1 Good Morning Morons. Today is Saturday, August 27, 2016. On this day in 1883 The volcano Krakatoa erupted with four enormous explosions that destroyed the island of Krakatoa and killed thousands of people with the immediate volcano effects. Other effects due to a huge amount of material in the atmosphere are disputed.

8 Black robe hooligan in NC illegally blocks the NC bathroom law for three crazy people. Typical AP liberal article at Fox:

A federal judge has temporarily ruled that the University of North Carolina can't block two transgender students and an employee from using bathrooms that match their gender identity.

U.S. District Judge Thomas Schroeder on Friday partially granted a preliminary injunction to the students and the employee in response to their lawsuit challenging a state law limiting protections for LGBT people.

IOW he has rendered a State law null and void based on Title IX that clearly states that schools may indeed discriminate based on sex for bathrooms. This stupid black robe was appointed by RINO Bush I and was easily confirmed.

10 AP dutifully rolls out a 20 year old complaint against Trump's campaign manager. This is obviously the work of Scankles' dirty tricks department. Trump should do some opposition research and start rolling out old dirt on Scankles and her minions. They being Democrats there is sure to be multiple felonies she and her goons have been implicated in. He should also roll out some dirt on the AP minions. And the liberal weekend interns at Fox were glad to post this unedited and have moved it to first headline status.

12 Obama has used his pen and phone to radically expand a marine "monument" off the coast of Hawaii by over 400,000 square miles. This severely limits what can be done in this area and completely eliminates fishing in the area by anyone. Congress needs to rewrite the law that allows him to do this on his own hock. This is pure abuse of authority but don't expect the do-nothing Republicans to do anything put posture for the cameras.

25 Environmental Protection is admitting to a spill from a treatment plant it set up after it dumped 3 million gallons of toxic wastewater into a Colorado river last year.

The spill occurred near the site of last year's spill at the abandoned Gold King Mine in Silverton, Colo., where agency contractors didn't adequately check the mine's pressure before attempting to open it up after several years of being idle. The result was a massive mine blowout that sent 3 million gallons of metal-tainted water into the waterways of three states.

The DM article said the mother confessed that they had injected the child with meth to "calm her down" so that the mother's boyfriend could rape her. Then he strangled her, and the cousin held her hand over the child's mouth while the mother stabbed the child in the stomach. I don't remember if they specified who did the dismembering, or who had put the body in the bathtub and set it on fire, but by that point I hardly cared. I wanted them all fed to hungry rats.

75 50 Hi Cloyd - I do not have any direct experience with the Appleseed Project, but I have heard a lot of good things about the program. I suppose it depends on your objectives. If you want to generally just shoot and casually enjoy the sport, then once you get a handle on the basics you're good to go. If you want to compete at some level (which is a LOT of fun!) then some instruction is necessary.
I went from zero weapon familiarity, to fumbling around on my own, to private instruction. So I would think Appleseed would be a good way to go and if you fingpd it's not interesting or serving your needs, then you can look around for something else. What kind of shooting are you interested in?

I generally just mess around. Plinking, fun shooting, that sort of thing. My accuracy isn't nearly what it should be, and I've begun to suspect that it's because I never really received good instruction in shooting fundamentals.

In trying to find information on the net I ran across Appleseed and it seems to have a lot to recommend it.

93 A friend linked an article about the little girl on FB. One of the articles suggested underneath it was a story about a 17-year-old girl who was abducted while walking home from school, then subjected to several hours of rape and assault. When her abductor fell asleep she managed to free herself. Then she found a kitchen knife, cut off the man's testicles, put them on a plate and microwaved them. The perp left his gun sitting on the counter, so she pointed the gun at him and made him eat his own testicles.

So it was a good news/bad news story - bad news about the girl being raped; good news about the perp being forced to eat his own junk. And the girl will not be charged with anything.

That story almost made up for the horror of the little girl in New Mexico.

109 If you live near MS, this just might interest you:

When Humphreys refers to "the weekend," he´s talking about Mississippi´s tax-free weekend on guns and ammunition. The state´s third Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday began at 12:01 Friday and runs through midnight Sunday. During the period, consumers can buy any type of firearm, ammunition, archery equipment and other hunting-related accessories without paying Mississippi's 7 percent sales tax.

We take the 2nd Amendment very seriously here. Eat your hearts out, NJ NY and IL among others. Now, if you don't have MS ID you can't buy a gun (without going thru one of your state's licensed dealers), but no ID is required for the ammo or other items on the list.

The problem is that we have a class of "educators" who are so delusional, reinforced by their academic echo chambers, that they think that their decadence is brilliance and use their positions to poison the minds of everyone who goes through the (mal-) education system.

They are convinced that society's thousands of years of evolution, finding what promoted stable societies and long life, and avoiding things that lead to instability and death was an accident. They think that they're such special snowflakes that they have some great secret and special ability to just throw all of history out the window, make it Year 0, and reinvent the world in their image.

What a stupid time to be alive.

They'd be happy to use an ice age as an exploitable crisis too, and the media would trot out Neil Degrasse Tyson to cover for the cognitive dissonance that otherwise would occur. That's why they switched to "climate change", to cover their bets for any weather that happens.

Posted by: Cloyd Freud, Unemployed

Cloyd, I can highly recommend the Appleseeds. I've been twice, once with another Moron, once with an old Army buddy of mine and my 16yo daughter.

It's a great program, as you mentioned your accuracy really isn't what it once was. The whole deal is teaching you how to go through the proper steps to make THE GOOD SHOT.

It's not going to make you a Super Elite Operator, but unless you're already at the level where you are competing at least at the local level, I guarantee you'll walk away a better shot.

There's very much emphasis on safety (as with all respectable firearm courses), as well as drilling through the stages of the shot. There are also a couple breaks for "history lessons", revolving around "The Shot Heard 'Round The World", that address the need for a person to own and be proficient with a rifle, which is kinda neat. Nothing political, just good ole 2A primer-stuff.

My one buddy was in the Army with me, my other is my hunting buddy, and my daughter is a seasoned hunter. We all walked away better shots. Even met a Marine Lieutenant I became friends with there couldn't wait to pass some of the things he learned on to his guys.

I'm lucky in that my closest Appleseeds are at the Home Range in Ramseur, NC. Both my classes were taught by Fred (the founder).

You can take anything you can shoot, lots use 22s to keep things cheap (I think you go through about 200-300 rounds over the 2-day class, but there are 1-day classes too). I ran one with .22, I think I ran the other with my FAL. Saw lots of ARs, even one guy ran it with a Mosin.

Very highly recommended.

162 #7 - when they do get to prison, I suspect they will only leave feet first. The actual sentence will be beside the point. We can only hope.

In a world with justice they would never go to prison. They would be taken to the closest tree and hung immediately after a quick trial.

164 Agreed but that is not the world we live in anymore - unfortunely.

165 " Trump should do some opposition research and start rolling out old dirt on Scankles and her minions." vic

yeah, too bad the left has armies inside the bureaucracy and the media to roll out their attacks. They have 1000 Lerners inside the IRS, they have the justice department with selective prosecution (and selective non-prosecution ... of Hillary, Lerner, Sharpton) Our entire government and media is weaponized against patriotic American movements.

Black Lives Matter threatens to (and does) kill (especially white) cops, yet they are part of the Hillary campaign, no problem. But the alt-right coming out against forced diversity and they are suddenly the kkk.

People seem to accept that the Clintons are corrupt liars ... so their whole campaign now is to trash Trump, and claim the whole nation is guilty of "systemic racism". Only those acknowledging "white privilege" have standing in Hillary's America, where it is actually the plutocrats that are served.

166 >>>147 I worked in child welfare for many years and became a praying person to get relief from the vicarious trauma from the things I saw done to children, large and small.

I wound up working for the head judge of the family court, and used to marvel at her ability to not step down from the bench and hammer some of these people on the head with her gavel. She was one tough broad. But then I remembered she always had 2 glasses of wine at lunch.

Thank you for telling that. That's very sad.
