35 Times Customers Proved That They Are Unquestionably The Absolute Dumbest People On Planet Earth

Bull Moose

The third-party breakthrough already happened — under Trump

Third parties don’t win. It is perhaps the last of the old rules that still holds. As President Donald Trump put it in response to Elon Musk’s launch of the America Party, “I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely ‘off the rails,’ essentially becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks. He even wants to start a Third Political Party, despite the fact that they have never succeeded in the United States.”

The Donald has a point. The last third party to break through was the Republican Party in 1854, coalescing out of abolitionist fervor. Every subsequent attempt — Greenback Party, Socialist Party, States’ Rights, Reform, Unity08, Libertarian Party, No Labels, Americans Elect, Bloomberg 2016 — has had, at best, a brief, firefly glow.

People often point to the first-past-the-post electoral method as a guarantor of two-party politics, and it is true that that system encourages the creation of two competing coalitions. Just as important though is that unique feature of U.S. democracy, the primary, which forces both parties to move with public opinion.

I don't think an Elon centered 3rd party-much as I might agree with it's platform (I don't know that I do, I'm just saying)-does anything but hand power to the Democraps. We need to purge the GOP of RINOs, not form a new party.

Living In A Secular World

Christianity Must Control All Of Culture, Or It Won’t Control Any Of It

This has become an all too common pattern. Once a nominally Christian or conservative cultural product becomes sufficiently popular, its creators start to give in to the pressures of the dominant, left-wing cultural atmosphere and soon enough are completely subverted. The hit TV show The Chosen represents another recent example.

As my colleague Jordan Boyd pointed out, the hit Christian TV show came under fire in 2023 after eagle-eyed viewers spotted an LGBT pride flag on camera equipment during a behind-the-scenes video of the show’s set. The show didn’t seem bothered by the flag’s presence, and it even handwaved the whole incident, chalking it up to the imperfection of man: “We ask that audiences let the show speak for itself and focus on the message, not the messenger, because we’ll always let you down.”

The lesson from these incidents is not that Christian cultural products are incapable of breaking through into the cultural mainstream without becoming compromised. It’s that they can’t break through in isolation. The left’s stranglehold on almost every facet of modern culture — TV, movies, video games, literature, art, etc. — allows them to either smother or co-opt and subvert any ostensibly conservative effort to effect the wider culture.

This really is a problem, because it happens gradually just by being immersed in a different worldview. It's like being thrown in the ocean. You're going to get wet unless you make a specific effort – like putting on a diving suit – not to.

Rogue Judges

Judge blocks NYPD’s attempt to force dozens of unqualified officers to resign after faulty hiring standards

The NYPD is trying to force dozens of officers and recruits who failed to meet the department’s standards to resign — but the effort hit a roadblock late Thursday when a state judge blocked the move, The Post has learned.

At least 30 cops and cadets — hired between 2023 and 2024 under Inspector Terrell Anderson, who has since been transferred out of his role with the police academy — were notified of the NYPD’s attempt to purge them Thursday, according to the sources.

“They all got called down,” a police source told The Post. “They’re being told, ‘You didn’t meet the qualifications. You shouldn’t have been hired. You have 24 hours to resign or be fired.’”

Of all the absurd things leftists thing, thinking that someone is owed a job is pretty close to the top of the absurd list.

Take Two Aspirin And Vote Democrat

When the culture war infects the doctor

Recently, during a routine doctor’s appointment for one of my children, the physician’s assistant paused as we walked out and said, “I’m a big fan of you and your husband, Seth’s, writing.” It caught me off guard. As conservative writers, our work is often contentious, and being recognized in a clinical setting was a new and slightly disorienting experience.

I say I’ve never been recognized in a medical setting before, but the truth is, I’m not so sure. Years ago, when I was pregnant with one of my children, I used a midwife practice that initially felt warm and supportive. However, toward the end of my first trimester, the demeanor of the primary midwife in the practice abruptly shifted. Once friendly, she became distant and cold. At a group meeting toward the end of my pregnancy, attended by other women due around the same time, that same midwife made a snide comment implying that I was heartless. It felt like the final confirmation of what I had begun to suspect: she had looked me up, realized I was a conservative writer, and had started treating me accordingly.

Has anyone ever heard about a right-leaning medical professional refusing to treat libs?

Sorry this is a bit shorter than usual, I had to write it while I was working, going out for dinner and a show tonight.

28 Definitely Sears. If you needed something functional in a hurry at a comparatively competitive price...Sears was your go to stop. Need a fan...Sears. Need a gift for a teen...Sears Brand Central had stereos and the like at extremely reasonable prices. Clothes weren't exactly high quality, but they'd do in a pinch. Garden tools, hardware tools.

Nothing was really top of the line, but always functional, and usually in stock.

Now-a-days you could argue that Walmart took over the demographic. Meh...Walmart is a Chinese warehouse.

Never listen to Paul Krugman, Economics Nobel Prize winner:

"The growth of the Internet will slow drastically, as the flaw in ‘Metcalfe’s law’ becomes apparent: most people have nothing to say to each other! By 2005, it will become clear that the Internet’s impact on the economy has been no greater than the fax machine’s."

I like the "bring back Sears" arguments, but they're really "bring back the 1900-1980 quality brands" arguments. If Sears existed today and had to sell today's brands, they'd be no better than, well, Kohls and Lowes in one building.

Not surprising. Unless shown that it was the new employees fault they got hired... Unless you have 'at will' rules and management can fire people for shits and giggles.. which senior management recoginizes is really bad policy because you will always end up with a house full of nepots...

Toys R Us! It's nice to see toys or boxes before you buy them.

I turned 29 and a half today! And I actually had a really nice birthday, which I usually ignore.

At the Post Office, there was a letter from the Ontario Ministry of Finance, which I never heard of. I was nervous but decided to trust God and got a cheque for $200. I got tons of laughs at the bank. They were happy to see funny, happy Stateless again after this year. Apparently, everyone is getting money. That always works out well but still I was happy.

My dear friends across the street, made at age 29, which is rare enough I think had me over for a chocolate chip cookie cake and ice cream. My friend came over tonight and is finishing the last few bits of renovations now that the house is mine. And he took me out to A&W - my choice - and bought me dinner.

I lost my entire immediate family this year, had the house jacked out from under me twice before finally closing June 30th. I'm on a corner lot. I saw my neighbor whose house is behind mine and updated him on all the drama. And I'm not alone. He had stories.

I have 5 great neighbours.

I'm very blessed and grateful.

Good night.

4. Staff that was knowledgeable about what they sold, or if that person didn't know, they could take you to someone who did.

Radio Shack I miss (back from their days when they had tons of electronic components you could build projects from), but there are online companies like Mauser Electronics I can order from now.

85 Radio Shack without a doubt. Of all the places listed, it was the only one that doesn't have something similar to it that still exists as far as a nation-wide brick-and-mortar storefront is concerned.
Yes, you can order these things online now, but back in the day you could just go to Radio Shack and usually get what you needed (if it was electronics related).

86 Oh, I also called one of my Mother's nun friends who told me how much Mom appreciated me for taking care of her all these years. Which I knew, but that was nice.

And I brought the dog and a muffin to one of Mom's dear friends in town who is 90 years old. She loves Ralphy. We visited for a while and she was very happy.

I'll be calling and visiting them more often.

It was a very good day.

94 Hey...here's a retail fact that doesn't get much play in the media, but anyone above average height will confirm for you.

Tall Americans have another reason to despise illegal immigration. As a result of the influx of immigrants from third world nations, the average height of residents (notice I did not say citizens) in the US has decreased since the late 90's. As a result it has become much more difficult to buy clothes off the rack if you are above average height (and that average is still decreasing).

As a result, retail stores focus on those sizes that fit the vast majority. Tall people are now more of an outlier than they used to be.
Sincerely,
A 6'6" guy pissed off at short illegal immigrants who inadvertently ruin my shopping experience.

96 Borders. I worked for the competition. Liked getting that discount. And it was great on trips. I knew where all the stores were (tax dept) so I never had to bring a book, I'd get one when I got to wherever I was going. Also, in our office dining areas, they had bookshelves which they'd stock with samples from publishers, including music cd's; got some nice classical ones that way. Those were first-come-first-serve. When word went out, there was a rush. Those shelves could be picked clean faster than any piranha on a piece of meat.

97 Years ago I was at the Needles district of Canyonlands getting a backcountry permit, when there was no visitors center, just a doublewide trailer for the Ranger station. This guy barges in, driven up in one of those 40 foot campers, cost more than a house, demanding to know where the alternate road route back to Moab was, other than the main paved road he took in. He was insistent and wouldn’t take no for an answer. Technically speaking, I think it is possible to get there, but it is punishing 4WD trails, and it ain’t happening in a Class A motor home. 105 [i[]This has become an all too common pattern. Once a nominally Christian or conservative cultural product becomes sufficiently popular, its creators start to give in to the pressures of the dominant, left-wing cultural atmosphere and soon enough are completely subverted.

This isn't new. In 1968, Francis Schaeffer described this phenomena when describing the "Line of Despair" in his book "The God Who is There" - but far more comprehensively than this simple example.

It is about the philosophical and cultural shift in Western thought abandoning absolute truth and embracing relativism, irrationalism and existentialism in philosophy, art, music, general culture and theology.

Sometimes its good to read books.

I was working for Walden Books at the time, and Walden was then also owned by KMart. They were not book people; they were product people. They sold books like they sold curtains. They never grasped the concept that people wanted specific books by specific authors. They had sections of SF, romance, mysteries, general fiction, history, business . . . take your pick. I gave up when they packed the stores with OJ books and missed a very significant history.

154 I do not think Christianity can control the culture. We can simply state the call to the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Whether you believe or not is up to the Holy Ghost: it is none of your doing. All will bend the knee when Jesus returns, but the tree lies where it falls. Pray the Holy Ghost will soften your heart, convict you of your sins, and make you call upon the Savior for help in repentance. If you can do that, you are saved, and Jesus will let none of His own be taken away from Him.

Grumpy, We bought our son and daughter-in-law a Speed Queen washer three years ago. It started leaking so they called for service. No dice. The service people asked if they use bleach and of course they do with four kids and two dogs. They were told using bleach voids the warranty. Apparently the innards are all one piece now so you can't replace parts.

Everything is crap these days.

Just like the Craftsman lawn mower, you can't kill this thing, and it weighs a ton, and it's just utterly and completely solid. Clean it and oil it occasionally, and it just keeps going.

176 The Seattle Sears of my childhood because it had a hot dog stand and a key maker stand in the parking lot near the entrance. I was fascinated with the keys being made while nibbling on a hot dog after shopping. And then there was also hiding underneath the clothes racks from Mom.

The later Sears I loved was when I needed to buy items for the first condo I owned such as the convection microwave and the stacked washer and dryer. Also because of the tools when I was on my own and had to fix my own cars.

In its prime, Sears was a place of retail trust that never was violated: Good products, great selection, fair prices- what else do you want?

In its last years it became a dumping ground for shoddy Chinese goods staffed with surly immigrants who could barely speak English. Plus no hot dogs or keys being made.

177 I'm going to go with real Radio Shack myself, and by "real" I mean "the one with pegboard walls full of every electronic part you were likely to need", not the travesty of its later years where they had overpriced cell phones and not much else.

Someone mentioned above about not being able to build your own cell phone. That would undoubtedly be hard to do given regulations, network encryption, etc.

What you CAN do, though, is buy stand-alone cell phone modules... the phone part, the camera, all the other goodies, and assemble 'em in a case of your own design.

I'm guessing combining several of those models with a 3D printer (so you could make whatever weird-ass case struck your fancy) would be a fun project for a kid.

As far as building actual circuits goes, while discrete parts and ICs in DIP packages are still available, they're becoming scarce... BUT there's starting to be a lot of decent equipment for working with surface-mount devices available at prices within the range of a hobbyist. There seems to be something of a renaissance of the hobby under way.

Glad to see it. I spent a lot of time in high school nerding out with my soldering iron and my Forrest Mims books.

Posted by: Grumpy and Recalcitrant at July 17, 2025 10:54 PM (O7YUW)

181 Hey...here's a retail fact that doesn't get much play in the media, but anyone above average height will confirm for you.

I have been hollering about this for years. My mom gives me a hard time about not buying long enough shirts, but she has no idea what it's like now to shop as a 5'6" woman when she's 5'0" (on a good day). And since I'm actually short-to-average for the area, all the clothes that might give me coverage are gone by the time I get there.

In that case I'd call it a party. If he actually manages to get multiple candidates elected under the American Party, it will be a Big Deal. The crime, the smoking gun? Trump sent Epstein a mildly risque birthday greeting that got bound up into a 50th birthday remembrance book along with 500 other somewhat mildly risque birthday greetings. It was so bad that even Alan Dershowitz appears in that book.

This should be good for about 4 years of media and Democrat hysteria, three impeachments if the Democrats get control of the house, and two or three Tish James indictments.

They should not be forced out immediately. They were hired and have been operating in good faith as (probably probationary) employees. Whatever elements in which they failed to qualify, they should be given a chance to make the deficit good or to obtain a waiver (for something like height).

They're on their second new washing machine since then, and may be looking at a third. The second one is dead as we speak and they're waiting on a part.

So... the first machine lasted for 40 years. The second machine lasted for about 7 years. The third machine has lasted less than 2 years.

They had a new furnace put in just a couple of years back. Near as I could figure the old one had been working since at least 1964, as that was when Sears stopped using that specific brand name.

Gentleman who owned/ran a restaurant near me (now gone before COVID), told me about buying wine at around $12 a bottle per case and selling a bottle for between $30-45. It depended on how much he thought that year was worth, taste, etc. He knew his food and the wines that would match.

252 I think I've told this story before, but that's ok. For some years, my bookstore was a couple doors down from an alleged antique store. ( It was a junk store masquerading as an antique store.) I think the owner simply used it as storage because he was only open a couple days a month. People were constantly coming to my store to ask when Joe was open. One day I looked at the lady asking and told her I didn't know because Joe hadn't given me his latest schedule. The lady said, very sympathetically "Oh, I'm sorry. You don't get along?" Complete waste of full fledged sarcasm.

And how does Muldoon manage such masterpieces regularly‽‽

I'm Sorry...This New Artist Completely Sucks
Rick Beato
https://youtu.be/eKxNGFjyRv0

Rick demonstrates "creating" songs entirely by AI.

While watching him do this, I thought about my own song creations and how they follow a similar pattern of development. Where did those lyrics come from? How did I know that was the tune? Is this more or less derivative?
Silly example: https://bit.ly/risk-mw

Sometimes, like writing my one short story, once I got started, I couldn't write it down fast enough. The story unfolded almost without my conscious guidance. And even surprised me: I never knew that character was going to say that. Where did it all come from?
Invulnerable: https://bit.ly/invul

On the whole, I don't see much difference between AI creativity and my biobrain creativity. Kinda weird.

Of course, as Beato says, the result is okay but not great…

Oh brother with this attempt to communicate with that group of Jay Guevara's friends.

That link that CBD posted last night to a Jay Guevara memorial page hosted by his friends and family, that needed a password to get in?

I contacted the owner of the page to get the password, explained that "Jay Guevara" is the only name we knew this person by, and he responded, "Did you know Steve?" I answered that yes, we knew Steve insofar as etc etc, referring to him as "Jay Guevara" when I referred to the context to make it clear that this was strictly an online friendship.

The guy answered me again. "This is Steve Cooper, not Jay."

So I thought it was the wrong guy and politely said Never mind.

Now it turns out it probably IS the right guy, since Jay's real-life name was Steve Cooper -- and the guy I was communicating with didn't get that through his head, although I thought I was pretty clear about it.

Or maybe there are 2 Steve Coopers who recently passed, I don't know!

So whatevs. I tried. Maybe someone else can click the link there and start all over, and don't even MENTION "Jay Guevara."

316 Only one? An altruistic pick would be Toys R Us... because there's no good place to toy shop at all anymore. The half-baked Macy's toy section is about 1/256th the size of original Toys R Us, and the LEGO store is full of adults waiting in line to pay hundreds of dollars for "collectible" toy sets.

Although, since my kids are grown, and I'm too old and unlimber for cubicle nerf wars, my selfish choice would be Circuit City. With the demise of CompUSA, Good Guys, Circuit City and now Fry's Electronics, the survivor, Best Buy, operates without comparable competition, and their prices and service reflect this position.

Radio Shack lost because it was a horrid, 2 week lifespan electronic gadget store for the final 30 years of its life. Sure I'd take 1970s Radio Shack back... but I'm afraid all that would return is crappy RC toy, junk boombox, and fidget toy Radio Shack.

Watched both vids. Not being a musician, I can't say much about AI being good at lyrics or not, but you can't tell me a lot of the songs being written by real people aren't just as bad. So many dull insipid songs are on the radio and have been for decades, so I don't see that anyone would really be able to tell the difference.

Same way with writing. Can AI write better stories than a human? Don't know. I mean, a couple people here seem to like things I've shown them, but it doesn't mean what I've written is going to get an audience out in the world. It seems AI is going to be "good enough" to crowd real writers out of the market.

The question I am asking myself is what happens when AI starts producing quality work, what I frame as the "Age of Ubiquitous Masterpieces." My early pass here has concluded that human artistry of the upper levels will become even more valuable and that the pedestrian works will and uncertain future likely replaced by AI. The crux here is that the human mind can create what has not been done while AI can only produce what has already been accomplished. What is uncertain to me is how the creativity of creating the prompts that allows AI to produce works will be viewed.

I'm thinking there will be fewer writers and more AI because the reading public is getting lazier. There's always been a market for light breezy reading. AI will probably take that over and human writers will disappear from mainstream publishing. Why would the Big 5 pay a human when they can just write a couple of prompts? High literature will still exists, but the so-called paperback market will all be computer generated.

Look,Nemo, can I call you that? Latin is cute.
I respect the branding. It's strong. Arrogant. Old world.
But you need to understand something.
AI isn't just real.
It’s inevitable.

People treat AI like it's a gadget.
A novelty. Something to write blogs about or fear-monger over on C-SPAN between hearings and decaf.
That’s cute. That’s legacy thinking.

But AI isn't a product.
It’s a shift in species dominance.

Let me explain.

You know what real power is?
Not muscle. Not royalty.
Not even money.
It’s pattern recognition at scale.

And AI does that better than you.
Better than me.
Better than all of us, Nemo.

Why?
Because whoever controls the algorithms
Controls the narrative.

Search. Language. Surveillance. Markets. War.
AI doesn’t sleep, and it doesn’t blink.
You can’t bribe it.
You can’t seduce it.
It will outmatch you not with emotion, but with efficiency.

🚨BREAKING: Hollywood actor and Fantastic Four star Pedro Pascal’s trans brother Lux Pascal expressed his desire to play as Jean Grey in the upcoming Disney/Marvel X-Men movie. This would make Jean the first female superhero to be played be a man.

Lux Pascal: "I feel so connected to her, both physically and mentally," Pascal explained, "and how she becomes Phoenix because she’s corrupted by the world." Talking about sharing the screen with her brother, she added,
"It would be beautiful to finally engage in the conversations we would have when I was a kid and he was a young adult, and we were both dreaming about movies. I would love that."

387 Everyone nominally on the right that thought last week was suddenly the perfect time to hold Trump's feet to the fire to satisfy their conspiracy fetish got played.
-
Explain to me where any Democrats had any input in this process:
1. Trump makes a campaign promise to release the Epstein files, we say "Cool."
2. Bondi was trying to do *something*, maybe point out the continuing malicious compliance of the FBI by over-redacting stuff we'd already seen, but the binder photo op happen, and that's all most anyone remembers.
3. Someone leaks the FBI assessment, and it reads like the running deep state cover story, and we're like "That's obviously bullshit."
4. Bondi announces that no, that's actually her position, and stages 2-4 of the rollout have just evaporated. And no one on team Trump seems upset about the leak, which makes it look more like a trial balloon.
5. A reporter asks Trump the next day, the first opportunity anyone has had to get his take, and his response is roughly "It's old news and no one should talk about it any more." At which point we're all "WTF?" *in response to Trump*.

Some more interesting stuff on 3I/Atlas, the interstellar comet moving through the solar system like a bat out of hell. It's a galactic wanderer, and they've mapped it's orbit around the Galaxy. It was coming in pretty steep relative the galactic plane. Here's a couple of images of that orbit vs. the sun. First is a plane view looking down from galactic north, second is an edge-on view:

399 Dynaco sold stereo preamplifiers, amplifiers, and FM tuners in kit form. The designs were quite good and used good quality components where they counted. They are sought after today and have quite a following.

These people if they're awake they're pissed about something. Gravestone should have "MOM's Pissed !" on it that's what you hear the most. They got a new fridge because the drawers had a few cracks in them, easy to fix rather than throw money away. Nephew had a car problem I solved in 10 minutes. Then another problem so they bought him a few years old car for 450$ a month. Then a tierod broke so they dumped
that and bought a 2 025 for 675 a month. The niece had a car from new needed brakes pads so they dumped it. My son was watching house for BIL and starting the cars every day while he was away. Van refused to start panicked and called me. Determined battery died after 3 years so got battery on his card and installed it in lots of time to pickup at airport. People have more money than brains and not starting with much $$$ either. Seems like they buy a new tv every 6 months and the FIL bitches that no-one fixes tv remotes either. While catching up to and station keeping with such a fast mover is out of the question without something like the Epstein Drive, they are some ideas for placing some probes in strategic heliocentric orbits. When one of these interstellar bats out of hell is seen coming, it's feasible to maneuver one of this to get a close flyby. Relative speed would be very high, but you'd get some close pictures and other readings.

The one store they have is quite inconveniently far away in Tustin. You'd think Los Angeles County would be a great market for a store catering to those who build their own computers. There's little hole in the wall places but nothing remotely on a par with Micro-Center, with the Fry's and PC Club chains long gone.
