Reports: The European Parliament Is Also an Insular Progressive Bubble Filled With Harvey-Weinstein-Like Sexual Predators

If you're wondering what progressive-dominated institution will be the next to catch flame, turns out, it's the European parliament.

PARLIAMENT PERVS

...

By Natasha Clark
22nd October 2017, 1:38 pmUpdated: 23rd October 2017, 5:37 pm

THE EUROPEAN Parliament has been accused of being a "hotbed of sexual harassment" after a string of MEPs accused politicians of inappropriate behaviour.

After the Harvey Weinstein scandal engulfed Hollywood last week, now politicians in Brussels say there is a problem at the heart of the European Union too.

More than a dozen women accused politicians of groping, stalking, harassment, and treating them like meat, a Sunday Times investigation revealed.

One assistant revealed that a senior MEP masturbated in front of a young assistant, and another aide told of how they were groped.

And one said how a leading German MEP "stalked her" in meetings and made repeated advances towards her.

She said that the parliament is "an absolute hotbed of harassment", because MEPs are "not accountable to anyone".

How widespread is the harassment? Well, Politico Europe Playbook has found 87 women and six men willing to make complaints, some anonymously, some by name.

Allegations made to Playbook include EU work contracts offered in exchange for sex, young women being sent to bars and dinners to trade sexual favors for legislative ones, a staffer asked to book prostitutes for their MEP boss, women bailed up in toilets at work functions, and men bullied, then sent on paid leave.

You can listen to some of the stories in the "Dear POLITICO" section of the EU confidential podcast (Episodes one to 12).

Jeanne Ponte, a prize-winning College of Europe student from France who became an assistant at the European Parliament for the center-left MEP Edouard Martin, told Le Figaro she has collected 50 instances of inappropriate behavior including "a political adviser who sent me in the middle of the night photos of me, taken without my knowledge."

This is apparently a very common thing, which I (blessedly) do not get at all:

Additional stories told to Pancevski included a senior MEP masturbating in front of a much younger staffer.

Why are progressive-instituted institutions such hotbeds of corruption and sexual harassment? Maybe it has something to do with that "accountability to no one" they've granted themselves. Because they're Better People (TM), and deserve to be unaccountable.

Oh, and it doesn't stop with the European Parliament -- many of the stories are about the various NGOs - the alleged do-gooder non-governmental organizations that infest capitals like lice.

Playbook's research indicates the problem is systemically significant and goes beyond the European Parliament. A little over half the stories told to Playbook are about incidents in the private sector, including at NGOs.

Revelations Of British Pedophile Ring Spur Flood Of Abuse Reports

There were whispers of a pedophile ring at the highest levels of British government. Revelations suggest those rumors had substance and that a culture of deference helped hide child abuse for decades.

This vast 1930s apartment complex has long been a bolt-hole for the British establishment, but Dolphin Square is also one of several addresses across London where one pedophile ring, comprising some of Britain's most powerful men, allegedly abused underage boys in the 1960s, '70s and '80s, boys as young as 6 bused in from care homes or the slums. On the other hand, most of this stuff strikes this layman as merely about control. The ability to shock and demean an unwilling participant. Power expression, in other words.

GorillaPundit could teach a few of these gents about manners and decorum- although they are intentionally ignoring those rules in order to express their power over them and society. The women are merely foils.

I've always wondered if this counts as plagiarism:

Woody Allen said: "If God exists, I don't think you could say he was evil. I think you'd have to say ... he's an underachiever." (Annie Hall)

Later,

George Carlin: "What kind of work is this? This is not the kind of thing you'd expect from an omnipotent all loving creator. It's the kind of work you'd expect of an office temp with a bad attitude".

I realize there are many theodicies that refute that. I'm just curious as to whether this is a case of "Amy Schumerism" or not.

It's a power thing. It's not a sex thing. It's about power and demeaning people. With women, sex is used, with men it is usually violence or head games to break them down.

There is one recent special I saw where the female gorilla had to flirt and get the Silverback jealous, and all sorts of stuff, because he wasn't that interested in her. It was hilarious.

Another female chose outside the tribe. One male from outside the group tried to rape on of the unwilling females, who also had a baby; he almost killed the baby. The oldest daughter tried to protect their mom, and then the men came running. He was run off with a nice facial scar.

If you watch Homcide Hunter on TV, you know Lt Joe Kenda. He's written a memoir, I Will Find You, discussing a number of cases he worked on at the Colorado Springs PD.

He says the one case that forced him to retire was a man charged with sexually abusing his grandson. When Kenda asked why the man would do such a thing, the guy responded, "He came on to me."

Kenda says that the next thing he remembered was cops pulling at his shoulders and screaming his name, because he had his hands locked tight around the bastard's throat and was trying to kill him.

When they finally pulled him off, he put in his resignation. That day.

250 I said this earlier today, but a bunch of the usual suspect democrat women are coming forward with their #metoo stories.

YES. DO IT. THANK YOU. By all means let's have this conversation, ladies. Unearth that can of worms because it will of course spill over to the democrat congresscritters too, who are notorious harrassers. Ted Kennedy is so grateful he's already dead.

(FWIW I these harassment stories are most likely true, politics attracts scumbags. But since some of these ladies are being touted as contestants vs Trump in 2020, like Warren, their famewhorey timing is suspect.)

251 Playbook's research indicates the problem is systemically significant and goes beyond the European Parliament. A little over half the stories told to Playbook are about incidents in the private sector, including at NGOs.

The UN is Ground Zero for extorted sexual perversion. They like to jack off into potted saplings before they will water them. Then they turn around and charge the UN for "growth mixture".

I don't think anybody is comparing astrology to pedophilia. My suspicion is that these EU types don't believe in anything but money, power and progressive politics. Yes, the pedophila scandal in the RCC was horrible, but aside from Catholic priests and other warped clergy people. i sincerely doubt that any of these degenerates in the EU are attending Christian or Jewish religious services regularly. They may go for the Holy-day services or to be their kid be baptized as a cultural event, but that's about it. No accountability-not even to God.

Except...Hollywood does the same stuff. I dated a few Wall Streeters back in the day. Most of the stuff is true. The ones who have morals really have to have strength to not fall to the depths. The pressure is intense. I don't know if it has changed.

I didn't see WOW b/c I knew it'd be a sleaze fest. I do remember Richard Roeper reviewing it and talking about the opening sex scene and saying...I didn't know any guy would want to do that to a girl. No one ever said, but look at the state of those countries. Their economies, their problems. No, it was that we were prudes. Not that we were more respectful or something. No, it was something wrong with us. Never did someone say...we are not those countries! We weren't founded to be like everyone else.

437 Sexual harassment is different than sexual assault.

Too many will conflate the two. But sexual harassment has almost been defined as whatever the harassed says.

This is not a good standard. I don't know about Europe or the EU but this is a nation of laws and we shouldn't go painting the accused harassers with the same brush as those accused of assault. (yes masturbation in front of some woman is sexual assault, I'm just repeating the phrasing of the article)

This is starting to smell like a pile on. No one dared come forward sooner? No evidence other than hearsay?

Got to have better standards. Maybe some will slip the net now but make the rules clearer and enforceable no matter who the target or the assaultee is.

It's bad when so many can just say they were assaulted without some corroboration.

Rule of law. We've already started lynching people and businesses online. Is in reality far behind?

Take a look at what antifa is all about.

_______________

Who would waste their time reading his drivel? He's just an ignorant punk who took a knee to try and distract from the fact that he sucks as a quarterback, and also to try and impress his idiot, ill-informed gf.

Random House would be better off just setting the money on fire.

So I see on the twatter that Flake said there is a time when you have
to give up your career for principles or some such nonsense.

That, and a six figure lobbyist job on K St.

RINOs are going to become an endangered species, soon.

489 England HAAAATES Soros. He deliberately crashed their entire economy because he was speculating against the Pound. They remember this and other things.

Yes, there's that. But I guess I always come at things from the EU perspective. There are a lot of politicians who want to stay in the EU. Remember the protests and bitter fighting? If Brexit vote was held today, it may turn out differently. Also, Soros picks and chooses who he influences. And like our reps, money & power is all that matters to many of them. Screw the pound and the country. That's the thing with all the organizations and tentacles he has. Stopping him is like trying to nail jello to the wall....at least currently.

I think he's going third-party next time

They didn't give it to him the last time. They had no real choice, despite their whining.

492 I recall Jeff Flake was a pretty reliable conservative vote in the house. Something changed when he became a senator. That something was him, not the party.
And he has many cohorts that have done the same. We know it as Swamp Fever.

500 In theory , the RNC could make every state a caucus primary, they could switch the order of the state elections, they could add super delegates or they could pick their nominee in a smoke filled backroom. In theory.

501 Nailing stuff to the castle door was basically like nailing it to a telephone pole in town: public billboard. It was just an announcement of some lectures.

502 So now we have McCain, Corker, and Flake going full Bulworth in addition to Murkowski and Collins who side with Dem's on important items.

Trump is going to have his hands full.
