Effin Congress, way back when, delegated their regulatory duties to the executive branch. Congress establishes a new bureaucracy and then hands a blank check to the president to write the regulations because congress is too lazy to do their job, and because of the struggle for power, congress can't write new regulations. The opposition party tied up the 'process' and nothing could get done, which was the whole point. It was supposed to be difficult to write new law. So congress delegated it to the executive branch.
And now everyone wants to complain about the new regulations Obama has written? Effin bastids.
Burn Washington to the ground. Rewrite the Constitution in plain and simple language so simple that even a 6th grade student can understand it, and start hanging politicians who violate that simple language.

I would radically change how the federal courts are appointed and their location. Washington DC would have no say on it what-so-ever. It would all be done at the State level.
I would also make paying taxes a condition to vote.

I think I got my FID in around a month. It was always pistol permits that took 90+ days.
And, if I remember right, those are supposed to be finalized within 60 days, but there's no mechanism for enforcing that so the chiefs just sit on them hoping you'll lose interest.

Attack was resumed at 0530. 1AD making the main push with the 3d Div. 45 Div holding on the left and SSF on the right waiting to move as soon as the situation warrants. 1AD pushed well up over the railroad NW of Cisterna and 3d Div cut below the town to isolate it. 3d Div occupied the town about 2000. Other front is moving nicely with Terracina taken and advance elements within 18 miles of the beachhead. The next day or two should join us.

I take my lessons from the Old Testament where a vengeful and wrathful God brought down fire and brimstone on those who would not listen.
Ok, maybe it was random chance in the form of a meteor strike, or a volcano exploding and burying the city. I don't know. Maybe it was just a metaphor.
Maybe it is all just luck, and for too many years we have been lucky, living on the good decisions made by our grandparents.
But the road we are on now, leads to disaster, and I'm not sure that anything will change over the next eight years either.

One other thing to think about regarding an Art V convention. There have been several times in the past where it looked like we were well on the way to having a call for one. And each time that occurred it scared the living shit out of politicians in Washington and congress was moved to take action and "fix" the most egregious laws that were angering the population.

Just a brief, albeit dated observation: I had a love/hate relationship with SE Asia and SE Asia had a love/hate relationship with me. I let my ex keep the house and the money. As a result, when No. 1 Son graduated college this weekend she and her sister and my Mom and cousin and the boys and I were all able to celebrate together because we get along.

Here is a story being ignored by the media that should probably get more play, and it concerns Mrs. Wrecks. She is a speech language pathologist at a number of elementary schools. Yesterday one of her schools got a bomb threat. This was different from your usual didn't-do-homework for several reasons. It was technologically sophisticated. An artificial electronic voice made the phone threat and it was made to appear to be coming from inside the building. It wasn't coming from inside the building because coordinated calls were made across the country and even in England. The language was especially vicious speaking of children's body parts being blown all over the neighborhood etc.

That was about two weeks ago. At the McD's my kids and I go to most. Seems weird that the guy tried to hold up a car in a crowded area in broad daylight but apparently there was some sort of festival in the park near by that had brought in a lot of strangers.

It's also dependent on the weather. A couple of years of droughts can kill your business.
My dad was raised on a farm. He was not sentimental about it at all. He said once you've worked on a farm, nothing else seems like work.

I once did a bit of work for some folks who ran automobile fan websites - the big news was that many commenters turned out to be hardcore supporters of electric cars, wind power, full gov. ownership of automakers, communal car ownership, etc - all with the understanding that they would be the ones able to play with their cars once the roads were clear.
