Let's all unite behind Trump now for an united front against the Democrats.

Too many people are clinging to hopes from a brokered convention.

Which, of course, will lose too many votes to make whatever candidate they pick viable, so Hillary will win.

In short, Trump is the last chance to beat her.

19 I got to hear Virginia's Lieutenant Governor (Ralph Northam) on the radio yesterday say that drilling off the VA coast would be bad because of the military bases there. He based that off his own experience as an Army doctor.

OT but kind of funny...the guy interviewing him asked if he was thinking of running for Virginia Governor. Northam said, uh, I announced last year that I would run. That should tell you what you need to know about any kind of enthusiasm for Ralph Northam.

32 An old white postal jeep comes to a stop, the driver swinging out of the door and clambering to the roof, shouting "I've done it! I've done it!"
A weary aide, climbs out of the left side and brushes off a coating of third class and bulk mail. "Did what? You have no chance."
"I've won Ohio!" John Kasich crows. "The son of a mailman did it!"
"You already won Ohio as governor, you didn't have to run for president to win prove you can win Ohio!"
The aide weeps as Kasich shouts "And I'll be Earl of Akron, Duke of Dayton, Count of Cleveland..."

A powerboat comes to a stop, it's nose buried in sand. The skipper runs from the wheel shouting "Lifejackets! get your life jackets on! we're sinking!"
An attractive woman says "Marco, you can't sink a boat in a desert."
The skipper ignores her, shouting "All engines reverse! Man the pumps! Abandon ship, women and children first!" before leaping off and swimming away in the sand.

The black Trans Am cruises along, the driver playing with the controls on the dashboard.
"Michael - I mean, Ted - could you stop doing that? It is really bothering me."
"Sorry Carly, as a strong Christian man I would never harm a woman."
"I'm not Carly, I'm KITT, the car."
    "The car talks? Praise Jesus!"
"I have been talking all along. You have won a state, but you need to win more to catch The Trump. You need traction and that means getting out of the desert."
"But if I don't follow Trump, how will I know where he is going?"
"His Twitter feed. Look, you drive where I say, make a hard right here."
    "Hard right it is."
"Ted. You turned around. Make a hard left."
    "Hard Left."
"Now you're heading the way you were you made a circle."
    "Circling."

The gaudy RV, loudspeakers blasting blather, continues to cruise forward. The figure seated on the throne continues to shout as his Golden Scalp Weasel snarls defiance of the Laws of GOPe to the winds.
On the front of the RV an Ewok awakens, swiftly remembering the events that led him here - keying the limo with his hobo cull, fleeing, hiding in a livestock hauler, the hardened figures that brought him kick and squealing and strapped him to the front of the RV. Now as the latest trophy he stares into the vast distance, riding as a forced passenger, fearful of the future, struggling against his bonds, and squealing and growling his fear and rage at the uncaring Republican Death-Lands.

    And the RV rolls on.

I'd like for words to mean something again. Red marks do not equal bruises. Bruises take hours to develop, not minutes.

If Trump is the face of the Republican Party, I want no part of it. Maybe it's1852 again and time for the GOP to die so another, better one can take its place, one willing to take a stand on things that matter. If Ted Cruz and other prominentconservativesgo for a third-party split between now and 2020, I'm going with them. If they don't, then I'll go independent and not look back.

81 In 2005, John Ioannidis, a professor of medicine at Stanford University, published a paper, "Why most published research findings are false," mathematically showing that a huge number of published papers must be incorrect. He also looked at a number of well-regarded medical research findings, and found that, of 34 that had been retested, 41% had been contradicted or found to be significantly exaggerated.

Since then, researchers in several scientific areas have consistently struggled to reproduce major results of prominent studies. By some estimates, at least 51% -- and as much as 89% -- of published papers are based on studies and experiments showing results that cannot be reproduced.

Researchers have recreated prominent studies from several scientific fields and come up with wildly different results. And psychology has become something of a poster child for the "reproducibility crisis" since Brian Nosek, a psychology professor at the University of Virginia, coordinated a Reproducibility Initiative project to repeat 100 psychological experiments, and could only successfully replicate 40%.

Still working through Louismet's Mystical Life.

Passing from the mystical life in the Holy Trinity he writes about the mystical life in sacred union. Points out all things being reconciled to God through Christ means angels to and was part of the original plan.

Makes a point I never heard before. The angels that fell did so because they rejected God's plan of the cross. The reason they rejected it was because of envy, but not envy of God, but envy of MAN. The angels that fell did not want to be subject to man. So Christ taking human flesh was a stumbling block to the angels that fell.

Go is more wide open but the choices are fairly binary. Chess is more restrictive of play, but there is a lot more flexibility in the choices.

    http://tinyurl.com/zckvf3a

According to its creator Oni Chen, LovePalz is a 'Wi-Fi-connected love machine that lets both the top and the bottom stimulate some sexy time.' Each partner gets one device - the 'hers' version is basically a dildo, while 'his' counterpart is a silicone tube that accommodates a penis - and the two connect via smartphone. When both partners use them simultaneously, each person's device vibrates in response to the other's sexual movements. Videoconferencing apparently adds to the experience. The pair retail for $94.95, or $10,000 for the limited-edition 24k gold version (really).

Yeah, well, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe Donald J. Trump is a genuine leader of character and conviction who grows into the office and becomes one of the greatest Presidents ever, and his seemingly batshit crazy ideas about trade policy don't result in a replay of the Smoot-Hawley mess that cascaded into a global depression, and his admiration of Putin and Chinese communists flowers into mutual cooperation and friendship and heralds an era of peace and prosperity for the whole global community.

    Nah.

Smoot-Hawley was the straw that broke the camel's back. There was a protectionist bill passed earlier in the decade that wreaked havoc with agricultural exports. And then after Smoot came FDR.

Any talk of tariffs is nuts. The real problems to be addressed are corporate taxes, income tax in general and the insane regulations from the EPA, BLM, ICC, FTC etc. ad nauseum,

THAT is what sends jobs offshore and prevents growth.

    Impossible to say right now.

However, one can look at the signs...

Trump draws increasingly large crowds - stadium size. Lots of enthusiasm.

Hillary has a rough time giving away tickets to her small-venue rallies.

Hillary has big support by blacks, but the majority of that support is in states that never go for democrats anyway - in the South.

Trump's support has grown in the face of multi-million dollar anti-Trump campaigns. Once he's the nominee and focusing his attacks on Hillary, the national numbers will change substantially.

Interesting to note and please check my math.
Ohio seems to have found about 800,000 morerepublican voters as compared to 2012PRIMARYtotals.
Dem totals were about 100,000 less in turnout from 2008 primary. So still pretty active even without Obama.
Usually primaries see about half of the turn out that the real elections have in Ohio. The dems were right about were they should be then.
The republican turn out was like two million plus. IN 2012 it was 1.2 mil. In the real election in 2012 Romney's total was 2.5m ish total. The primary in Ohio was a whopping turn out for Republicans.
Does it reflect new voters? Doesn't seem to be Democratic cross overs since their historic primary totals are about same.
This bears looking at closely, by people who know this stuff.

I am sorry you feel that way. I voted for Cruz and I think that he would make a better President than Donald Trump and certainly better than Hillary Clinton.

The thing is that unless Cruz wins a whole lot more delegates than he has until this point, he is not going to win the 1237 delegates he needs to be elected. With Rubio out of the race, I assume that Cruz will do better but I do not think that he will do enough better to get the delegates he needs. And don't forget, there is Kasich with a pot full of George Soros money to keep splitting the vote.

Well damn, when you put it like that it makes perfect sense.

Posted by: IP at March 16, 2016 08:47 AM (aQQbl)

294 Let me draw out the GOP scenario as I see it.

The GOPe had a nice little racket going. A captive market, that sweet CoC cash, perks and cushy jobs, the works. They didn't have to actually produce anything for the voters--what were they going to do, vote Democrat?

Ah, but that's the thing about abandoning a stance; when you abandon goods, they're free to be picked up by anyone and those goods become theirs. Enter the interloper Trump, seeing an opportunity and abandoned voters. Looks like there's a few here to make a run of it and raise the profile...wait, there's more then you thought...oh crap, that's a third or more of the party.

Suddenly it's panic mode. The GOPe sees its racket slipping away to a more able racketeer. Worse, the conservatives who have been playing Sisyphus in a protracted attempt to gain more influence within the GOP (to vanishingly little effect) see their own efforts in jeopardy...except for a portion of their ranks who, out of sheer frustration, decide to try to use Trump as a weapon against the intractable GOPe, never mind that among the understandably frustrated masses who have started swarming to Trump there are some...unsavory sorts.

Now we get the fun stuff. Inevitably the purity of the interloper gets questioned. Inevitably the result is frequently laughing jags, as the interloper's "purity" is probably on par with much of the GOPe. Then come the accusations of bad faith and the personal attacks. Well, this was all one thing when it was just business, but once it becomes personal all bets are off. And so the trenches get dug and the casualties begin to mount. First the usual weaker candidates. Then some folks who looked good but faltered in the face of the rising tide of issues. The usual gang of also-rans drop away earlier...and then the big names start going.

Suddenly the alarm and panic turn to sheer terror. This interloper, he may actually claim the prize for himself! And so it stops being about the prize on its own merits, and simply about denying the interloper the prize.

And that, dear Horde, is about where it stands. Completely lost is any concept of opportunities, or of principles (if you think the GOPe is fighting on proper principles you're quite mad). The whole thing is now about Trump.

So...anything I've missed in there? Or does that about sum it all up?

He alone held an image of me as something beautiful and then, when it would have been easy enough to stay out of danger, he used his own body as a guinea pig to give me a calmer brain and a somewhat more sophisticated way of expressing myself.

To be clear, I will vote for Trump but for entirely different reasons than I voted for Cruz. At this point in the game though, I'm converted to the MP4 philosophy, that it's acceptable, desired even, to have a President who will punish your enemies. Trump isn't a conservative, but he is vindictive enough that I think he will gleefully piss on Democrats with abandon.

Moreover, I never doubted that Trump loves America. I don't think he's ashamed of America, I think in his heart of hearts he thinks we're a good country and a force for right. I don't see him apologizing for us, and I don't see him accepting the Liberal premise that America is the source of fault in the world. So that alone makes me OK with voting for the guy.

IF Trump is heading towards being the nominee, his.campaign staffers are really pleasant and curious people to talk to. As has been said, he is a.businessman who recognizes that input is beneficial.

If you have concerns or wishes you'd like to discuss, call his campaign. You'll at least get a listen to and they will explore.your concerns.

383 Will Trump go down in history as one of our greatest Presidents?

Everything points to this as true.

Not because Trump is anything special, but because the people and the press don't have any appreciation of just how ridiculously bloated and wasteful our government is.

All it takes is someone who wants, in order to stroke their own ego by being proclaimed a genius, to change the status quo. If this person has an ego large enough to ignore the traditional ways and to break and bend the rules to the extent he can, it would be easy to save hundreds of billions, streamline agencies, give the impression that the remaining federal workers are actually performing some needed function and get all the credit for it.

You see this all the time in private industry, but not on the same scale. Any idiot can point to a hundred items that can be downscaled, it just takes someone to make the effort.

The infrastructure of the GOPe will take a devastating hit. People who have made fortunes by being the go-to guys to get something past the administration will be out in the cold.

    Fuck yeah.

Anonymous? Unlike you, I use my real name everywhere online. My 'nic', which is my first and last name together, links to my online portfolio, which in turn has my full name, address, and telephone number, as well asa complete CV delineating my educational background, professional history and even the unit designators from my old Airborne Infantry outfit. While you're there, you can even look at my fine and commercial art, if you want.

And the allegations I've made about your beloved Fearless Leader are grounded in irrefutable fact: Trump did in fact say that he would 'date' his own daughter--if she wasn't, you know, his own daughter.

So I have to ask: do you and your equally incest-curiousfriends often talk about dating your children? Is that a normal thing to talk about in your circles? Do you also speculate about bestiality? You know, as long as it's not your own poodle.

Anyway, I'm sure your beloved Fearless Leader has noted your attempts to white knight on his behalf, and will reward you for it. Here, have a biscuit.

Now you are just cracking jokes. I thought this was a serious conversation.

A.) The chances of a constitutional conservative being nominated by a GOPe brokered convention are just slightly lower than my chances of finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

B.) If Donald Trump (or, since it is still mathematically possible, Ted Cruz) does not get 1237 delegates, he is going to get awfully close. Not just his supporters but anybody who cares about an open and transparent political system is likely to feel that anybody other than the person with the most votes is an illegitimate candidate foisted on us by insider shenanigans.

Even if the candidate emerging from the Convention is a constitutional conservative of impeccable credentials, sterling character and phenomenal political abilities, he (or she) will have to spend most of the time from the convention to the election trying to woo back the Republicans who have left in disgust rather than going after independents and persuadable Democrats.

Tell that to Cruz. Sorry to inform you, but from here on out Trump won't have the luxury of a split field and Rubio running fullback for him. The states in the east that Trump should easily win will have Kasich siphoning votes from make difficult to blow Cruz out and Cruz is going to win the remaining states in the west. My prediction is Trump limps into the convention in June 200-150 delegates short and the GOPe slaps that weave off the top of Trump's head. Say hello to president Ryan.

Seriously, Trump's only half way there. The race is going to slow down a bit but Trump's mouth won't. 430 What news organization could Trump (or Cruz) trust in a debate against Hillary?

All media outlets who have hosted a GOP debate so far, especially Fox, have shown that they think it is a good thing for the moderator to get involved, including: on the spot "fact-checking," arguing with a candidate, and purposely crafting gotcha questions intended to harm one particular candidate.

It was great when some of the GOP candidates refused to take the bait to bash each other, but Hillary (or whomever swoops in to take the nomination at the convention) will always take the bait, likely with prepared remarks (because she will know about it in advance). The whole thing is a set up.

432 Even if the candidate emerging from the Convention is a constitutional conservative of impeccable credentials, sterling character and phenomenal political abilities, he (or she) will have to spend most of the time from the convention to the election trying to woo back the Republicans who have left in disgust rather than going after independents and persuadable Democrats.
    Posted by: Obnoxious A-Hole

Add to that the fact that we KNOW that they want to engage in shenanigans.

    And that they hate us.

    And Cruz.

And they hate us double for flushing their picks like a turd.

And their record of screwing over primary winners (Sen Cokebear, COD)

This will be fraught with peril.

433 If Trump starts his first debate like this, as he should...

"Thank you for hosting this debate, though I'm not sure why *she's* here. She should be bargaining with Captain Hadley for cold beers after tarring the cellblock roof..."

...the pealing laughter will shake the timbers of Zod's great hall.

434 They only fold like that when they have no skin in the game and keep intact their power, perks, graft, and immunity from prosecution! Trump challenges the very fabric of the Establishment con game, so I fully expect them to rise from their torpor and fight Trump like they never fought the Clintons or Obama!

It's a one man race with two hanger-ons. Cruz lost all momentum last night and Kasich gained all he'll ever get.

Wifi-enabled sex toys seem a ripe field for comedy. Group sex sessions without threat of passing disease? And hackable sex toys are something masochists actually want? "Hack me! Please!"

The "Marijuana Use Disorder" article - what have those people been smoking? Was this funded by the alcohol purveyors, still fighting the losing battle for weed legalization? I'll care about the "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders" when they return homosexuality and transgenderism to the list.

    >>>>Cruz is not happening. Pick your second choice.

Tell that to Cruz. Sorry to inform you, but from here on out Trump
won't have the luxury of a split field and Rubio running fullback for
him. The states in the east that Trump should easily win will have
Kasich siphoning votes from make difficult to blow Cruz out and Cruz is
going to win the remaining states in the west. My prediction is Trump
limps into the convention in June 200-150 delegates short and the GOPe
slaps that weave off the top of Trump's head. Say hello to president
    Ryan.

Seriously, Trump's only half way there. The race is going to slow
down a bit but Trump's mouth won't. I expect a couple of frenzied news
cycles about whatever weird thing Trump, Trump's staff and the bat shit
crazy portion of Trump's base does. It'll be interesting to see how
Trump starts to transition to the General Election.

As I said with Trump I will say with Cruz, NO.

450 I voted for Cruz, will support him until the last dog dies. If it dies prior to the Convention, I'll be pulling for Cruz until the last delegate declares his vote. I'm not thinking any beyond that point. The thought of both Parties having Leftwing fat cats at the top of the ballot in November is too grim to contemplate.
