Shia LaBoeuf Hailed as Hero For Saving Child From Bear

Um, no, nothing like that happened.

Instead, what appears to be a drunk former actor curses out the cops and brags he has "More millionaire lawyers than you know what to do with, you stupid bitch!"

In other words, same shit, different day.

He also says, to a black cop, "The President "doesn't give a f**k about you, and you wanna do what? Arrest white people?"

Then he begins having a tantrum, like a drunken sissy baby, screaming "My cuffs are too tight! Why am I in custody?! My cuffs are too tight! Why am I in custody?!" ad on and on.

So, watch this sad clown plummet as he approaches terminal velocity.

What I mean is this, is the personality that lets a kid do well on screen at an early age inherently unstable and somewhat mad to begin with, or are they driven around the bend by too early fame/riches/being exposed to the ghastly immorality and corruption of fame?

62 What the hell is happening to them during their formative years that they get this f#cked up?

The Beef was profoundly fucked up before ever getting a break. The reason I know this, is that I once read an account of *how* he got his big break. Basically, that he arrived to an audition, and managed to convince (through lies and misrepresentation) other applicants that he'd landed the spot the day before. That's not enough, though. No, the part where he bragged about it. That it was a little morality tale he told about how he was the right one for the role because he wanted it more.

So, yeah. Even as a kid, psychopath with impulse control and will to power/entitlement issues.

The couple of times I've seen him method acting, he is actually able to bring something to a role, he's actually kind of gifted in that way (Fury, for one), but at the expense of being even slightly tolerable to fellow actors.

"Okay, Shia, you're going to spend a week camping out of a tank."

107 I know that at least some of these kids are used as sex toys for rich and powerful Hollywood elites, who know that their position, politics, and power will mean they never pay a price. Guys like Jimmy Saville are more the rule than the exception. That, plus giving kids liquor and drugs to loosen them up and control them at an early age has to destroy you.

I mean, look at young Drew Barrymore. She cleaned up and ended up a bit less messed up, but she was burning through 8 balls and having orgies at 11.

I've been drunk twice in my life, mostly because I don't know anyone who's ever properly controlled their drinking, and so I have been leery about giving alcohol any purchase in my life.

>.> With that said... apparently I am a shameless flirt when drunk, but also with some measure of decency. Vaguely I remember a party at my cousin's house, attended by some folks I knew... when a one-nighter looked increasingly likely with a (let's say gifted) redhead I had a strong liking for (but who was six years my junior), I told my cousin that I had to leave the party, or I wouldn't be able to call myself a Paladin anymore. He stared at me in disbelief.

"You're serious right now? Because... you know... *motions to the redhead*
*nods gravely*
o.0 Too many video games, maybe.

I also remember absconding with my cousin's fridge afterwards... was having a hard time standing and thought the fridge was a loyal and supportive friend; had it halfway out the back door before people caught what was going on and got me sorted out.

150 At a secret meeting held once per year on New Year's Eve in the Hollywood Hills, all the world's actors gather for The Ritual.

Each writes their own name on a slip of paper, and drops it into a barrel.

Then, in deathly silence, one of the names is plucked at random from the barrel. That year's Buffoon has been selected.

Condolences are said to the devastated newly-chosen buffoon, while everyone else says "Whew!"

Each new Buffoon is designated at the actor who must become the face of Hollywood narcissism and idiocy, and must spend 12 months having a public meltdown of unparalleled proportions.

Buffoons have an option: They can follow a script (usually co-written by Quentin Tarantino and Mel Gibson), or they go "go improv."

Shia LaBoeuf, this year's buffoon, foolishly decided to go improv.

Very well done zombie movie.

Train setting is nice and generates good tension.

Not sure if it's the script or Korean culture but the ending doesn't quite get the emotional effect it's going for, even though all the parts seem to be there.

Well worth seeing, esp. if you live zombie flicks.

It's an interesting take on a zombie movie because it's playing with restrictions on space. You're on a train and there's an attack, where do you go? What do you do?

There's some interesting stuff in there culturally that I know I'm missing, even with my love of Kdramas. There's also a whiff of Lifeboat to it with the class structure of the survivors.

I mean, it's a movie, not a film, it's not speaking great truths of the Universe apart from people will do what they most to live. But I enjoyed it and thought it was well done.

340 A record 55 percent of millennial parents have had children before getting married -- compared to 25 percent of the youngest baby boomers who did the same -- and the trend could be costing them.

That's according to a new analysis of Bureau of Labor Statistics' Panel data by the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) and the Institute for Family Studies (IFS), which found that "the most financially successful young adults today continue to be those who put marriage before the baby carriage."

Specifically, 86 percent of young people who got married before having kids are among the middle or top third of earners. Just 53 percent who put childbearing first have incomes in the middle or top third, meaning 47 percent of millennials who have a baby first are considered lower income.

"Even millennials from low-income families are more likely to flourish if they married before having children: 71 percent who married before having children made it into the middle or higher end of the income distribution by the time they are age 28 to 34," the AEI and IFS report.

It's an interesting take on a zombie movie because it's playing with restrictions on space. You're on a train and there's an attack, where do you go? What do you do?

Can't do that, we're called to a much harder bit of work - that of loving our enemies, blessing those who curse us, and doing good to those who spite us.

It's the much harder road, but it will pay off in ways we cannot comprehend down the line. We've got to do our best to live this way.

I'm not saying that it is wrong to be upset, or angry, or even to sometimes wish the malingerers would get a taste of their own medicine, but that we have to keep the proper mindset no matter what stage of life we're in. To desire justice is not a bad thing - to punish evil is not a bad thing - to be angry with the evildoer is not a bad thing - what makes it bad is our attitude about these things, what we do with them in our heart. Christ exhorted us to be like God, who is kind to the unjust and the wicked - it's a hard thing to do but we've got to try.

The trick is to find that state of mind where love, justice, and mercy all come together and are the same thing. o_O I doubt if we can ever get there, but it gives us a goal to shoot for, at least.

Did P-51s have rockets? Or were those just British Typhoons and P47s?

SPR was the "Twister" of war movies--awesome cinematography, shallow plot.

I guess the problem with Michael Bay is that, unlike Spielberg, he is all special effects and no cinematogaphy.

489 I tried to watch Fury but the first minutes were so soul-grindingly depressing and dull I just moved on.
It *is* a little odd in that parts are paced like a modern movie and parts are paced like a '40s war movie like the Train. I could see that making for attention skips. Definitely meant to be depressing in the beginning.

I punched out when Brad Pitt was trying to make the unlikable wimp flat out murder a German who'd already surrendered.

This was right after being combat shy had lost lives. Norman needed to be "blooded" and lose his hesitation, which was kind of a real problem - consider the number of first time combatants that can't fire their weapon in real life, it's huge.
Also, the guy had surrendered, but had just been complicit in a number of crimes against the people there - and was in violation of uniform rules. Pitt's character always skirts the edge of what can be justified post facto, but never actually crosses it, if you're paying attention.

"Coon ass" was rapey, but not "War Daddy".

Of course, just like any cross section of society. But, not like the Russians (and I have a hard time feeling all that bad, at least where adults were involved). Reap the whirlwind and all that.

A lot of 3rd Reich apologists neonazi types and Imperial Japan revisionists and progressive leftists (Hollywood types) hype anything they can to generate moral equivalence. I'll have to check it out now.

I'm not called to do any such thing.

You only have so much time and so many resources. Every bit you waste on trying to do good things for bad people is taken away from possibly doing good things for good people, who actually deserve to have good things done for them.

Your and my life philosophies are totally different in these respects.

BoB is a great series, but it's idealized. If I had to go fight a war, I'd pick WWII against Hitler, have a "good war" and end up pissing in Hitler's Eagle Nest. Not everyone was so lucky.

Compare The Pacific, which is more realistic.

503 That may be the biggest problem with police brutality - its injudicious application. You call the police because grandpa is having a heart attack? No problem; they'll shoot him. You like your dogs? No problem, they'll shoot them. Idiot douchebag elite practically begs for a little King/Louima treatment? No problem, they'll be on their best behavior.

Posted by: FaCubeItches at July 12, 2017 05:21 PM (rznWS)

504 Fury is a good movie from a special effects point of view. Two things stick in my craw from a professional point of view. The whole shoot the captured German by forcing the new guy to do it physically. Utter, utter crap.
The fight to the end, hold the crossroads to protect a nebulous hospital from being slaughtered, plot line was fucken weak to say the least. If that tank was de-tracked by a mine on the very crossroad they were tasked to defend, well that's very unlucky. If 300 Waffen SS with light weapons and vehicles and on foot had had been spotted 1000m out on a road moving directly to you, the pros would have done this. Engage the enemy in the open with the QF 17 pounder and the .50 M2. Blase away with the .30 guns for a brass up and then bug out into the night to the nearest treeline about 500m away. The SS attack/movement would have taken at least 30% to 40 % casualties at that range with those weapons and would have stopped. By the time they had completed casualty evacuation and re-org at night and with no transport, the battle would have been over. Next morning aircraft waste the remainder of SS forces by rocket attack. Hollywood sucks dogs balls.
