When I was stationed in Egypt many many years ago, we were getting ready to rotate out of the base, and all the guys in the unit were tossing their porn magazines that they'd purchased in Israel, and smuggled across the border. This was quite interesting to the Egyptian civilian workers on the base (who we all knew were actually Egyptian secret police, and therefore privileged guys who could get anything they wanted). Once one of them found a porn mag in the trash, it was a fucking feeding frenzy, with swarms of swarthy perverts fighting, literally fighting over fuck books on the base. Damnedest thing I've ever seen with my own eyes.

I see a quote from an old slang dictionary from 1889, the Urban Dictionary of it's day which defines "dildo" quite specifically:

I just made a quick read of the questions.
My quick take?
There are questions within questions, and those will be parsed by Hitlery's team, into about 80-ish individual questions, and challenged as to which are the actual 25 questions.
By time those motions are heard, adjudicated, responded to and ruled upon, we'll be well past the election.

I'm not a lawyer, and I defer to the brilliant minds at Judicial Watch.

They'll take the sanctions to buy the time.

When you send blue collar jobs to Mexico and China you end up with more people on welfare. So WJC screwed them two or three ways, all within a few years. There are some AA who were around then who remember, and aren't shy about criticizing the Clinton legacy. And some young AA Berners (remember the young lady in SC with the banner?)
So you take away the job that supported a family by sending the factory to China (textile mills throughout the South), and increase illegal immigration so farmers don't have to pay the locals any more. They end up broke and hopeless. Then you cut benefits. Then you pass a tough on crime bill, and call their kids superpredators.
The Clinton legacy has been devastating to the AA man and family.

A few times I believe a place like that. I hit up places after concerts at Red Rocks and Evergreen was the main place I'd wind up. Like I said that area of Boulder to Ned south to Red Rocks and east to Denver was bananas during my stint there at the turn of the century. And I did not include the ski towns either because that's a given.
And Fort Collins was a place that was so friendly you could drive there and girls would take you in like a lost puppy.

Yeah Colorado is naturally a strong libertarian state and the Lefties moved in. Moderation is not in the gene pool of Colorado. But when I was there the Lefties in Boulder and at CU were not rabid and if you were able to articulate the conservative side of an argument, they treated you well. It went a long way to getting invited to parties and social gatherings.

When I lifted that lid the first day, I was treated to a complete set of supplies. Crayons, ruler, paper, pencils, and the rest. Supplies provided by the school then, and throughout the year. The only thing I had to bring to school that first day was my school clothes.
This was not a rich school, either. It was a normal neighborhood, with normal middle-class people, and it was the same in every place I lived.
So now parents have to provide everything, and schools are still wailing about their budgets. Really?
Americans are now spending over 3 1/2 times the amount per student that we were back in 1960, in constant dollars adjusted for inflation.
During that same time period, elementary and secondary teacher salaries have only gone up by a factor of about 1.4, also adjusted for inflation, and teachers are scrambling for supplies, often paying for them from their own salaries.
Something stinks in this system, and just pouring more money into it isn't going to fix the real problems.

Ol' Red came in one afternoon and went up to the counter and opened up a little magazine. Two high tone redneck women, mother and daughter ran The Store. I could write a book about those two gals. They were quite well-fed, but would throw off on other women for being fat. Anyway, the daughter was at the counter.
Ol' Red had found some "shemale" porn. That was the first time I'd seen that, I believe. It was "small underground printing" operation, I think. Mostly black and white. But it existed back then.
Anyway, he opened one up in front of the daughter and said whatcha think of that. She screamed out, "Goddamn! Get that shit outta here!". What is that, someone asked. Ol' Red was laughing so hard he couldn't speak and was about to pee his pants, I think. She said, "It's a woman with a goddamned hickey!". "Hickey" was her term for a penis.
But she she was looking all over it, as was everyone else in there. The commentary was hilarious. "Is that what they call a sex-change?" "Hell, must be, but which direction is it going?" "Is that a woman sprouting a pecker, or a man growing tits?"
Another guy, a close neighbor, observed, "Well, she does know how to hold it right, don't she? Or it knows".
And just recalling that day to type about it has me laughing so hard I'm about to piss myself....

He was like a second father to me and my dad. I worked for him in the late fall through winter to get in shape for baseball. We would close around 10pm but not get home until 1am on school nights just talking and laughing and bull shitting. He did not dumpster dive but had me or somebody else do it. Most resourceful man I've ever known. He never would fix anything that broke but just Jimmy rig it.

Comstock went after her, and she spent time in jail and in insane asylums for it. She had just got out of jail and Comstock (who was given a special federal postal inspector position) re-arrested her on more federal charges for sending obscene material through the mail.
At the trial, the judge wouldn't let the jury even read the material, deeming it too obscene. She was convicted and sentenced to five years in the federal pen. She committed suicide the day before she was to report to prison, and wrote a lengthy suicide letter condemning Comstock.
She was concerned with men getting too rough with inexperienced brides who likely didn't know anything about sex (imagine some upper crust types).
Some of her stuff is funny an innaccurate, but by today's standards, it's mild. And yet it was so obscene in the day, they put in her prison for it. And drove her to suicide.

Telephone scams : Some guy with heavily accented English and difficult to understand because of it, was calling me from 'PCH'. It wasn't until later that I realized he was attempting to imply that he was calling from "Publisher's Clearing House" and that I had just won $75,000. "Did you get the letter," he asked.
That's when I laughed and disconnected the call.
I don't take calls from unknown numbers because of shit like this. I keep the phone turned off, because of shit like this. My phone is not for people to call me, it is for me to call other people (which is never).
The only reason I have a phone is for calling a tow truck when the car won't go.

This judge (Mark Wilson is his name) appears to be a real prize catch. He ran as both a Republican and a Democrat (which I guess is legal in Washington County, Pa). Calling it like he sees it. Then he appears to have used his judicial office powers to have the mayor wrongly arrested (according to the DA, who dropped the charges), in the middle of a dispute with the mayor over the judge's performance on the bench.

Had a mini-climate crisis here; like a fool, planted very showy heirloom corn varieties for reception guests to see. Got in late (cold wet spring, late frost), had no rain to speak of: even though surrounding area which grows a lot of corn was just drier than average (and caught up, last weekend), in my actual garden it was the longest spell since '88. So a mile down the road is bounteous 8-10 foot high hybrid, and I have scrawny li'l 3-4 footers just now tasselling off. Ah well, boutique farming. We're usually all done with corn by now.
Beans struggled too. They're coming. Tomatoes, cucumbers, late but ojesus.

Stories about Homeland Security looking at taking over the election, the FBI reporting multiple instances of voting machines and data bases being hacked and allegations that the election can be rigged or altered by some Foreign power.

I looked at the results when 35% of the vote had been counted, and McCain had around 53%. Kelli around 38%, and the other two were pulling 8% or so.
Bottom line, he won easily. Spoilers didn't even matter. But I agree he probably had a hand in 'helping' the other two as an insurance policy.
