26 And since this thread popped up immediately after I posted this on the last thread I will bring it forward.

Why are so many people so concerned when some people say they are
sitting this election out? It really makes no difference in nearly all
the States if a Republican here and there sits it out.

There are
only a few States like FL, VA, OH, and now NC where every vote counts. I
don't plan on voting this election and it will have zero impact on SC.
It will go Republican by a large margin whether I vote or not.

Presidential
voting only matters State by State, the population vote doesn't count,
and neither does county by county as someone tried to bring up a few
days ago.

74 OK I see the link now:

From the link:

Many are asking what Republicans plan to do to stop Obamas executive
war on culture and religious liberty in pursuit of cultural Marxism.
Now we know that not only will this party do nothing to stop Obama, it
will use its control of Congress to codify Obamas agenda into law.

Late Wednesday night, Republicans allowed a vote on an amendment from
Rep. Sean Maloney, D N.Y., which codified Obamas executive order 13672
making transgenderism the law of the land. Obamas executive order,
promulgated in July 2014, instructed bureaucrats to sever contracts with
companies that dont follow the Obama-mandated sexual identity agenda.
This could include companies that dont allow men into womens
bathrooms in their private corporate offices. The Maloney amendment to
the $37.4 billion FY 2017 Energy Water Appropriations Bill (H.R.
5055) codified that unilateral act into law.

So how does that go with this news item on Fox?

Conservatives angered by the inclusion of LGBT protections in an
otherwise routine spending bill scuttled the measure Thursday, a stark
display of the potency of a civil rights issue suddenly prominent in the
presidential race and responsible for a legal standoff between the
Obama administration and several states.

One of those has to be wrong.

75 The American Revolution was fought to earn our independence from George III's Britain. The current state of America is a ruling elite class that is so vastly different from us proles that they cannot understand our way of thinking. They believe they have a divine right to rule over us, and that our place is to bow before them and serve them.

Current conditions didn't lead to the American Revolution. They lead to the French Revolution, shortly thereafter.

"House conservatives on Thursday blocked passage of a relatively uncontroversial energy and water spending measure after Democrats attached an amendment that would bar federal contractors from discriminating against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

The appropriations bill failed 305-112, with a majority of Republicans opposed because of the gay rights provision, which would have the effect of enacting into law a 2014 executive order by President Barack Obama. yada, et cetera and so forth

The resulting failure of the $37.4 billion FY 2017 Energy & Water Appropriations Bill (H.R. 5055) to advance to the Senate means that millions of people are at risk of losing electrical power, that sustainable, environmentally friendly, electrical power is delayed, that many local communities like Flint will be forced to drink tainted water all because the GOP refused to allow a vote on an issue of vital national interest.

Most Democrats voted against the bill due to its spending levels and policy riders. Taken together with Republicans who opposed the LGBT measure, the Energy Department spending bill didnt have enough votes to pass Thursday.

It failed 112-305, with 130 Republicans joining all but six Democrats to sink the legislation.

I guess that like TFG, the GOPe thinks Trump stands a good chance of winning this thing-

So they're going to spend the last remaining months of the pre-Trump era-

enacting the progtard wish list

because most elected GOP Senators and House members must be stealth progressives as opposed to the center-right/conservative individuals the portray on TV ads.

I suppose amnesty will will pass right after the election.

This is enabled by the #NeverTrumps as their petulant anti-Trumpism can be spun as support for the GOPe.

This should make our #NeverTrumps extremely happy as it will prevent Trump from accomplishing anything conservative that he's promised since he'll have to use all of his political capital fighting this nonsense.

Well done, #NeverTrumps. Your shiny imaginary-world integrity is an inspiration to us all.

There is going to be a spike in trannies bc they are encouraging it especially in children, including drugging them. And remember just feeling that you are the opposite sex is enough to make you a tranny.

Regardless, it does not make it any less of a mental disorder which the vast majority of them regret.

I don't care what color you are, what church you go to (or not), I only care what your genitals you're packing if we're going to sleep together and I am convinced that everyone is retarded to some extent, so I have no choice but to accept the disabled.

My problem with this is that none of it is a Federal issue. Nor is it a State issue. Nor is it a municipal issue. It's not a government issue at all.

Why is it anyone's obligation to accommodate anyone else? If Billy Jim Joe Bob wants to ban somebody from his store... I don't care. Ban me all you want. I will go somewhere else and take everyone like me and who thinks like me with me.

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 had good intentions, but it should have been thrown out on Constitutional grounds or a least common sense grounds. All that accomplished was setting a precedent for an endless stream of "groups" to self identify as something and use that as grounds to prosecute someone else. There is nothing fair or equal or non discriminatory about it. It codified discrimination and made it mandatory so long as you can find some way to call yourself different.

341 There was a time when we paid for basic things with regular tax.

The city got very angry when voters passed a law that they could only raise property tax with a referendum vote. So they threw fees on everything, added new taxes, and raised all other fees.

Streets are still trashed, sidewalks look like a motocross track, steet lights are flickering and scattered, but by God the quarterly "free" basketball tournament where they shut down streets is booming.

342 I have an acre, so minus my house, detached garage and driveway, 98% of my property is lawn or flowerbeds/trees.

We get charged for "storm water" here - ?
I guess it's supposedly to dispose of it, but I have pics of neighbors kayaking down the street...
Ain't doing a great job of it.

98% would mean a tiny house, driveway and garage. A acre is 43560 sq. feet. I have no way of knowing, but I would guess that house, garage, driveway are more on the order of 10%.

I think the success of that last landing even took them by surprise.

I like how they keep pushing the envelope. The last one came in hot because they were trying to minimize the amount of fuel devoted to landing. They are refining their operations and seeing what they can get away with.

Now it's all surcharges for basic services so they can fund the FSA with our regular taxes.

When I was in Midland, the mayor was crowing about not raising taxes and cutting taxes. Meanwhile, the appraisal office was reassessing properties using magic math. Property taxes jumped by double digits from one year to the next.

I was selling my house at the time and getting out of that loony bin as fast as I could. I went to the appraisal office, slapped down the contract and bank appraisal, and said, "Tell you what, if you can find a buyer to pay your value and, more importantly, a bank to finance that value, then cut me a check, you can have the house and I will pay your tax rate".

They escorted me to a back room, I laughed at the dork behind the desk and he quietly adjusted my rate so long as I left quickly and promised not to tell anyone. They got the first part.

On a side note, I was eating lunch and watching the launch when the shuttle went all splody on me, and watching when the last shuttle was coming home and disintegrated. We will put real people on these rockets one day soon, God's speed I always say.

You continue to express the many ways you don't understand Trump. The best example I can come up with is Caligula. I'm willing to bet that you would have opposed the appointment of Caligula's horse to the Senate because the horse would have made a horrible Senator. You fail to see the actual point, and that point is that Caligula didn't appoint his horse to the Senate because he thought it would make a good Senator.

Trump is all down with the transgender/bathroom thing. "not a big deal..there have been zero problems." So he is already wearing THAT shirt. But that picture of him eating at McDonalds proves he is just a regular, common sense, down to earth American. What more evidence is needed?? I saw it with my own eyes.

361 There are those who say that this is a minor issue. But as a woman and the mother of two (grown) girls, allowing men into our restrooms, locker rooms, and dressing rooms has a direct and repressive impact on my life.

It reduces the number of places I feel I can safely go to. If men are allowed into my locker room at the rec center, for instance (which has zero privacy), I simply won't be able to work out there anymore.

As it is, I won't go to Target or any other place which has no safety measures in place for these vulnerable areas.

It's clear to me that trans trumps female (and most trans are men). I thought we were making advances for women over my lifetime, but we are going backwards now. And with scarcely a peep out of so-called feminists, who are apparently cowed or stupid and willing to roll over for what (mostly) men demand.

And of course, using an individual family restroom won't do for these trans: They MUST be in ours, and our comfort and safety doesn't count at all. Millions of women and girls count for . . . exactly nothing. War on women.

This is no minor issue to me. Already I can't go to my neighborhood Target without worry and uncertainty (and I refuse to go), and I'm newly uncomfortable regarding all women's safe spaces, in fact, in this atmosphere.

362 Women taking third place to sharia rights, gay rights, illegal immigrant rights, etc.

Unfortunately Trump has the superficial grasp of a 70's swinger-"You got your thing, baby, I got mine, far out."

He doesn't know there is a whole agenda including polygamy, bigamy, chain marriage, child marriage, indoctrinating pre-schoolers, quotas, affirmative action, criminalizing dissent, etc., etc.

He thinks its about Caitlyn, but the legal standard is what its about. Anybody can have access anywhere anytime no questions can be asked--that's the legal standard they're seeking.

Calling it a states issue is a dodge. The marriage debacle taught us that.

Those representatives need challengers--Ryan, too, for allowing it. But Trump may not get it until the crime victims and lawsuits start piling up.

Under [Obama's exec] rule, any company that wanted to contract with the federal government had to adopt special LGBT rights first -- including policies on genderless bathrooms and showers. Essentially, organizations had a choice: they could swallow their beliefs to get a government job or make themselves ineligible by operating according to their faith.

For two years, Rep. Maloney and his party have been trying to turn that order -- which doesn't have the force of law -- into a U.S. statute that does. And last night, it seemed like they'd succeeded. In a stunning turn of events, the Maloney amendment passed -- thanks to 43 Republicans, who turned their back on the First Amendment and voted with the far-Left. Conservatives were shocked. Almost four dozen members of the GOP had gone on the record, agreeing with President Obama that: 1) religious liberty has no place in the public marketplace; and 2) support for gay rights and transgenderism should be a condition of government work.

No free country -- least of all America -- should punish faith-based contractors like the Salvation Army for exercising their First Amendment freedoms in hiring and firing. Yet that's exactly what the measure would have done. Fortunately, conservatives managed to push back on Maloney at the last minute by reaffirming the religious liberty of these faith-based groups in an amendment from Rep. Bradley Byrne (R-Ala.). (No thanks to seven Republicans -- Reps. Mike Coffman (Colo.); Carlos Curbelo (Fla.); Charlie Dent (Pa.); Robert Dold (Ill.); John Katko (N.Y.); Frank LoBiondo (N.J.); and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (Fla.) -- who outed themselves as enemies of America's First Freedom.) In a nod to the national firestorm over transgender "rights," conservatives also took a swipe at President Obama's war on states that refuse to adopt his genderless bathroom, shower, and locker room policy. By a 227-192 vote, they barred the administration from withholding federal funds to punish any state that did not comply.

Despite those two bright spots, it didn't take long for the bad news about the Maloney amendment to spread. Within hours, phones on Capitol Hill started ringing off the hook. Angry voters demanded to know why Republicans had helped to pass a measure that was eerily similar to the transgender bathroom policy Obama is trying to force on the nation's schools. Suddenly, moderate Republicans started to panic. So much so that when the final bill came to the floor today, the bill crashed and burned 305-112. Ironically, it was killed by people on both sides: conservatives opposed to the Maloney amendment and Democrats, who despite floating their LGBT agenda onto the bill, had no intention of supporting the legislation in the first place. They only hijacked it to make a political statement. Even Sean Maloney, whose language created this mess, voted against the bill!

366 Why wouldn't they?
Trump demands anyone be allowed to use the bathroom they feel like using.

And hey, you're 100% behind Trump now; so following Trump's lead and being a NY liberal must be what the GOP voters want.

Is that not accurate?
How should the GOP Congress know that isn't what you really want?

Either support liberals or don't.
But this running hot cold sometimes a liberal is the greatest thing ever sometimes it's horrible crap?
That is just giving the poor followers in Congress who want your approval whiplash.

Most of them aren't leaders with spines, you knew that.
But you still give them a moving target that is impossible to hit and complain when they can't manage to do so. Why?
