um, actually, Johnny, what you claimed in the last thread was that The Great Leader Trump had gotten miffed that the pro-life people "didn't have his back" and so then spurned them, because that's what a Great Leader does. So he showed those weak sisters in the pro-life movement that if they didn't have his back, he wouldn't have theirs.

Now you seem to be changing your tune.

Back in the day, I was sent TDY to the Rock Island armory to review a failed software project. This was in, oh, February of 1992 or 1993, I guess. I was stationed in Montgomery, AL, was on a TDY to Carnegie Mellon University, and went from that TDY to a TDY in Rock Island. There was a time in my life when life was complicated. I was young, however, and could handle it.

Still, color me a Southerner with no idea how to handle the cold.

While at Rock Island, my lips got so cracked and chapped, there was no saving them.

The day I got back from the Rock Island TDY to the Carnegie Mellon TDY, the wife decided she wanted to go out for a curry. A vinda-fucking-loo curry. (I spent a year at CMU, in two 180 day TDY increments, so the wife was able to come along.)

Anyway, by the end of the night, I was emitting enough IR to constitute a target. I have experienced more pain in my life, but that involved stepping in a booby trap.

Throughout his campaign he's flopped precisely once on an abortion related issue, and it was after the fake pro-lifers who run pro-life organizations browbeated him for stating the obvious, which is that if you murder your baby you pay some legal consequence. Mind you I'm not happy he flopped to please them but considering the subject matter I'll give him a pass since this is the kind of fight that requires you to play 7D chess and a candidate running on pure instinct like him doesn't have a chance at winning it.

This incident may have been bad for Trump but it was far worse for the pro-life movement, which is apparently run by complete imbeciles. I spent a good part of my youth crafting tight arguments pro-lifers can use to navigate sensitive abortion related issues, only to have these idiots blow up all that work by delcaring a stupid, indefensible position to be the "real" position of pro lifers.

Posted by: Joe Hallenbeck at April 01, 2016 09:32 PM (MNgU2)"

No, I stopped crafting them because I've exhausted the issue. As far as I'm concerned, it's settled science. There's nothing more I can come up with on the subject and unless someone on the pro choice side comes up with something novel (feminists are probably the dumbest sort of leftist so not likely) then I don't really have anything new to add.

And yes, I know why they take that position: it's because they're afraid of the left calling them names (sexist and mysoginist in this case), so they try to become as inoffensive as possible. This is the operational mentality of many, if not most conservatives. In this case it's painfully obvious it doesn't actually work (compare the success of militant blacks and gays with the success of passive, non-violent pro lifers at getting their way with public policy).

But if it comes down to Trump vs. Scankles, only a Commie/Liberal/Feminazi will for for Scankles.

I've seen him up close and personal and he did a good job as a good conservative. Then he got bit by the Washington plague. I don't know what happens to people when they go there. I really mean that - I do not know what happens to them. They are not the same. Maybe it's demonic.

Because we couldn't face reality and support the
only candidate who could realistically reach 1237 delegates, we face an
irrevocable liberal majority leading to what is now happening in
Europe.

Boo hoo? Yeah. As a patriot, I'm crying in my Wheaties about what is coming our way.

And I repeat, I do not want a progressive Democrat as the Republican candidate... even if he could win (which he can't).

Cruz has been the most reliable and principled conservative politician in high office in a generation when judged by how well his rhetoric matches his actions and votes after being elected.
Posted by: average biped at April 01, 2016 10:40 PM (6tGoF)

And he's accomplished what, exactly?

I really have come to believe that Cruz supporters are cultists as much as if not more so than Trump supporters.

Many Trump supporters including myself are not the slightest bit enthusiastic about him and just think he's the least worst alternative. On the other hand, many Cruz supporters seem to think he's the best thing since sliced bread.

Personally, I've seen far more vitriol and name-calling from Cruz supporters towards "Trumpsters", "Trumpbots", "Trumpettes", and so on, rather than the other way around.

408 As I read more and more of trump's supporters carrying his water and making statements like: it's all part of the game, he wants you, the media, to think this way - attributing genius-like IQ to the dolt -- it reminds me of the character Chauncy Grifitth (think that was the character's name) from the movie "Being There".

Posted by: Sassy at April 01, 2016 10:59 PM (q7eWh)

409 Ah, as the man used to say, "let not your heart be troubled". Time to stop worrying and start getting ready for the General. See, thanks to rule 40 - which they'll try and fail to change - only two names are going on that ballot. Since Trump won't reach 1237 and apparently didn't know about how the delegate system works, he goes down after the second, maybe maximum third round. Cruz will be the nominee, and I for one can't wait to see him debating Sanders. I'd love to hear the democrats get scaled on running Father Time's older Leninist uncle versus a young, vibrant, educated, well-spoken, thoughtful Constitutionalist like Cruz.

The real question at this point is who's gonna be the running mate. Any ideas?

My experience differs significantly from yours, then. Significantly.

As for a Cruz accomplishment, how about keeping the US a sovereign nation by convincing the Supreme Court to allow the lawful execution of murderer despite the orders of The International Court of Justice in The Hague to stay execution? Good enough?

This is a perfect example of my earlier comment about Cruz supporters being cultists.

I know which way I'd bet in that matchup, and it ain't Cruz. The smart and wonky Paul Ryan was decisively beaten by a drooling retard in a 2012 debate, remember?

It's a piece of cake when the MSM is in your corner.

The constant flip flopping rule only applies to ideas and principles.

431 See, Trump was setup by those pesky Democrats. Only a genius like me could have seen that coming. MSNBC asking a basic abortion question, that was so unfair. Yeah, he voluntarily attended that town hall and tried to wing it without reading Conservatism for Dummies. Can't you see what the real problem is? It's you guys wanting me to tear Trump down. This is the time we should be defending a crude, unprepared, fake conservative candidate. I'm trying to minimize the damage here. Remember, my number one goal is defeating Hillary and we only have one shot, so we should all help my drag my fatally flawed populist friend across the GOP finish line. And for the 100th time, I'm not defending Trump, I'm just giving an "explanation". Why is everybody misinterpreting me? That's it, I'm not going to talk about it anymore.

435 I enjoy the trump campaign personnel immensely.

1) Corey Lewandowski, ex chief lobbyist for new england seafoods (have you noticed just how well new england seafoods are doing , as the entire industry is slowly driven to extinction) . Corey is New Hampshire's most diminutive short term state trooper and is completely ignorant of the various states' delegate selection processes. Corey seems to enjoy playing security guard with women and smaller much younger men .
2) Hope Hicks is the campaign press secretary . She is a 25 year old model or in Donald's own words "a young beautiful piece of ass" . No known previous experience other than modelling Ivanka's clothing line .
3) Katrina Pierson overcame a stretch on welfare , which she supplemented with shoplifting , to become interested in politics . Joining the Texas tea party she volunteered for Ted Cruz and then ran for office herself. Cruz having observed her refused to endorse her and she lost, BADLY . Katrina was deeply wounded by her unrequited adoration of Cruz and sucked up to Donald Trump . Even though she is hardly a 10 Donald hired her on as campaign spokesperson. In that position she manages to convey Donald's signature confusion, ignorance and self-contradiction remarkably well .
4) Donald is now scrambling to hire people who actually know how to run a campaign but his refusal to pay more than minimum wage is hampering his efforts. He does have several interns .

436 Damned, without Trump leading the way all of the excitement is gone.

I thought we were electing a president not an entertainer.

Guess we'll just have to talk about those boring issues again. Ask candidates to put together two whole coherent paragraphs. Know what the nuclear triad is. Know that judges don't "sign bills."

All of that boring stuff.
