The Morning Report 10/21/16 [J.J. Sefton]

Wk.jpg

Good morning, kids. Noted at press time: the lead for the day is not an O'Keefe or Wikileak but right out in the open. Of course, it's from a foreign paper so I fully expect a total US media embargo and/or smears about the individual in question. Also, the IBD-TPP Poll which does have a track record of picking the winner at least as far back as Bush 41 shows a dead heat. Yet if the official propaganda line is Trump is going to get wiped out in a landslide, why is the media going into overdrive with the attacks and smears? That's a rhetorical question. Anyway, have a better one.

Would like to be around Westminster Md late afternoon to stop and eat.

And to top it off, we want Little VIA to drive, so that he can gain more Learners Permit experience.

28 One thing about Trump is that he engages and actively seeks out the press and takes the time to answer their questions, no matter how stupid or inflammatory, and no matter where he is.

And he continues to do this no matter how badly they try and beat him up, but the msm is "frightened" that he will become a dictator and lock the press out of his Administration.

Contrast that with hillary who hides from the press and public and only engages with them during highly scripted and tightly controlled staged events.

It's called projecting and the left does it automatically like a reflex.

Another note on the polls...

Just a few months ago, these genius pollsters predicted that Hillary was going to win the primary in Michigan by 21 points. This was an average with Monmouth, Mitchell, YouGov and others.

Bernie won by 1.5 points, so they only missed it by 22.5%.

Looking back, the experts found that they had the turnout model a bit wrong. They predicted certain age and minority groups were going to show up and it didn't happen that way.

But today, only a few months later, these same polling companies believe they've got it all figured out and that Hillary is 12 points ahead of Trump.

Nobody is explaining why Macomb County, the bellweather county for the state and home of Reagan Democrats that Obama won by 6 points has Trump ahead by 20 points.

However, if the minority population of Wayne and Oakland Counties turn out in the same numbers they did for Obama, Hillary may win.

Fat chance.

Unfortunately, none that I can find.

But last year there was something which was available, and it showed a very tight shot to kill ration. And I remember thinking that the Baltimore shooters seem to have some serious range time.
And it was suggested that unlike Chicago, where much of the violence was spur of the moment, opportunistic or emotional, Baltimore shootings seemed to have a business like efficiency to them.

Chicago has a very real gun control problem.

There was a Federal Agent who killed himself a few months ago, who allegedly wrote in his suicide note that he decided to kill himself because he knew orders were coming down the pike that would order him to kill his fellow Americans. He went on to give a pretty detailed theory that the Administration was going to shut down the internet and broadcast media, except for the Emergency Broadcast System, and claim that we had been targeted by a cyber attack, and use that as an excuse to declare martial law.

The letter was supposedly shown to a local radio station, which ran the story, but the NYPD later came out and said that there was no note. Believe as you will, I'm just mentioning it because it's not the most implausible thing I've ever heard, and forewarned is forearmed.

Naturally, carrying out a first strike cyber attack on Russia would result in them doing the same to us...

This is why people are feeling sick to their stomachs and stressed out about the election. Because it's not over Nov 8. That's just the beginning.

Yup.

As Scott Adams commented after the MSM frenzy over Trump not conceding he'll accept the election results:

If you want a reason to be worried, ask yourself why the mainstream
media is so keen on framing the election as "not rigged." The message
I'm getting from them, collectively, is that they think it will be. (Because it will be.) We just don't know how much the rigging will
matter.

214 Also, the IBD-TPP Poll which does have a track record of picking the winner at least as far back as Bush 41 shows a dead heat. Yet if the official propaganda line is Trump is going to get wiped out in a landslide, why is the media going into overdrive with the attacks and smears?

The media has already gone all "thermonuclear war" on Trump's head, and yet IBD-TIPP, LA Times, and Rasmussen have the race at a tie or with Trump up by one.

I don't know what else the MSM can do.

It also strikes me that the Election Forecast's "Chance of Winning" graph at fivethirtyeight.com..

http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-election-forecast/

...has run in cycles of about 7 or 8 weeks. The beginning of each cycle starts with the race very close. Then Hillary's predicted chance of winning maxes out at 89%, then the prediction starts to narrow again.

Well, we are at the maxed-out point now, the predicted chance of winning should start to narrow again. By election day, we could see her predicted chance of winning down in the 50s again, which could cause some consternation throughout the elite-o-sphere.

Personally, I like cable TV, and have Amazon and Netflix along with the basic cable package. I love good movies (and even some bad ones), as well as a number of TV shows. It's a news junkie's dream, and I'm most definitely a news junkie.

But I also like living a real life and so try to moderate my viewing habits. If it's true our lives flash before our eyes at the moment of death, I don't want to be stuck re-watching 'I Love Lucy' reruns yet again.

There's no innate virtue in not watching television. Of itself, watching television is neither a good nor a bad thing. Besides, that pernicious Left-wing agitprop flooding the airwaves only has an effect on the weak-minded and impressionable.

That should be a huge flashing warning light to anyone who cares about polling accuracy as there is no way hillary is going to generate the turnout that obama got, and they just might need to adjust their polling samples to reflect that.

I see Ace and others promising to part ways with the Republican Party, but I don't know that they will.

The GOP Leadership will smugly assume that they "won" by defeating Trump and his "rabble." They will continue to capitulate to the Democrat Left and the Donor Class and do absolutely nothing to address the factors that led to Trump's nomination in the first place.

Rubio will become the frontrunner for the 2020 nomination for the hollow shell that will be all that remains of the GOP.

--
(1) Continued SJW advance through our public institutions, spearheaded by "civil rights" offices in federal agencies;
(2) Continued low-level GDP growth (I would expect the economy to fall into another recession no matter who is elected, but I think that the Fed will do more to try to keep the zombie growth up under a Dem president than a Repub);
(3) Nothing done to resolve fiscal problems, including big problems with SS and medicare;
(4) A push to establish a public option, single-payer system as Obamacare collapses. Obamacare's collapse will be blamed on obstinate republicans who refuse to adopt "common sense" measures to "fix" the broken system;
(5) If the GOP establishment manages to re-take control of the party, look for them to try to squelch the Trump rebellion by not conceding anything. Look for them to compromise with Hillary on amnesty, for example, and continue to pass the socialist agenda by dribs and drabs. Also look forward to an attempt at re-branding that paints conservatives as "that's not who we are."
(6) An administration that is far more focused on the destruction of domestic enemies, rather than being involved in the international scene. To the extent international affairs are involved, expect Hillary to make blunders like she made in Libya.

But here's the thing: a good percentage of my income comes from commercial art (and sometimes thankfully fine art). I'm a staunch conservative on most issues, maybe even something of an ideologue, but it doesn't inform my work, at least not on a conscious level and certainly not to the point where I'm attempting to make some sort of propaganda piece. I'm guessing most creative types feel the way I do.

Besides, the Left owns most of the media, which means they have inordinate influence over the culture. We gave it to them. We need to fight for it and take it back.

The far left (and to be honest, Hillary is not far left, just a opportunistice poser)..... was FURIOUS with Bill Clintons cooperation with Newt and the R's. The end of welfare as we know it, the balancing of the budgets, focus on law enforcement in urban crime centers, etc.

Hillary was part and parcel of those efforts. Bill Clintons cooperation was the genesis of Soro's and all the accompanying Cloward-Piven organizations involvement in American politics. The far left never again wanted the Democrat Party scooting to the middle on issues.

339 I think that the GOP is due for a shakeup regardless of who wins the election. If Trump wins, new people will come in, because everyone loves a winner. I believe that Ryan and the NeverTrumpers (who I saw open for Blondie at CBGBs in 1979) end up excommunicated or excommunicate themselves. Maybe they will become the Egg McMuffin Party. Who knows. But I don't think that a Republican majority in Congress that suddenly finds the balls to oppose the Presidency when it is a Republican in that office can last very long. A split Republican Party in the House will end up quickly becoming a Democrat free-for-all.

Neither can I believe that the Republicans can 1) credibly drum up the troops to oppose Hillary when they cheered her election, or 2) gain any points by going along with her.

The Republican Party as we know it is toast either way.

Democrats, if Hillary loses, will lose their collective shit. They will first lash out at all of America for electing Trump. Then they will focus their energies inward, as the Obama people and Clinton people eat themselves for dinner, leaving a rump of Socialists for Bernie who won't have any kind of standard bearer.

A - A new, American Nationalist party will likely be founded, pulling much of the GOP's grassroots support away.

B - Of course Hillz will try to get outlawed political parties based on (nebulously defined) "hateful speech and ideas".

C - Meanwhile Trump will try to start his own media operations. (This may already be starting.)

D - A race to see which happens first, our cold civil war turning red hot, or Hillz keeling over. (Both will happen.)

E - Someone will crack open some bottled sunshine in a major US city. It may even be local origin.

Along this line, the wife went into the eye doctor last week to ask about lasik or some other procedure so that she wouldn't have to wear contacts.

She's far sighted, so it's not that easy.

Normally, the procedure is to reshape (with a laser) some portion of the eye while inserting a permanent lens. This costs $12,500 per eye and isn't covered under insurance.

However, the doctor asked her if she's bothered by the glare of headlights while she drives at night (while nodding his head up and down). She answered "Yes?" and then miraculously, the procedure was covered under cataract surgery. There is a slight charge that we have to pay out of pocket, but after everything, less than $2000 total.

More people are now aware of the foreign money, the pay for play, the favors, the coordinated attacks on anything that goes against the communist (socialist, democrat) party. At the very least, more people are awake, (red-pilled, in reference to the Matrix), now than ever before. The folks who said all of this were laughed as tin-foil hat 'spiracy theorists. What we do with that information, I don't know. Maybe it will cause a change in the tides. Maybe people will just tune out even more in a sense of hopelessness. I think the latter may be what they wanted from the start. Just give up. There are too many of us and we're everywhere.

The currency move will be touted as convenience and acceptance of modern tech, and the gold-bugs will be demonized as terror financiers. Opening salvos fired.

Look for more border controls, too -- not on humans, silly, but on capital flight.

I listened to some of the debate, and so many of Trump's strong points have been lost in the aftermath of DNC created media propaganda.

For instance, he had a couple themes he kept returning to: NAFTA for one. He talked about how his rallys in PA and OH and FL are populated with folks who have been hurt by this deal that was promoted by the Clinton regime. On foreign policy he repeated that Putin was so much smarter than she, that he's running rings around this administration.

During his closing remarks he made a direct appeal to citizens who are people of color. I tried to listen with the ears of someone who was undecided or fence sitting, and I think he succeeded in reaching the average voter.

389 What scares me the most is that this election has basically given these idiots all the confidence they need to do ANYTHING in the proggy playbook their little hearts desire. They finally showed their true colors, admitted collusion and corruption and people STILL look to vote her into office.

In other words, they now know there are at least enough people in this country to either agree with them or not care enough to stop them. With what I've seen of Obama (never thought this country would even sniff socialist healthcare), I am doubly worried by what's STILL in the prog playbook.

Open borders and gun control will be in the queue first. A study was done on how many people want to migrate to the US.

165 million people responded absolutely.

165 million new neighbors. All on the government tit, supported by your new 75% tax bracket.

Why, confirm Garland in the lame duck session, of course. Before Hillary can appoint someone totes worse.

Youtube report of a poll purportedly conducted by Anonymous, showing Trump with a huge lead. They claim to have polled 50,000 people (1,000 in each state) and with an even breakdown of R/D/I. Their claim is that Trump is at 67%, Hillary 19%.

Fun to watch, even if you don't take it seriously.

393 we already know the level of corruption Hillary is involved in
we know she likes to arm bad guys while disarming us.
we know even personal friends are expendable for political cover (stevens)

we know media will allow her anything and any cover she needs to push Her agenda.
we know she will use the military' our security agencies for the good of her and her cronies bank accts.

we know she will use govt agencies to intimidate any opposers.

so vote Hillary because Trump is a fkn vulgar ass.

395 Nicole Eramo's libel suit against Rolling Stone reached a crescendo yesterday, with motion strategies starting to fall by the wayside as testimony got personal. Erdely is getting slammed, as she should. Rolling Stone is falling back on the fake Justice Department investigation saying UVa should have "done more" to combat the hostile environment females face generally. Lame-o defense.

Unfortunately, she faces a high standard of proof, since she has been determined to be a public figure (thanks to Rolling Fucking Stone), so there's no telling where this will go.

2018: Republicans campaign for the House and Senate promising firm, wavering opposition to Hillary's SCOTUS appointments, open borders immigration policy, and single payer health plan.

2019: Republican Congressional majorities approve Hillary's SCOTUS Appointments and fully fund her immigration and health care agenda.

398 There's no innate virtue in not watching television. Of itself, watching television is neither a good nor a bad thing. Besides, that pernicious Left-wing agitprop flooding the airwaves only has an effect on the weak-minded and impressionable.

Posted by: troyriser at October 21, 2016 09:05 AM (cCEFD)

I don't think anyone's claiming to be more virtuous by dropping their TV service.

For me, it simply comes down to not wanting to subsidize the agitprop factory.

I live in Sykesville/Eldersburg, 15 min from there. A great burger and beer place in Eldersburg is Oscar's Alehouse (fries are killer), and just as good in "downtown" Sykesville is E.W. Beck's - also good pub grub. Really like Downtown Sykesville - bit of charm.
