Vanity Fair: Maybe the Right-Wing Media Isn't Crazy. Maybe the Media Is Biased as Sh*t.

Is our children learning?

Virtually every day during the past year, I’ve digested a daily dose of Breitbart, the alt-right Web site that many journalists, including myself, have described as "Trump Pravda." A typical day on Breitbart includes any number of articles extolling the rise of Donald Trump, including the massive size of his rallies and (on and off) his fast-rising poll numbers. There are also several pieces attacking the "mainstream media," usually CNN, The New York Times or The Washington Post. Recently, there have been a slew of pieces from the Clinton WikiLeaks cache, which are part of a larger set of articles showcasing the couple's venality, arrogance, and sexual peccadillos. The reporting, such as it is, is generally factually accurate, but mean-spirited and fantastically one-sided. If Breitbart were your primary news source, you would receive a view of the election that would be largely distorted and wholly unrecognizable to swaths of the American public.

When I checked the news the other day, it was more of the same. I counted some 20 articles about the presidential race, each espousing the unequivocal view that one candidate is collapsing due to moral failings, financial improprieties, and complete and utter lack of judgment and ethics. Notably, I was not reading Breitbart. Instead, I was reading The Washington Post, delivered to my doorstep, and the attacks were squarely waged not against the Clintons but rather against Trump.

In the Front Section, there was an incredible array of Trump-phobia, ranging from attacks on his business acuity to his ethics ("How Trump got a personal tax break by defaulting on loans"), to his personal knowledge ("Trump's map of black America needs an update"), to stupid opinions about Trump ("Nader predicts fastest impeachment in history for a President Trump"), to smart opinions about Trump ("A contemptible candidate--and the party to blame for it").

IIf you think this is limited to the National News portion of the paper, you would be mistaken. The Metro section, which typically reports on the Washington, D.C. area, was headlined by a news article describing the dysfunction at the Trump campaign in Virginia and a column arguing that Trump watching should be rated R for children. The top article in the Style section sported a massive feature on the Trump meltdown, supplemented by a column attacking Steve Bannon, the C.E.O. of the Trump campaign and the former head honcho at Breitbart. The sports section featured a column attacking Trump and defending, of all things, locker-room culture. Only the Health section lacked a Trump hook....

Rather remarkably, there was virtually no mention of Clinton or any other candidate running for president on this particular day. And so I repeated this little thought experiment again last week and the results were largely the same...
[Previous efforts at "balance"], whether or not it satisfies a Breitbart or Fox audience, has always set [the "mainstream" media] apart from partisan media like the Washington Times. But this election is different: for the first time in my memory, some of the major media organizations in this country have now abandoned all semblance of objectivity in furtherance of electing Hillary Clinton, or perhaps more accurately, in furtherance of the defeat of Donald Trump.

The Washington Post has been particularly foul -- starting about four years ago, they re-made themselves into, essentially, a Social Justice Warrior blog with a sports section.

More: Don Surber says the press went all in for Clinton -- and got a tie for their spastic efforts.

They've stripped themselves of all credibility, reputability, and, worst of all, influence.

No one will ever believe them again.

No one. Ever.

To be fair, Breitbart was exceedingly pro Trump in its writing style, to say nothing of its bent during the primaries. Certainly not as bad as Gateway or Treehouse which just beclowned themselves.

That said, the meat of what Breitbart reports vis a vis Democrats, leftism, Clintons, Socialism, Obama, etc. is 100% accurate.

The FBI? Does not have to use DOJ to prosecute a case.

They can go to ANY local prosecutor with jurisdiction and have the case accepted. Then subpoenas, search warrants, and arrest warrants can be issued for the state charges.

Any bank document that shows that her money passed through that jurisdiction would do it.

DOJ can huff and puff but can't touch it.

There HAS to be evidence to support the state case though.

But this election, they're not alone. This is the first election I've lived through where the press openly, specifically, and repeatedly has stated that they are trying to destroy a candidate and that its righteous to promote the other.

They meant that in the past, they did it, behind the scenes. But they kept up the pretense of objectivity and acted like they were just covering the election. This time they're just hanging their junk over the fence and spitting on people.

75 I'm pretty ambivalent about the election in most of the traditional ways. I'm not sure I see a huge difference in the way the country will be run by either one of the sociopaths with a shot at winning. And while the Supreme Court is obviously a big reason to want to keep Hillary away from 1600, the next four years seem destined to be such a disaster, that long-term there may be an advantage to not having a Republican in the White House for it.

All that said... maaaaan... it would be hilarious to watch Hillary give a concession speech, all the while realizing she's going to die without reaching the only goal she actually gives a crap about.

And the chance to watch the networks melt down if Trump is winning? Hooooooo boy. That's pudding time!

Thankfully we have the DoJ to obstruct justice, and make sure the Beloved Hillary never faces such embarrassing mean spirited attacks, by those that still believe in mean spirited rule of law, and that mean spirited constitution.

Mostly though, to use such a win as a pummel on the heads of the various traitorous media arrayed against him.

And against us.

We get to nominating candidates to lead out on dancing the Lamp Post Boogie, I'd have a whole sheaf of "media personalities" who ought to get the first dance.

That way, what "reporters" remain, might even tell a scrap or truth or three, as concerns the political class troupe to follow in the next do-si-do.

I don't know whether it has legs. I don't know whether it's even true.

I'm a strong Christian and have had more dealings than I usually care to admit with demonic oppression. I'm a scientist and am naturally a skeptic. People can do horrible things on their own without any open link to demons.

On the other hand, I stayed up till 2:30 reading last night. I reject some of the allegations but there are some, like the dinner with Marina Abramovic, that defy any other explanation.

Having helped successfully scuttle the nomination of one candidate, it may be terribly tempting for our leading organizations and media outlets to seek an encore performance.

171 Don't give this Vanity Fair piece too much credit: look at what this Ken Stern fuckhole wrote two thirds through:

Don't mistake me for some traditionalist harrumphing that the media is not the way it used to be in the good old days. We had partisan media long before we had objective media. And Trump is an affront to American democracy and common decency, and if this is the price to pay for keeping him out of the White House, so be it. But there is most certainly a price to pay. The next time Fox News or Breitbart caterwaul about media bias, the claim will have substantially more bite to it.

They shall lie in their beds.

172 Erik Prince quoted on Breitbart:

"the NYPD wanted to do a press conference announcing the warrants and the additional arrests they were making in this investigation, and they've gotten huge pushback, to the point of coercion, from the Justice Department, with the Justice Department threatening to charge someone that had been unrelated in the accidental heart attack death of Eric Garner almost two years ago."

The big stick the Obama administration has over local police departments is the threat of federalizing them. Even where the attempt to base it on a racist police encounter fails, as in Ferguson, they can still investigate the police department as a whole and find statistics showing disparate numbers of encounters with blacks or even police officers emailing each other jokes about Obama, and use that to impose their regime on the entire police department.

If they are trying to use this tactic even against the NYPD, it shows the lengths to which they will go to protect Hillary from the rule of law.

It may be a negotiation going on, in which the Justice Department is offering NOT to pursue federalization of the NYPD if they all just shut up about the crimes discovered on Weiner's laptop.

The ratio was 2-1 Clinton over Trump so the net fraud is more like 20,000 and fortunately no elections turn on that sort of margin. With the exception of states like Florida for example.

179 I wonder if the media's wall to wall negative coverage of Trump might be counter productive. Yes they say terrible things about him, but they also present him as the primary political force in America.

Arguably the best argument against Trump is that while he has made statements about positive change he's too isolated from the rest of the political establishment to deliver them. Of course that doesn't help Hillary either, though it might help Gary "Where's my Lepo" Johnson.

But the media can't make that argument...

Also, it is funny to see that of late the left has been borrowing an argument from 2008, namely change isn't always for the better...

In Bill Clinton's earlier book "My Life the Early Years", B H indulge in some voodoo rituals in Haiti. They then discuss the "religion" as just another way people view the presence of a non-physical life presence in the world.

Hard to say how that might relate to other acts, like sex with kids, which does seem to be more prevalent with the powerful of the world, something that makes the average American Christian folks cringe. Afghan army men had their boys in their tents, other Muslims have their child brides. (and yes Virginia, pedophile island is real)

It is routine in the Middle East, and some of the Obama writings about his commie mentor suggest an uncomfortable relationship. And Hollywood producers seem to have an affinity for the very young. The sexualization of our youth has been a prevalent feature of the left's attempt to force "cultural Marxism" into our social norms.

So I'm thinking yes, even if they are just "playing with the Ouija board", the occult fascination reveals even more hypocrisy from Hillary who displayed contempt for the "outdated Catholic religion" upon which she plans to force fundamental doctrinal change.

Nah, it was Himmler with the skin lampshades and the bone chairs. Hoess was mentioned in the documentary but not in that context. What stands out about Hoess was the droll, matter-of-fact way he discussed murdering millions of people.

Hoess was particuarly (and ironically) hard on punishing guards who physically abused camp inmates, whether the inmates were Jewish or not. At his trial, he said his job was to liquidate these people, not torment them.

Legally, the FBI is a department within[/] the Department of Justice. Everyone within the Department of Justice ultimately reports to the Attorney General. If the Attorney General orders the FBI agents not to provide evidence they have gathered in an investigation to local law enforcement, that would be binding on them.

Of course, the Attorney General and her top deputies may themselves be exposed to obstruction of justice charges, and from the reporting we are getting there seem to be clear indications of that.

307 So we had - in the space of minutes, mind you - Bill accusing people of being tinfoily and talking about the focus-grouped meaningless shibboleth "minority outreach" whatever that actually fucking means in practice, and then glowering darkly about Fox being out.

One is led to raise the question what connects his approach to these two matters. "Well, it's all Trump's fault, we're doomed - I guess we'll have to try again next time, gosh darn it", and "all hope is lost, somebody has probably nuked Fox. Resistance is futile". These two things are not even from the same script - one reads "as a moderate, I think you people need to get out of your bubble. It's not so bad!" on the top under "Character motivation", and the other reads "Conservatism is lost - why even try?"

If you missed what connects those two things, it's the word "script". Only other possibilities for *sole explanation* are schizophrenia or the most profound stupidity.

THE WAR ON JOURNOLISM

With the rise of the alt-right, a new tactic has arisen from the dark, seedy underbelly of politics....the war on journolism.

"Sadly, many respected, hard working and dedicated journolist are under attack today" said Professor Juanita Orangjello, Professor of Feminist Journolism and Cultural Appropriation in the Media of Cornell University. "Particularly in the white male dominated areas of the internet, rising xenophobic voices are working non-stop to undermine creative reporting and try to bully honest brokers of the news into not covering issues involving race, sex, sexual orientation, choice, income inequality and creative basket weaving."

So they're stuck, preaching to a dwindling market with decreasing ad revenue.

It's the antithesis of Judeo-Christian values which this country and Western Civilization were built and thrive. The same country and civilization that would allow you to fact check this in 10 minutes and know it's evil.

It involves defiling children just like all the other people the Clintons surround themselves with.

To compare this to Bigfoot and aliens only proves the point that people mock what they don't understand.

The Groupthink on this site has become out of control. You cannot even post information without opinion that is relevant to the election and the direction of this country.

Oh and personal attacks on my family and my children doesn't warrent a ban when if it was done face to face affecting my children, the person would be sued and have charges brought against them. If it was said to my face it would be Thundersome and I'd bet on the guy whose children and family was threatened.

So I'm leaving this site and will have nothing positive to say about it when commentors can threaten me and my family because information makes them feel uncomfortable in their safe spaces.

Fuck that. I've never seen anybody threaten children under five by badmouthing their father because of posting not opinions but actual facts.

This shit will continue, it will continue to get worse, and 52%+ of the public will lap it up like mother's milk because they have absolutely zero desire for anything resembling truth. They want to be lied to. They want to be coddled and taken care of. They want "someone to do something" to make things "fair". They want someone to blame for there complete worthlessness, laziness, and inability to create anything of value. They want those who can create value to be punished and brought down to their level because the loathe success. Their heros are base, vulgar cretins (Kardshians, Clintons... Trumps). They like being lied to and demand to be entertained.

News is boring! Give me more giant flashy logos! More sex scandals! More celebrities! More gossip! Even that can't hold their vapid attention for the length of a 6 minute segment. Give them live scrolling twitter feeds and headlines! When that's not enough, turn it into a comedy show so these ignorant fools can tweet the same political joke over and over again so their friends can see how smart, informed, and funny they are!

379 MSM is *not* destroyed ("delenda est").

Not even close. Where does such fantasy come from?

Look at the presidential campaign. Behold a pathetic, artless, histrionic *criminal* poised to become president. Behold the existence, and approval rating of the current president.

However measured - in terms of absolute influence and consequences for how degraded the country and culture are today, or "opportunity cost" and what the country might look like with an actual press - the media remains a massive anchor around our necks.

The very framework in which misinformed, and uninformed Americans even perceive what little relevant information they get is distorted beyond recognition. It's ubiquitous (incl. here at the HQ).

Sort of academic, but these constant baseless references to the destruction of the media and its influence are debunked by the reality surrounding us. If there anything approaching an actual press, would you spend much time at places like the HQ?

Doctors? Yes...
Lawyers? No...
Police? Some...
Pastors? May not believe as them, but we never accuse them of telling lies...

Teachers??? We are trained for years in school that what they say is right... to the point of being punished with a bad grade if we don't parrot their teachings...

Politicians? its based on party...

Journalists???? Once again... trained to trust that the are telling us the truth... or at least... facts...

So... just like schools... we will continue to believe Journalists as long as that indoctrination holds...

It isn't difficult to imaginethe Clintons involved in Roman orgy-styledepravity (sorry for the mental image), especially when it comes to Bill Clinton, whose sexual behavior has been unhinged for decades.

But here's the thing: when the Pedo Island trips that Bill Clinton was taking with Epstein first broke, people close to Hillary Clinton gave a number of accounts of how hurt and angry she was--not necessarily because Bill had been fooling around but that he had been implicated in a possible sex ring with a convicted pedophile early in her presidential campaign. She is said to have said, 'This is the worse thing Bill has ever done to me.'

I also think Hillaryprefers women but is very discreet about it. The reason she never left Bill is because they complete each other in a strange way--Bill as the charming, likeable id, Hillary as ruthless operator. Together, theymake aformidibleteam.

So even if they are doing that stuff, it's not because they think it will summon demons or cast a spell or anything. It's because it builds bonds in their camp or gives blackmail material against their opponents.

As to whether other Powers and Principalities are involved...no doubt they are. The materialists are fools if they think they're the top of the pyramid. But it's not their intended aim...even when it is the result.

His campaign at this point reminds me of the things I've read about Truman's campaign when he famously upset Dewey. He was out there, every day, campaigning his ass off, going to the people directly. And as Truman's campaign went on, the crowds got larger and larger. As are Trump's.

Does that mean Trump will win? I don't know. It's a nice comparison and it gives me hope. I still have some faith that there are still enough people left in America who will find it detestable to vote for someone as sleazy and corrupt as Hillary Clinton.

they talked about this on Fox.

Seems to be happening to a lot of people.

In my little hell-hole, not direct-tv, the only channel that was out, and the message on the screen said I had to pay for the channel and to call, blah blah blah, was Fox News, a channel we pay for already.

I had to call and make them fix it.

Yeah, but that can be said of just about any Manhattan "performance artist." Since Dada, much of "high art" has focused on repulsing and shocking ordinary people. This Satanist broad is no different.

What's different is that it used to be that pols and those associated with them would forego openly attending such events. But today? When raps with brazenly sexual acts and vulgar lyrics get a warm welcome at the WH and Lena Dunham is seen as a valuable ally - hell, the elites are giving us the finger any way they can - this is no different.

Make a big deal of "Satanism" and the Today Show and SNL will be laughing at the rube Trump voters who take such things seriously.

447 I agree. People talk about Fox News and Breitbart and alternative bloggers on social media, but if you add the numbers up the "mainstream" media in television, print and social media (Yahoo news, Facebook news feed, etc.) has a dominant position.

Fox news always crows about being no. 1 but if you add CNN and MSNBC and the networks together they collectively blow Fox News away.

And I agree with Pepe that this occultic shit is straight up evil.

It's going to be bad for a while, because people are living longer and the Boomers are such a large generation. It's going to take massive tax increases to pay for the Boomers to retire and if our recent history shows anything, it's that regardless of political affiliation people are comfortable with voting themselves more of other people's money. But there will come a time where that changes as millennials finally number enough to overcome the boomers and can reduce their burden.

490 "MSM is *not* destroyed ("delenda est")."
----------------------
"Delenda est" --- gerund (fem. singular) + esse = gerundive= "must/should be ---ed."

"Is/has been destroyed" would be "deleta est," ---past participle (fem singular) + esse.

Incidentally, the phrase used often here, "media delenda est," is incorrect. "Media" is the neuter plural of "medium," not a fem sing, and as a plural takes the plural verb "sunt."

But since we are not speaking Latin, and since we are just substituting "media" for the "Cartago" (fem sing) of the original, famous phrase, no one but a crazed, pedantic Latinist would care about using "est" instead of "sunt."

Posted by: Crazed Pedantic Latinist at November 04, 2016 02:02 PM (Nox3c)

491 Fun little anecdote about press bias:

I work at a newspaper. We get letters from both conservative and liberal readers complaining about our "slanted coverage." But the complaints from the liberals make for hilarious reading if you're a conservative.

See, conservatives don't have any illusions about the press. They know most journalists are hostile towards them. But the liberals are something else: unlike conservatives, they are accustomed to the media catering to their worldview and reinforcing their prejudices.

Yeah, yeah, I know: Tell me something I don't know, right? But what emerges from the complaints we get from liberals is that they are almost completely oblivious to this. They have no idea how much the press ALREADY caters to them, so they seize upon the tiniest deviations as proof of a Vast Right Wing Conspiracy in the media.

I wish I could share some of the letters we've gotten, because it's really side-splittingly funny. Essentially, our liberal readers carry around this unconscious assumption that the press is essentially a campaign arm of the Democratic Party. Yeah, I know all us right-wingers think that, but the difference is that we don't have illusions about it. The liberals think the press is supposed to be "neutral," and they define "neutral" as "uncritically conveying Democrat propaganda like a campaign newsletter."

These lefties are so HURT and ANGRY when they're forced to read anything in the newspaper that isn't like a warm tongue-bath for all their prejudices. To give an example: We got a letter the other day from a liberal complaining that we had a big picture of Trump on the front page. That was all. This guy asked if that meant we'd been bought out by the Koch Brothers to push the Republican-Corporate Agenda. Apparently he was appalled that a newspaper would deign to waste valuable space reporting on a major presidential candidate who wasn't a Democrat.

That's an extreme example, but it gives you a sense of the flavor of this stuff. Again, it's just hilarious: The unspoken, unconscious message always amounts to: "You're supposed to be on OUR side! Why are you even giving conservatives the time of day? Why aren't you fighting EVEN HARDER to push our agenda?" And yet they're totally, 100 percent oblivious. They think they're asking for "fairness" and "objectivity."

Some evangelicals who just could not hold their nose for Trump might be thinking twice if they think a secret Satanist might slither into the White House otherwise.

506 "No one will ever believe them again. No one. Ever."

At least half of the country doesn't mind if the FACTS are wrong, so long as the NARRATIVE is right. Leftists (and some rightists) don't care if their stories are true, just like they don't care if Santa Claus really exists. It's pleasant to go with the story, and often lucrative as well. Who cares if Santa is real, so long as everybody keeps buying all the presents?

507 500 I gave you advice that you clearly are unable to take. Whatevs. Hope you find peace, but it won't be in conspiracy theories. 'Bye.

First, you threaten me and my children and you are such an expert on conspiracy theories then why attack my children and their father, who you do not know.

There is nothing conspiracy theory about people adopting the Thelema Religion founded by Aliester Crowley. It is a religion and spiritual by The woman's own mouth. Blood Sex magik involves sexualizing and worse to little children.
This has been going on for 1000's of years. And you can only tell conspiracy theory like a leftist yelling rape. And threatening my kids like a government agent.

It's in the Emails. All verified. The videos are up. These are all facts and all you can do is tell conspiracy theorist. Obviously by threatening my children and my fitnesss, a Soviet Union tactic to silent dissent, you are also silencing the fact that thousands of of children are destroyed by this tyke of ritualistic evil blood sex magik each year.

You don't debate the facts but launch personal attacks to me involving my children and at y children.

So because I'm taking about The most talked about topic today, I'm being punished by being called conspiracy theirist when it's not even a conspiracy. You are a troll and an authoritarian. And a coward. Bet you practice the same shit which is why you are so defensive.

You threaten and insult me And my children

You have yet to disprove.on fact about the subject at hand except tell conspiracy theory.

You obviously don't have children, must be the low sperm count and inability to find a real like woman that will ever have sex with you.

Again you don't argue facts because you can't. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer are you?

But you are OCD creepy stalking with Winona Ryder.

Argue facts instead of yelling racist.... I mean conspiracy theory especially when it is not even a conspiracy thus displaying you have no idea what a conspiracy even is.

510 Actually BSG you are a troll. A NeoCon Bill Krystal Troll. You do nothing but attempt to discredit and demoralize everything that comes out and revealed about the Uniparty, Globalist, Media, Wall Street, and NeoCon Foreign Policy.

BY SHOUTING CONSPIRACY THEORY AND CONSPIRACY THEORIST AND USE ALINSKY TACTICS AND NOW INSULTS AND THREATS TO MY FAMILY AND CHILDREN UNDER 5.

Why you are allowed to remain beats the shit out of me but it's fishy.

Come to Ace of Spades and comment and have your family and children threatened and insulted.

Says the man who brings my kids into the argument to stomp speech and dissent.

Can't even discuss facts and you have no idea what a Conspiracy even is.

If so then prove it. If not then you are a troll as I described above who had to resort to personal attacks and threats involving my children and my family.

513 I'll bet you get some doozies. I hope you have a fellow conservative at work with whom you can share the laughter. Lucky you, to have a job that occasionally provides some comic relief!

---

The few of us deplorables here behind enemy lines do share a laugh about this every now and then. It's just so fascinating to me because even when I WAS a liberal, it always seemed obvious to me that the press had a liberal bias, but for a lot of lefties it's not obvious at all.

As far as I can tell, a lot of liberals define "objectivity" in terms of tone, not content. That is, they believe the job of a responsible news media is to repeat the things they read on lefty blogs, only in a calm, cool, professional manner. That, to them, is "being objective." Anything that calls liberal ideas into question, or suggests that conservatives might have a point about something, or even suggests that conservatives might have a reasonable point of view, is "biased," because the job of the "neutral" press is to calmly, patiently sit conservatives down and explain that they are wrong about everything and liberals are always right. "Left wing bias," in the view of these liberals, means screaming at conservatives and mocking them, as opposed to merely telling them they're wrong in soothing, NPR-friendly tones.

When liberals wring their hands over "right wing bias" in the media, they're essentially complaining that the media is failing to perform its natural and proper role of providing soothing comfort to liberals while politely talking down to conservatives and calmly explaining to them how everything they believe amounts to loony superstitions and corporate propaganda. Not to do this, in their minds, is essentially the same as giving drugs to an addict.

Our liberal readers also implicitly assume that everybody everywhere in the media shares their beliefs, so they tend to adopt a chummy, casual tone which is also pretty hilarious in its obliviousness, as if they just can't imagine any educated person ever disagreeing with them. The wounded sadness and perplexed anger and general concern-trolling from these guys is just fabulously funny to read.

514 Regarding Satanic sh!t and pedo island:

When people believe that rules don't apply to them, they don't know where to stop in search of thrills, because normal stuff is boring. It's called depravity.

516 So the leftwing cretin (BIIRM) admits that Breitbart's reporting is "generally factually accurate"?

A-mazing.

But, it's so MEAN! he whines.

I want to secede from this clusterfuck. I will vote with my middle finger, here in the belly of the Beast in Moscow on the Hudson on Tuesday. I'll cross all the rest of them that Trump gets elected.

If any of you want to, you know, hear what Trump actually Says, do go to Youtube and pick any of his recent rallies. That's the only way you'll find out that he's promised to:

--Pick constitutionalist Supreme Court justices
--Work to bring our budget back to planet Earth (he admits it will be a long job)
--Defend our borders
--Suspend the Jihadi Importation Program
--Renegotiate NAFTA, nix the TPP
--Build up our military
--And above all, he'll put America, and her citizens, FIRST.

If any of that appeals to you, march into that voting booth and pull the lever with an emphasis. Because that's what he's saying he'll do. The man likes to win, and he wants our nation to win: this will be the first president with this mindset in over THIRTY years.

Cheerio, my dearios!
