Comey Releases Prepared Testimony To Be Delivered Tomorrow
He's sneakier than I predicted-- I figured he would honor his claim that he would offer "no legal conclusions," and just have his mouthpieces leak those conclusions out.
Instead, while technically offering no concrete legal conclusions, he keeps characterizing Trump's statements and actions as "concerning." Which plays right into the media's game (go figure!): the media can never tell us specifically what laws Trump is accused of violating; they mere imply that he must have broken some law. Look how concerning this all is! I'm not sure which part of the US Criminal Code covers "concerning" behavior, or whether Comey would invent an "intent" element of the Crime of Being Concerning if Hillary Clinton were to to be accused of "concerning behavior." He does confirm that he did in fact tell the president, without being asked, that he was not the subject of any investigation at least on January 6th. BTW, he did not make memos of his conversations with Obama. Fancy that!Comments

On one hand, Comey may be responsible for Trump being in office, because he let the Democrats run a transparently criminal side of beef.
On the other, Comey's failure to do his goddamn job, recommend indictment, and resign if Lynch down-twinkied him indicates that he's a desperate careerist weasel who apparently can be manipulated almost trivially, and as such manifestly unqualified for his office.
So unless there was collusion between Comey and the Trump campaign to keep Hillary simmering but not cooked through, it would make no sense that he should have had expectation of further employment after Trump's hand came off the Bible.

1) No doubt Comey is a terminal pedant, a fussy creature of protocol who obsesses over appearances. Sadly his pedentry doesn't translate to any kind of overarching respect for the Rule of Law (if it did he would have recommended Hillary Clinton be prosecuted). This makes him pretty much the worst kind of bureaucrat: someone who clearly cares much more about procedure than being a decenct human being, who values fastidious order over basic goodness.
2) Conversely, Trump has far too little respect for protocol. He always tries to make things personal. He always wants people to feel good things when they're around him, he wants people to like him. He's impulsive and careless. He like doing things from his gut rather than carefully considering things over time. He's highly improper and even inconsiderate at times.
So yeah, pretty much oil and water, Al Czervik and Judge Smails. ect.

Someone on Team Trump (Bannon?) was apparently internally arguing that Trump should upon taking office immediately fire everybody -- all the agency heads to include Comey, all the ambassadors, all of the U.S. attorneys, ERRYBODY.
Trump should be listening now to whomever it was that had offered up said advice. Taking it back then would have saved Trump a ton of trouble. Especially with the Obama holdover ambassadors, who are still snidely sniping at Trump.

My next take away is that Trump has a private meeting to tell Comey how concerned he is about leaks and Comey immediately tells a bunch of other people.
My further take away is that this is confirmation from Comey that Trump was never under criminal investigation.
I hope Trump did tape the conversations and I hope he releases them. Because, after all, we still have no confirmation this is anything other than Comey's ass covering which he himself admits.

I just don't see that based on actual historical evidence of his previous performance in political races. He does okay in his home district, mainly by having won once and being the incumbent, but nationally he's a complete failure. Kamela Harris came very close today to getting sanctioned during the hearings. She went on and on demanding that the deputy AG PUT IN WRITING that Mueller has absolute independence to do and investigate however he likes and that he cannot be fired or removed no matter what he finds by ANYONE.
That independent prosecutor statute expired because it was unconstitutional and no one would dare extend it after the Ken Starr two year investigation.
She wouldn't allow the DAG to answer , as soon as he started to explain Mueller's position, she would start shrieking at him to answer the question yes or no. The chair finally told her to allow the DAG to answer the question, the DAG was really irritated by then, he kept drinking water so his face didn't distort into a FU woman expression.

It is the demographic shift from immigration. Legals that have been naturalized and their that are kids growing up. Even more ominous is the early anchor babies are reaching voting age and will be a tsunami in 4 more years. You don't hear thei explanation as the Dems are gloating about it sorta secretly. .No matter how many times we rehash the election it was clear from 2008 that the more hillary appeared in public the worse her numbers were. There is no denying that, she is horrible in person and the DNC tried to keep her hidden away but that didn't work.
The problem was the left invested everything they had heart and soul into hillary winning and they believed their own hype and they still have not come to terms with her loss.
They had plans, huge plans to remake America and Trump stole those plans from them and now they are lashing out at him with anything they can, even stooping to actually making $hit up and printing it as news.
This is an order of magnitude worse than Bush ever faced.
