The Morning Report 11/16/16 [J.J. Sefton]

wed.jpg

Good morning, kids. Hump day's here. Lots of rumors speculating about cabinet picks. I've noted that Kris Kobach is a dark horse for AG, and even Lyin' Ted is being considered. No matter what, the biggest hurdle we face is the entrenched bureaucracy, which is 100% Leftist no matter who is president, as well as the GOP-e. McConnell and Ryan are never to be trusted. Anyway, have a better one and remain blessed.

They went nuts in Athens protesting the Jug-eared douchebag. And those rioters weren't bought and paid for rent-a-thugs. They blame SCOAMF for 8 years of misery.

True, they only have themselves to blame for their slovenly Uncle Baklava attitude. But still. It's a giant 'fuck you" to him.

Today is Wednesday, November 16, 2016. On this day in 1990 the pop group Milli Vanilli were stripped of their Grammy Award because the duo did not sing at all on the Girl You Know It's True album. Session musicians had provided all the vocals. After watching the film "The Wrecking Crew" it seems to me that this was a lot more common than anyone in the public ever knew. The session musicians that later became known as the wrecking crew provided not only the music, but also a lot of the vocals for some of the biggest known groups of the 60s and 70s. But they didn't do ALL the vocals.

Why the Big Lie About Steve Bannon?

http://bit.ly/2ggr0Mg

excerpt

We have learned from the sewage-storm directed at Bannon that the Establishment plays dirty, and that the formerly Republican #NeverTrumpers aren't just misguided ideologues, but also yellow-bellied, gutter-crawling, backstabbing, bushwhacking liars. Hell hath no fury like a self-designated elite scorned.

They hate Steve Bannon because he beat them, fair and square, on the battlefield of social media. He is the president-elect's most effective general. Trump's enemies can't reverse the results of a national election, but they can try to cut the incoming president off from his popular base.

The charges against Steve Bannon are a tissue of lies without a modicum of merit.

If Trump just stops the diversion of money through the risk corridor program to the insurance Companies it will die on it's own fairly quickly. No insurers willing to lose money on those policies means nothing for the Fed to offer on the exchanges, so it dies.

Congress will have to clean up the mess around the edges for things like the fine for not having insurance and the employer mandate that hasn't really kicked in yet, but that's just administrative details.

You can thank the liberal courts for him. I am now convinced that SC's open primaries keep him from getting bounced during the primaries. The blacks in SC know that they can never get a Democrat elected in SC now, so during the primaries they cross the line to vote in the SC primary to vote for him. The Republicans have sued twice to get the primaries closed and the courts throw them out every time.

185 Trump family dinner raises issues on press access

President-elect Donald Trump emerged from his New York skyscraper Tuesday night for the first time in days, moving about the nation's largest city without a pool of journalists on hand to ensure the public has knowledge of his whereabouts.

The president-elect spent about two hours dining with family at the 21 Club, a restaurant a few blocks from his Trump Tower residence. Journalists were only aware that Trump was leaving home when they spotted a large motorcade pulling away from the building, including an ambulance with lights flashing.

Oh my God, what a Nazi! He ditched the MFM to have dinner with his family. I hope he treats them with utter contempt

192 " the narrative, is not on about antisemitism, but rather about the alt-right. "

Remember that the term "alt-right" had an evolving meaning.

At the beginning, people used the phrase alt-right to describe being right wing, but not in the standard republican structure - the structure that Trump ran against in the primary.

From there, the elitist on the right and the crazy fucks on the left kept describing "alt-right" as the racist fringe, trying to link Trump with Nazis and the KKK.

Even Ace was snookered into that narrative and continually shit himself for a period of days every time someone mentioned the alt-right or, for some unknown reason, the word "cuck".

I'm sure that if you look back into some of the Brietbart articles, you may find someone saying "we are the alt-right", meaning that yes, we are a different group than the National Review and the Federalist.

The lies of the mainstream media just won't stop.

201 Because I like patting myself on the back...

I said when they were pushing Obamacare that if it ever got passed, there'd be hell to pay before they ever repealed it because Obamacare is a necessity - not for people to have healthcare, but for the government to be able to continue to "power through" the crushing debt and obligations if they want to keep the same, and perpetually growing, government status quo of well heeled politicians and benefactors, and otherwise reluctant dependable voters feeding at the trough.

Admit it. I'm a genius.

Middle grandbaby goes to a charter school. He got in by a lottery system. Daughter wanted him in there because the class sizes are smaller, they have higher expectations, and the classes are more focused on doing rather than sitting. He is not a visual learner - he needs a more hands-on style.

I suppose the kids might tend to be at a higher level because of the self-selection process. Parents have to seek it out and sign up for a bunch of commitments. also, no transportation is provided. But as a rule the kids don't get in because they are smarter. This might vary state to state.

230 If Trump just keeps his promises on undoing what obama did with his pen and phone he will not need to have any input whatsoever from Congress and I find that very refreshing.

Congress can pi$$ and moan all they want but he does not have to have their support or cooperation to rid the Country of most of obama's legacy because it was all done by his Cabinet picks and his non-treaty treaties.

His pen and phone comment is going to come back and bite him on the ass because Trump is most definitely going to use it on the left and the press.

If Trump only undoes the immigration mess and gets a decent SCOTUS pick or two he will have surpassed my wildest hopes, anything more than that is a bonus IMO.

From the American Thinker article link above:

"The weapon Trump has to fight bureaucratic control is to remind the
bureaucrats that their Federal unions were created by executive order,
EO 10988 issued by JFK in 1962. Anything created by an EO can be
abolished by an EO. Only Trump can use an EO as a trump card since he is
not beholden to unions, unlike the presidents before him."

Most of the $$ to do the attack ads came from here. Two birds one
stone. Disarm the bureaucracy and shut down the Dem Union money
laundrymat.

Posted by: Dirks Strewn at November 16, 2016 08:10 AM (kfcYC)

Yes I have posted this numerous times before. JFK "enabled" government workers to join a union by executive order. But, congress followed that up and passed a permanent law making it so.
Democrats were in firm control of everything in those days and they knew just as well as everybody else that anything done by EO can be undone by EO.

But where has the Republican Congress been since then?

Let the free market reign.

She said one time, he decided to go for it, and tried to kiss right on the mouth. She pushed him away, and says Roger then asked, "Now exactly when does your contract expire?"

If this is so, this meant she didn't say a word about this going on, and publicly praised Ailes, how he was her mentor. That was in her interests to build her career. And then, when Gretchen fired, she joined in.

In this whole mess, she's guided by her own self interest and ambition, never principle, it seems.

A great read. I read it just before coming here and the bile and hate is real. I got a dose of it yesterday when a knee-jerk liberal went on a sneer rant against Bannon. I'm sure he's never read a Breitbart article, but that hardly matters.

The Left has to shift the narrative quickly from the whipping they received from the American electorate. Seguing to Trump is a fascist is SOP.

I watched a PBS news program for a few minutes, listening to a news guy interviewing a couple of hard-left "political analysts" about the Bannon appointment, and the anti-Semitic, fascist, extremist, and other calumnies streamed out in a smooth, unreflective monotone. I think Public Broadcasting deserves hard scrutiny. It's a den of prog propagandists subsidized by the taxpayers.

On one hand, yes, the laundromat is not cheap and neither is detergent. On the other hand, if you've got time and money for air-brushed nails you've got time and money for laundry.

In my language class, we were often given a topic and asked to talk about how it is in our homeland. The German-born teacher didn't believe me when I said schools serve breakfast and lunch, even in school holidays, because there are parents who can't even put together a bowl of cereal (and why would they bother when they've been taught that someone else will do it for them?). And the integration course here was very emphatic that the parents have the responsibility to care for their own children. No one here will do your child's laundry because you are expected to do it. It's an alien world.

This x1000. If Trump buckles now, or if he lets Bannon leave in order to "distract" MFM fire against his administration, then he's dead in the water before he even takes the oath.

I'm not on twitter, but we know Trump is. Perhaps there should be a pushback encouraging him to keep Bannon?

so it's bigger than Canada's shale find it says in your link

Northwest Territories sitting on massive shale oil reserves on par with booming Bakken field in U.S.

The first official estimate of how much oil may lie beneath the central Northwest Territories says there could be nearly 200 billion barrels of the resource in two separate fields.

The National Energy Board and the Northwest Territories Geological Survey warn that not all of that oil will be recoverable.

But if even a few per cent of it is economically viable, it confirms previous suggestions the Canol and Bluefish shales hold up to seven billion barrels of recoverable oil and could be comparable to North Dakota's booming Bakken field.

No, I didn't, Anna, thank you. 106! Good for her.

As anyone who has seen the Spanish Dracula can tell you, Tovar was quite lovely and very sexy. She loved, in her later years, to tell the story of how her grandson came to visit after he'd seen Dracula and said, admiringly, "Now I know why Grandfather married you!"

Here's a nice cheesecake pic:

Yeah, apparently many states have that provision, which I did not know. Something about dates being established to provide for transportation of ballots by stagecoaches. It would be interesting to go back into past elections and see when Michigan has typically called their elections. My suspicion is they did not wait this long to call it for Barry Soetero.

439 " Democrats have lost the white male vote because they feel like Democrats don't like them."

Manchen also mentioned how laws helping blacks transition more fully into society, turned into treating all "minorities" from anywhere gain privilege over whites in jobs and education.

So in coal mining country, the poor pockets of white populations are treated as "privileged", whereas illegals pouring across the borders are somehow entitled to special status due to slavery and Jim Crow laws.

Of course Democrats and their army of Hollywood and media SJWs have set about destroying white America, or make them shamed submissives. We are blocking their path toward global totalitarian law, from where Soros types would love to wield their iron fist.

And, more than that, raising the minimum wage will help absolutely no one as inflation overtakes the increase. All you'll do is force more people who've worked their way OFF of minimum wage back on to it as the artificial increase swallows up their gains.

Redefining the BOTTOM in MORE INCREMENTS doesn't change the fact that its STILL THE BOTTOM. It just devalues the dollars you increment it in.

If the Democrats succeed in abolishing the Electoral College would we go
to a runoff system? No one got 50% this time. Maybe we would keep the
provision in the Constitution where if no one gets a majority it goes to
Congress, but a majority of the popular vote instead of the electors.
Obviously they aren't thinking that far ahead.

Posted by: zmdavid at November 16, 2016 09:23 AM (xqRaG)

A. This is NEVER going to happen. Never.B. If it did (and it WON'T. EVER) the closest thing to a fair way to do it would be to tally the popular vote in each state, and award the electoral votes per state according to popular vote percentage. So for example, my state NY has 29 electoral college votes. if the popular vote goes 60% for the dem and 40% for the Rep, you'd split the electoral votes 18 for the dem and 11 for the rep.
This is actually a pretty fair way to do this, but the Dems would not be so happy about the results, I bet. :-)

he minimum wage has to go up. People are -- at least $10, but it has to
go up. But I think that states -- federal -- I think that states should
really call the shot. As an example, I live in New York. It's very
expensive in New York. You can't buy a hot dog for the money you're
talking about. You go to other states and it's not expensive at all. Now
what it does is puts New York at a disadvantage if the minimum wage is
up, companies move out and things, bad things happen. At the same time,
people have to be taken care of. But what I'm really going to do on the
minimum wage -- but it has to go up.. .. So I would like to raise it to
at least $10."

Posted by: Sebastian Melmoth at November 16, 2016 09:30 AM (QGpIE)

When I lived in upstate NY it wasn't that much more expensive than some of the other places. It depended on where you lived. Everything is expensive as hell in NYC, but go a few hundred miles North and East and it changes.

But the wages in NYC are also much higher to make up for that. There should be no minimum wage. Nobody actually works for the minimum wage anyhow except teenage frycooks and new-hires in the first 3 months.

Same - I hope Trump demonstrates why you *don't* want a president that pays for your birth control, negotiates your wage/raises, tells you what to eat, watches your favorite HBO shows, makes a statement at every dang major sporting event, etc.
