Drudge Report Gets Blacked Out For 90 Minutes by DDOS Attack; Drudge Suggests Attack Mounted by US Government

Here's the thing -- he has as much evidence for that as the politicized US intelligence agencies have for saying Russia is definitely behind the DNC hack.

Basically he has an event and and an enemy with a motive. Which is what politicized intelligence agencies have.

23 Considering the government has consistantly considered Drudge as more dangerous than Islamists the last 8 years, they put him on the "Fake News" list, and the signing of the "Combating Disinformation and Propaganda Act of 2017", I'd say it is highly probable.

DHS did attempt to hack into the state of Georgia's voter data base multiple times.

It's past time to see the writing on the wall. We The People are seen as enemies of the state by our own government.

Word is that the evidence that it had to be the Russians is pretty thin, as generic methods of hacking and phishing were used. Do the Russians (and others) have better tools, including because they don't leave digital fingerprints?

Why would the Federal Government Under Obama DDOS Drudge? What's the point?

And it wouldn't be 'the federal government' it would be a department - The Federal Department of Hacking, probably in Commerce, or maybe part of that Bureau of Countering Misinformation in the Department of Truth.

If that is the case, then it all becomes clear. The Federal Ministry of Truth's war on fake news is countering malicious misinformation by DDOSing web sites off the internet. But 90 minutes doesn't seem to have any effect. If you are going to DDOS a site, you have to drive them off the 'net permanently.

Wouldn't it be simpler to just arrest the people at the site and shut it down?

There are websites where they create visual representations of current cyber attacks overlaid on a map to show origination and destination. Some of those attacks are indeed internal to the US. Now, that could be regaining control of something after it was attacked from some other source, but given O's propensities it could be a direct attack on US servers for groups he doesn't like.

92 I got into a bit of a spat with someone on twitter who apparently took umbrage to my position that I'm not going to just trust either the US government or Putin.

The other person pointed to yesterday's FBI report as proof that the Russians hacked the election. As I read the report, there is proof (supposedly) that Russian backed entities hacked a US political party but I saw nothing in there that the Russians released the info to Wikileaks. Remember, Assange (whom I also don't just trust) said the emails didn't come to them from the Russians but from a DNC staffer.

Now I'm seeing stuff that the FBI report simply lumped a bunch of groups together and said totes Russians.

I know that distributed Horde knowledge is a terrifying thing so if some Hordeling would do me the courtesy of using the puppets to explain if the FBI report is credible or not, I would appreciate it.

118 Several things about Russia hacking the election have always confused me...

1) When they say "Russia" do they mean "some guy in Russia," or the Russian government?
2) Wikileaks which posted the info has said, repeatedly, that they didn't get the info from the Russians, but from someone "inside the tent", which is, how they have always worked in the past. Why would they lie?
3) The hack wasn't of the election machines- it didn't directly change the vote, it just revealed unsavory things about democrats, which may have influenced people to vote against them.
4) Nothing so revealed has been denied.
4) One of the things revealed - Donna Brazille was passing debate questions to Hillary. Fair to say Hillary "hacked" the election as well? Why not? How was that different than what the "Russians" did?

Posted by: George Orwell's Ghost at December 30, 2016 01:07 PM (UgF8H)

119 The Russian Hawks need to understand...we have a bigger problem to America than Russia. In fact we have several problems that are bigger threats than Russia.

It does not mean you don't prepare for the worst with Russia, but that does not mean Russia right now is the worst.

This freak out over Russia and the election is right out of the George Soros / leftist playbook of starting chaos and civil wars. It also reminds me how stupid some Russian Hawks are. They will agree to anything if it means getting Russia, including helping Jihadist groups in places like Syria, Chechnya, etc. Who cares if those Jihadists rape and enslave children, who cares if they kill Americans: "Get Russia" is their motto.

Proof: Most Russian hawks wanted Hillary as President!

That is when you know we are not on the same team. I don't trust Russia, but I know the difference in threat levels to my republic...and Hillary was a bigger threat to America.

156 Hmm, seems that NorK's have hacked my computer, I have nothing but pre-release Sony material filling the cloud. Damn you, Kim!

But in all this Russian hacking hoopla going on, there remains one pressing question.

The JAR is a report that supposedly details the Russian machinery, then attributes all the work to 2 groups APT28 and APT29 allegedly associated with Russian Intelligence Services. 3 pages of a lot of nothing substantial, and 9 pages of network security advice. It is a whole lot of nothing, dubious analysis at best.

True, this is unclassified, and it is possible that classified briefs are more comprehensive, including MAC addresses, IP's, routing information that ties directly to Russian computer networks and the whole pathway information as to how the "stolen" emails traveled to Russia, where they could be further "delivered" to Wikileaks.

The question is not if the Russians did it, the question is what impact did it actually have? The MSM ignored the emails, reporting as minimally as they could. The whole wikileaks fiasco was covered by Breitbart and Drudge in more detail, but largely the MSM squished the email story into the Hillary "server conundrum" which did little to sway the election.

The Dem's who left the reservation to vote Trump, would have done it without the email, foundation, server, graft and Bill's alleged assaults. The country was and remains in horrible shape. The legacy of Obama will be an Olympic level climb from the abyss; internationally and domestically. Too many realized that voting for Hillary was to reach bottom and keep digging, they responded appropriately.

But the hacking did not affect the vote. The LIV's could not be bothered to demand, investigate or show any real interest in the ramifications of what was being said in the DNC and Hillary campaign emails.

165 Republicans need to stop falling for the Russian hack story.

Exactly. Nobody "hacked the election" whatever the hell that's supposed to mean. Wikileaks states (repeatedly) that they got their DNC emails from a disgruntled Sanders supporter working inside the DNC -- the very man who mysteriously died shortly after the leaks.

Did Russians phish (not hack) the DNC emails? Maybe, but we don't know. Someone apparently did, because the Democrats sent out an email telling everyone it had happened (and, almost inconceivably, included the new password in that email). Their password was, apparently "passw0rd" as if nobody could possibly crack that.

And I wouldn't put it past the Russians to want to influence our election. They've tried to for nearly 100 years. So has Israel, England, Germany, China, and pretty much everyone else. I don't like that, but its not new. And its not like Saudis basically buying the Clinton campaign or the Obama campaign blatantly taking foreign donations for his elections.

But nobody "hacked" the election. And as Alex notes, even if the Russians did "hack" the emails and released them, all they did was show the truth. Nobody, anywhere, disputes the validity of those emails.

Yeah, they are annoying. But in a weird, backhanded way, this "division" between Trump and the GOPe has worked to the benefit of both so far. They both won in November.
Besides, there's probably nothing there regarding the "Russia hacked the election" so the GOPe gets to act like they are above partisanship knowing that there's nothing there.

The Russians are great people individually, but their government is a brutal tyranny barely removed from Communism, and they've always been a pain in the ass opposing the USA in every way. They almost certainly have been hacking the US and interfering in our election, as they always have. Its dumb for the right to act like this is inconceivable or the Russians are saints mistreated by a horrible man.

What's wrong here isn't the idea of Russian interference, but the blatantly politicized and obvious fake outrage, after multiple examples of hacking and interference that this administration didn't give a crap about. Its that this is fake and simply meant to discredit the incoming president, not that its false or impossible.

237 They are Private Property, even if owned by a Foreign Government... Did he get a Warrant? Did he get a Court Order? Where is the due process of Law to essentially SEIZE private property?

Obama said it is against Russia...therefore it is law.

If you put "Anti-Russian" or "Pro-Free Trade" on any policy you will get Ryan, McConnell & Co. to agree even if it has nothing to do with Russia or Free Trade.

239 There's more hard evidence, Barack Obama is a foreign born interloper, then 'Russia hacked the election'.

But on the point of 'hacked the election'. Whenever the subject is asserted, those doing the assertion should be forced to define what they mean.

Typically they are referring to the Podesta Emails, but mean to imply the Russian rigged voting machines and ballots.

If they are talking about Podesta's Emails, then its categorical, the Russians were not involved.

If they mean rigging voting machines, well then the only voting irregularities to have been shown were indeed in Hillary's and not Trump's favor.
