MORNING RANT: The Renormalization of Slavery – Great Britain is Backing Off from Forced Labor Ban in Pursuit of Net Zero Objectives
One of the great triumphs of western civilization, especially since the Age of Enlightenment, has been the rejection of slavery in western societies. Human chattel and slave labor were the norm throughout most of human existence. The rejection of slavery these past couple centuries has been an anomaly. Or maybe I should say “had been an anomaly.” Slavery is now being justified by the climate cultists as necessary to save the planet.
Disturbingly, there is a broad coalition of westerners who fancy themselves as being “enlightened,” but they are actually leading the effort to re-establish slavery. As I documented in an American Spectator piece titled “The War on Labor Expense is Renormalizing Slavery, Just in a 21st Century Form,” free market libertarians advocate for the use of offshore forced labor so as to lower labor costs. With a straight face they make the argument that a prohibition on the use of foreign slaves is a tax on American consumers. Where slavery can’t be offshored, human trafficking cartels are importing slave labor into the United States and other western countries. Their human chattel is put to work by legitimate business entities, but through an opaque hiring process involving layers of “sub-contractors.” Among the greatest achievements of the British empire and the Royal Navy was the eradication of slavery in the western world / in the 19th century. The UK has backtracked on its pledge to ban slave labour from its renewable supply chain to meet Ed Miliband's Net Zero goals. Labour enshrined in law a promise that its state-run company GB Energy would not fund companies using forced labour. But following a probe that revealed that it had funded solar panels for schools without guarantees that they were ethically manufactured, it rowed back. In a statement, the energy department introduced a new caveat to say that it would only ensure panels were free from forced labour 'as far as possible'. It came as the Government announced that it would push to rid the energy system of fossil fuels and focus on renewables instead.The Sustainable Organic Church of the Climate Apocalypse is a demonic religion that first advocated for a reduction in human standards of living, and is now embracing the re-normalization of slavery. Its high priests are actually making the argument that the use of slave labor is a moral good when used in pursuit of the church’s anti-carbon mission. That’s not acceptable. We must realize that the left and its climate agenda are a de-humanizing death cult that is heading full-steam toward a societal overhaul such as what was imposed by Mao and Pol Pot. Net Zero must be repudiated and politically de-fanged. We cannot let this get any further out of control.
While I would endorse Jeffrey Carter, who is a friend of mine, irrespective of the quality of his opponent, Jeff is the clear choice in this race. His opponent, Drew Johnson, is a serial candidate who has name recognition from the races he has lost. The critical thing to know is that Drew Johnson is a fringe libertarian who admires Thomas Massie. When Mr. Johnson ran for Congress a few years ago (a race he lost) he promised to work with Massie to undermine President Trump.

I recall a few years back, the US admitted that if every car is the world was eliminated it would reduce carbon emissions by less than 1%. It won't make a difference, but we should still do it because reasons.

Let's say there's 100k engineering jobs in the US.
But 80k qualified citizens.

For those interested in a fresh perspective on slavery and the origins of the CW, I highly recommend this book: A Disease in the Public Mind: A New Understanding of Why We Fought the Civil War, by Thomas Fleming.
The biggest insight I got was the impact of the abolitionist's contempt for southerners in general, and slaveowners in particular. The South understood that's how they were viewed, and in Fleming's opinion, if the abolitionists had been a bit more diplomatic, a war might have been averted. I'm sure that attitude would not have been pleasing to the slaves, and we'll never know, but maybe.
The other big stumbling block to a resolution was the South's fear of a race war along the lines of Haiti's brutal war with the French. Fleming suggests that the way to solve that problem was to station large numbers of Federal troops in states as they were sequentially emancipated. That actually sounds reasonable to me. The South wouldn't hear of it, of course, because they also had a financial interest in keeping slavery.

There are people who would welcome the opportunity to have their lives managed by someone else if that someone took responsibility for housing, feeding, clothing, etc. the individual. Before we totally write off slavery, I think it might be enlightening to ask the potential slaves. There are people who would welcome the opportunity to have their lives managed by someone else if that someone took responsibility for housing, feeding, clothing, etc. the individual. Perhaps a new age of enlightened slavery could be considered based on the directionless youth we have now.

My oldest got mildly reprimanded in class (5th grade) for pointing out that slavery predates the United States and still exists all over the world.

2) Further demoralize any opposition. They are fine if more people move out of the state. They are perfectly content on ruling the ashes.
We keep saying and pointing out how disastrous their policies are (Mamdani is another example.) We keep missing the point: They do not care, all they want is power. It does not have to work or be moral in any aspect, as long as they are in charge, forever.

On a practical note, now that I mentioned caching things;
- Rigid container, enough to project the contents from a shovel and not collapse under the weight of soil. PVC actually doesn't work great for modern arms because you need the really fat stuff and it's a pain in the ass, but any cheap hard case will do.
- Mylar bags, the type you'd use to do long term food storage. The heavy stuff that's an oxygen barrier
- Hair straightener (flat iron), the tong style ones, to seal the mylar
- Clean and heavily oil firearms... stick packaged ammo in some ammo cans for a couple of weeks with dessicant to dry them out. Toss either one (not together) into mylar with fresh dessicants and seal it
- Throw it in the hard container, and there you go.
Most modern waterproof cases like Pelicans have goretex vents that will let vapor in, making them unsuitable for burial by themselves. Old school medical chests have clasps that rust, and Hardigg cases have manual pressure valves but may also have latch corrosion, and the valves have to be protected from being activated. The mylar takes on the burden of a vapor barrier instead.

I still contend that by not forcing the issue with California's batshit crazy voting laws and ID scams, we encourage other states to go the CA way too.
And not for 'just' local/county/state elections.

The chemistry seems to work, but the problem with abiogenic oil is that there is no pore space in rocks at that depth for any oil so created to accumulate. There have been a few wells drilled to test the abiogenic oil theory, none have been successful, or they would have been cited out the ying yang.
