Good morning kids. While some of you might wince at this admission, I do lurk on Facebook mostly out of habit I guess but at this point it's just to see what certain very select friends and family are up to and birthdays and such. Also, going through health issues these past two years it was nice to actually reconnect with a couple of old dear friends going back to college and even grade school, that otherwise might not have happened, so I'm grateful for that.

But of course there is a downside, and that is that more than a few have revealed their abject cluelessness. One old friend who I have since downgraded to merely an old acquaintance posted his thoughts about the election of Mamdani, even in the face of arguably the most Jewish city in the world devolving into a locus of some of the worst anti-semitism seen anywhere in nearly a century, which continues and likely because of Mamdani and his defenders in the Democrat Party as a whole, and not merely the so-called Democratic-Socialists, is ramping up as this incident clearly illustrates.

Well, I assume this Yankee-Doodle-Dandy do or Die has been here long before the rise of Mamdani (his ancestors obviously came over on the Mayflower), but then again Mamdani itself was spawned in the cradle of civilization itself, Idi Amin's Uganda.

But getting back to my old acquaintance, he posted a comment during the flare up of campus Jew-hatred in the immediate wake of the 10/7 wave of terrorism in Southern Israel

And speaking of 10/7 in Israel, Oh Lord.

So, getting back to my old friend, while Mamdani and friends were having multiple orgasms of Jewish babies being roasted alive in front of their gang-raped mothers, he said that New York City has had bad mayors in the past and Mamdani will be gone soon enough and all will be forgotten - - and sadly forgiven since Mamdani has the magic "D" after his name. Having been born and lived much of my life in NYC enduring vermin like Dinkins and then basking in the glorious years of Giuliani only to be subjected to DeBolshvik leaves one to wonder just what the ever-loving fuck is wrong with seemingly intelligent people like my old friends who keep bringing this cancer on themselves while refusing to understand or accept the fact of who and what they reflexively vote for.

So, a different friend and his wife live in a very expensive upper west side condo that has got to be a target for Mamdani's tax assessors. Is it wrong of me to laugh at them. Meh, haven't spoken to them in years, so keep barfing up the same drivel about Trump and conservatives J & J and keep voting Democrat! But anyway, not to worry because Mamdani is just a blip, eh?!

Of course no one on the left is speaking out. Patriots and lovers of freedom, however, can and must do so. For in National Socialist Germany, the harassment and persecution of the Jews did not end with their being barred from certain professions; on the contrary, at that point, it was just beginning. If Mamdani is doing all this now, what will he be doing in five years, or ten? (Those who complacently think he will be voted out after one term should remember that socialism often arrives through the ballot box, but never, ever leaves that way.) And while he has started with the Jews, against whom will he turn next?

Lest you think the cancer of Mamdani is limited to New York City, Think again because he and his ilk are on the rise all over the nation, and they are not going to have to actually win legitimate elections to get or maintain power.

Too often, prominent Democrats have fueled this climate with reckless rhetoric. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) famously urged supporters to confront members of the Trump administration in public, telling crowds they should make them feel unwelcome “anywhere.” Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) stood on the steps of the Supreme Court and warned Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh that they had “released the whirlwind” and would “pay the price.” These incendiary remarks are not just relegated to the past, but are ongoing calls to action from Democrat leadership. . . Today, that hostility has become institutionalized through efforts like “Project 2029,” a sweeping progressive agenda that proposes dramatically expanding executive authority and bypassing Congress to advance its objectives. At the same time, in addition to smears of “fascism,” leading Democrats have repeatedly described conservatives as an “existential threat to democracy.” When political opponents are portrayed as enemies of the republic, it should surprise no one that unstable individuals feel justified in resorting to violence.

Of course what fists, guns, cars and molotov cocktails can't do, you have criminals in government that can make sure people, dead or alive, vote the right way.

“I’m proud that — after contending with my predecessor’s efforts to deny Virginians their fundamental rights — we have restored the rights of more than 66,000 Virginians who have served their time,” Spanberger said. “These Virginians deserve the right to use their vote, make their voices heard, and be recognized as contributing citizens to our Commonwealth and country.”
The press release comes as Virginia residents in the fall will be able to “vote in a referendum on a constitutional amendment that would allow” felons in Virginia to have their voting rights restored “upon their release from incarceration.”

Elsewhere, we have the continued fallout of Anthony Fauci, who in the last analysis will have a body count approaching that of Pol Pot and Chairman Mao.

COVID was nothing less than a modern-day Holocaust. It killed roughly seven million people worldwide. Economies crumbled, and trillions of dollars were lost. Families were kept apart on holidays. We watched our grandparents die alone on tablets. Funerals were either not allowed or limited to 10 people. Children didn't go to school, creating years of educational and emotional damage they still feel today.

And over in Spain, there's the Islamic invasion that is merely the promised reconquista of what was Christian Spain back into Al-Andalus. There's a lesson about this that we better learn, my old friends and those like them with their heads up their ass notwithstanding.

It only took hours for tens of thousands of Moroccan illegal aliens to invade the Spanish territory of Ceuta this week. Removing those who remain will take far longer — if Spain even manages to remove them, given a recent court ruling that prohibits immediately deporting migrants who arrive by sea, as many did.
But let Spain’s overrun border be a reminder to Americans when measuring President Donald Trump’s deportation efforts against the mess left by the Biden administration: A government can destroy its border and country within a matter of days, sometimes weeks. Restoring sovereignty after your country is flooded with foreigners is a much more difficult and slow undertaking — and punishing Trump in the midterms won’t make the problem better.

Read his book, The Art of the Deal. Basically you have to tailor your negotiating style to whoever you are negotiating with. E.g. with Asians, avoiding loss of faith. DHS released numbers last night that they have forcibly deported 1.4 million people in the last 12 months (not across all of Trump's second term, for that, add 100,000-200,000 extra from the first few months).

All ratios for self deportations vs. forced deportations is between 3:1 and 6:1.

So, at least 4.5 million immigrants have self-deported, maybe as many as 9 million (I'd lean towards the lower end).

But, remember, Trump didn't snap his fingers and send 10,000 ICE personnel and all our global military into LA to deport everyone in 3 days, so nothing has happened. Besides, I saw a Bangladeshi man at my Costco this weekend, so obviously not one person has been deported.

Again, I think a lot of people are judging what is happening based on how they want to handle the situation not how Trump wants to do it. His first foreign trip of his 2nd term was to the ME. He's trying to change old relationships and unite the region around economic activity. Once the UAE pipeline is completed (started in April, due to finish early next year), Iran loses all pretend leverage over the Strait of Hormuz. They don't even have that leverage now.

All while their people have started starving, they can't pay soldiers with anything but rials which are inflating 25% per week, and their GDP has dropped by 50% because they can't do trade anymore while their manufacturing base was destroyed (and Iran is not trying to rebuild). Hell, they're not even trying to rebuild bridges that were destroyed months ago.

They don't have the runway left to win-no oil, no money to function defensively. Simply put, we are not going to put troops there during Trump's term in office, so we use bombing as a method of attack instead. That takes a lot longer to win--the model is more the Linebacker I and II massive bombing raid strategy that Nixon used on North Vietnam to force them to cede for peace. It was not Nixon's fault that a Democrat Congress threw the victory (of keeping S. Vietnam relatively free away).

US violated its own treaty obligations and did not respond to direct invasion by the N. Va. Army and worse, Dems in Congress cut off all aid to S. Vietnam to fight.

Bombing works but it is a slower strategy than invasion and not a direct path to regime change. That, as always, depends on the Iranian people.

For the US, the stated goal has always been to prevent nukes, and we have pretty much done that and can continue to do that. And that is the gist of the difference between Israel and US--Israel thinks regime change is possible, US is not very sure about it.

That's the other side of it, the DOJ Civil Rights' Divisions efforts to clean up voter rolls. It's an uneven application, more successful in some areas (NC) than others (NY).

But, the point was that 6% of illegal aliens just...voted. They were regular voters. And they most likely voted Democrat. And those are gone now.

It not even really an evaluation of the war but rather applying a domestic political lens to foreign policy abroad. Much like the Vietnam War--the conservatives and liberals by Nixon's mid first term agreed on getting US out--the conservatives because Nixon did not go all out to destroy the N. Neither outcome is remotely plausible.

Last week I read an article on this MR that baldly asserted that the raid on Caracas resulted in a clean, simple regime change. A regime change that never happened at all, cleanly or otherwise.

The media and the people who believe them are working together to live their most retarded lives.

Our long occupation of Afghanistan is apropos. Registrations have gone down 7 million since 2024.

Which makes a lot more sense. Voter roll cleanup is actually pretty standard in most of the country, so people get pulled off regularly (deaths, moves, etc.). That leads to lower registration numbers after major elections.

Not really. Americans don't care about bombings or even war like this, it is the casualties that bring the political pain. And much of that analysis relied on the Korean and Vietnamese wars that relied on conscript troops (always more political unpopular than professional volunteer military).

So when you are speaking about Americans--it is best to consider that a subset, like you, are upset, not all Americans because most Americans are not ideological--they are outcome oriented. They don't like casualties and they don't like high gas prices/inflation. With this war, half and half.

Beyond that, those not Democrats are actually glad that Iran is getting noogies from Uncle Sam as payback for fifty years of Death to America.

There are apparently dueling numbers floating around, 174 million for 2024 vs. 211 million for 2024.

I think the 174 is an undercount of registrations, but the 204 million for 2026 is definitely derived from the same methodology as what came up with 211 for 2024.

It's a 7 million decrease, not a 30 million increase.

One, the recent RCP polling includes a ridiculous Quinnipiac poll that had a large enough outlier to throw the whole average out of whack, two, most people do not consider the Iran war as first, second, or even fifth priority. Since the bombing started with low casualties, that is not an issue.

But the ancillary problems of higher oil prices at the pump is going to hurt Trump and GOP a bit.

That does not mean DSA types are benefitting as commie ideas infatuate the Ivy League Idiots but not mom and pa voters and the whole pied a terre tax pretty much is going to be a failure for Dems.

But on any polling, wait until Labor Day as suddenly vague registered voter screening becomes likely voters (justification is that voter registrations in most states are complete). Summer polling is always crap even as far back as 88-Dukakis Bush.

It's not controversial to tell the American people and whomever else is listening that he wants to unite the ME with prosperity instead of constant fighting. He has said this many times, it's what the Abraham Accords are all about.

All I'm saying is relate it to current events. Trump honestly believes that people in mutually beneficial business alliances aren't incentivized to fight each other. Explain how that relates to the alliance Trump is building around the Iran situation. The biggest complaint I hear about Iran is the price of oil. Explain how that will change as the war comes to an end.

Trump is pretty good at communicating. It's what he does. Do it now.

When I've met a couple who don't have children by choice not medical issues, one of them is always "the child" requiring extra care, time and attention, and able to maintain a certain immaturity.

Also, there is also always one of the couple who wants kids, and will complain about it unprompted fairly often.

Fox polling is universally awful because it is supervised by a Democrat operative who has worked there even during the Ailes era. I think they do it in part because a) it gives reason for people to watch fox because fear and panic work (if it bleeds it leads), b) the Murdochs are not GOP but GOPe at best and personally hate Trump, and c) the news desk and all their peeps that are not on the opinion side are all leftists just like the WSJ used to be--now it is all globo homo including opinions. I agree. Unfortunately Trump is having to play Whack-A-Mole on the IRGC leaders and any mullahs still having influence on IRGC leaders. Conventional wisdom was the Israeli and US decapitation bombings in the first few days of the war would lead to a leadership vacuum, resulting in the IRGC and remaining top mullahs simply giving up and fleeing to any nation that would take them. I had to chuckle at that. I remember well the summer of 1988; I was in college but also the army reserves. Bush was down 17 points to Dukakis. I went on my 2 week annual reserves training during which time the GOP had their convention (Bush Sr - 1000 pts of light, kindler gentler … other Noonan crap). I get back and suddenly Bush is ahead! I don’t know to this day if that was polling errata or Bush actually changed a bunch of minds at the convention

Not really in summer. Summer polling has long been known for a distinct pattern difference between rural and suburban GOP voters not responding and Democrats doing so.

Vacays, field work, etc. tend to affect GOP voters more than Democrats who are urban. So the response bias gets a lot worse in summer.

As I said, this polling problem goes way back to the 80's at the very least due to Democrats becoming an urban party and the GOP becoming suburban/rural.

IRGC survival as the Iranian Command Authority is the Iranian resistance factor now, and has been from the start. Whatever we bombed in those 11 days apparently did not inflict catastrophic damage to the ability of the IRGC to stay in command of the nation.

Polling error. Simply put, most presidential elections are within 5-10 points historically and the historical conditions for a wipeout like FDR in 1932, Nixon in 1972 or Reagan's reelection in 1984 were not there. So there was no Depression, no great settling of a politically horrible war, or a fantastically booming economy in play in 1988 so it was a 55-45 election at best in summer for Dukakis. And Bush won it about with that margin. Ten percent of voters were persuadeable in that case at most.
