Realized most of my collection was from the 2000s. Then I set out to buy movies from a bunch of different decades.

The 2000s is down to 20% total. Still the highest of any decade, but much, much lower than it used to be.

We are living in our camper while the house is being renovated. Rained all damned day. I can't think of a single thing I have to do, let alone anything I really can do, except maybe sweeping the floor and making dinner. This may go down as the laziest summer I have ever lived, and that includes when I was a kid, because I was a busy kid.

Luckily with Elon in the yard I have access to lots of books. I'm reading what DH calls my "summer crap" although I have mixed in a few real books with intellectual stuff. But just now I'm reading the "Silo" books, so yeah, just summer crap.

It ruptured, so it will drain. They will have her on antibiotics for a while, and she will recover. I know it's scary. Ruby had one on her neck for months and we really thought she was going to die. But here she is, happy and healthy.

All will be well, all will be well, and all manner of things will be well.

90s and 2000s were the height of DVD as a format, so most of what got pushed out individually was in that era. Everything got a release. If you collected during that period, you'd have to really try to not be heavily invested in the 90s and 2000s, especially since the boutique label was mostly limited to Criterion.

Different world now.

For old silents, you have a boutique label like Flicker Alley putting out wonderful collections of Melies shorts.

For 60s and 70s schlock, you've got Vinegar Syndrome.

And everything in between. You can build up a huge collection and not touch the 90s and 2000s.

I’ve built a movies vault / Plex Replacement, one of the things I built into was a search/lookup feature that allows you to look at your collection by year and you can search for actors, directors genres, it will the display the movies by your criteria.

It’s shown me where the gaps are in my collection.

For instance, I have no films that are categorized as horror films.

Horror films are not my thing but there are some essentials I should have in my collection.

I'm on Mounjaro. Ozempic is apparently like a sledge hammer, according to my doc. Mounjaro just takes away your appetite. So far, so good.

Also, increase your protein, or lose muscle and hair. You have to follow the rules or you will get sick. Could be nasty. But I'm kinda tired of tuna, if you know what I mean.

Mountain rams, big horn sheep, are a little more combative so you have to be prepared to get slammed. Just a sparring exercise but it'll wake your ass up.
