Ellen Page was in it, playing the typical Ellen Page character, a fragile, squeaky-voiced scoldy girl with mental problems. Then she "transitioned," and continued looking just as she did previously, but apparently insisted on having her character also transition, and then make two seasons' storylines mostly about her "transition." I signed up to watch an X-Men parody, I got two seasons of lessons about transgenderism. She could have just played her character as a woman -- because she still looks like a woman. And aren't actors supposed to play "any role"? Well this role is female, and you should be qualified to play that, because you played it previously for 30 years. But no, she had to now be "a guy." The show turned rancid about this time, generally, and it's not all about her weird insistence on playing herself. I mean -- himself. But it didn't help!

Playing what? I mean, you could do cartoon voice-work, but again, you'd insist on playing a Dude. I guess if there's an animated Fish Movie you could play a Dude Fish with a squeaky voice. Maybe there'll be a new cartoon fish movie. I think that's your sweet spot, playing cartoon Dude Fish with low T.

Seriously? Who cares about who's cast in a movie? The cast is usually the biggest selling point of a movie. Actors' names are often above the title of the film. And in historical movies, where a big selling point is to "see the world as it once was," and feel "immersed in a different age," you kind of want to see people who could have possibly existed in that age to be cast. On to Ryan Reynolds. I tried to not hold the Blake Lively thing against him. Hey, if your wife gets crazy, you have to support her, even if she's crazy and being a real See You Next Tuesday. But I am now wondering why I ever thought he was funny. Yes, he's doing Fletch-type gags and I guess he writes some of them but I'm not 14 any longer so the juvenile snark thing is wearing out its limited charm. At least he seemed somewhat intelligent. For a creampuff light comedy actor, I mean. But is he? What the hell is this revisionist woke bullshit?

Even the much-anticipated fights between Deadpool and Wolverine were inconsequential, because neither character can be killed and neither appears to even feel much pain. Eh, I don't need this idiot. Go back to rom-coms with Sandra Bullock.

Watched the first season and enjoyed it enough to watch the second season.
Watched the second season and it was slightly weirder and worse than the first.
By that time Ellen was trying on Elliot and I said “screw all this noise” and never went back.
I stopped watching The Boys on Prime after two seasons, too. That’s because, even though I enjoyed some if it, I could see the direction it was going and jumped off before the ride got worse.

Did you guys watch The Umbrella Academy? If you haven't seen it, don't bother. You wait for it get good and you keep waiting. At points, it gets okay, and then gets bad.

So, you order it. And the chef comes out with a beautiful Wagyu steak, perfectly marbled and ask for your approval.
You give it, and off the chef goes to the kitchen to prepare your dish.
An hour later he comes back with your "Wagyu Surprise" which turns out to be their imitation of Wolf Brand Chili. You know...like you buy in a can at the supermarket.
They turned that beautiful Wagyu Steak into Wolf Brand Chili...well...
I mean, yeah, you can eat it. It's edible.

I have to say, in season three when she transitioned, it leads to the most unintentionally hilarious scene in the show.
Basically, in one of the first episodes of the season, she is shown walking along the street, and she stops in front of a barber shop and stares at a poster of men's hair styles.
Cut over to everyone sitting around hanging out at a hotel bar, she walks in with a short haircut. Someone says "Vanya, you cut your hair."
And she replies "I'm Victor now. This is who I've always been."
And literally everybody stands up and claps and congratulates her on finding herself and starts making plans to throw her a party.

The movie Hard Candy, where her very young character is trying to trap a possible pedo, is truly disturbing. The production team purposely put her in a red hoodie, symbolic of Red Riding Hood going into the den of the big bad wolf, but to slay him.
As a groomed minor in Hollywood, I am sure that she had to work through more than a few demons to do that role, but also wonder if doing the role messed her up even more. You wallow in a topic that you are a victim of. I couldn't do it.

The 80s had superior music and it was crazy how much variety there was. Classic rock was still big, but techno, alternative, new wave, and yet Elvis was still getting airplay and the oldies had Sinatra. Science tells us that the greatest exposure to different styles of music peaked in the 1980s.

Son informed me that this particular faire (SWIDT?) takes place on a dusty field. That gave me horrid flashbacks to when I and about five other folks attended the Marin County RenFaire in the mid-70s. It was held in the middle of a prolonged drought and the dust that permeated the location was nearly unbearable. It did, however, convince me to never attend one of such events again these past 50 years.

I was living in Germany during that exact time. My father was telling me what REFORGER was. It was a very formative time. Maybe that was part of it and I just never put two and two together.
