Marquette Community College Fires Professor for Commenting On Another Professor's Political Correctness

Well, it's a 4 year community college, but it's a community college all the same.

I'm done. Very tired.

You all have fun.

20 FInally reading the post.

But this happened long ago, didn't it? I remember readng about the secretly recorded classroom discussion, the shutting down, the blog post, etc., weeks or months ago already.

I guess the new-news is that the professor has now been FIRED and his lifetime permanent tenure REVOKED for commenting in a blog post ENTIRELY FACTUALLY that a teacher's aide behaved like a liberal fascist.

At a Catholic university.

And thus civilization swirled the drain and was gone.

22 You think the "shut up! he explained" syndrome is bad when discussing the homosexuals?

Just wait till some intrepid student wants to challenge some Teaching Assistant when it comes to the topic of Insane Mohammedan Terrorists.

I suspect the student in question will be fatwah'd and then stoned or crucified or burned in a cage, forthwith.

"Political Correctness" has nothing on the muzzies insistence on complete and total conformity to their evil creed. PC is just a warm-up to the headline....um.....head lopped off, main act.

We're still big on the imaginary right to freedom from want, though.

76 "We need more secret recordings in classrooms."

I don't know how this works, actually. In some places, recording someone secretly is against the law. You could record and then anonymously publish, but if you came forward, you could get into legal trouble.

On the other hand, this isn't someone speaking on his private phone or in his home. If you are in a classroom, you have to assume you are being recorded all the time.

A private university, though, could institute a rule that says, "You will be expelled if you secretly record in the classroom." At that point, you'd have to go back to anonymously publishing, I guess.

If I were a prof, I'd record my own classroom, so that no student could edit the recording the way NBC edited the Zimmerman call.

Luckily I had a 3.8 and all my professors loved me or I would have been a news story like this. Even after it was over half the faculty I hadn't taken classes with treated me like a leper.

102 From the thread below, I miss my ATL doctor.

When I'd get a sinus infection, which was every damned spring in ATL, I'd walk in his office, he'd take one look at me, give me a shot of Decadron (sp???) in the butt, a prescription for an antibiotic, and one for Percacet.

"By focusing on popular culture representations and government legislation since 9/11, it will become clearer how the growing popularity of sustainable food is laden with anthroheterocentric assumptions of the "good life" coupled with idealized images and ideas of the American farm, and gender, radicalized and normative standards of health, family, and nation."

Shorter version: Organic farming is stuff straight white people like. Just like Trader Joe's/New Seasons. (Though gays are allowed if they toe the line).

What a load of words for something as simple as "minorities don't buy organic shit."

An underappreciated fact - Marquette recently hired its first non-Jesuit president...from the other 4-year community college in Milwaukee, UW-Milwaukee.

I wonder how long American parents will be fleeced before they rebel against these institutions.

Is the degee still worth the money if it comes from a respected University?

************

IMHO, "respected universities" are only worth it if your child is a natural schmoozer.

If they want to and have the ability to get ahead through connections and networks, it might - might - be worth it.

If they want to get ahead through hard work and grades, there's nothing wrong with a state school.

I asked her, "is that by coincidence or design?" "What do you think?" her reply.

204 And Percocet. *sigh* I remember the days....

Now, I go to my doc with a torn meniscus, and he's all, "We'll probably have to operate on that knee. Just go home, take a Tylenol, and put some ice on it. I don't believe in pain meds.

Courage."

205 I have been too busy earning obscene amounts of money to read much here recently. But it seems the proprietor has gone all no more Mr. Nice Guy on the Mulatto Messiah.

206 Must I pause my enjoyment of chef's latest creation (ohhhhh, le gout de la fraise) in this blog in which the accents grave and otherwise and the circumflex she do not work?

A sigh escapes. It appear I must, that you of the Etats-Unis be enlightened. Let us bring this into the - how you say - jardin public.

First, l'affaire Marquette. Pay it of no mind, it is rien - nothing. An ancestor - this is how you say? - of mine dabbled as a courier du bois and oared for both him and Joliet, and he said they respected not the cheese, nor the vin, and tipped in a manner most unacceptable of a priest and a gentleman. So, give not this the powerr of the hashtag, for it is of no account this university which is named for an abbe who appreciates not the gratuity nor the Rochefort, let alone would help a frere out with the rowing every now and then.

So!

And the gendering-trans of the agriculteurs, is it not of your culture? I have seen at one time the Green Acres, in which one of the Magyar triplets stars with the Edward Arnold, who is as popular in la belle France as the Gerald Lewis, of he the antic japerie superieur. And this I have seen (heard, actually, but on the screen of mon ordinateur avec the Veoh, with much thanks and gratitude to the heehawfansoixante-neuf who has it uploaded), that the musical interlude in the opening is a discourse heteronormative and redolent of Americaine hyperpuissance.

Consider the lines premiere: Green Acres is the place to be/Farm-living is the life for me/Land spreading out so far and wide/Keep Manhattan, just give me that countryside.

Is it not apparent? The land....spreading out so far and wide? Oh, hee, hee, hee, (pardon, but Jean Jacques he laughts until he choke on the strawberry and the chef he must apply le maneuver Heimlich.) This sexualization of the imagery of the campagnie is juvenile in its overt display, and so it continues throughout the song, with sa femme plaints for a city life remaining unheeded, although she cites the many advantages of the life metropolitaine and the Edward Arnold these he ignores until, at the very end, he takes her in the grip masculine with the imperative "You are my wife!" The Magyar has not a choice but to wistfully utter "Goodbye city life," before she is placed in frame in the style du Gothique Americaine.

Quelle long paragraph, n'est pas? The too-long-the-did-not read thing that I have heard the jeunes say is that the gendering-trans of the farm du Americaine is implicit and therefore implicated in the very popular culture of your nation, as indicated by the culture-pop of your ancien-regime, even dans les soixante ans.

So, you are instructed and rebuffed, and now we will return to the repas.

207 Marquette is a Catholic university. Not a community college. And McAdams has not been fired, though Marquette's conduct in this respect has been shameful for any university claiming to respect free speech and academic freedom.

But other than getting most every fact wrong in the title and the first paragraph, which are the only substantive parts of this brief post, you did a good job, Ace.

208 M. Demosthenes, with this I have already dealt. Be done with this, it is most unseemly to stomp my comment above - such a gentleman does not do.

209 Besides which I remind you that there is much for you Greeks to have been doing in regard to the Euro. Not is it one of your lamb sandwiches in la pain du pita, although yours seem to think so.

Because it is the alike-sounding, no?

210 re: 207

From the Dean's letter to McAdams, January 30, 2015
"Pursuant to Sections 307.03 and 306.03 of the Faculty Statues, I wish to advise you that Marquette University is commencing the process to revoke your tenure and to dismiss you from the faculty."

That sounds like getting fired, though the process is just getting going, I suppose.

212 M. Ooh la la, vous etes clearly a person possessed of the superb powers of observation to recognize this, and merci a vous that you observe the bonheur that I am so honored to bring to this "blog" Americaine in a fashion so notable.

213 @ 210: I don't dispute that the process to fire McAdams has begun. That does not mean Marquette has fired him -- yet. That means there is still hope for the people at the university (not the community college) to come to their senses and avoid an egregious violation of the First Amendment.

"If the Pope were really true to Catholic teachings he would zap Marquette."

Marquette is a Jesuit university. Pope Francis is a Jesuit - the first ever to become pope. Need I say more?
