Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Whipsaw Warning: Steven Colbert's Audience Cheers at News Comey Has Been FiredThis is exactly what he should have expected, and perhaps did expect -- the left has been ginning up a Hate Comey campaign for six months, recently reinforced by Hillary Clinton's assertion that she would be president if not for Comey's October 28th information to Congress that was reviewing the emails found on Anthony Weiner's computer for possible relevance to the Hillary Clinton case. So when they heard he'd been fired, of course they cheered. However, they were on line to get into the show and sitting in the audience for a half hour. Many of them probably did not have time to be properly Socialized by "influencers" on the liberal side of things on Twitter, FaceBook, and Instagram. So many probably did not know that the Party Leadershp had declared that Emmanuel Goldstein was no longer a Traitor, but in fact a Martyr, a 180 degree reversal reached by a Consensus of Twitter Scientists in just ten minutes of primal screaming and digital animal noises.

OK, my inveterate indolence of course prevails, so anyone else happen to remember the incident (must have been June 22, 1941) where some commie idiot speaker was addressing an assembly in America, and was informed - mid-speech - of the German invasion of the USSR, and changed his pitch from pro- to anti-German, on the fly? southdakotaboy, I don't have a crystal ball, but the chances of losing the House are slim. Why? Because that body is mostly gerrmandered along partisan lines - safe GOP seats, safe Dem seats.
One of the factors leading to our situation today, where there is a basic collapse of representative govt. On the biggest issues, the country doesn't want what the Dems are offering and never did, the GOP claimed to want to oppose/do away with these unpopular things, yet in key cases simply refuses to do so. Knowing - what are you gonna do? Vote for the Dems, who have become (at the national level) a freak-show of racist authoritarians? The very stable, de facto two-party system worked for generations, mostly, and the country prospered. Now that system is a straight-jacket on the economy and civic culture. Because the GOP cannot be replaced with an actual opposition/reasonably sane responsible party, due to the inertial advantages of incumbency, and the "channeling" effect of a two-party system. Like so many in the last 20 years (the judiciary is now completely taken over by this), he literally didn't understand his job, responsibilities, or authority. *** RCP has the Dem generic ballot advantage at +5 which is down from something like +8 earlier in the year. +5D is normally a close election on the national level. Comey has been a self-aggrandizing political cock-sucker for a long time.
Comey was complicit in Lynch's hamstringing the Hillary investigation, from the start. He would never have held that press conference if Lynch hadn't been caught with Bill on the tarmac. That made Lynch set up Comey "to make the decision." Comey didn't have the balls to go against Lynch (and Obama), but he did need to cover his own ass, hence the press conference. He's done Obama and Lynch's bidding for years, but has gone rogue occasionally to maintain his false street cred as a stalwart independent defender of justice. I could go on. Am I wrong? His underlings where in revolt that he squashed the Clinton investigation, so he came out and split the baby in half be saying Clinton broke the law but no, there would be not charges. Then in reference to Russia, he came out and repeatedly said there were no broken laws, but he'd keep investigating. He should have announced Clinton was guilty as sin and the Obama administration wouldn't allow charges to move forward last year and resign over it. He would have become knows as the greatest FBI director, and likely re-hired by Trump. But he played the political game instead... . . .Comey was behind the perpetual never ending investigation of Trump/Russian collusion. He kept stirring the pot with his multiple appearances before House and Senate Committees. I counted that he made 4 of them in the last three months. And each and every time the press goes bananas in claiming this will be the final bombshell, the smoking gun as it were, and Trump will be gone. But he never says anything new and the left keeps hoping that maybe, just maybe this time will be it and Trump will be impeached and hillary will take her rightful place as President. I would like to know the answers to the following questions: Were there 39,000 or whatever the number was of Huma's emails from the Clinton server on Anthony Weiner's laptop as reported in October, 2016? Did Huma forward emails from her clintonemail.com account to Anthony Weiner to print as has been reported for months? If so, what does that mean, does it mean she forwarded those emails to another email address? If she did that, did she do it routinely as Comey testified? Were there hundreds or thousands of those emails as Comey testified? Did Huma not do that as the sources said to WaPo and CNN and whomever else yesterday, thus accusing Comey of lying to Congress? I agree that Jon Stewart really fucked up late night television with his unrelenting hate , but I have a theory that they are allowed to get away with what they do because the audience they cater to is EXACTLY the demographic that the advertisers who buy commercials on their shows want. Upscale urban liberals with the means--and the wherewithal-- to buy their products. It's not that there aren't conservatives with piles of money. It's just that most of them are not "hip" enough to spend money on what they're selling.
Which also explains why FOX is loaded with catheter commercials and William Devane selling gold and silver. Posted by: JoeF. at May 10, 2017 03:32 PM (7uYFy) 199

Democrats (who are still running the country) and appoint a special prosecutor *** You would think Republicans, even the GOPe, would learn that these kind of surrenders never help them. Hell, if Trump wanted to help himself, he'd call for a special prosecutor for the Clinton foundation and the Clinton leaks, say something publicly like; "It has only been revealed to me now how badly Comey mismanaged the FBI. While I have full faith that his replacement will correct the ship, unfortunately based on how we now know the FBI made political decisions to not investigate the Clinton scandals, I am forced to call for an outside counsel to get to the bottom of it." Personnel is policy. It took a while to get Sessions and the rest of the cabinet in place, and then Deputy AG Rosenstein - Comey's direct boss - was confirmed and sworn in only two weeks ago. We are in a long fight with the left, and we need to get the right team in place for battle. Patience.
You really want Koskinen fired. But Koskinen works for SecTreas Mnuchin, and PDT's first priority for Mnuchin is tax reform. Comey really screwed up last July 5. Lynch wasn't going to come clean on her own about her clandestine tarmac meeting with Bill C, but thanks to a local reporter that cat got out of the bag. Where it gets even funnier, now, is the Trump team is firing Comey for getting out of line and not leaving the HRC prosecution decision to the then Deputy AG, Sally Yates. Hilarious. The odd thing is there isn't even the possibility of a crime with Trump/Russia.
The argument against Trump, as far as can be pieced together, is that he agreed to not go to war with Russia (as Hillary wanted) in return for Russia revealing that Hillary was breaking the law. Now, there is no evidence that Trump had such a negotation. There is also no evidence that Russia was behind the the leaks that established Clinton's illegalities (the evidence points to a murdered DNC staffer interestingly). It is against the law to hack into someone's email/servers, however the reason we don't have a suspect is that the Democrats refused to cooperate with the FBI. It is also not a crime for a president to choose to not start a war just because his political opponent wanted one. Many years ago, in a former life, I was finally sent to Navy AC&R "C" School in Norfolk. I had to work my way all the way up to the Department Head to get them to really understand that they were teaching the System Cleaner module exactly ass backwards. And that even the connections to the system were incorrect. In this life, a neighbor had me sit in while a Tech diagnosed a York unit. My last contact with York Corporate was that they would let the Tech know that his diagnosis was incorrect. Some are evil.
Posted by: 18-1 at May 10, 2017 03:47 PM (eSx+E) It seems to me that the whole story is based on Trump jokingly imploring Russia "to find those e-mails", and Paul Manafort having business ties with Russia. The Trump Russian collusion thing started out as a DNC media attack. That's all it was. Somehow that attack was enough justification for Lynch to order an investigation by the FBI. *** Early on after 9/11, Bill Clinton had said something along the lines of, "I wish 9/11 had happened on my watch so that I could have done great things." I presume that Hillary's desired war made since to her for a multitude of reasons: 1) It would give "the first female president" hard core geopolitical credit, presuming she won of course. Remember the US hasn't cleanly won a war since 1945... 2) The left used to claim that Bush 43 was going to use the WoT to round them up. He didn't of course, but we know the left's penchant for projection. And it looks like the left and their media allies were prepared to take on opposition to their agenda as Russian stooges... 3) China has bought a large stake in the Clintons, and they'd prefer the US and Russia to weaken each other. 4) The Sunni Gulf states have also bought a large stake in the Clintons (remember the Saudis claim they funded a quarter of Hillary's presidential campaign) - they would love for Russia to stop support Assad and Iran in Syria to allow their ISIS friends to win the war... And it took this long to fire him. Why? Because Trump is a genius. All this "start a war with Russia" stuff is, well, nonsense.
Hillary wasn't going to start any wars, esp. with Russia. First, exactly how would such a war take place? Where? Over what? What would be the objectives? Which forces would be used? There is no serious answer to any of these basic questions. Even if one assumes - and this is so outlandish as to be an unserious assumption just for discussion's sake - that Russia would do something big and stupid and aggressive requiring *some* kind of US response, what, exactly, would we do? Putin grabs Lithuania (again, absurd, no gain for Russia in doing so, hasn't crossed his mind). US move: ...... umm ..... we don't have the ability to directly counter, on the ground. So .... ummm, what follows? Start a naval war at sea? Attack Russian territory? Ridiculous. None of this is even slightly plausible. Hillary is a dumb, sociopathic criminal. And very unsophisticated about the world (like so many high-ranking people in the Beltway). Surrounded by dim bulbs and lightweights and Beltway horse-holders. But there was no way for her to start a war with Russia, even if she wanted to, for which there is no evidence, either. Posted by: rhomboid at May 10, 2017 03:59 PM (PjWy4) 312

"The speech had been proceeding for perhaps twenty minutes when a messenger hurried on to the platform and a scrap of paper was slipped into the speaker's hand. He unrolled and read it without pausing in his speech. Nothing altered in his voice or manner, or in the content of what he was saying, but suddenly the names were different. Without words said, a wave of understanding rippled through the crowd. Oceania was at war with Eastasia! The next moment there was a tremendous commotion. The banners and posters with which the square was decorated were all wrong! Quite half of them had the wrong faces on them. It was sabotage! The agents of Goldstein had been at work! There was a riotous interlude while posters were ripped from the walls, banners torn to shreds and trampled underfoot." - George Orwell, 1984 Posted by: SaltyDonnie at May 10, 2017 04:05 PM (i6shs) 336

Yes, Hillary's campaign team came up with a plan to separate Trump from some of his supporters , he was a Russian stooge. This required Hillary to be gung ho anti Russian, to the point of basically campaigning on war with Russia.
So anybody associated with Trump's campaign with any association with Russians, whether private or governmental became a target as "proof" that Trump was a Russian stooge. Binders of Russians. Posted by: Deplorable Jay Guevara at May 10, 2017 04:07 PM (SRKgf) 346
Hillary can be overly aggressive because she needs to make up for "being a woman."
When close to real power she can do stupid things -- like Libya. Like enabling Baby ISIS. She talked about being aggressive against Assad which means she could have blundered her way into a military incident in Syria. Might not have been a big hot war, but it could have been bad. There's all sorts of other things she could have fucked up militarily. Posted by: Ignoramus at May 10, 2017 04:07 PM (SIY7D) 347

=========== I may be giving Trump too much credit, but it looks as though he left Comey in office long enough to be vilified by the Hillary and the Left for costing her the election, then shitcanned him so they then had to reverse polarity on a dime and hold him out as a martyr, and thereby kick their own credibility in the balls. I have never set up a twitter account, so take this with a grain of salt. But, if you don't give twitter any real info, then they can't dox you. They can only out the character you have created.
So, make a new email address at one of the webmail joints. Conceal your ip address by using an vpn (there are open/free ones). Any questions they ask you when setting up the account, give them answers that correspond to your character, nothing that matches the real you. Posted by: Anon Y. Mous Thx! To say that Soros is a 'business man' like Trump is a business man is to completely miss the point.
Trump is a capitalist who wants to make money and is doing so, hire people to work for him and pay them well for the work they do. Soros is a Fascist and wants political power so he can take wealth from those who have it, for political reasons; i.e. he wants power so he can get the money. He uses money to get more political power. Posted by: Frenzel Le Indolant at May 10, 2017 04:24 PM (FvR1t) 429

Yes. The Left has politicized everything, which is all kinds of bad. Sports, late-night talk shows, most entertainment-- most used to be apolitical, but now deciding where to eat is a political act. It's a lovely little book, and it's been decades since I read it, but really, the real thing is more telling of how this current thing is reflected in it.
In other words, everyone who loved Comey last year, then hated him this year, and now love him again, that was what the Soviets did. In 1941. They had to. Pretty much overnight, and their lackeys in the Western media scooped it up, and swore up and down that they had always been opposed to Nazi Germany. Eh, no. Posted by: BurtTC at May 10, 2017 04:12 PM (TOk1P) I don't know that I'd describe 1984 as "lovely." George Orwell based his descriptions on the mental twists and turns of the Communists during the Stalinist era. Posted by: Donna and V. 242 It was quickly pulled in favor of a rush-recorded album imploring FDR to "fight Hitler."
*** Amusing fact of the day. In the 1940 presidential campaign, publicly FDR claimed he would never send American boys to fight in a European war. Comey's short-circuiting of the process remind's of John Robert's SCOTUSCare decisions.
They both short-circuited the political processes. Roberts should have ruled on the actual law and then let the Congress hash it out with the Executive. Comey should have reported to Lynch and let the chips fall for voters to decide. All the subterfuge by the entire Democrat leadership--including Comey--only got them a scheming power-mad grafter for a candidate. Posted by: The Gipper Lives at May 10, 2017 06:38 PM (Ndje9) 450
