Lindsey Graham Wants Comey to Testify Again About Exonerating Hillary Clinton Before Investigation Had Interviewed Key Subjects: "This Doesn't Add Up and I Smell a Rat"

I'm sure the evidence has all been bleach-bitted to the point where even the component atoms are sparkling white, but good on Graham for tugging on this thread.

He should definitely grill Comey on the question proposed by Sean M. Davis: if the decision was already made, why were Hillary Clinton's minions all given Get Out of Jail Free immunity cards for their inconsequential testimony?

Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham wants former FBI Director James Comey to testify again to Congress after new details emerged last week about the Hillary Clinton email case.
"This doesn't add up, and I smell a rat here," Graham told Fox News on Thursday.

"He needs to come back to the committee," Graham said.
Graham said he wants to know whether Comey had "predetermined the result" of the Clinton investigation before she and her aides were interviewed, "contrary" to his testimony.
Graham told Fox News he has reason to believe the "real reason may have been some email between the DNC and the Justice Department about the scope of the Clinton investigation."

That last bit is intriguing -- I think he's suggesting there's an undisclosed, hidden email that sharply limited what Comey was asked to investigate, in order to make it appear a full investigation had been conducted when in fact his ambit was only limited to, say, researching whether or not "intent" could be read into a law which deliberately excludes "intent" as a requirement.

He would never have held that press conference if Lynch hadn't been caught with Bill on the tarmac. That made Lynch set up Comey "to make the decision." Here's a post mortem. Comey and the FBI acted on a narrow investigation order. It was Hillary and her e-mails only. This was purposeful and hamstrung the investigation from the start.

e.g., The FBI did not investigate the "air gap" of how secure content on the government system got moved to Hillary's home brew. This almost certainly had to involve some combination of Huma, Cheryl or Jake. With none of them made a target -- nor their actions tied to Hillary -- much of the case was lost. No intent, no conspiracy. No leverage on Hillary's minions. Importantly, I thought this could be proven without any minion flipping, just with time logs of who accessed what and when. This should have been a relatively easy case to make. Had it been, there's no way that Comey couldn't find requisite intent no matter how he read the applicable statutes.

Nor did the FBI investigate Clinton Cash Corruption. I thought they would, based on leaks to Fox News'' Catherine Herridge. She got played. So did I. Related to this, the FBI ignored that "Hillary's lawyers permanently put 30,000 e-mails beyond forensic recovery." This is the true Holy Shit Headline.

I see it from a different perspective. Comey already had made the decision not to indict and basically cover the whole thing up.

He informs lynch which way the winds are blowing. Lynch tries to have a clandestine meeting with with Bill Clinton on the Tarmac to relay to Team Clinton that they've got nothing to worry about but gets caught by some meddling reporter. Lynch forced to recuse herself but already knows the fix is in.

I think this is what is making Sessions appear to be "doing nothing". All of these matters have statutes of limitation ticking. And they have to be prioritized by type of crime, prosecutorial resources, monetary loss amount etc. etc. And the evidence , one document at a time. And you can waste time and money doing all the work and the judge can still throw it all out.

The Obama administration was the dirtiest most corrupt administration in history. And they left a mountain of criminal shit to clean up. And they planted their complicit minions to #resist at every turn, knowing that they would be protected from being fired by civil service procedures.

But at the time - and this is democrats we are talking about - I think they thought that, with the election in the bag, and no need to go to WI, they should try to put a finish of respectability on it so as not to taint her highness' presumptive presidency.
It was a miscalculation. Not a colossal blunder, though. It looked worse that the months/years long "investigation" could be reopened and shut on a mountain of new incriminating evidence in only a matter of hours. Very unbelievable.

Grew up in SC but have been out of the state for a while. Graham was my Representative.

SC is a conservative state but most people don't really vote for the most conservative person ever just because they are conservative.

Graham got a rep in the 90s as one of the impeachment managers of Clinton. He is a veteran, an AF JAG. I don't know his political history of how he got to the Congress, I think he was in the Gingrich class of 94, but he became the favorite to run for the seat of Strom Thurmond when he passed (shut it on phrasing!)

He inherited the political machine of Thurmond, and that cemented his political viability. People care more about the constituent service than they do about ACU rating.

Also, SC has a lot of veterans, a lot of them are Navy types, and a lot of them like McCain a lot, so the fact that he is McCain's pal is not a negative.

People outside of SC keep saying that Democrats are electing him and that is just simply untrue.
