Vegas Shooting Death Toll Rises to 58; Over 500 Injured
David French Writes About the Strangeness of This Attack

The strangeness begins with the shooter's brother's revelation that the shooter "wasn't an avid gun guy at all" and yet amassed a small arsenal, including (presumably) illegal automatic weapons:

Not sure what it means. Sometimes things are just strange.

Meanwhile, a CBS legal executive said the concert-goers got what they deserved because most of them are probably gun-toting Republicans or something.

"If they wouldn’t do anything when children were murdered I have no hope that Repugs will ever do the right thing," Geftman-Gold wrote on Facebook. "I'm actually not even sympathetic bc country fans often are Republican gun toters."

A country in which large numbers of people cheerlead the deaths of large numbers of their fellow countrymen is no longer a country, and people should be adults and recognize this, and do the adult thing. It's time for a peaceful voluntary national dissolution.

Pass a background check, get a gun. Automatic weapons require a lot more, but guns can be made auto, if capable of being auto, reasonably easy enough.

8 One of the articles I read mentioned that the brother didn't talk with the shooter as much as he would have liked since they lived far away.

My analysis would be something happened to the shooter relatively recently and radicalized him, either to attack Las Vegas or to attack a bunch of country music goers.

If it was the former he is probably a standard nut bar if it was the latter well maybe ISIS isn't lying here....

hate speech, eh?

Anyway, are we supposed to do what, self-negate, because white men in a country that has a lot of them commit most of the crimes? What kind of math is that?

We know they're lying in general and point they're trying to make is basically hate speech. You cherry pick events, conflate all white men as a single group of actors and ignore, you know, minorities that over-perform when it comes to crime.

At the end of the day, she should know that we know. And what we know is there is no hate like that of a liberal.

I don't know, I think it's hard to judge and that we might be hearing an echo, reverb, and the general shittiness of cell phone microphones.

If had automatic weapons, that makes this whole thing a lot more weird.

I can imagine a situation in which he was firing a semi-auto rifle very rapidly and that it would sound like automatic fire on a cellphone video recorded from below and at a distance when there is a lot of building materials and sound stages and whatnot around to allow sound to echo off of.

108 Where is the full auto idea coming from? It wouldn't be necessary if he had the 8 or 10 rifles as mentioned. Standard magazines would give him plenty of rounds, a number of rifles would allow the barrels to cool down. Semi-auto with .223 or 7.62x39 could be done at 5 rounds per second with some control.

Living in a desert area you could practice easily in isolation. This seems to be well planned out and the choice of a high up room would mean that, unlike the guy who shot at the baseball game, he would not have to worry about incoming fire disrupting his concentration. The cameras to spot police also would allow him to be sure that he would know before they could take him.

Buying 10 rifles would not be a problem as long as you had money and if he took a bit of time it wouldn't even be noticed.

If you listen to the multitude of cell phone videos from the arena, it sounds like a full-auto gun.

But as I've said -- you can squeeze the trigger pretty quickly with a semi auto and get a similar effect.

Plus, I don't really trust the audio on the cell phone videos. I know when I've recorded myself shooting, my iphone does a horrible job of picking up the sound and it sounds weird. I don't know how it would sound being recorded at a distance, way below the plane of fire, with buildings and other obstacles around causing echos.

Now modifying ain't what it used to be back when SOF magazine offered new sears for your trigger assembly. Colt intentionally changed the lower assembly of the AR so as to prevent any of that shit from happening. Wild ass guess you would have to mill out part of the lower to even begin to do the changeover. No gunsmith I, but metinks a "non gun guy" like this either ain't a non gun guy or is steeped in it if he did the mod. Second-HRc politicised it of course. It is what she does. set aside the debate one thing I would be pretty sure of- Nobody can rock fully surpressed and maintain a sustained rate of fire for too long. They foul and trap heat. Yeah yeah yeah 10 weapons. But this guy simply sprayed and sprayed. Archane bulshit, and possibly wrong I know. I mention it because HRC says shit that is probably untrue and is taken as gospel. The "decision to send the USNS Comfort was the wrong decision. They had prepositioned two Helicopter Assault ships which were the corrrect vessels. HRC's pick was the rube's pick. The logical questions is to ask the brother if they're close. I didn't watch the clip so maybe they did, but oftentimes families aren't all that close for a number of reasons. For example, I haven't seen my sister in over 10 years and haven't talked to her in about 3 years. We're just not that close for a number of reasons that I won't elaborate upon here. She could be a major meth producer, a terrorist, or a lesbian married to another lesbian and I'd have no idea. Maybe that's what is going on here.

Bump fire stock is the most likely IMO. If he was a drug runner he could have accessed the real thing illegally. He might have a class 3 but that seems unlikely.

He could have modified a semi auto but that is not really easy and would likely have required some milling equipment and knowledge.

It would also give the gun controllers a channel to go after short of a semi autos if the establishment is ready to make this push.

Just pointing that out.

She's well aware that as a conservative-leaning person in a profession dominated by leftists and an area dominated by leftists she'd have serious consequences for expressing even mild opinions.

And it pisses me off to no end that people like this Geftman-Gold are out there with NONE of the fear of consequences we have arrayed against us.

340 Full auto can be anything from around 350 to well over a thousand rounds per minute. M3 greasegun on the low end the German WWII machine guns on the high end among others. 500-600 is the normal range.

Bumpfire gets into the same range as normal full auto. It became a thing because of the prices for real full auto guns going through the roof due to the ATF closing the book on new full auto weapons being registered in the 1980s. This made the supply limited and prices zoomed up.

That's legal ownership. In the third world getting a full auto AK is cheap, under $100 I think, if you had the connections. With the shooter owning his own planes his getting weapons south of the border is not out of the question.

About 7 miles out in the country there was a couple of trailer homes with a few 4 x 4 's up a little hill, with a gate that said "Earle's Gun Shop" or something. Here in East Texas, back before 9/11 made everyone touchy about everything, there was a country hiway through the piney woods you could take out of Palestine towards Elkhart, as i recall. About 7 miles out in the country there was a couple of trailer homes with a few 4 x 4 's up a little hill, with a gate that said "Earle's Gun Shop" or something. Above it was a hand lettered sign on plywood, hanging kind of crooked, that read "WE SPECCIALIZE IN FULL AUTOMATIC CONVERSIONS"

Just a couple of country boys plyin' their trade.

Reasing the last 5 hours and there is a lot of bad info kicking around. A few thoughts:

1. No training necessary for a simple area attack. 22,000 is a crowd target. Average 500 meters is very easily in area attack range for a 5.56 weapon - point and shoot.

2. Thus far no evidence of any full auto fire. Yes I listened to the tapes. I have also been in attacks in urban areas and a single shot can produce three or four echos each... gets very confusing when entire mags are unloaded.

3. Could it be a full auto, yes, they can with difficulty be purchased legally. They can with the work of a gifted machinist sometimes be produced, although rimfire is a lot easier than centerfire. Easier by far, and for the same $ just to buy one from Mexico.

4. Other possibilities include a bump fire or actuator unit. These can be as simple as a heavy duty rubber band (or really fat belly) but do need practice.

5. It is quite easy to dump 40-60 rounds per minute area fire out of any readily available mag/box/belt semi auto with nil skills.

6. 10 rifles? Then definitely no training as a trained individual doing this would take a primary and a spare and perhaps a scoped precision unit to start the show with, no more.

7. 15 loaded mags and a taken down AR fit in a roll-aboard easily.

8. 'Silencers' don't, although subsonic rounds can come essentially silent in some calibers. On long guns they suppress and disperse making it harder to locate the firing source as well as reduce muzzle flash and likelihood of setting nearby stuff on fire. They do not degrade the accuracy of firearms built for their use although they can change the point of aim/impact.

9. Commercial fire doors such as hotel room doors are by design difficult to get into. In a fire/rescue situation where no one is pumping rounds through the surrounding walls at you there are several options. If doing an opposed entry then explosive breaching followed by a couple of flash-bangs, or frags in a military setting, and dynamic entry would be the norm. This is not something casino security is or should be doing.

10. '2 shooting platform positions.' He knocked out 2 windows in an obvious and logical fashion. Highrise windows are designed to a) not fall off in severe storms and b) not get knocked out from inside by suicides and drunks. A window punch to break integrity and a hammer will do the rest easily. No body is gonna notice 32 floors up with a concert going on.

11. Renting the room and targeting the concert speaks to serious premeditation and intent. Insanity does not necessarily degrade the ability to plan and conduct an operation. The target concert may or may not speak to motive. Concerts are held there all the time. Investigation will no doubt uncover the motivation. Whether we ever learn the truth is another story.

12. Th MFM are foul vile horrors, and need to be opposed in public, in the courts and in our homes churches clubs and schools at every turn. They HATE us, the HATE everything we believe in, and the LITERALLY wish us dead. Never forget.

13. See 12.

425 Alex Jones live just now on his show got a message from one of people from the hostage rescue team that confronted the guy. He said the FBI killed him and the man had pro antifa rhetoric all over his room. He
reported thus not even 15 minutes ago. Also had images of his wife in the middle East.

Is it possible this is true? Sure, I guess.

But think about it. If Jones got this info "live" during a broadcast, what chance is there Jones or his people vetted the source of the report? I'd say unless they already had a relationship with the source, practically zero. So what you really have is some rando feeding news to a guy who is known to shoot from the hip.

Again, it's possible it's true, but not likely.

The book was the Third Terrorist by Jayna Davis. She makes some pretty concrete allegations that it was a joint operation between Al Qaeda and Iraq. Terry Nichols learned how to build the ANFO bomb from Ramzi Yousef, nephew of Khalid Sheik Mohammad, and the WTC 93 bomb builder in the Philippines. Timothy McVeigh was spotted frequently in the company of Hussein Hashem al Husseini, an Iraqi ex-pat, who came as a refugee following Desert Storm. He reportedly claimed that he was an Iraqi Republican Guard soldier. Ultimately cleared by the FBI, he would show up in Boston working at Logan Airport on 9/11. al Husseini was a dead ringer for the John Doe Number 2 sketches that vanished within 24 hours. One sketch by a woman in the Murrah building who survived the bombing and saw him get out of the truck on the passenger side.

It sounds to me like the trigger finger essentially stays still and the recoil with some sort of bounce makes the weapon move back and forth, effectively pulling the trigger repeatedly. is that close?

474 One thing that we do know about the shooter: he had a lot of money. He owned two airplanes. Airplanes basically make holes in the air into which you dump wheel barrows full of cash. He was an instrument rated pilot. Allegedly his condo cost $365,000.

Depends on the boat and how it was maintained. If you are talking a 21 foot runabout then yes. If you are talking a boat that is the equivalent of an airplane with similar maintenance, some of them hold their value quite well.

That is how I see it too. The recoil cycles the trigger so if you depress the trigger without releasing it, it functions like an automatic weapon.

511 As to it being the shooter at the anti trump rally.

1. Looks like him. Maybe 1% of the population looks like him. So odds against 3,000,000 to one.

2. Rally took place in Nevada. Shooter lived in Nevada. Reduces Odds against from 3,000,000 to 1 to 30,000 to 1.
3. Guy at Rally wearing a NASA shirt. Shooter worked for NASA contractor Lockheed Martin. Chance of a person who looks like him having a NASA shirt - maybe one in 100 which reduces odds its not him to 30 to one.
4. Woman at rally next to him looks like his girlfriend( a known leftist ) . Maybe one woman in a thousand in the US looks like his girlfriend. Which means the odds that it is not him is reduced to .03 to 1. In other words there is 33 to one chance that is him at the rally.
