Its yet another story of politically-correct lunacy involving a university losing its collective cookies over chalk writings, but this time the hateful speech isnt Donald Trumps name.
Its the question: Why do terrorists hate America? That message, repeated in chalk advertisements and flyers, is the reason Wingate University in North Carolina cited when revoking the funding for a lecture by Nonie Darwish, a former Muslim of Egyptian descent. From this week in 1944- Anzio
The EZ Dog Journal Apr 20- Gerry started getting nasty again. He's been bouncing those big ones into town again. Not much damage. Spring is here for sure. Bright and sunny. Apr 21- Still more big ones. He seems to have changed tactics from concentration on troops to heavy harassing. 34 Div made a little gain of about half a mile tonight. 3 Div had a field day with artillery on about 150 Krauts. 10 are said to have gotten away. Apr 22- Rather cloudy today. Gerry must have been mad about the 34th drive. He cut loose with everything at 2100 with a repeat performance at 2200. All our firing seemed to do very little good. Lots of heavy stuff dropped into town. Big ones => Heavy stuff => 280 mm German railroad cannon known as Anzio Annie. Posted by: Seamus Muldoon at April 22, 2016 08:15 AM (NeFrd) 38
Pouring rain here in Winston, which I think means that my job will be cancelled for today. Seems to happen every season, we get one game that is a "problem child", this one in particular is a Girls Soccer game that has been postponed twice in two weeks, today will be the third. Meanwhile, we've done dozens of other games, with only one rain-out between all of them. The Women's D1 Lacrosse Championship is coming to town in a couple weeks, I'm sort of afraid to check news about the event, lest I find out that the NCAA is considering a boycott.

Remember when the advice was to go to school, stay off the streets, it's not safe? -- Signs are all around us that civil society is crumbling and falling apart. There is moral rot and decay that pervades just about every aspect of life in America today. No boundaries, no respect, no responsibility, no morals, and no integrity are being engrained in every young person's skull. We're breaking down. Legally you can take your number anywhere. What you're asking is if you can transfer the SIM card. You should ask Verizon. You might get a good deal switching to another provider, like T-Mobile or Sprint. If you don't mind switching to android there are cheap phones on the internet (I got my kid a BLU phone on amazon when her phone died) Or you could try going to one of those "fix it" places at the mall to see if a new battery fixes it. When my Samsung Galaxy S3 died last spring (sob, may it rest in peace, I loved that thing) it turned out that by switching to Verizon Edge I actually saved money on our bill every month even with the new phone added in. It's done differently than the old contract thing - you don't buy the phone upfront and sign a two-year contract. The payments for the phone are built in for the first 18 months and then your bill drops after the phone is paid off. No contract. Geez, I'm explaining this horribly but do look into it. I actually went into the Verizon store and a nice sales guy made me a chart with paper and pencil and showed me how it worked. Posted by: bluebell at April 22, 2016 08:53 AM (2WwbN) 154

The Left has been trying to destroy the Bot Scouts for decades.
They've been doing a competent job of it. My Pack has been recruiting for next year, and at an advertised event in a rather large school we had three families express interest. Three. Conservatives don't like the direction Scouts is going and won't join up, and Liberals were never going to join up in the first place. I don't know if this has been mentioned: that Brazil Bike Walk collapse was a disaster waiting to happen. I watched a Vine of it right after it happened:
The area that fell was right in the sites of a massive wave blast. There are smooth, tapering basalt rocks that direct the wave underneath the under-engineered structure. They are trying to span 50+ meters with a run that is directly in the path of a powerful wave. The crowd got doused at the end of the video. #moarstructuralengineering Posted by: Brave Sir Robin at April 22, 2016 09:06 AM (SeD0w) 195

Obamacare is a disaster, yet nobody is really talking about it. Sure, a few, "remove and replace," homilies, but really nothing to suggest that anyone's any more serious about doing away with obamacare than before.
Government has gotten so big that it is impossible to manage and because it is so big AND impossible to manage, the only thing that congress can do by way of managing this monstrosity is to throw money at things. The bigger the problem, the more money will be thrown at it. There is no consideration of actual solutions to anything at the upper levels of government because there can't be. Too many problems, too much broken and only one solution: more money. For decades, the pentagon has been a microcosm of the problem and all that has happened is that the problem has gotten magnitudes. A budget bigger than the next seven nations combined, and the Defense Dept can't make an airplane that works. Yet when virtually anyone looks at the number and scope of the problems facing this country, along with all of the fictional problems that politicians invent to keep the people from looking at all of the truly serious problems facing the country, and what is invariably the proposed way to fix the problems? More government. More money. This is not going to get fixed. When money is the only answer to everything then answering problems becomes too easy to fix. If you had a job where all you had to do every day was to hand out money on the knowledge that some of the money that you handed out was going to come back to you in the form of graft, why would you want to fix it? He attended the services of his choice, within the
spectrum of Christianity. Too many are eager to say You Aren't Christian and you know? Fuck it, why be Christian if that's the attitude. Maybe that's the world you want. Posted by: Bigby's Empty Hands at April 22, 2016 09:19 AM (3ZtZW) I think virtue signalling is very odd. Both sides saying "you aren't Christian" are signalling that they are virtuous: one side claiming their group is the only one and all others are sinners should DIAF to prepare for what awaits them, and the other saying you all fall short of your ideals and none of you are Christians and all you delusional homophobic sky-fairy idiots should all DIAF. There has to be a solution found to counter this. And the bodies keep piling up at the LA coroner's office. How horrible. If someone dies at home and is not under a doctor's care, an autopsy is mandatory. So, you want to bury your love one but have to wait months to get the body? Unacceptable. I suspect you can pay for a private autopsy to get around it which is great if you have the bucks.

But in Prince's case, and so many others, it their cadre of hangers on that in the end killed him. Perfect form on her handwringing and despair for the country, tasteful liberal cultural allusions, consultation with cocktail circuit "conservative" women on her journolist, a quick survey of her Jeb-supporting friends and a focus on the aesthetics of the campaign. Posted by: Lizzy at April 22, 2016 10:13 AM (NOIQH) There's so much good and necessary environmental work, real work, like clearing trails and actually clearing up trash and litter and being a real steward of where you live, that is tied up with activist virtue-signalling bullshit. Where I grew up in central MA is home to one of the greatest environmental success stories in the history of the country, the cleanup of the Nashua river. http://bit.ly/1qGktLA That picture is not retouched. The paper plants used to dump dyes right in, and raw sewage went in too, up through the 60s. A local woman made it her life's work to clean it up and she made it happen - by getting local legislators to pass state laws about sewage and industrial water treatment and shaming the factory owners, who eventually voluntarily went above and beyond the legal requirements to improve their hometowns. And the watershed, given a chance, healed itself. If our little lefty busybodies would turn their energies to real projects instead of ideological lynchings they could accomplish so much. Posted by: chique d'afrique at April 22, 2016 10:11 AM (ZKlDy) If that's what it takes, then so be it. He lost your vote but picked up millions of others. When a billionaire is running for president and is asked if he should or would pay more in taxes, he has two options... First, say no, then spend the next 7 months explaining and parsing every twisted way the media can exploit this. Or, say "sure". Ends the discussion without any chance in hell that a republican held House and Senate are going to do anything to actually raise taxes. One way alienates millions while the other, populist way gains the votes of the low information people - which, if you don't know by now, is what elections are all about. I remain unconvinced that a GOPe victory will be distinguishable from that scenario in any worthwhile manner. No real victories are possible until the sham Republican party is either purged or razed, and that's not going to happen without pain--and conceivably a lot of blood. The GOP is not our ally. It never really was. It soaked up resources and energy and prevented the real work from being done. It has to go or be fully reformed. No sane person wants Hillary in the White House, but with the deck so thoroughly stacked I'm not convinced that can be prevented now. So we must do what we can so we can do what we must. And that means housecleaning. Posted by: Brother Cavil at April 22, 2016 10:24 AM (9krrF) 416

I listened to Cruz on Hannity the other day and I am (was) a big supporter (gave money too). Cruz was a complete asshole.. Played the politician that would not answer a simple question on how and why he is gathering delegates. He should have manned up and taken it to Trump and said he is working the system and winning. This is what you need to be President. How else do you win on a National stage? Being nice? Instead he was a complete mess and when Hannity called him on it he was dismissive.
I know we all hate Trump around here but, if people like Giuliani and others can stand him when knowing him for years in New York... then perhaps there is something we are missing... I don't know. All I know is Cruz turned a donating supporter into someone at least more than willing to look at Trump again.. Perhaps this is why the many of the national media figures are for Trump? Hannity, Rush, Cain.. Because they know Cruz is an asshole? Posted by: catman at April 22, 2016 10:26 AM (EcmAX) 424

I keep asking (through the din of meat jokes) why you're so sure that your understanding* of Trump's typically chaotic speech is correct? Why are you so sure of yours? And so quick to discredit other interpretations? Posted by: chique d'afrique at April 22, 2016 10:25 AM (ZKlDy) It's a choice made by every candidate for every office in the land in every election cycle. You can either be the person who stands on inflexible principles and dogma, who tries to convince the 98% of people who don't agree with how wrong they are, or you can be the guy who gets elected. I listened to the interview. Dumb Hannity should have explained the way the process works to his audience instead of badgering Cruz with Trump talking points. I don't blame Cruz for getting testy after constantly being accused of lyin', cheating, and bribery by a sore loser campaign.
In the same situation, I would also probably have rolled my eyes and ignored him. Maybe not politicianly correct, but I don't blame him. Posted by: chique d'afrique at April 22, 2016 10:35 AM (ZKlDy) 451
