The Morning Report 11/15/16 [J.J. Sefton]

WC.jpg

Good morning, kids. The Left continues to melt down but it's up to Trump to stand strong and not cave in to the Democrats. I hope Pence and Bannon pull more weight than Priebus in directing policy and appointments. I mean, really, Mitt's niece to head the RNC? What was this election about anyway? Have a better one and remain blessed.

Yep. The tricky part about those liberal machines is making sure they don't get power, so they can't take you down with them. All of them are inevitably self-destructive, because the root of their philosophy is self-refuting nonsense.

I don't have a problem with Trump's adult kids getting clearances. He reportedly likes to ask for their opinions on things, and he probably doesn't want to have to worry about saying things to them that they're not cleared to hear.

At least he is taking the proper precautions, not like Hillary, who emailed classified info to Chelsea so her crooked husband could trade on it, and had her dumb-ass MB aide Huma walking around leaving classified secrets in unlocked cars, on unsecured perverts' laptops, etc.

Yes, it's long past time to take action against these so-called "sanctuaries." No locality in the U.S. has the right to declare itself immune from federal laws it doesn't like, otherwise they all do, and then we have anarchy.

66 On Mitt's niece for RNC chair:

1. It's the digitus impudicus to Mitt. Ronna gave 110% to winning Michigan for Trump. The family is now split because of it. Deeply split.

2. The RNC infrastructure is abysmal. Their data base, "Data Center", manages to get about 25% of the voters and information right. On a good day. It's managed and maintained by people whose knowledge of Information Science stopped growing in 1988. (And, no, that is most definitely NOT an exaggeration.) This is what Priebus wanted.

3. Under Priebus, we had useless "interns" with a one week orientation dumped into counties telling people with decades of experience how to win elections. Which was based on identifying voter preferences, then starting two weeks out on calling self-identified Republicans and reminding them to vote. Notice I did't say anything about voter persuasion? Another Priebus special.

My wife's little fluffy white dog would be an improvement over Priebus. Ronna will be a rock star by comparison.

New York's heart of glam and fashion faces possible closure when president-elect Donald Trump is in town. Fifth Avenue could be shut down to secure Trump Tower, which serves as Trump's home, a police source told the New York Daily News.

The NYPD and the US Secret Service will reportedly negotiate plans to ensure the safety of the billionaire, which means keeping troublemakers out. Whenever Trump is in town, the Secret Service wants to keep traffic off of Fifth Ave, the source told the newspaper.

And he'll be in town a lot. He's said to declared he'll spend relatively little time in the Executive Mansion and will do a lot of commuting back and forth to The Tower.

Posted by: EndOfPatience

Ronna is fine np. Priebus kept the whole thing together to fill in the gaps for Trump and massage some of the NT's butthurt . He deserves a lot of credit for that. I'm sure your dog would also be a good choice.

Exactly. The big money cronies want cheap labor, and trucking in endless streams of third worlders to flood the labor market has effects on labor supply and demand all the way up the chain, as people displaced from their old jobs start hunting harder for the few that they can still qualify for, or earn new qualifications.

It also artificially inflates housing prices, since all of those people have to live somewhere, which means more money for the financials.

So, this story may or may not be true, but the pictures and video clips of her sobbing followers could be seen as a rebuke to this.

I can totally see that - she's known to get violent when angry.

Which bring us back to the whole "presidential temperament" issue Hillary was pushing so hard. Hillary allegedly handled defeat by:
-- physically attacking campaign leaders
-- locking herself in her hotel room, sobbing uncontrollably
-- sending Podesta out to scram the riff raff supporters with an upbeat pledge that they were still fighting
-- privately conceding to Trump within an hour
-- invitation only speech the next day

Courage!!!

225 One of the best comments I saw recently came from CBD:

"I have watched Donald Trump for almost a year....making obvious mistake after obvious mistake. He f***ed everything up so badly that he got himself elected President of The United States.

I am going to reserve judgement. That way I won't be wrong for the 800th time."

I quote this because of all of the articles and commentators out there predicting what is going to happen: "Trump will cave on everything!" "He'll hold firm!" "Here comes the RINO surrender!" "Obama is going to mesmerize them into following his agenda!"

These aren't predictions, they are projections - they are the desires and fears of the writer or speaker thrown up on the screen. We learn a lot about the person making them, but know next to nothing about the supposed subject of the "prediction/projection" because there is little that can be known.

This will be fascinating next spring and early summer, but right now until mid-January, there really is nothing firm to grasp on to.

Other than predicting/projecting our own desires and fears.

My mother-in-law had died and her obit was in the 11/9 paper, so I had to go find a copy (they were all sold out) that afternoon to get her obit. The Orlando Sentinel is a commie rag, to be sure, and the front page they did for Trump that day is the most pitiful thing I'd ever seen. The entire front page is black, and featured a lousy picture of Trump, barely smiling off to the side. No fanfare, no pics of elated crowds, no family, no celebratory anything. And big, boring print reading "Trump's Triumph." The message from the (as the locals call it) Orlando Slantinel was obvious and pathetic.

255 Scott Adams has a blog post up on illusions. He describes how both campaigns defined their opponent, and then he outlines what he thinks Trump is going to do to demolish the definition the Hillary-Media Campaign created.

He doesn't mention that while Hillary is officially down her minions are still roaming around and the Media has not conceded the field. In that environment there is going to be reinforcement for their definition of Trump. Whether Trump is skillful enough to continue to work past them and demolish the definition is going to be fascinating to watch.

This is an interesting point, and I think Trump is doing it the right way (and I am trusting our security professionals here in spite of what they let Clinton/Abedin/Blumenthal get away with). He has a close family with smart children that will be part of his daily life, even in the White House, and being able to use than as trusted inside advisors makes sense (far more than letting Abedin and Jarratt any where near even an (FOUO) document).

And it demonstrates a lot of faith on his part that his kids have been pretty straight, because (with the government riddled with progressive saboteurs) a Trump child failing the background investigation would be sure to make lovely headlines for about six months!
And congrats JJ

Which means Trump has a lot of leverage; he can end those programs, remove a big incentive to support open borders.

415 This is an interesting point, and I think Trump is doing it the right way (and I am trusting our security professionals here in spite of what they let Clinton/Abedin/Blumenthal get away with).

IIRC, Congress was far-sighted enough to make sure laws against insider trading didn't apply to them.
But you are right, the Trump family might want to consider a set blind trusts to protect them from such accusations. Interesting that since President Trump has successful children in their own right (a first for almost every elected office in the land) they could conceivably benefit from insider trading instead of being happy collecting graft as is the norm for children of political figures.

Budgets don't mean a hell of a lot when the President and the Senate ignore them. Trump strikes me as the kind of guy who likes budgets, he talks all the time about brining in his projects on time and under budget.

The entire time that Ryan had real power he was dealing with Obama, a basically lawless President who spent what he wanted and did what he wanted. He was a hero around here not all that long ago and the guy who has been sounding the warning bells on entitlement problems for years.

I think he will be seen in a different light when he gets to actually do the job of Speaker under a Republican President. He's been talking about using reconciliation to go around the Dems if necessary to implement Republican spending and tax reforms for some time now.

I'm not comfortable with Giuliani as SecState, BUT.....he may be able to clear the deadwood better than Bolton. Bolton would be excellent for Deputy Secretary, or as M (management) which is, frankly, the most important position at State internally. M runs State. So Bolton would actually be able to support Giuliani by doing the clearing-and he would know where things need to be cleared.

It has been 35 years, but I remember that his theory had to do with "black box" functions that could not be seen or understood, only the results could be evaluated, and the focus was on matching the output and making guesses based only on results, not function.

"And yet it still moves" is not really a scientific principle, I suppose you could call it rampant empiricism.

I suppose that is a good approach for programming where you only see the results, but I wonder if understanding the process would influence architecture of the equipment to improve function.

552 391 What I find refreshing is that Clinton did indeed have an early night - it was obvious before ten pm that she was going to lose.

Then why did she wait until midnight to go medieval on Mook and Podesta.

IMHO.
...saw the guilani interview with george stephenapoulous
...it might be time for him to retire, he seems like he isn't as fast on his feet as he used to be.
and i'm a huge guilani fan.

554 One thing about Ryan or anyone, not doing any kind of shutdown or major resistance, is it probably made things easier for Trump. As absurd as it was for Obama to close parks and blame the shutdown, it seemed to work politically. Of course Obama still told people that KKK Trump would be cutting off various funding, but those pigs didn't fly this time.

So whether that was their jujitsu the whole time ? ... probably not, as Ryan/McConnell seemed to prefer Hillary. But if they block too much, Trump can use the bully pulpit effectively, and his miracle campaign should convince them not to doubt he can persuade.

Thats a head scratcher. How a Jewish Democrat can support a Islamic Supremisist and be pleased with himself. I'm guessing he isn't all that observant?
Posted by: Puddleglum at November 15, 2016 07:37 AM (nVVpd)

Once the Democratic party has 'won' a demographic voting block, they own that block for all time, at least in their minds. They don't actually have to DO anything to keep that block voting for them.
Liberal Jews? in the bag, African-American, ditto, Hispanics, all set. Clinton was working on all the crony-capitalists and the next block was all the Muslim 'refugees' they planned to flood into the country.
The Democrats don't have to please the liberal Jews, after all who else will they vote for, Republicans?

"I think that you'll be seeing quite a lot of me.
And thanks for letting us copy your economy.
And you taught us all the joys
Of separating men from boys
And lots of ways for us to practice sodomy!"

557 I suppose that is a good approach for programming where you only see the results, but I wonder if understanding the process would influence architecture of the equipment to improve function.
But that is so far in the weed I have to start talking out of my butt.

Speaking of shamelessly trolling the Donks, got an email from the NRA this morning that had me laughing.

The title? STRONGER TOGETHER

The picture? Two pieces of bread smeared with peanut butter and jelly, before mooshing 'em together

The text? "Sure. They're tremendous on their own. But certain things improve exponentially when they're paired with something else."

Then it goes on with the standard NRA fundraising stuff, but with paired NRA-branded trinkets.

559 Flying completely below the radar; sea change in ME:

Saudis give IDF permission to use Saudi airspace to attack Iran. For real. Saudis don't even bother to deny that any more.

Israel's military power is suddenly considered a great comfort by those ME nations which fear Iran, i.e., ALL of them.

Plus, 99% of Americans never heard about the recent YUGE natural gas discoveries in Israeli waters. Israel is a major oil & gas playa suddenly.

Ronna has done a pretty good job here in Michigan, especially behind the scenes. While not confirmed, Michigan has gone Red State, a lot of credit goes to her for the ground game.

Yes, I know it's a Ben Shapiro piece. But Ben probably does know him better than most, so you probably don't have to take this with a salt-pinch.

567 When you have Ellison as the leader for DNC chairman, it is clear that the anti-Trump protests are not being "taken over" by Fauxlestinians, but rather that those anti-Semitic protesters are the new base that the DNC is placing in power.

One might also note that Ellison was one of Sanders' picks for the DNC Platform Committee, so it would also be reasonable to note that the DNC is embracing Bernie Bros as another mainstay of their new base.

The only real question is where the current establishment expects to fit in the new troika.
