Not a painting I would hang but I would spend time in a gallery looking at. Another late 20th century artist who can do nice, accurate and realistic detail with natural colors and good perspective. It has a feel of Edward Hopper influenced by Andrew Wyeth. Which is fine just not outstanding. The most appealing aspect is the woman. She is completely relaxed and comfortable while enjoying a warm, sunny day. It's peaceful. And for my tastes, I like the her figure is natural, not some Barbie doll hard body. She isn't on display, just comfortable.

A small matter of amusement. (Or maybe I'm just easily amused this morning.) As a group, women are stereotypically obsessed with clothes and fashion. But according to the paintings of the last few centuries, they want to be naked all the time. Seems inconsistent. Or maybe the painters just want to have nude females around. Could be either.

Secrets II (1968-1969)
Dimensions: Overall: 63 × 66 3/4 in. Paul Wiesenfeld, 1942-1990, an American realist painter who created comprehensive interior scenes and portraits. His son wrote, "In my memory I see my father, Paul Wiesenfeld (1942 – 1990), sitting at the edge of one room on a block of wood no more than 20 cm off the floor with a palette in one hand and several brushes in the other and studying intently the interior of another room. This room is in stark contrast to the rest of the apartment with its varying degrees of chaos and dishevelment. It is impeccable, if one overlooks the fine layer of dust, everything in it is there for a purpose, participating in a web of complex visual relationships, set up to create an image of beauty." Everything in this painting was exactly placed to tell the story. Note the Secrets magazine on the table. Reportedly, Secrets was a long-running true confession, romance, and narrative pulp magazine (such as the March 1960 and May 1960 issues) that featured first-person relationship stories and dramatic tales. Interesting, but would pass hanging it. (Cafe's beaver tale, and now this. Some will be off the chain all day. 😏 ) Posted by: L - No nic... at October 30, 2026 10:33 AM (NFX2v) 249

And it's standard behavior we see in every election. Pollsters asserting 15% of Republicans not voting for Paxton are huffing paint. The way partisans object to their party's candidate they don't want to vote for is that they don't vote. This is how the "independent" vote shifts most. Sure, but my point is that it goes both ways. And they pretty much always cancel each other out. And it's standard behavior we see in every election.
Pollsters asserting 15% of Republicans not voting for Paxton are huffing paint. The way partisans object to their party's candidate they don't want to vote for is that they don't vote. This is how the "independent" vote shifts most. There are immaterial numbers of people who actually change their party vote every other race. Posted by: TheJamesMadison ======== TJM is correctly summarizing decades of research. Partisans just don't vote when they don't like their party's candidate. Sometimes, they vote third party or writein for a race. True independents that do not have a partisan lean are roughly 5-8 percent of the voters, mebbe less nowadays due to party polarization but they are also less likely to vote in midterms. Inquirer dot com, "A Canadian leader's advice on surviving Trump and rebuilding an alliance of democracies"
A column by (lunatic) Trudy Rubin published on October 28, 2026, focusing on Chrystia Freeland, Canada's former Deputy Prime Minister and Member of Parliament, and her newly released book, 'Unreliable Boyfriend: An Insider’s View of Dealing with a Chaotic Superpower, Plutocrats, and Other Complicated People.' AI Overview: Freeland’s firsthand experience negotiating trade relations with the U.S. (specifically the USMCA). It details the shift of long-time allies into adversaries, the impact of sweeping U.S. tariffs, and the rising power of American billionaire oligarchs like Elon Musk compared to Russian oligarchs under Vladimir Putin. -- 2022 she was photographed helping to hold a red-and-black scarf printed with the patriotic slogans "Slava Ukraini" (Glory to Ukraine) and "Heroyam Slava" (Glory to the Heroes). She posted the photo on her official social media page. The red-and-black colors and specific phrasing historically belonged to far-right paramilitary groups that collaborated with Nazi Germany during World War II and were involved in massacres of Poles & Jews.
