Hell, Trump is proposing YUUUGE new spending and has said time after time that he will not touch SS or Medicare, the things that are busting the budget so let's not pretend anyone really gives too much of a crap about debt. Ryan actually ran with Romney on a platform specifically talking about reforming both SS and Medicare. Nancy Pelosi even made an ad about him throwing grandma off a cliff.
Let's see what Ryan does now that he has a Republican President, even one who appears to not be all that interested in the debt.

Huh? Have you ever seen a Democrat budget? Doubtful since they haven't bothered with one in over 8 years but it would look nothing like Ryan's. Yes, the left squealed when the saw it. They will squeal no matter what anyone on the right proposes.
Why propose it? Because he was the head of the House Budget Committee, it was his job to propose one even if Obama was going to ignore it. There were also a couple elections over that period and Republicans were running on that budget. They own the House now. It was helpful.
I understand that some people want the House to basically close DC completely and not spend any money at all. That's not going to happen. This is the art of the possible and it is not going to all happen over night no matter how much anyone screams.

O/T We recently received a subpoena for medical records for a patient as well as any correspondence, including emails about the patient's care. I asked our IT department yesterday to search the email server and provide the results to me.
They brought the CD up to me today and I began going through the emails to see what was pertinent, to redact any PHI for other patients, etc. I found quite a few personal conversations interspersed throughout which were all Trump bashing. I so badly want to let these people know I've been reading their emails, but alas, I would be fired.
