The Morning Report — 9/ 16 /26

Good morning kids.

So, yesterday I railed about jury nullification and the abuse of our legal system and judiciary as a means of political repression and the general advancement of Democrat/Leftist ideology and the attainment of absolute political power. Left unmentioned is the most egregious and most dangerous form of nullification: that which emanates from the bench itself, and yet again the greatest example comes from the highest court in the land, the one that's supposed to set the gold standard for justice and the advancement of the rule of a just and stable law, but in recent years, not coincidentally coinciding with the appearance of Donald Trump and the MAGA movement not the scene, SCOTUS has seen some outrageous examples of just the opposite, DObbs and Bruen notwithstanding.

SCOTUS Denies Stay on Ruling Blocking Trump Mail-In Ballot Restrictions: Alito and Thomas dissented: “Some of the plaintiffs lack standing, while the remainder are pursuing a claim that this Court has recently called a ‘Hail Mary pass’ that ‘rarely succeeds.’”

Further, Alito all but declared j'accuse...

Did the Supreme Court’s liberal justices slow-walk their dissents in litigation over President Trump’s mail-in voting order to run out the clock on its implementation for the 2026 midterms? That seems to be what Justice Samuel Alito subtly suggested in the court’s most recent ruling on the subject

And so on the one hand, the Leftists want to pack the court with their political allies who will subvert the Constitution and the guiding principles of American and western jurisprudence to advance their Sharia-esque goal o absolute power and control via the advancement and forcing of their preferred insane policies on our society and people. Most recently and vociferously from Mayor Buttplug, who potentially may announce a run for the presidency in 2028.

And of course, if they can't achieve that goal then they are simply calling for SCOTUS and the Constitution itself to be utterly demolished, along with the Presidency, the Senate and the Electoral College.

Considering the surge in popularity of the Democrat Socialites, this fringe madness could be mainstreamed faster than we imagine. Certainly if SCOTUS continues to abrogate its duty to defend the Republic and the rule of law, we are going to wake up in a nightmare.

And speaking of nightmare scenarios, we have this to contend with.

The basis for Muslim political donations in the United States, is preventing non-Muslims from “coalescing amongst themselves and uniting” to defend themselves. This isn’t civic participation: it’s the tribal divide and conquer politics of the origins of Islamic colonialism and imperialism. . . Muslim PACs previously claimed that they were just people representing their communities. The Fiqh system pulls back the curtain to show a central body of Islamic scholars trying to use money to control the outcome of American elections for “benefitting the Ummah” (meaning the global Muslim community’s local or foreign interests) “either in one’s own country or locality (such as countering a clearly anti-Muslim politician with an agenda of harm) or internationally.”
Any politician taking money routed through this method would be acting as a puppet for an Islamic theocracy which would be using them to covertly exert its control over Americans.
It’s hard to think of anything more un-American than a foreign theocracy hijacking our elections.

Yeah, that's crazy talk right there, you conspiracy nutters! So let's all lose our heads (pun intended) over this, But AI! Oh no, it's Armageddon...

Maybe I shouldn't open the can of worms on this, and I fully admit to being armchair quarterback with all that's going on in Iran, but at this point, all I care about is how the midterms will pan out. And driving down the road yesterday seeing diesel at $6.16 here in little upstate SC and gas over $4, I got a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach that if gas prices don't start coming down, that's going to hurt Trump baaad come November. And by extension, the rest of us. I hope I'm wrong.

I don't think James Madison is around this early, but he's posted data showing gas prices don't actually have a measurable impact on elections (in either direction).

I'm not sure if you'd agree with it or not, but the data is out there.

There is significant cause to think this cycle will buck historical trends. Jack Straw summed it up perfectly when he said 'the only thing going in the Dems favor is history.'

If there's one thing that slightly bugs me, it was Trump's declarations about "a deal" multiple times with little to show for it. But... the fuel prices could very well have spiked for other reasons had the conflict not been going on.

The trend is more interesting to me than the actual result it has on Oregon day to day governing. That race isn't happening in a vacuum. I'm seeing indications in a lot of areas, and you're going to want to sit down for this one, the summer polls might have been a tad left leaning.

Further, while people support balancing the budget, doing so would either require massive tax increases, supported by the people who currently pay nothing in taxes, or massive cuts to social spending, supported by some of the people who do pay taxes, no majority supports any of the approaches. Confiscatory taxes come closest, mostly because people foolishly believe that government wouldn't continue spending $1.50 for every dollar that comes in.

I suspect it’s even simpler than that - Trump introduced the Abrahan Accords, intended to bring relative peace and stability to the region. He personally asked the Saudi’s to join; instead, they shit on that idea and came up with the ridiculous Mecca Accords with Turkey and Pakistan instead.

In sum, the answer is because there are no easy fixes, and everything you list takes years of hard choices, hard work, and clear thinking policy to achieve. The world energy situation is being massively transformed - few understand what a major impact that the Venezuelan agreement will have - but big moved in energy infrastructure always take 2 to 5 years to show up in public perception. No way around that.

One of the biggest reasons we’re in such a mess in so many areas is that for at least 50 years, those in power have been making decisions based on maximizing short term results while ignoring long term consequences. If you're old enough to remember, under the first two years of Reaganomics the economy didn't improve that much. Because digging out from Carter wasn't going to happen overnight. And there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

And they we had years of a booming economy because turning around the economy and dealing with shit that should have been dealt with years ago instead of trying to bribe terrorists and kicking the can down the road takes time.

The economy is definitely better under Trump. Manufacturing is returning to the US, Iran is on the ropes and it's just a matter of time. And yea, getting rid of illegal and sealing the border is kind of a big deal.

My former step-sister, the tw*t, signed her mother up with an organization called Patriot Angels. My dad served during the Vietnam era. They were a bit of a pain to work with because of all the info they required and all the leg work you needed to do on your end to get the info they wanted, but, the end result was quite impressive.

They pushed all the paperwork and did the rest so my step-mother would receive a significant benefit from my father's military service.

It's really one of the few things I'll give my shit step sis credit for........
