Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Jury Mostly Exonerates P DiddlerI haven't followed this, but I think they got this mostly right. Half of the charges I didn't even understand. It was like Jack McCoy on Law & Order, portrayed as a crusader hero for twisting the law to fit iffy facts. Half of the fictitious people he convicted had actually committed no actual crime. Or much like the J6 prosecutors did, coming up with strained theories about "parading" being part of a "conspiracy to defraud the United States." There's no doubt that this guy is an absolute degenerate pervert, and a weird gay dude into cuck fantasies, but unfortunately we've pretty much made simple sexual degeneracy legal, or even approved by the state. Diddler was found guilty of two minor charges of paying for prostitutes to cross state lines. The "crossing state lines" is what gives this law some kind of a federal pretext. Usually prostitution is handled by state courts, and usually it's not seriously prosecuted. He was found not guilty on all of the serious charges, like some kind of a RICO charge -- I guess they argued that he was the head of a criminal syndicate to commit "Freak-Offs" -- and two counts of sex trafficking.Hip-hop icon Sean Combs was stunningly acquitted Wednesday on federal charges of forcing his former lovers to live out his degrading sexual fantasies -- but found guilty of lesser prostitution raps. Combs, better known by his stage name Diddy, dodged charges that carried a possible life sentence after a two-month trial that revealed twisted details about the mogul, including his preference for "freak-offs" -- watching his girlfriends have grueling, drug-fueled sex romps with male escorts. The embattled entrepreneur, 55, had faced life in prison after being charged with racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. But a jury convicted him only of prostitution charges stemming from shipping the escorts across state lines, which could send him to prison for up to 20 years. Jurors had deliberated for 13 hours total over three days, leading to a dramatic scene in a Manhattan federal courtroom Tuesday morning. If you're charging someone with the Mann Act you're pretty desperate. Megyn Kelly is angry about the judgment, and insists Diddy should have been convicted for sex trafficking. Based on her reportage, apparently the prosecutors tried to prove that Diddler's "girfriends" -- or whatever they were -- were "sexually trafficked" because Diddler sometimes hit them and otherwise exerted his will over them. In other words, she's arguing that two grown-ass women were incapable of simply leaving. She's arguing that they were essentially kept in captivity for sex, and hence, "sex trafficked." But they weren't. They were not held against their will. They were free to come and go whenever they liked. At any time, they could have hired a lawyer to sue him or bring charges against him for assault. But they stayed (until they didn't). Kelly argues that the fear of Diddler hitting them constituted some kind of physical/psychological prison they were kept in. There are some women I'd say could be said to be "trafficked" even if not kept in cages. I can definitely see children being so intimidated by a man that the man can be convicted of sex trafficking even if they're allowed mostly free movement. I can see illegal alien women transported by criminals for sexual purposes. Even if they're free to walk around and go where they like, I could see an argument that they would feel imprisoned by the people who smuggled them into the country. I could see them feeling that their smugglers have leverage over them. And they also might not know that American cops are responsive to citizen complaints. They won't just yell at you and tell you to go back to your husband (or owner) and be a better concubine, as they might in some countries. There are American women who know that American cops actually will investigate your claims, and that any lawyer would love to sue Diddler to extract money from him. I can understand why the jury bought the defense's claim that these women could come and go as they wanted but stayed because they liked the lifestyle and the huge amounts of money Diddler spent on them. I have a hard time agreeing that if a woman chooses to stay with a man, for whatever crazy or corrupt reason, that man can be prosecuted for "trafficking" them. Trafficked to where? To whom? The whole idea of the charge is that women and children are being taken from their homes and brought to an alien and frightening new land are put to work in actual prostitution. These women were born in America and continue to live in America. They are not isolated and alone in America. They know their way around, and they know how to leave a man if they want to. If Diddler hit these women, absolutely, prosecute him for assault. But I can't see how he becomes, basically, a kidnapper when the women don't leave. But again, I didn't follow the case closely. You may have a very different view. If I've missed something, let me know. Below, Megyn Kelly is angry. She says that Diddler wasn't prosecuted for assault because the statute of limitations had passed long ago. But... I'm sorry, but that means you can't bring that case. You can't do a Jack McCoy and twist the law to fit the facts to let you prosecute the charge under a different name. As for the arson-- I completely forgot this was a charge. Or was it? Did the statute of limitations run on that, too, so they re-cast it as part of a RICO charge to overcome the statute of limitations? I'm just reflexively opposed to this type of shenanigans. Yes, the law imposes limits on prosecutors. That's a feature not a bug. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

Megyn Kelly is dead wrong but her view is not unusual. Sadly, that view really hurts victims of real sex trafficking. But with very few exceptions, nobody wants to go after real sex traffickers. Why? Because they're mostly Mexican cartels who'll cut off your head if you cross them. So we go after guys like Diddy. He's scum but taking advantage of gold-diggers and star-fuckers ain't "sex trafficking." It's not even illegal. There is a trend right now of women posting videos of women in need of help or being attacked and guys just watching or leaving. They are crying "where are the good men!!" and complaining about the lack of chivalry. The male response is usually "you chose the bear." And while I think men have a responsibility, a duty, the honor, of protecting the weak and aiding the helpless... the men have a point. You cannot degrade, attack, demonize, and legally ensnare men for decades without there being consequences. You cannot act the "boss babe" slut and expect to be treated as a lady. "You chose the bear" is shorthand for "this is what you get your display that behavior and treat us like crap for my entire life." Its just as wrong as the women's behavior, its weak and unmasculine, but its not exactly shocking to see. Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at July 02, 2025 12:24 PM (dfIr7) 59

And 10 Million from the Hotel. She got the 30 Million she was seeking. Posted by: garrett at July 02, 2025 12:26 PM (ASFuz) ______ Yup. 10 years after the event happened. She was clearly beaten and abused. But she said nothing. She stayed with him for at least two more years; almost became his wife. Only years later -- when Diddy could do nothing more for her or her career -- did she complaint and file lawsuits. I have zero sympathy for her or people like her. We need a category of legal status and behavior for people who at least put up with horrible treatment in order to gain personally, or achieve a goal. Was it really coercion if you went along with it at the time willingly? Was it really abuse of power if you did something you regret later, on purpose at the time?
Take the case of a young rapper who wants to make it big. Inexplicably, Sean Combs became a powerhouse in the industry despite lack of real talent or ability as a performer or producer. Young man goes to one of his parties, gets turked by seven guys and lubed up by Puff Daddy. He puts up with it because he wants that career so badly and even pretends to like it, so he gets his record contract and is promoted. Technically he's a victim here, but... how much of one? There was no doubt that he was a weapon's grade douchebag, but by the end of the doc it seemed the message was that women are helpless. They have no decision making powers whatsoever it seemed. Not a great message.

Which is part of why Justin is so messed up right now, all of this Diddy stuff coming back up right when he was in a good place, finding God and having a kid. Also dated Jennifer Lopez near the height of her celeb hotness, both in looks and in career. There was a club shooting Diddy and Jen were both involved in in 1999, involving a police chase and finding a stolen gun in their car. Psychology Today has a new article out explaining that women who cheat are "trying to save their marriage" because they need your money, but they want the Paolo's junk. So it's a win-win for them. Not clear what the husband/cuck is getting out of it.
And it never would have happened if the man was being the Christ-like servant leader God called him to be in the marriage. So it's his failing, not hers. Posted by: No, I didn't make this up at July 02, 2025 12:39 PM (TbWk/) 168

Ace you don’t know the 1st f@cking thing about being the abused if you think free will plays any role in it. Posted by: CapeMayBartender at July 02, 2025 12:33 PM (srdeB) There's a difference between the vernacular use of "coerced" -- being psychologically pressured in to doing something with fame, money, "lifestyle", the power imbalance etc. and being legally coerced in to doing something. We can all agree Diddy's behavior was disgusting, but I think we can also all agree that it's not a crime to lavish women with gifts and get them in to clubs and give them money and expect sexual favors from them. That's... well, a lot of people would be in jail if that were illegal. And that legal standard would be brutal and unworkable. From the daily beast (yeah, I know):
"Moses “Shyne” Barrow is done faking nice with Sean “Diddy” Combs, finally claiming nearly 25 years later that the incarcerated ex-mogul set him up to take the fall for the 1999 Manhattan Club shooting, caused him to spend nearly a decade in prison, and “destroyed my life.” Combs and then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez were arrested immediately after the shooting for their alleged involvement, but the charges were ultimately dropped—and witnesses pinned the shooting on Barrow, who had also accompanied the couple to the nightclub. Barrow, who was signed to Diddy’s Bad Boy Records, now says that Diddy and J.Lo’s dropped charges were no accident. “I was defending [Diddy] and he turned around and called witnesses to testify against me,” Barrow told the press on Thursday, “and he pretty much sent me to prison.” The Grammy-nominated rapper-turned-politician denied any bitter feelings about his conviction for the shooting—saying in 2022 that “I blame [the conviction] more on the lawyers that were advising [Diddy]. Because his lawyers were there to secure a ‘not guilty’ verdict by any means." Posted by: LizLem at July 02, 2025 12:41 PM (gWBY1) 183

James Comey's daughter was one of the prosecutors in the US Attorney's Office. This pings my conspiracy theory radar. She also previously worked on the Ghislaine Maxwell case. I wonder if she was in there to do the dirty work of hiding the REAL crimes of these people, done by the elites and the swamp, while looking like she's trying to get them convicted.
Posted by: LizLem ------ Yep. Keep the rich and famous enjoying Diddy's parties out of the limelight and keep the role of the alphabet agencies in knowing and using Diddy as an asset. I am a bit bemused by the tone though that Diddy's wimmen had it coming and ignoring the fact that there was a whole host of uncharged conduct that Diddy did that ended up with him being convicted on Mann Act. Al Capone murdered, etc. a lot of people on his rise to the top but got convicted of tax evasion. Same with other scumbags--a lot of uncharged conduct gets punished by the jury via a simple charge easy to prove. Scumbags like Diddy, Gotti, or Capone attract other scumbags for fame and fortune who turn on them in court. That in part, is why the police love possession charges or felons with gun charges. No mens rea requirement. Posted by: whig at July 02, 2025 12:41 PM (ctrM5) 185

I don't think it has to be that complicated. 153 The jury sent a note complaining that one juror was not 'following the process'. I wonder if they are responsible for the confused results.
there was scuttlebutt that Combs appeared so confident because there was a plant on the jury, or someone he'd paid off. which is extremely plausible. there were witnesses who changed their minds about showing up to testify Posted by: kallisto at July 02, 2025 12:38 PM (dCxaZ) I believe on the first day of deliberations, the jury sent a note to the judge saying one of the, ahem, "Manhattanites" on the jury was a recent immigrant who seemed incapable of understanding the judge's instructions (presumably due to a language barrier). We were discussing the case in Idaho with the guy who killed those students the other day -- this is what I meant about you never know what you're going to get with a jury. Was that guy bought off, did he truly have no idea what was going on, was someone else on the jury just pissed? Who knows? But in federal court, the judges ask the potential jurors the questions, so presumably judge Arun Subramanian (a good Italian boy, by the sounds of it) would have filtered out anyone who literally didn't speak english. Obviously it pays to be rich. 😡 I suspect a less privileged person of color (even if innocent) would have been found guilty on all counts. Highly unlikely. A less privileged person of color would almost certainly never have been charged with Racketeering and Sex Trafficking. Classic case of over charging and I think they did it to make an example of a famous person that everyone already knew was a scumbag. that is a shame. it's clear there were force, fraud, and coercion as well as trafficking, with multiple witnesses and video evidence, and the fact that others were involved makes it racketeering. I dunno. You have to establish the boundaries of what constitutes criminal activity within a consensual relationship. I get there are a lot of abusive relationships based on threats. Hitting a person is obviously criminal and in fact I support lighting men who hit women on fire. But if you’re coming and going every day- why not just keep going? If there is no criminal abuse, you don’t get to come back later on and say well I was scared. You go. You get help. You buy a gun.

Diddler used his massive bank account and entertainment prestige as a hook and a club to keep his crew of willing sycophants hanging on and around. This power dynamic is baked into humanity. The kink with Diddler is he is a complete sexual pervert who used that power over his sycophants to attend to his every perversion. All of these people could have left at any moment and chose not to do that. There was no RICO conspiracy. There was no sex trafficking. What there was is a pile of weak people that willing let Diddler abuse and use them for years in exchange for money and to be let stand in the shadow of his celebrity. What was not willingly taken was the horrific beatings meted out to a few women who crossed him for which he is now headed to prison. As for the rest, his perverted narcissism is exposed to the world thus destroying his phoney importance. Living with the loss of that prestige will be his lifelong in prison. The jury got this thing just right.

Unpopular opinion, no doubt, but I think there's something akin to the Satanic Panic of the 80s going on with many trafficking allegations. The right seems to be on about this in much the same way that the left has been referring to older men hitting on younger women of legal age as grooming.
Posted by: bear with asymmetrical balls at July 02, 2025 12:58 PM (9FEtL) I agree. Here’s the cold truth. Women will do just about anything willingly for the right price.
Same with Harvey Weinstein. I doubt any of those women were really raped, it’s just they were willing to have sex with a really ugly guy in order to become a star. They might be bad people, but they aren’t rapists Posted by: Maroon at July 02, 2025 01:10 PM (v95o2) 370

I agree, although the responses are basically different sides of the same coin. I've said it many times here, but if I see something going on, I do not get involved. The risk is too great that I'll be the one getting in trouble. So I look the other way.

So he yanks the door open, pulls the guy out, the guy fights with the cop and they're both on the sidewalk going after it. Sex parties have been going on for a very long time, 5th century BCE. Also written about extensively by the Victorians. Nothing new, no new evil under the sun. I'd rather the Epstein johns went to trial than worry about Hollywood and the filthy music business. In both cases it's "not who you now but who you blow" and I can't fathom it being stopped, even though I'd like it to be. Even SHirley Temple was propositioned by producers.

Some of the dumbest people I've ever spoken to about politics in real life were loyal Republican voters at an election event.
Did you raise your pinky finger, sniff the air and cover your nose with your kerchief? The people who founded this country and those who fought our initial battles understood freedom and liberty. Those are ingrained in the American spirit. People can see and smell them even if they don’t have a base understanding of specific issues being discussed. I think it's safe to assume our political betters are mixed up in some seriously depraved shit. If this was strictly the entertainment/music industry's dirty laundry I don't think we'd have seen some of the high (politically connected) rollers involved with the case, professionally speaking.
Some digging needs dug. --------------- I strongly believe that. If it were only a "handful of degenerates" we wouldn't have a "Epstein issue" that we've known of for 2 decades YET have no real criminal convictions (that matter). We also wouldn't have the last regime importing literally tens of thousands of undocumented children they could intentionally "lose track of". Oldcat -
Sex parties have been going on for a very long time, 5th century BC. I suspect winters in the ice age were long and confining in the caves and probably led to a lot of babies being born in the fall. Much worse, later pagan rites often involved sex orgies, and the babies that were born, especially a first-born male child, were to be sacrificed to their god, often by “passing through the fire” to Moloch, confer the Moabites. If you aren’t eating, look up “Saturnine grin”. Posted by: NemoMeImpuneLacessit at July 02, 2025 01:45 PM (1paM0) 399

Now where's my hiking boots..... On a serious note, I wonder if they did the same screw-up as with the OJ trial. They were so anxious to avoid any appearance of racism that the judge, jury, and prosecutors were all DEI hires. The only non-DEI expert I remember was the defenses DNA expert who basically destroyed the prosecution's case. The OJ judge, Lance Ito was the same guy who screwed up the Junk Bond King (Milkin?) case which was eventually thrown out after the PB spent a few years in jail. Last I heard he was hearing night-time traffic court in Torrance. The prosecutor lady (forget her name) wrote a book which was basically several hundred pages blaming everybody else and her recent divorce and so forth...
