"Well, here we go: A disgusting CBS news story about how Iceland is using abortion to 'eliminate' Down's Syndrome, and I don't know what's worse, making DS sound like polio or smallpox, or that the way they're doing it is by murdering DS kids while they're still in the womb, or the fact that this is just eugenics smuggled in through the back door."

Here is the article that CBSNews GP is referring to: "What kind of society do you want to live in?": Inside the country where Down syndrome is disappearing.

The article mentions that murdering DS children in the womb isn't strictly an Icelandic thing:

According to the most recent data available, the United States has an estimated termination rate for Down syndrome of 67 percent (1995-2011); in France it's 77 percent (2015); and Denmark, 98 percent (2015). The law in Iceland permits abortion after 16 weeks if the fetus has a deformity -- and Down syndrome is included in this category.

Progressive medicine is concerned primarily with determining who you need to murder and what the best methods are for murdering them.

Eugenics, formerly all the rage in Europe and even here in America, went underground after the destruction of the Third Reich, but, as GP observed, progressives keep trying to sneak it back in. They don't openly campaign for eugenics in the name of eugenics, but it always seems to be in the background of progressive thought, just waiting to come out when the time is right.

I see Patricia Heaton is on the same page as GP:

When the docs discovered she had DS, they told my parents that if they new sooner, they wouldn't have fought so hard to keep her alive.

Then they advised my parents to institutionalize her. She'd never walk, never talk, wouldn't have a life. They told my mom & dad that you have 2 healthy children - go on with your life.

My parents (my heroes actually) fought and fought hard for her. My sister lives in a group home with a few other similarly handicapped women in a nice house. She is not just a functioning but a contributing member of society doing volunteer work. She knows the bus routes in her city as good as anyone. Competed in the equestrian special olympics competing up to the state level.

Was one of the first in line at a small facility, and everybody commented on the car-o-kids waiting for me. Very fast, courteous and pleasant. As much as I despise IL Dems, Jesse White really has done a very good job as SecofState.

A little off. One of antifa's main targets has always been white supremacist organizations. This is not even close to the first time they have targeted them and now that they are growing on the public radar this white supremacist/antifa face-off will be seen more clearly.

This wasn't a random event and it had nothing to do with statues or anything else. These two groups hate each other with white hot hate and target each other constantly.

This is something people really need to know. Trump was correct in his assessment but it didn't go far enough. This really has nothing to do with left and right, these are two hate groups that want to fight.

He chose wrong in a lot of different areas in his life, being a Nazi among them, but it's not at all clear that he purposely drove into them and much more likely that he panicked.

He had already been attacked, like as not, while exiting the rally. It was a riot, antifa doing all of the attacks, and at least one elderly man was clubbed from behind that I saw.

So he gets in his car and takes a wrong turn - perhaps. Antifa did beat on his car before he drove into them, then rushed his car after the initial accident, where he then reversed. He was, literally, being swarmed.

Right choice? No. But no good choices either. Personally, I blame the cops and MacAulliffe.

The guys who wrote "The Death of WCW" keep making that point - when wrestling is truly hot, a promotion can't do anything wrong. Austin and The Rock were always going to make sure that the WWF won in the end, but if WCW had built around the younger good workers - Jericho, Benoit, Guerrero - I think they could have survived. ECW was always going to fold because they just didn't have the money to keep their stars - even in the biggest boom period in wrestling history, ECW consistently lost money.

But WCW was controlled by Hogan, Nash and the other veterans and they weren't about to let those young guys take the torch.

One is decidedly on the mid to low "Good" end of the spectrum, but shoots beautifully. THe other was an "Excellent" with a nonmatching handguard and a tiny crack just forward of the barrel band. Oh and it has damn near 100 percent bluing. Haven't shot it yet. I'd love to get a Sako sometime soon.

This is actually a replay of what happened in Germany.

The German government refused (or was unable) to do anything about rioting communists in the streets. Various groups sprung up that used the communists' strategies against them successfully to answer them. This led to the German National Socialist Party.

The answer in the 30s...and now...is for the police to harshly crack down on any groups engaged in violence.

But it looks like learning from history is something the US government can't do.

This group of white nationalists is attempting to mainstream themselves by latching onto Trump. They have been rallying with Trump/Pence signs since the election and the media is doing their damnedest to make people think that they are indeed a core part of Trump support.

Have you actually read anything that these white nationalists have put out? Did you watch the Vice interview with the leaders of the rally in Virginia? Did you hear them chanting racist and anit-semetic slogans during their march? These people are scum. They are indeed Nazis and frankly a lot of people are being played by them.

The issue of free speech is a secondary issue here. That is not what they want. They want to shut down other people entirely and drive them out of the country. I kind of like NGU and CBD and other Jewish and minorities who post here and in meat space and I am firmly opposed to these assholes.
