Good morning kids. Early doctor's appointment for the wife this morning so off we go... And as the details of the Iran ceasefire deal continue to dominate the headlines, the good bad and ugly, we have this item of some minor interest, eh? A complaint from FBI task force officer Christopher Betts alleged that 19-year-old Tycen Proper of Knox County, Ohio, joined a group that wanted to unleash mass terror at the UFC event. The group wanted to target Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and other elected officials they said had compromised themselves by taking money from “pro-Israel PACs,” according to the complaint. In messages plotting the attack, the FBI alleges that Proper wrote, “I got a possible target Marsha Blackburn is senator for Tennessee” because “she’s taken money from the Israel pro Israel lobby and supports them.” The suspects planned to use explosive drones to drive a crowd in the direction of snipers, according to investigators. Betts said that Proper, whom local law enforcement arrested last week, “admitted to planning with others a coordinated attack against the United States government during the UFC event scheduled to take place.” Other elected officials seen as targets were Senator Jim Justice, Senator Shelley Moore Capito, Rep. Carol Miller, and Rep. Riley Moore — all of whom hail from West Virginia — Betts said a review of a chat planning the attack revealed. With that I give you this entry, a well-written yet clueless essay, given everything going on in this country that continues to tear us apart even as we approach our 250th birthday. Principles for a Centrist Realignment: The Grand Alliance: The path to national renewal begins when Americans unite around common sense instead of division, decline, and perpetual crisis. That's just the headline and subhead which is enough to make my point, but here's a bit more to whet your appetite or make you puke: First, most Americans don’t want to live in a divided nation, and they don’t want to live in a culture that has devolved to cater to society’s lowest, most abnormal, deviant, hedonistic, psychotic, sociopathic, dishonest, crooked, lazy, defiant, bizarre, militant cohorts of individuals, regardless of the fact they’ve become politically organized and demand equality of outcome in every imaginable context. Most Americans understand the inherent necessity and benefits of nuclear families, hard work, and immutable standards for achievement and recognition. Second, America’s culture of common sense and unity is threatened by a fractious coalition of fanatics and lunatics who are relatively small in number and who harbor an innate antipathy toward each other that is only held in check by rivers of money flowing to them from globalist billionaires, opportunistic corporations, environmentalist pressure groups, and government unions. Their resources are money and anger. . .Where to even begin. If any of this were true, then California would not be Zimbabwe on the Pacific instead of what it once was; the world's sixth largest economy and where many once flocked to make their American dream become real. We as a nation and people are more divided than at any time in our history, perhaps even more than 1860. Because as fundamentally serious as the issue of slavery was, we are now divided by the perverse notion that our nation and society as founded is illegitimate and that those who support it and desire its restoration are an evil to be eradicated by any and every means necessary, as the foiled plot against the UFC event at the white House, and every other attack and assassination attempt has demonstrated to all but the blind deaf and dumb. So, just like the moderates of Islam, where are the so-called "moderates" of the Democrat/Left in the wake of the aforementioned as well as all of the attacks on our values, institutions and even ourselves, be it the President, Laken Riley or the United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, Ashli Babbitt, Roseanne Boyland, and Austin Metcalf whose grave is being urinated upon to the cheering of those we are supposed to make peace with? Sorry but in the immortal words of Andrew Breitbart FUCK YOU, WAR And nothing but absolute victory will be acceptable to me. Have a great day,

I am no longer as much a 'Trump'-ist as I was formerly. He has COMPLETELY abdicated the position of strength we formerly held in this conflict and has 'bent the knee' to the mullocracy. They now believe THEY're the winners 'cos they're (a) still alive, (b) getting their money, (c) keeping their 'nuke dust', and (d) still launching missiles at vessels transiting the Strait. WHAT, precisely, has Trump now 'won'? Sorry, but I have to look at what all the bluff and bluster has gotten him (and us). Nothing. The ONLY good thing to result from this misbegotten undertaking is that we didn't re-enact 'Bagram, Pt II'. Trump blew it.

3 — I say this with sadness. Trump stepped on his dick with this Iran deal. That NY Post story (a paper that’s usually friendly to Trump) is not pretty.
Yes, the initial bombardment weakened them a lot and set them back. But… given their worldview, when they survive they’ve won; they’ve slain the great Satan. They don’t want to be a normal country. Any deal, regardless of the details, is something they’ll break and is therefore worthless Yet again we’ve kicked the can down the road; kicked it farther than before.. but it’s still down the road. Given this outcome I’d almost prefer he didn’t start the thing and be satisfied with the results of last June’s bombings…. Posted by: LinusVanPelt at June 17, 2026 06:43 AM (yz/88) 15

Proper joined a TikTok group called “Vanguard of the Old” in March 2026, where members discussed how they believed the United States needed to be destroyed and rebuilt from the ground up, according to the complaint. Proper allegedly told the FBI that he believed “many of the group members had prior military experience.”

FFS, no one before Trump wanted to deal with Iran. The snake isn't dead but it's defanged.
We had been on a trajectory with truly awful potential outcomes, set on course by Obama and ValJar who wanted to make Iran a regional hegemon. They unfroze hundreds of billions to that end. As if that wasn't enough they gave them pallets of cash for walking-around money to spread terror. Biden was their third term continuing this. Trump got as much as he could without getting us sucked into a quagmire. Iran won't be much of an issue Come November. I say, well played sir. JERSEY CITY, N.J. (PIX11) — Five women are recovering at the hospital after they were attacked with sulfuric acid in New Jersey on Monday night, according to a spokesperson for Jersey City.
The women were near 105 Wilkinson Ave. in Jersey City when two people on a moped drove past their car and threw acid on them, the spokesperson said. They were all transported to the hospital with skin burns and peeling but were expected to survive, the spokesperson reported. According to police, the incident appears to be targeted and may have stemmed from an argument with a large group of people earlier in the day -just people attacking people- Posted by: vmom deport deport deport at June 17, 2026 06:48 AM (fE6HJ) 20

Stop thinking in terms of an unwinnable war unless the nation is carpet bombed with nukes. The US is far too diverse to handle war at that scale. Think of the much bigger and much more higher stakes war: BRI v IMEC If one thing occurred, this has was a torpedo at the keel of China’s BRI. Look at how the whole dynamic of global trade has changed by making the SoH and Persian Gulf a huge volatike mess. IMEC 2.0 KOs BRI Posted by: Community Notes at June 17, 2026 07:13 AM (a4flb) 47

Black Parole Supervisor Fired for Racist Remarks on Austin Metcalf: ‘Let Them Start Burying Some of Theirs for a Change.’

Secondly, where does this ignorant idiot get the notion white kids are running around in droves killing black kids...like St. Karmelo the Killer? "Let them start burying some of theirs...?" Really? The Brazilian government has temporarily suspended the rollout of the world’s first single dose dengue vaccine. There have been reports of two deaths and 42 cases of serious adverse reactions after inoculation. The vaccine, developed by the Butantan Institute, has been administered to approximately 500,000 individuals. “The Ministry of Health reported 42 cases, or 0.008 percent of the 500,000 doses given through May 30, though officials are unsure if the vaccine caused the problems.

The reason most blacks hate whites, besides the government school indoctrination, is that guilt ridden white liberals forget that people who receive charity always hate the giver. A man receiving charity practically always hates his benefactor, this is a fixed characteristic of human nature. Being forced into reliance strips a person of their dignity and creates a toxic dynamic of obligation and underlying resentment.

The MOU (if legit) .....is a total surrender and a clear view into the admins (at least a vocal and dominant part of it that gives with Trump) thinking. And that thinking is not good in any way.
Again, if true, IRGC gets everything, cash, prizes and a vacation to the Bahamas. Keep the nuke material and can still close the strait whenever they want to. And sanctions are gone. Yes, they are "defanged" but they can still close the strait and attack their neighbors infrastructure and develop nukes with missile capability. Good news is Israel seems to be able to continue their moves on Hez and other Iranian cutouts in Lebanon. The energy flows and choke points are in the process of reordered and China got a taste of how very vulnerable they are and now have to purchase market oil in dollars. Long term that's a win. But at the end of all of this....IRGC still in charge, still has missiles/drones...still has proxies (although deminished) and still has the nuclear dust. I'm hoping that "leaked" MOU is incomplete or an early draft....if not, yeesh. Not good, stains those involved. Posted by: GigantorX at June 17, 2026 07:52 AM (fyq0f) 124

A lot of people haven't a clue what the requirements are for a datacenter. They obviously vary.
One way to get involved and either advocate for them, or find out details to use in an effort to thwart them is to get on a county commission. A board, like one that rezones property, adjusts property taxes, does impact statements, crunches numbers, etc. Most of the time it's strictly volunteer work. Part time. Maybe an hour or two a month. Plus sitting in the meetings. A number of locals have done just this. Most are against the proposed center, for a variety of reasons. But what the politicians and developers tell the locals is significantly different from what is documented in the commission's reports to government heads. That by itself is something of an issue. Transparency and all. If you're passionate about them, go advocate for them. If not, go get involved in the planning processes and ask questions, inform the public, etc. It costs nothing but time. Another Major Transgender Suicide Study Crumbles
******** This article highlights THE major flaw/weakness of the specialty of adolescent medicine, and not only in the case of gender confusion. Whether dealing with questions of sex, drugs, or rock-and-roll, clinical studies in the field rely to a great extent on questionnaires and self-reported subjective feelings from adolescents. And we all know that adolescents are mature, not manipulative, and are always truthful on sensitive topics. /s The entire field is built on a foundation of emotions and self-serving self-reporting rather than actual measurable objective outcomes in a truly randomized fashion. The questionnaires themselves are crafted in a way that steers the results in a direction the authors prefer. Bogus science. Posted by: muldoon at June 17, 2026 08:30 AM (qgHp7) 239

CHCO is trying to "split the baby" (which is an odd practice for a children's hospital) by pretending to re-open the TRUE Center while knowing that the docs at the Center are refusing to write the hormone prescriptions. This tells us that the HHS finding (that puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones in children are not supported by objective evidence) has real teeth. Good for RFK,Jr and his team. CHCO won't let a small minority of their clinical services jeopardize their flow of Medicaid bucks.

There seems to be a precedent with the whole going to war/boots on the ground thing. If you aren’t going yourself(I’m not), sending your kids to fight(they’re not) haven’t served(I haven’t) then you have no say. Okay fine. I am however paying for the military, I’m sure some of my FICA deductions are going to it. So in that I assume I have a say. I say disband the military, we don’t need it. Boots on the ground in some foreign country is a no go so there is no point in having troops. All it is is a welfare program. Nobody seems to be able to explain or give an example of when troops should be committed to fighting. What is a viable U.S. interest to commit troops? Clearly Iran getting nukes isn’t. So what is? Those with the authority to speak on military affairs should at least step up and say when we should put boots on the ground. Just like I’m not able to have an opinion on female matters, abortion for example, I will no longer have an opinion that involves the military. Only veterans or current active members can. So by all means what is the military for?

Voters reject effort to hike Oklahoma’s minimum wage. State Question 832 would have gradually increased the minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2029 with additional increases based on the cost of living.
Oklahoma’s minimum wage has been $7.25 an hour since 2009. It is also the national minimum wage. $15 an hour on a typical full-time 40-hour workweek comes out to $31,200 a year, before taxes. Imagine being so brain-rotted to think this amount is making bank in the year 2026. How can this happen? People making minimum wage who would benefit from this *have* to outnumber so-called "job creators" that would lose money from it by... a *lot*. I suppose you can blame "epstein class" or the political parties or the media but sometimes its just the voters. can't fix stupid When I went to vote, a bus load of older folks from a retirement home were dropped off. I knew it was doomed then. Also, it should be illegal to put these ballot questions on a random Tuesday in June. It needs to be on the November ballot. How can this happen? People making minimum wage who would benefit from this *have* to outnumber so-called "job creators" that would lose money from it by... a *lot*. I suppose you can blame "epstein class" or the political parties or the media but sometimes its just the voters. can't fix stupid This is a huge difference between the right and the left. Posted by: Ignoramus at June 17, 2026 06:45 AM (dtajH) THIS. Trump has made the best out of a bad situation. I've always said that Trump's plan is to use Election Day as the point after which he can cut the head of the IRGC snake permanently. That deadline is for the IRGC and not Trump. This deal kicks the can down the road, takes Iran off the table as an election issue, comes closer to guarantee he keeps Congress (I'm not worried about that at all), and gives him a look at what the IRGC does to prepare for another conflict. The next time, we take Kharg Island, neutralize their defense of the Strait, and go after them with Trump not needing to answer to anyone domestiically. For those who doubt Trump, answer me this: when has he EVER made a promise that he didn't keep, or try very hard to keep? Why would you think that Trump, knowing what had been done with Iran over 47 years, would not succeed where predecessors have failed? Posted by: Darrell Harris at June 17, 2026 09:04 AM (j8uqt) 350

I decided to try Shake Shack. Good burger and good grilled hot dog but insanely overpriced. Like the ideas of their shakes, Esp. the Dubai Chocolate and Pistachio Shake. But, at 1300 cal, no thanks. So the two drivers on this deal:
Trump deprived Iran of income, Iran by continuing the conflict has driven gas prices up that are a concern for the Nov elections. For those who doubt Trump, answer me this: when has he EVER made a promise that he didn't keep, or try very hard to keep? Why would you think that Trump, knowing what had been done with Iran over 47 years, would not succeed where predecessors have failed?
Posted by: Darrell Harris ====== All true. But I think a lot of people want regime change in Teheran and that is simply not something bombing can give you. It takes boots on the ground unless the people of Iran do it themselves. About 50-100k apparently tried an died as a result and failed to dislodge the IRGC and those were probably the bravest of the resistance. We can destroy infrastructure like we did Saddam's Iraq, even perhaps pick off endless leaders du jour, but unless you plan on invading Iran with a 500k military and are prepared to take substantial casualties, regime change in the short run is simply not going to happen. So that leaves the most unpleasant duty--containment. We can and have prevented Iran from producing a bunch of nukes in short order and their bragging about it in negotiations is why Trump acted when he did. Which was the US focus on Iran, not regime change. Posted by: whig at June 17, 2026 09:33 AM (E4rtv) 458

But I think a lot of people want regime change in Teheran and that is simply not something bombing can give you. It takes boots on the ground unless the people of Iran do it themselves.
. . . We can destroy infrastructure like we did Saddam's Iraq, even perhaps pick off endless leaders du jour, but unless you plan on invading Iran with a 500k military and are prepared to take substantial casualties, regime change in the short run is simply not going to happen. Posted by: whig at June 17, 2026 09:33 AM (E4rtv) This should be inarguable wisdom. But, alas. Posted by: Comrade Flounder, Disinformation Demon at June 17, 2026 09:41 AM (dK+Kv) 467
Unfortunate, because it means the trouble will return at a later date. But who's willing and able to pay the cost to finish it properly?
Posted by: Brother Tim sez: Fiat Justicia, Ruat Caelum at June 17, 2026 09:32 AM (OUMaO) THAT is the crux of my point. If answered honestly, the answer is that some people are willing for OTHER people to bear the cost of their foreign policy preferences. There's a small (55 unit) chain of gas stations called Wesco I had discussions with 10 years ago about expanding beyond the pump and dump model; some do bakery and pizza or house a Subway, but the key to the larger chains is location and volume of customers. Hiring employees to clean toilets full time takes a lot of shit passing through. Posted by: Auspex at June 17, 2026 09:45 AM (Y8DZL) 469
