"Smoking Gun" Proof That Obama Spied on Political Opponents Coming This Week?
Obama's spied on so many journalists you have to be specific about the spelling of their names.Republican congressional investigators expect a potential "smoking gun" establishing that the Obama administration spied on the Trump transition team, and possibly the president-elect himself, will be produced to the House Intelligence Committee this week, a source told Fox News. Classified intelligence showing incidental collection of Trump team communications, purportedly seen by committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., and described by him in vague terms at a bombshell Wednesday afternoon news conference, came from multiple sources, Capitol Hill sources told Fox News. The intelligence corroborated information about surveillance of the Trump team that was known to Nunes, sources said, even before President Trump accused his predecessor of having wiretapped him in a series of now-infamous tweets posted on March 4. The intelligence is said to leave no doubt the Obama administration, in its closing days, was using the cover of legitimate surveillance on foreign targets to spy on President-elect Trump, according to sources. The key to that conclusion is the unmasking of selected U.S. persons whose names appeared in the intelligence, the sources said, adding that the paper trail leaves no other plausible purpose for the unmasking other than to damage the incoming Trump administration. This is what I was getting at when I asked "what happens when the deep state turns against itself?" because not every one in the IC is of one political mind. Many contractors and civilian employees are former military continuing to do what they used to do after retiring from active service. So expecting this stuff to stay secret with a change in administrations (and Obama to Trump is about as wild a swing as you can expect) was always foolish. Why they didn't drop this nonsense immediately and head for cover is something I guess that can only be explained by hubris.

Let me humbly suggest a better way to look at this:

The left didn't get to Obamunist Care outright. They had Medicare, Medicaid expansion, Medicare Part D, covering minor out of pocket stuff like birth control, covering this for this group and that for that group, etc.
Trump is a wheeler-dealer. We all knew that. He wants to partially repeal and declare some kind of victory.
How to handle that? Get to work on a better bill that repeals more Obamunist crap, implements more market forces, brings health insurance costs down, avoids the "moral hazards" from "Pre-existing condition" caterwauling to demanding minor things like birth control be covered by insurance (gee-what would oil changes and car insurance cost if oil changes were paid by 3rd party car insurance?), and so on.
And pass it and let Trump bask in the glory of signing THAT. And so on, and so on, and so on.
Yes, dishonest Demunists and wimpy RINOs/Cuckservatives/Vichy Republicans will always be in the way. Duh. We knew that from the get go.

It seems to me that Trump is cutting his losses as to Time. If the various factions in the GOP house cannot get together and put something of a bill now - they disagree too much - then perhaps it is best to not waste anymore time on it and move on to something else.
Perhaps continue closed door talks and negotiations out of the light of the cameras (where these jokers love to strut about) and see if something can be worked out after ObamaCare blows up some more and the urgency becomes more apparent.

The current Obamacare repeal bill is being done on the 2017 budget. It was authorized on January 12th of this year.
The rest of the things that Trump wants to do including tax reform are planned to be done under the 2018 budget. They can't do that until the 2017 budget issues are done.

I don't know what will eventually happen, but politically I have to say it would be best for Trump to just move on if the Republican Congress can't move forward with something.
We can't spend the rest of the term fighting this out if both sides aren't going to give an inch. There are other important items on the agenda like tax reform.

Politically/procedurally/substantively best way to repeal O-care has been clear all along. Xerox elements passed via reconciliation in 2009, and repeal those the same way on this bill. Very quickly pass remaining repeal elements - and (this is inherently tricky) any "replace" elements through the House, dump onto the Senate.
Let the Senate Dems from Trump states up in '18 stand in the way, as O-care proper continues to disintegrate, the individual/small group markets continue to writhe in agony (with substantial economic effect). They either go along, or bye-bye to many/all of them in '18.
Meanwhile Price via administrative means delivers as much relief as possible to the most seriously affected victims of this idiocy.
Separate Medicaid, entirely, in every step of this process (two bills, the Medicaid part having very low urgency or importance). There is zero inherent connection between Medicaid expansion and the huge damage wrought on finances and freedom by O-care. Zero.
And this phased approach should be accompanied by written commitments from the WH and GOP leadership in both houses to all the key elements. Ink is OK, blood not neccessary.
IF true, the report yesterday that a last-ditch "concession" to the Freedom Caucus was the huge, central (and totally non-germane to a reconciliation bill) repeal of individual insurance minimum policy requirements sort of completely vaporizes any good-faith claim that the distinctive requirements of the reconciliation process are a factor here.

1. Since when has a congressional inquiry resulted in anything but YouTube clips to include in fundraising emails since the internet was invented?
2. If I were in charge of the FBI and had an ongoing investigation on something, I would send "we do not comment on or confirm the existence of investigations" letter to the first congress critters who's staff member sent an inquiry for nothing but PR purpose, then ignore the rest as a waste of time.

This will be nice but it was never a secret that Barky turned every power of government within his reach into an assault group aimed at his political enemies - i.e. Americans. This went on throughout his illegitimate Precedency and was never in doubt. The problem is that the Vichy GOP Congress refused to do anything about it. They sat by and watched hundreds, literally, of un-Constitutional and criminal attacks on conservatives and conservative groups by the politicized powers of the Executive branch and just twiddled their thumbs.
No one with a brain ever doubted that Barky spied on Trump. Barky had all but said so and his entire history occupooping the Oval Office showed that that was exactly how he operated. This is why it was incumbent on the GOP turds to impeach the POS, whether or not they could get a Senate conviction didn't matter. They were bound to do what was right. But they were girlymen and collaborators and just let Barky twist the power of the feral government to his America-hating political ends from the day he slimed into office until ... well, until today. And they'll let him continue to get away with all this shit tomorrow, too.
Trump, for his part, did the same with Shrillary. That bullshit on election night where he tried to claim that Shrillary was some sort of normal human ... that was retarded. Shrillary was, and remains, a lowlife criminal and deserves to be fully investigated for her crimes. Letting her go was just stupid and it was wrong.
