 06:14 PM (fceHP)

I spent the first 50 years of my life in Michigan.

I just cranked the heat up, maybe put some sweats on. Unless it's 10 below zero, that's a different story. I just wanted to be warm now, I could deal with the bill later.

I like wearing shorts and tshirts in the house in the winter too, so maybe it's just me.

Well, not if left unattended. But they're only for a quick heat up or while you're in the room.

Electric is safer but if you have kids, all bets are off and care must be taken.

I assumed that people here have a modicum of sense and would take care. I do with all mine and no problems ever.

I turn them off if I'm not around and I have a co detector for both the furnace and the room I occupy the most.

Just regular common sense will do. I'm an electrician so I never trust electric outlets unless I've examined them by seeing what's inside the cover.

All mine are over sized for the load so I'm safe. Someone did a electric redo sometime lately b4 I bought this. Nice job too.

than a warm coat.

Unless it's a full length trench coat. Then, maybe.

Posted by: Bitter Clinger and All That (Back from the Dead) at October 26, 2017 06:26 PM

Tell ya what. Put on the biggest, baddest socks there are. Heck put on two or three pair. Go run around in freezing weather nekkid except for the socks. Tell us how you feel. We won't point and laugh because of "shrinkage", we promise!

Your torso is your primary heat radiator. You have to protect that. Your head is your next biggest heat radiator. That's the source of the saying "Cold hands or feet? Put on a hat." Keeping your torso and head from radiating heat is the best thing you can do to keep your extremities warm.

Now I'm not saying don't wear socks. Dry socks are a godsend, and not just from a warmth perspective.

Aside from that, here's what I remember from Arctic Survival School:

1) Don't eat polar bear liver (Vitamin A toxicity)
2) Don't touch metal with your bare hand.
2a) If you do, urinate on it to free your hand.
2b) If you touch both hands, better have a friend along.

Clearly, Ralphie and the boys hadn't yet gone to Arctic Survival School.

If you have a furnace, you're not all electric. You've got gas or oil supplying that furnace. Be a good idea to find out which.

Unless it's an electric boiler? That is expensive. Should look into a conversion because until more coal or nuke comes on line the electric prices are only going to go up. Esp. in NW IN.

they make small propane heaters which can use either the bottles or the larger tanks (like for a barbecue).

I use mine to balance out what the furnace supplies to the whole house so my cost in electric isn't all that much. Not more than the A/C is during the summer.

But wear some booties or footies or thick socks. You'll be glad you did.

Obama will never, ever see justice for any of his malfeasance, as he's their anointed one.

Hillary has very weakened support right now. If anyone becomes the patsy for the moment we're in right now, it'll be her.

Bill won't be touched at all, because nostalgia, and also because he'll probably not long outlast the gradual waning of the structural syphilis colonies that are holding his wretched corpus together.

Get some parachute cloth and suspend it from the ceiling (unless lights or fans are in the way then probably not)

This will keep the heat from rising so fast to the ceiling and it can be a nice effect. Make it look like a tent.

OR go for a drop ceiling (much more expensive).

4.) Get out of lake

5.) Fiddle with ruck and stove to get hot food/drink going (quickly)

6.) Exercise, hard until clothing dries.

7.) Repeat until NCO is tired of watching you

Posted by: Northernlurker-ish at October 26, 2017 06:27 PM (nBr1j)
---------------------------
No, it does not exist.
In order for something to be a "scandal," you have to have widespread dissemination and outrage.
The CRIME exists, but the scandal does not.

And sometimes there is a biiiiig scandal with no crime, e.g., the Valerie Plame case.

275 >>About time we got something from Sessions.

This is the 3rd post in a row that we have gotten something from the DOJ.

1. The headline of the article about the smoking gun in government settlement article about the money going to liberal groups would seem like this is new news. It's not. The DOJ stopped the process in the summer.

2. The DOJ is releasing both the confidential informant and the documentation that the Obama administration hid about Uranium One to Congress.

3. Tea Party groups are being compensated by the IRS for targeting and the policies are being changed.

And this is on top of all the things that haven't made blog posts around here.

The idea that the DOJ has done nothing since Sessions was approved is dumb. I don't know how or why that got started but it isn't close to being factual.

There was no more corrupt agency under the Obama regime than the DOJ. It was going to take more than a couple months to clean that up never mind doing the actual work of the agency no matter who was put in charge.
