Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The Morning Rant![]() "He's getting some advice that I don't think he should be following." She predicted he'd drop the act the moment he's safely in office, telling the undercover journalist, "I can guarantee you that once he gets elected, he'll change his tune back to where he was."What's interesting about this is that if the polls are to be believed, Talarico is leading Paxton, so his previous, longstanding and creepy lunacy about transsexualism and children and homosexuality should be a part of his seemingly winning platform. That he is shifting to a more Texas-friendly stance tells me that he isn't winning. Lying to get elected certainly isn't reserved fro Democrats. The corporate wing of the Republican Party has embraced lying for generations! Run as a conservative, then vote in Congress as a squishy accomodationist who is willing to subvert the will of the voters for financial gain. Cornyn did it for years, and the fact that Texas finally got tired of his sh*t is a signal that MAGA sensibilities are becoming more popular. What surprises me is that the Texas Democrat Party didn't dig up a moderate Democrat who could run on the archaic but successful principles that convinced America that Democrats represented the everyman. It's not true, and has never been true, but it worked for a long time, and my bet is that it would have worked in Texas against Paxton, who has shown very little skill at campaigning and communicating his platform. But the Democrat Party has been overwhelmed by the insanity of transsexualism, DEI, Critical Race Theory, overt socialism, rejection of traditional America, and a host of other sophomoric but dangerous themes. So a traditional Democrat won't get much traction. The new Democrat Party is saying the quiet part out loud, and hopefully America is listening. [Crossposted at CutJibNewsletter and X/Twitter]. Paxton knocked off a 4 term senator to win his primary. I think we sometimes forget how hard that is to do.
Cornyn had been doling out favors to his supporters in Texas for over 20 years and had huge support from the Thune controlled NRSC slush fund and Paxton took him down. The idea he has no support in Texas is nuts. Every single time we lose a primary to an establishment Republican we are told " the primary is over, get in line and support the winner ". In the next presidential election, the democrats should consider running the ticket of Talarico and El Sayed. I have to say though, I think El Sayed edges out Talarico. And, hey, he'll get the endorsement of Governor Witchmer, which is no small thing. She'll get all the liberal ladies on his side.

113 The thing about eductation is, AI tutors are going to upend the system. A child's AI is going to meet the child at the proper level in each academic field, and let the child advance at whatever pace is appropriate. The AI will know whether a child has truly mastered a topic and will present an unbiased appraisal of the child's ability to the world. The current system is already dead.

Was in an experimental system in junior high, programmed learning. Student goes through material at his/her own pace, takes a 'quiz' at the end of a lesson, a 'test' at the end of a chapter. In algebra, about 6 weeks into the term, one of the teachers who was supposed to be 'just answering questions' gathered the ones who hadn't got far enough and put them into a standard classroom. She added more as time went by and about 40% of the class was sitting in front of her by the end of the school year. The district ended the experiment the next year.
