Larry O'Connor: Why Aren't Any High-Profile Democrats Demanding Their People Stop Rioting and Assaulting People?

Good question.

It should be noted that Leslie Stahl badgered Trump about telling his supporters to stop bullying people. He told them, "Stop it. Stop it now."

When will Leslie Stahl ask Democrats to do likewise?

The answer is, of course, she won't. The Democrats like to maintain the fiction that the more disreputable elements of the leftist coalition have nothing at all to do with the Democrats, despite having Democrats caught on videotape admitting they recruit violent (and even mentally unwell) "protesters," and despite the curious fact than ANSWER and affiliated "protesters" went almost completely silent during Obama's rule.

Funny, isn't it, that they only object to war and income inequality when Democrats are not in the White House?

I'm sure Trump doesn't particularly want to admit that there are any such disreputable elements in his own coalition. This at least partly explains why he hasn't been, as Democrats always demand, always denouncing them all the time.

And if he denounced them every time the media demanded-- which is always -- he'd never have time to talk about anything else.

Which is rather the whole point, just as the whole point of lobbing a frivolous charge of "racism" is to stop someone from making the point he wants to and start deferring to the points you want him to make.

No one particularly wants to admit they have power over such people, because admitting that would be to admit they have any kind of association, however attenuated, with such people in the first place.

Well, the Democrats won't denounce its own violent/intolerant/fascist legions either.

For the same reasons.

And they never denounce shit.

And the media will never ask them to -- because they want to maintain the Democrats' fiction that Obama and Hillary have "nothing to do" with such scum.

Because they are -- obviously, now -- part of the Democratic Party's communication division themselves.

The only people the media will ask Democrats to denounce are the Republicans' disreputable members.

As for the Democrats' own thugs and criminals -- Who? Where? What?

That is, when they're not mockingly laughing about assaults committed on Trump voters by thuggish Obama/Hillary voters.

8 The rioting is necessary because what else can they do?
They have lost power at multiple levels. Recognition of their impotence is too painful, so it is comforting to riot (either directly or vicariously). This gives them a sense of "power" and "meaning" in the same way a 14 year old boy delights in mindl as vandalism.

27 What you are missing is that law enforcement is finding more and more evidence this is organized and funded by a single group or groups. There has been the discovery of "instructions" at several protests. There is increasing evidence it's coming from a single source of funding.

This will no doubt end up in one of the Democrats handmaidens like Soros. Then we have a RICO case we can pursue and destroy these traitors.

28 I, personally, say let them riot.

If there's one thing I think we can take away from this election result it's that around half the country does not give a shit what the media says, and has absolutely no faith in them.

So let the left have their little circle jerk of fake concern and paid rioters.

We really need to just ignore all of these people -- dem party, their media, their rioters, etc. Just let them do whatever they want in their blue cities and on their blue news channels.

Obviously enough people "get it".

I'd say it is more explicitly that they are millenialists. They believe if we *all* think the right thoughts, Utopia will be here.

As long as anyone continues wrong thinking though, those thoughts alone will stop paradise.

That's why one common complaint from the left about Obamacare was that it was failing because people were saying bad things about it.

The problem here is that the logical progression of their thought process is that any means is justified. Seriously think about it, if heaven on earth was possible and only require making some minority of people stop doing something who wouldn't take...."action"?

90 This won't happen, but I'm sure wishing it would.

Organized cohorts of Trump-supporters at each demonstration, equipped with face shields, helmets, and body shields, line up and loudly chant one simple line, over and over and over. WE WON!

The protection is needed because the "protesters" are gonna get violent and start throwing stuff.

At the one and only Trump rally we attended, the authorities made sure the protesters were held back and were not allowed in our faces as we lined up to get in, or filed out to the lots after. These Trump counter-protesters should observe the same distance.

It is all a ruse to draw out the violence, which is sure to happen sooner or later. The Trump counterprotesters will need to be well trained.

The problem is they really do think we're evil - we're literally equivalent to the Nazis in their world-view. And if your enemy (because at that point you can't say merely "opponent") is literally the equivalent of a Nazi, aren't you morally justified - even obligated - to resist them with violence?

Also, with all of the #BLM riots Obama/Jarrett were on the phone with the local mayor/governor and police chiefs counseling them to give the rioters space. Remember Obama lecturing us at the height of the #BLM riots to be patient because change takes a little discomfort?

134 When there are isolated (as far as I know)reports of Trump supporters' acts of violence, Trump immediately denounces them, no hedge. Bernie Sanders chastises Trump because he "didn't go far enough".

At the same time there are extremely widespread "protests" that break laws and isolated (as far as I know) reports of Democrat supporters' acts of violence. One is a several minute video of an older white man being beat by misunderstood yutes who then steal his car to boot. The beating victim is mocked for white privilege by a commentator, and Sanders essentially absolves the thugs of blame.

And these people wonder why they lost the election. And they will never change an iota from their willful idiocy.

Yeah. Trump's speech at the Al Smith dinner the night after the 3rd debate was interesting. He started by addressing the very NY-ey crown in the room by reminding them that for many years/decades they have been friends, invited him into their homes, he's gotten to know their kids, and they've been happy to partake in Trump events and donations. Aaaand then he reminded them that as soon as he announced his candidacy they all publicly said he was crazy, the most dangerous man, etc. He was joking --- yet it sure looked like he was shaming them for their back-stabbing.

I hope that he's taken this lesson to heart, and that he stays true to true friends/allies who did not do this, while never trusting those who so blatantly turned on him.

Maybe their problem is this: they can't conceive of anything like libertarianism. They think that all governments must be in totalitarian in some way. Thus they were in no hurry to air it. That, or they are actually HOPING for some tied to Trump supporter violence, to offset the actual violence of the Leftoids.

I could alternately posit that it's because CBS is a buncha dickweeds but that is a given.

355 At Marble Collegiate church yesterday, the woman giving the bible study (a nun) said that the Electoral College was created by *gasp* "white males who were afraid of the common people".

This isn't totally untrue. The electoral college was put in place to be the last line of defense against an insane Presidential election by the states/people. Nothing wrong with that. The whole purpose of a Constitutional Republic rather than a plain Republic or Democracy is to restrict the People's power the same way that all branches of government are restricted in their power by the Constitution. But two of the only times when the Electoral College could have actually done the job it was built for (2008 and 2012 when an ineligible retard had won the electoral slates) they refused to.

I would include them in the "infiltrator" group.

I went to Catholic school up until high school graduation. They weren't perfect human beings but they were dedicated to insuring we were prepared for the world academically, while remembering we had a spiritual life that also needed to be nurtured.

I heard no man-hating from them, neither from the nuns who taught us in high school. I did volunteer work with the Missionaries of Charity in Chester, PA. (That's Mother Teresa's order). Those nuns just wanted to make sure that the inner city children had something to look forward to other than what was waiting for them in the streets. So we provided summertime activities for them, I was their art teacher.

I don't have such a dark view of women who choose to devote their lives to Christ's mission.

They might even have to institute a draft because not many would willingly sign up to serve. Under a Trump admin, all US forces would be pulled. Not sure where the Navy could go other than Pearl, but Air Force, Marine and Army assets could move to Nevada and Arizona, unless Nevada follows the lemmings over the cliff, although I don't think they would. Losing Long Beach, and the ports in Oakland, Portland and Seattle would be problematic.

422 I've watched more news programs in the last six days than I have in the last 10 years, and this is the first I've heard of any "Trump supporters" performing "racist" acts. If nothing else, I would hope that Trump learned a valuable lesson from this; don't sit down with the likes of Lesley Stahl and "60 Minutes" (a program I stopped watching back in the 1980s, as I was tired of their obviously bullshit, lying stories).

Indeed, based on past performance, I'd be willing to bet that these "racist" acts were in fact staged by FAB supporters, and other assorted Commies, and as usual the MFM is more than willing to lie about them to a gullible public.

Calfornia is the crown jewel of the Mexican Reconquista. With a population in the state that already exceeds 40% Hispanic they'll need an army to keep Mexico from annexing them.

If CALEXIT is a real thing I will be donating cash money to the cause.

So then we'll share a southern and a western border with Mexico. And
as a bonus we give them the largest port in what was once part of the
U.S.

Posted by: Scankles at November 14, 2016 05:51 PM (lKyWE)

Two things to consider with Long Beach. First, the port has become almost completely irrelevant except for a supply port for the West Coast itself, because of the newly opened Panama Canal Expansion. A big chunk of the LB traffic was containers being shipped from China to LB, cross-loaded to rail for transport to East Coast ports for shipment to Europe. No longer needed, as the larger New Panamax ships can go direct through the canal.

The other thing is, it'll be Californians that run the port. Between the general incompetence of Calif. and the active sabotage of the environmentalists, LB would be pretty much finished as a major port.

Posted by: IllTemperedCur at November 14, 2016 06:19 PM (LuZz8)

427 Scankles, that was my first thought. Without a military to repel invaders, Mexico could just walk in and take it over. And then what? Would the US have to go back in and retake Calexico?

Posted by: Deplorable Old Blue at November 14, 2016 06:20 PM (9iR5/)

428 Those CalExit folks haven't really thought this through. As their own country, they will need to have an Army, a Navy, and an Air Force. They might even have to institute a draft because not many would willingly sign up to serve.

They're hippy dippy flakes. If they wound up getting invaded and taken over, they'd probably console themselves, "at least we didn't live violently. At least we didn't use guns and waterboard people."

Posted by: Steve and Cold Bear at November 14, 2016 06:23 PM (dtWKK)

429 There's no possible way they go through with even the first step of secession with California. The loss of all those electors would kill every Democrat's chances of ever being president again.

Because I think it's possible to have a gay actor be a good enough actor and like his co-star enough so that it seems like they do have chemistry. It happens in the theatre enough.

450 There's a reason you watch some films and the male lead has zero chemistry with the female

Sometimes this happens because the direction is bad, the dialogue sucks, or the leads happen to hate each other off set.

Keanu and Carrie-Anne in The Matrix comes to mind. Or Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones (at least on Portman's end).

The cast weren't gay. It's their directors who were terrible, at least where it involves humans.

457 Okay, I have put up with a week of crying, wetting of pants and gnashing of teeth from the Special Snowflakes, Limousine Liberals and the BLM Racists!

Someone needs to point out to these friggin' Morons that the Voters have spoken, in a fair election (even overcoming the MSM, Dead Dem Voters, and a Virginia Governor pardoning 60,000 criminals) that trying to overthrow the election results may not be good idea.

They are calling for a revolution, but to have a successful revolution you need backing and power. And they may have some backing, but they definitely don't have the power.

They forget (or actually ignore) the fact that the Voters that elected Trump are same Voters that grow their food (kale, arugula, bean sprouts for Tofu...), pump their oil for fuel, generate their electricity, but more importantly, these same Voters own all the GUNS.

Funny that the only "protest" that we had down here in Texas, was in the very Liberal city of Austin, and the State Troopers put a quick stop to it, before the protesters got hurt.

We put up with 8 years of Obama, and we didn't "revolt", and we put up with 1 week of riots from these crybabies, but if they try to overthrow the election, there will be hell to pay.

Posted by: Mr Minority at November 14, 2016 07:30 PM (KoIVw)

458 Fen's Law: "The Left doesn't really believe in the things they lecture the rest of us about"

Applied here, it means that shaming the Left over their hypocrisy will have little effect, because they don't really believe that protest violence is wrong.

What the believe is that violence in the name of *their* cause is just, and violence in the name of an *other* cause is bad.

So, if you are looking to quell their violence by shaming them, you are wasting your time and energy. Find another avenue of attack instead.

My own experience is that, like most bullies, they only see their own tyranny when it's played back to them in spades. So the most effective counter (not that I'm advocating it) would be violence against their cultural icons. It would be brutal and beneath us, but sadly it's the only way to get the point across.
