Allow me to repeat a post from a previous thread.
Everyone, there's something about The Horde I want you to understand. The horde embodies the America you remember. Great people getting together for a friendly gathering to enjoy themselves. A fun atmosphere of camaraderie with like minded conservatives, talking, laughing, renewing old friendships and creating new ones. Lots of great food, drink and conversation in a comfortable venue with extremely gracious and enthusiastic hosts. There's beer, wine and hooch. And snacks. And food. Did I mention food? (Good Lord, they roasted an entire pig!) And music. And karaoke. And dancing. And yes, there's guns. But ONLY IF you're so inclined. It's not a gathering of bunker mentality gun nuts. But if you want a place to bring your pistol or rifle and practice and learn from experienced shooters with a strong emphasis on safety, well, that America still exists. This is the Horde. This is the Texas MoMe. This is America. Posted by: Quarter Twenty at October 18, 2026 10:16 PM (uGZRR) 50

Macron made his first public comment on the riots tonight.
“How can French people do this to France?” Some funny things happened in France: pallets of riot supplies magically appeared on street corners. And the rioters emptied a supermarket except for pork products. And in the UK, a woman was questioned by police for vacationing in Israel, because the government was concerned she'd become a right-wing terrorist. I was reading through leftwing comments on the riots in France and the left has some thoughts...
1) These aren't riots, these are peaceful native student protestors. They just want better funded schools that's all. Don't you wingnuts know french people like to protect? 2) Obviously these are violent terrorist...working for "the right". [Note the posters on leftwing sites doesn't know the name of the "right wing" party in France apparently] 3) Of course these are immigrants rioting. The right is racist to them and they have to express their anger somehow. And yes the people posting these mutually exclusive views all agreed with each other as well Posted by: 18-1 at October 18, 2026 10:23 PM (sKqQm) 71

Posted by: 18-1 at October 18, 2026 10:26 PM (sKqQm) ____________________ I'm reluctant to tell you this, but the only way is to dig out the root system manually. They have a dense root base that will resprout unless it's removed entirely. Best way is to spend a couple days pouring water about 2 feet out from the stump and in towards the stump. It makes it easier to dig and get the main root clump. I have a couple holly bushes that I just trim for a couple reasons. 1. I don't want to dig out root systems. 2. Besides the evergreens, it's one of the few pieces of vegetation that remains hardy and green in the cold winters. Bonus: Free Christmas decorations with trimmings. This isn’t the first time this has happened in France, and there’s great precedent for what must be done if they wish to save their nation; if France has any will left to save itself.
Paris Commune, 1871. Following the disgrace of the Franco-Prussian war, Paris declared itself a revolutionary commune and began a wave of executions and burnings of historical monuments; much like the riots happening now. Even the Archbishop of Paris was executed by then. After 2 months, the French Army got organized and moved in to take the city back (under a French General named MacMahon, of all things) Casualties were significant, but probably light for these kinds of things; ten to twenty thousand revolutionaries killed either fighting or executed shortly after capture. Order was restored, and France had 40 years of civil peace and quiet as a result. Posted by: Tom Servo at October 18, 2026 10:37 PM (KxsfI) 128

What is the best way to get rid of the rest of it? Posted by: 18-1 at October 18, 2026 10:26 PM Herbicides are your best friend on some occasions. Go to you favorite big box hardware store and look through the "brush killer" selections. Select a brand with a high concentration of triclopyr. Read the instructions for a "cut stump" treatment. Pour a small amount of the prepared herbicide in a wax paper cup or plastic cup and grab an old 2" paintbrush that is at its end of life. Saw off the holly trunk about 8-10 inches above ground level. Immediately thereafter, liberally paint the cut surface and top 6" of the bark with your prepared herbicide. Use up all of the herbicide, and then throw away the cup and paintbrush. Also be sure to wash your hands with soap. Do it before the first hard frost, while the sap is moving down to the roots, and the triclopyr will be efficiently moved right down into that big root ball. Sometimes you needed to dig around the root ball to get a nice separation. Nowadays, you could cut it down to ground level and spray the stump, or contact the guys with the stump grinder. (Cont) I need to vent. Bro and I were laughing inappropriately as the wacko on/off/on procedure for our sweet mother before 7am. I was arranging to pay for a hospital bed if Mama. SIL has done NOTHING but stated today that all emails/texts come through her as he's stressed. WUT?
I got into Mama's record to translate labs, MRI, etc. for my brother. We are close and no problems. Then I get this email from SIL today and did not answer, wrote emails to my brother anyway (they share an email because she's nuts). I texted him and SHE answered on HIS phone. I think he's been abducted at this point. She's about 2' shorter than me and afraid of me except these weird emails once a year. I'm polite but have never liked her. I would never hurt bro or my mother by telling her off, & now I would have to go to confession if I told her what I thought. Sons got the wacko email that I forwarded to my dude saying, no way! He said he talked to his uncle Friday afternoon and he seemed fine. We think he doesn't know SIL goes nuts, fires off an email of import, and then deletes so he can't see it. So it's been granted "Unrestricted Earth Return" license. No need to worry about sealing or quarantine. They stayed with her and bro this summer when we were all there. They adopted a strange fancy breed of dog who was losing his puppy mind. We are fairly sure she does this to dogs. He was at least 25lbs and she was trying to wear him in a carrier thing and he looked mad. He bit off part of a brick in front of a trainer guy and got shipped off to TN to train to be a proper dog. DIL found 18pages of a document in the kitchen of dog training. We are unsure where it came from but some typing was in BOLD. Like this: "At 7:30pm L will take sleeping pills and dog will go potty. Then crated." We are unsure what happened if he barked or gacked up a lizard. She's very rigid and anything throws her off. My brother is very laid back and also sarcastic and for some reason, we guess, loves her. The two dogs before this one (fancy breeds) were also nuts and barked all day at air. Twee names.
