William Shatner Goes to War with... the Social Justice Warriors

Engage.

Wait, he's not the one who said engage, is he?

What did Kirk say? Nanoo nanoo if I remember right.

Well whatever. He's giving them full phasers and photon torpedoes.

BTW, posting this was a pain in the ass because for some reason, William Shatner has me blocked.

These days you need a picture, and maybe some scratch 'n' sniff to help the slower people in the public to get a joke. Fusion is a US company run by former Wall Street Journal guys, and are guns for hire. They were hired by Russia on some projects and by Hugo Chavez's minions on another. But does that mean they were hired by the Russians to put together the pee pee dossier?
I think I'm still missing a piece of the plot here.

So the question of why would Putin look to influence or help Trump, I don't think he was trying to help him so much as cause confusion and exert influence.

Per Browder's testimony today in the Senate, Putin's number one foreign policy goal was the removal of the Magnitsky Act, sanctions which were killing his personal finances by restricting his worldwide banking actions.

So with that in mind, read this about Bill and Hill taking money from Putin right around the time Hillary gave a speech saying she was not in favor of the Magnitsky Act in 2015.

Not necessarily a good thing. Consider:

A couple of seconds that turn Scotty from an engineer's engineer into an everyman worried about family.

205 Can't say, pep, but viewed from a small distance there so many people who were basically assigned suicide missions in the war - just the nature of the way things were done. Probably as an over-reaction to Omaha Beach, planning estimates for the first waves in Olympic, on Kyushu, had some pretty stratospheric loss assumptions. Even if one toned them down by 250% (probably reasonable, given Japanese resources, the geography, and "preparation" that might have included up to 15 fission weapons), the loss estimates were sobering.

And there's Pelileu, and many other battles that at the time or later could be second- and triple-guessed.

276 Wanna hear something wild? When you adjust for inflation TMP made more money than Star Trek 2.

Which is odd because the first film was considered a failure and the second a huge success that saved the franchise. The thing is, everyone and their pet goat wanted to see the first film because they were so desperate for Trek at that point. So it had HUGE numbers at first. But it was very expensive as well because all those somewhat cheesy-looking effects were really expensive back in the day.

Cost $35 million to make, earned $82,258,456 (11 mill of that first weekend).

Khan cost $11.2 and made only $78,912,963, (14 mill the first weekend) so... earned less total but cost a lot less to make.

I've been groping for an analogy today.

Scaramucci will only last a few weeks. The problem is that he is Trump's kind of guy. He is many of the things I don't like about Trump. (Not all, there's way more that I don't like about Trump).

The problem is that I get why we needed Trump. All the SJW's, the corrupt Clinton machine, the lockstep ideological media, the absolute inability of a reasoned argument to surface if it's from right of left-center.

So we get Trump. I'm thinking it's something painful your Mom puts on a wound.

With this sort of turnover, who else should be blamed?

Remember, Trump was the one that asked Comey to stay on.

Now Sessions is on the chopping block, and maybe Rex Tillerson as well.

Now we have the Communications Director threatening the Chief of Staff with felony charges and all sorts of firings.

In addition to Trump constantly bashing his own AG

And Spicer was just let go just a few days ago.

But I'm sure all of this chaos is some combination of fiction and/or 3rd dimensional chess.

And because Trump beat the worst Democrat candidate in the history of politics, every move from here on out can't be criticized.

362 Even an M-1 in hush mode... ie being towed is noisy

From what I understand while running they are positively ear splitting. As in deafening for real, not "wow that's loud and I need an over the top adjective" deafening. The kind that makes your ears stop working.

363 There's a t-72 for sale in England that is in good shape. I think shipping is extra...

364 Wasn't it the sassy helmsman from the fabulous Hemorrhoidus constellation, Filthy George Takei, who made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs? Dude is a legend in the hyperdrive community.

365 Star Trek was the story of the descendants of us. A nice future of scientific discovery and general peace.

Star Wars was a fantasy in a galaxy far, far away, with magic (the force) and heroism and love.

Pick your poison.

366 @ 312- linzey graham?
I can see him getting the liza minnelli smeared mascara look on his face and stamping his little slippers on a tile floor, screeching at President Trump. Come on South Carolina, you can do better than that.

367 Apparently, Chuck Grassley told Trump that if he fires anyone, the replacement won't get confirmed by the Senate in 2017.

This ain't the private sector.

368 245---They're minimum wage workers. That doesn't say much for their deductive reasoning skills.

Why yes, I am an elitist snob. Why do you ask?

Mommy and Daddy paid your way, eh?
You spent your summers at French camp in the Alps?
Or got you fancy "jobs" at Uncle Richie's law firm?

369 Shatner is the past tense of what?

Posted by: Anchovy at July 27, 2017 06:30 PM (c86/W)

370 There are few sources I'll believe even with a grain of salt when it comes to anything Trump related. The New Yorker ain't one of them.

371 Shatner and Nimoy each used the command "Engage" at least once during TOS.

Secure to general quarters.

The term SJW is offensive to social people, people who believe in justice and actual warriors. I'm sure you can think of a better word.

373 Kirk kicks ass and bangs hawt alien babes!!
Picard's a pussy.
Janeway's a fridged bitch who cannot navigate her ship home.
The captain on "Enterprise", whose name escapes me at the moment, ain't too bad. Always thought he could do with a three way with Hoshi and the Vulcan chick. Well, couldn't we all.
The black guy on the space station series really was an AA hire/promotion. Should have kept him on the garbage scow.
Sulu should have been given to the Klingons as a plaything.

374 I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
