Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | How Many Transgenders In America? 0.006% = About 20,000. Total. [CBD]Commenter Golfman provided this very interesting link: Interactive map: Census estimates for transgender population by state. A quick perusal of both the high and low estimates gives me a very rough calculation of about 6 transgenders/100,000 Americans. Following the link to the Census Bureau paper yields about the same number. And yes, that is a very small number. Assuming a population of about 320,000,000, that means that you will probably never meet a transgender, and if you don't live in a particularly dense area you might not ever be within 50 feet of one. Just to put it in perspective: Albinism runs at about 1/17,000 worldwide. Achondroplasia, the most common form of Dwarfism, occurs in 1 in 15,000 to 40,000 newborns. Male breast cancer represents 1% of all breast cancers, 2,600 new cases diagnosed in the U.S. each year. That's at least 6-8 times the number of transgenders born each year. According to Wikipedia, 6,500 U.S. Military veterans committed suicide in 2012.That's at least 20 times the number of new transgenders. And shall we look at the anorexia rate? "Anorexia is estimated to occur in 0.9% to 4.3% of women and 0.2% to 0.3% of men in Western countries at some point in their life." Why Anorexia? Because it is the most similar example of "Body Dysmorphia" I can think of. Transgenders look in the mirror and see something that isn't there, or they obsessively wish that the image was different. How does that differ from Anorexia? Yet Transgenderism is celebrated and protected, but Anorexia is treated aggressively, because when left untreated, anorexics die! Of course Transgenders die too, mostly by suicide (41% attempt or succeed). But by all means, let us celebrate and enable these profoundly disturbed Americans, instead of providing comprehensive psychiatric and medical treatment to overcome their significant, life-threatening illness. I have come to the conclusion that there are two major elements driving American party politics:
Stealing money in significant amounts and calling it legal; and Promoting electing and protecting politicians who have horrible skeletons in their closets so they are completely controllable when they get to high office. With those two goads I would not be surprised at anything coming out of DC or any state capitol. Posted by: Kindltot at May 28, 2016 10:17 AM (ry34m) 10

I think that some research is in order. There's an assumption that has now become used as if it's a fact that all the other sexual orientations are always in born.
This may be true. I'm not arguing that either way. But some genuine and non-agenda driven research needs to be done to put this question to rest. And it is a question. Yes for some people it appears to be from birth but for others it can be acquired. Because of the hate that the other sexually oriented radicals can stir up, research (real research) has been stymied and slowed to a screeching halt because somehow that's a hate crime. It's not in their interests to find the truth but it is in general for the culture, the country and the world to finally determine what causes someone to have a sexual attraction to other than the "Normal" one of Male+Female. I don't really care either way what is discovered but it needs to be examined. Who knows, it might turn out that doing so will quiet some of the most vociferous opponents. I'm guessing, no one will be pleased with the results and both sides will deny it but at least the facts will be out there. Posted by: Bitter Clinger and All That at May 28, 2016 10:21 AM (Xo1Rt) 19

The potty wars are not about the rights of the transgendered, it is a new front in the Cultural Marxism war in which the pillars of traditional society are destroyed in order to usher in a new socialist regime. It will not stop here but continue until they have accomplished this goal.
CULTURAL MARXISM: The gradual process of destroying all traditions, languages, religions, individuality, government, family, law and order in order to re-assemble society in the future as a communist utopia. This utopia will have no notion of gender, traditions, morality, god or even family or the state. The Philosophy was proven not to Work already by Vladimir Lenin as he tried in vein to control and subjugate the people. He admitted before he died that capitalism was the only true system in which people understand how to live with each other.... Lenin knew that there were a few western Idiots who kept spreading the communist ideas long after Lenin gave up.... he called these people useful idiots as they had more emotion than brains and could be used to subvert the western states for a military takeover in the future as the citizens would already be perverted and sick and weak from poisonous ideas, decadent lusts and mindless entertainment. Saw "XMen: Apocalypse" yesterday.
Though I didn't have much hope for it, I actually liked it quite a bit. More so than the previous 2 XMen movies in this cycle/reboot/remake/gamisch The story is very lean this time around and doesn't waste any time at all setting up the characters and conflicts. Origins and introductions are kept to a minimum. The acting is solid. And the actor playing the Apocalypse character who could've been quite the cornball, is very good as the near-god calmly and assuredly going about his business. There are some spectacular action set pieces that are very well done. If you're not suffering from superhero fatigue, you'll enjoy this latest XMEN outing. I guess my only complaint, is more aimed at DC Comics who've been wasting their time turning Superman into a whiny emo in the movies. When they could've been establishing their 2nd tier characters to good effect. The most spectacular character in XMen: Apocalypse with the best action sequences is "Quicksilver". Who is a complete "Flash" ripoff, right down to the positive, confident, yet spritely attitude. As Flash was one of the comic book characters I enjoyed most, I've been kinda hoping to see a good take on him in the movies. I just have. Only it wasn't in a "Flash" movie. But, I guess at this point I'll have to do with the mopey, whiny trannie emo that will be DC Movies Flash. *sigh* Aaaannnnnyyyyway, check it out. I think normalizing deviant/psychologically unhealthy behavior is a recruitment tool. It becomes fashionable. Right now it seems to be fashionable to be gay, Next it will become fashionable to be transgendered. It removes the social constraints and encourages people to open themselves up to behaviors that can end up in suicide.
The father of lies always wants you dead. Always. Leftism always leads to death, not life. What if we normalized and encouraged anorexia? Or decided that psychotic breaks were the new normal? We would get a generation of mentally ill people literally starving themselves to death. The enemy wants you dead. Always death. Posted by: grammie winger at May 28, 2016 10:40 AM (dFi94) 49

And with the embrace from olympics on down to women's softball leagues there is also now a hook for athletes trying to get to glory or get back into glory. CBD - That teeny, tiny number is EXACTLY why the Left has veered into Gender Identity. With transgenders they want to go from one biological sex to the other, period.
However, once you switch from sex change-->gender identity, it opens up the floodgates to all sorts of additional people, the whole "gender fluid" crowd who have (so far) identified 50+ genders. Well, now we're talking about a much larger population of people to be treated as a protected class - and *that* is where the action is, civil rights, lawsuits, etc. Posted by: Lizzy at May 28, 2016 10:44 AM (NOIQH) 62

Just look at the 31 gender identities recognized by NYC - gender bender, gender gifted, gender fluid - what does that even mean? It means these are people who want to be special and different, not necessarily who want to change be the opposite sex and move on with their life.
Then there are the 'I'm whatever gender my clothes say I am' crowd, such as cross-dresser, drag king, drag queen, butch. Seems like this crows wants the rules to be: if I come to work in chinos and an izod, call be John Smith, but if I come in wearing a dress and heels, then you must refer to me as Princess Peaches. Seemed like an overestimation. 20,000 seems low. Om sure there are better numbers out there from actual empirical studies. If not, there should be. We are so fucked up as a nation. Maybe they're protected and even celebrated by leftists/progressives because transgenderism falls into the perversion category, unlike other mental illnesses. And it is pretty perverse for a man to tape his johnson up to hide it, while wearing lipstick and a dress. If it's twisted, lefties seem to gravitate to it.

I just wish as mindful says below that the efx were of a higher caliber, but...TV. I thought this season the writing toward the end suffered a bit, though I liked that idea that they'll be doing their version of "The Flashpoint Paradox" next season. It would be kind of cool if they spread its effects throughout the other CW shows in their limited DC Universe, with lots of crossovers. But, I doubt they have the money of writing talent for that. and yeah, I love that they have Gorilla Grodd. A. Supeintelligent Gorilla. Villain. That shows that the makers of Flash understand the idea of a comic book show. Plus, when a wee tad, I always looked forward to Grodd's appearances in the Flash comic. MOAR GRODD. Second, all of the sex stuff is also an=bout destroying the healthy development of a strong sense of self, which makes people much easier to control by the state - see blogger Bookroom's illuminating post on how this works: http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2010/07/sex_and_state_power.html Posted by: Lizzy at May 28, 2016 11:11 AM (NOIQH) 112

The FBI investigation of Hillary can go beyond deliberate mishandling of confidential information. If it does, Sid Vicious can be a target.
Sid was the point on a lot of Hillary's anti-Obama shenanigans during the 2008 election, including starting Birtherism. Because of this, the Obamans insisted that Sid not join Hillary at State, but Hillary let him join her own private spy network. If there's a hint of Sid being guilty of anything, I can't see Obama/Lynch holding back Comey. Big Known Unkown: What's on the 30,000 "private" e-mails that Hillary insisted not be put at risk of getting accessed. 30,000 divided by 4 years at State works out to about 20 to 25 a day. Once Theils role in the Gawker case became known, the progs are losing their shit. Now the guy who runs ebay, a committed prog, is determined to support Gawkers appeal. 222 The census data is undercounting trannies because many tend to be shy around officials or don't want to talk about it. How Many Transgenders In America? 0.006% = About 20,000.
More importantly, how many convicted sex offenders are there in this country, who will now be able to go into the same bathrooms, changing rooms, and shower rooms that your 12 year old daughter uses. I have no problem with transgenders living their lives the way they see fit, until they intrude on the safety of other people. These bathroom mandates are asking to be exploited by child molesters and rapists. Public restrooms are already trolling grounds for sex offenders. Now people won't be able to throw them out. There was one occasion when we were at a restaurant in Santa Monica late at night, two painfully bad transvestites sat down in the next booth. They were both in vintage outfits, like something Lois Lane would have worn in the original Superman TV series. This alone would have made actual women stand out but these two were both at least six feet tall and one had a noticeable five o'clock shadow. We kept looking around for a hidden camera. This pair was so strange, like Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis doing a test run for 'Some Like It Hot' to see if they'd fool anyone but choosing clothes decades out of date. That was actually kind of amusing. Mostly, the ones you spot are just sad. Posted by: Epobirs at May 28, 2016 12:27 PM (IdCqF) 257

What's changed is that you cannot now throw them out of the women's bathroom for being revealed as a man. The X-Men were always kind of in a separate universe from the rest of the comics, even though they were allegedly part of the same world. i don't know about the numbers. I don't doubt that the Census Bureau is correct./ But when you start letting five year olds decide that they are a girl--regardless of their plumbing, you are going to see some bad choices.
A couple of weeks ago in the midst of another Los Angeles Times promotions of all things transgender and progressive etc. a Los Angeles Unified School District official was quoted as saying that ten years ago there were something like 40 students in the LAUSD (one of the biggest school districts in the country) who "self identified" as transgender. Today, there are one thousand such students in the district. That's a 25 fold increase in just 10 years. I'm sorry folks, but physical biology doesn't change that fast. What goes on in people's heads can change that fast. If it's trendy to be TG, some folks are going to jump on the trend. Posted by: Comanche Voter at May 28, 2016 12:57 PM (Sda6L) 340

When dealing with the left, always look into their words for what's coming next. What do they have hiding in the wings?
They are only doling out tiny morsels of their beliefs. They are always playing a game to fill time during what they feel is a "transitional period" on their way to Utopia. When they say "Anyone can be male or female, depending on what they choose to be," think about what that means down the road. Why are they saying that when they want to erase gender altogether? This will get much worse. I agree that pedophiles will soon become a victim group deserving of protected status. Age of consent laws will very soon come under attack from the Left. Look, women like exciting strong, potentially dangerous men who are yet able to provide for and protect them.
Men like physically exciting women who are beautiful and can make them feel good inside and out. So we make dumb mistakes and go for the outlaw biker and the stacked brunette who can't do math. Because they're the easy choices that fit these desires. What we really need is someone who will inspire and help us be better than who we are, who will share wisdom and life with us, who will stay true and help us through the best and worst times without wavering, and will walk into eternity with us. As Taylor said it was allegory for civil rights, and then gays under Brian Singer. The shouting marchers waving signs was a device that Watchmen and Incredibles used, but they were smart enough not to linger on it. ?Angel? in ?X-men 2? had a dad who lamented "Why can't I have a normal boy?". All the subtlety of a sledgehammer. When he revealed his beautiful wings, I murmured to a friend "Oh god, what a hideous monster!". The movie, as best as I remember it, was begging to be riffed on. The liberal pathos and animus is that the world is filled with caustic people who's position is unthinkable and entrenched. My fear is that they look at a Westboro Baptist mouth-breathers and say "Look there is a conservative." I am hopeful for the future and the voice the internet has given to conservatives and moderates. Milo Y said that he champions free speech enough that "I want to give racists [extremists et al] a soapbox..." I cringe at the 3-second soundbite material, but that's exactly where the argument jumps from. Sunlight is the best disinfectant. Racists were not formed in sunlight, and in their little cave they instinctively know they've grown to their limit. Feminists and BLM people HATE being filmed for the same reasons. Anyone an expert at tracing IP addresses?
I'm prepping three years' worth of death threats to upoload to the Mohammed Image Archive mail page and in most cases I do an IP trace to include the sender's nation of origin. But whenever somebody uses a Google GMail address, it seems (as far as I can tell) that the originating IP is not included in the "long header" of the email which shows all the routing info. The trace always goes back to the Google HQ bit stops there and doesn't go any further. So my question is: Is there a way to trace the true originating IP of emails sent through GMail? The little secret feminists want to deny is that women are smaller and physically weaker than men, and reach out for protection. That doesn't make women weaker than men overall, they have their strengths men can only admire and dream of. But women are like hobbits in an orc world, and no matter how much you shout "hear me roar" and read Hunger Games, that doesn't change basic human and physical nature. Men need women, desperately, to help us be better, more civilized, and more decent. Our basic inclinations are to brutality and barbarism, and we need the gentling influence of women to make us into better men. You can tell what men become in an all-male extended environment: filthy, foul, dangerous, and brutal. Each compliments and plays off the other. Men help women be more realistic and tough about life, women help men be more caring and ideal about life. Between the two, we find a better whole. When either is out of this careful perspective, horrors result. Right now, women are too much in power. Posted by: Christopher Taylor at May 28, 2016 01:21 PM (39g3+) 418

ThunderB @364 - just yesterday an old DC friend and I were marveling/lamenting about another aspect of the same thing: here is yet another issue where the Beltway GOP is unwilling to engage in politics, even though the opportunity to do the popular + politically advantageous thing is there.
See the House's actions on this topic. Very hard to believe any opinion surveys on this topic, given the self-censorship and other bias dynamics likely to be in play, but the idea of opening up female locker rooms to everyone cannot possibly be anything but universally unpopular. Yet another issue where a very unpopular (and stupid, and indefensible) idea is more or less crammed down the nation's throat. While a putatively representative federal system with an "opposition" party just basically sits there, passive. You'd think such an outrageous state of affairs might give rise to, say, an unconventional presidential candidate. Oh, wait. Posted by: rhomboid at May 28, 2016 01:26 PM (QDnY+) 424

There are no food deserts but there are crime oases. Businesses like supermarkets are going to go in anywhere where there are enough people to create a sufficient net revenue stream. Things like shoplifting and robbery directly reduce that net revenue. If a neighborhood is subject to crime levels that make it impossible to profitably run a business, those businesses will not build there. Crime drives away and keeps away businesses. The poverty pimps would like to make everyone believe the lack of the businesses causes crime. Posted by: Epobirs at May 28, 2016 01:32 PM (IdCqF) 431

Re "happy Memorial Day", the inappropriate tone noted in signs simply reflects the hollowing-out of the holiday and its conversion into simply another 3-day weekend and "official start of summer!".
There's another confusion - that between Memorial and Veterans' Days - but that's more understandable and separate (one for the killed in action, one for the still-living). In a country now substantially cleansed of its best features, ideas, historical sense, and traditions, and so substantially transformed into an unthinking, bigoted, ignorant mass of passive yet manic narcissists, a holiday like Memorial Day is beyond rescue (for the majority, now, for all but a freakish minority, soon enough). "Remember Memorial Day" is quick and pithy, but it would require the person doing the sign to comprehend the point of it.

Posted by: Christopher Taylor at May 28, 2016 01:21 PM (39g3+) Excellent precis. Well in keeping with the non-clearance sale element of Memorial Day, trying to burn through the last part of a book on the rather amazing New Guinea campaign of 1942 (Ghost Mountain Boys).
I find the style very difficult, have to force myself through and basically skip whole sections where the author puts himself, fiction-like, into people's minds or weaves in personal info. Anyway, the hardships and horror of the campaign, arising from the lack of training/understanding/equipment for jungle warfare are amazing. Basically both sides were starving and collapsing under assorted health maladies right until the end (when the American side started to get some decent supply). MacArthur also comes across as a psycho who should never have authority over other people, specifically utterly callous about casualties, in contrast to his later reputation (self-promoted?) as a careful strategist striving to minimize casualties in the later stages of the Pacific campaign. But given the weaknesses of the book overall, this assessment must be very tentative of course. Posted by: rhomboid at May 28, 2016 02:04 PM (QDnY+) 462

It's not just SF though. West Hollywood is a municipality carved out almost solely for the purpose of being an openly gay place. One thing I noticed when I was doing contract work, changing out computers at Wells Fargo bank branches, is the big branch in West Hollywood was the only one that, instead of little candy dishes to placate small children while the parent took care of business, had little bowls of dog treats. Because this was a place where dogs outnumbered children by orders of magnitude. Then there is Hollywood in a business sense, which is a huge draw for deviants of all sorts. But it's a very big state. If the traditional story holds, OR and WA would have big concentrations for the same reason as San Francisco. Navy ports. Guys join the Navy to get out of Podunk, discover a certain something about themselves during their hitch, and realize they're never going back to Podunk and settle down in the place they were discharged. 160 Is Memorial Day supposed to be "happy?"
Light-up signage on the toll roads in both IN and IL were wishing me a happy Memorial Day. Honoring our fallen heroes with happiness doesn't ring right with me. Posted by: the littl shyning man at May 28, 2016 11:42 AM (wYENM) Yes, "Happy Memorial Day" just doesn't sound right, unless you're hoping the person has a nice cookout. I don't know what to say. Posted by: rickl at May 28, 2016 01:41 PM (sdi6R) Ask the ordinary person under the age of 40 what Memorial Day means and they will not be sure. They think it has something to do with remembering people who have died, or some big battle somewhere. It's the rare family that takes a the time to go to the cemetery today and clean off the graves of family members who served, or even non military family members. Fewer and fewer towns have memorial day parades, etc. Small sunrise services in military sections of cemeteries, and the VFW will have it's dwindling old members go out and plant flags on graves. It's more or less a three day weekend to vacation, go the lake, start the summer, etc. Oh, and don't forget those sales at the mall or the car dealer extravaganzas. Mark Levin last night ripped on the loss of the country's conscious effort to appreciate the sacrifice. Lincolntf, that's pretty cool about the Coke bottle.
When I finished the garage, I found an old 7-Up bottle-opener (wall-mounted kind) that I remember from my yute. It's now installed on the wall next to the reloading bench. Atop which there is a 50-yr old little can of Outter's gun oil my oldest brother must have bought back in the 60s (still a bit left in it, so I use it). Grey Fox, yep the Aussies were a big part of the campaign, they fought along the Kokoda Track (only real trail across the mountains from Port Moresby to Buna area). The Ghost Mountain Boys were so dubbed because they basically crossed the mountains using a hunter's trail, at times no trail at all. Serious mountains, unbelievable jungle, rivers, no special equipment or training. As poorly written as I find the book, it's yet another true tale I'd love to have summarized for a college class today, to illustrate what people their age were doing two generations ago. For, you know, perspective. Posted by: rhomboid at May 28, 2016 02:17 PM (QDnY+) 470

She has been permitted to use the boys restroom at school. I'm in a military town (comparatively, and one of the few left in the country, and probably come to think of it by far the largest one) - meaning military matters, presence, and mindset/awareness are a significant part of local life. But here too anything like Memorial Day is a small and declining reality, beyond the day off, "start of summer", and sales. There will be a fairly big event at the memorial cross that various idiots have spent fortunes and decades trying to have removed (WTF?), and I'm sure events at the large national cemetery. The historical vandalism committed by the repugnant non-entity disgracing the Oval Office just adds to the degradation. Posted by: rhomboid at May 28, 2016 02:23 PM (QDnY+) 474

Great post. I often talk about having laws about "transgenders" is roughly like making law to affect / protect Donald Gooch's - as there are about as many people by that name as there are transgenders in the population. This is the endgame of moral relativism, progressive Leftism, critical theory, etc. The real question is how far they can continue to bamboozle a majority of the citizenry with faux minority rights rhetoric. - MacArthur certainly had his faults, many of them grievous, and he talked blood and guts but in practice he was a hit 'em where they ain't general. Perhaps his greatest success, for example, was out flanking the Norks by his landings at Inchon. Similarly, he bypassed the Japs in their Rabaul stronghold leaving them to whither on the vine rather than to launch a costly invasion. At best the estimate includes only a portion of the transgender population since it is based on name changes registered with Social Security and gender marker changes - presumably on birth certificates. Only people who elect to live full-time in their chosen gender would make these changes. These people are considered "transexuals" and constitute only a minority of what comprises our "transgender" population. The Williams Institute at UCLA estimates that transgender people constitute 3-tenths of 1% of the population or 3 in every 1000 people. Thus the William's Institute's estimate results in 3000 transgender people for every 100,000 people. The writer's conclusions are grossly erroneous.
