Trump Tours "Alligator Alcatraz;" Agrees to Let DeSantis Deputize National Guardsmen as Immigration Judges to Speed Up Deportations

The left is always complaining that we need judges to handle the huge wave of illegal third-world immigration they encourage.

Okay, how about National Guard soldiers sworn in to be immigration judges?

This is the kind of innovation in government I'm looking for.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday said he would approve Florida's plan to expedite deportations by having qualified National Guard members work as immigration judges.

Trump made the announcement during his visit to a new state-run immigration detention center in South Florida dubbed Alligator Alcatraz.

For months now, Gov. Ron DeSantis has sought the approval of the federal government to deputize Florida National Guard Judge Advocate General Corps. officers to act as immigration judges.

On Tuesday, Trump said he is in favor of the plan.

"He didn't even have to ask me. He has my approval," Trump said during a roundtable discussion at the immigration detention center in the Everglades.

DeSantis on Monday said having the National Guard work as immigration judges on site at the detention center could fast-track deportations.

On Tuesday, DeSantis said his goal was to cut through "bureaucracy."

Because the detention center is built on an old airstrip, DeSantis and others have also said it will speed up the deportation process by allowing the federal government to fly migrants out of the site.

Attorney General James Uthmeier, who was instrumental in the detention center's planning, said on social media Tuesday that it was a "one stop shop for immigration enforcement."

"Come in, get your 'process,' and fly out," Uthmeier said.

I love it. Unfortunately he's not talking about just making thousands of National Guardsmen judges, just Guardsman in the judge advocate corps. Lawyers, then.

This is outstanding:

The left is boohoo wailin' and gnashin' over this one.

3 And Biden sent the illegals collected from MV Island to a concentration camp.

It literally means a camp where you concentrate people.

Now socialists often kill people in concentration camps, but fortunately here Trump isn't one.

Oh and these people can always just volunteer to go home to leave right away...

13 If the left thinks these criminals are so great, why are they not taking them in, housing them, giving them their own food, buying them clothes, offering to pay for their healthcare, getting them jobs, stealing SSNs for them? Why do they believe the taxpayers should support them, when they believe these people deserve our charity?

They really can't see the difference between charity and taxation, can they? Nor can they understand that if someone is willing to break the law to get here, they are likely to break the law to stay.

I have no time for these bleeding heart, empty headed idiots until they have skin in the game.

The people detained there aren't being forced into hard labor.

Can someone change this fool's diaper and give him a bottle? It's a holding facility. Concentration camps as commonly understood were DEATH CAMPS. You were either worked to death, starved to death, or directly murdered by the people in the camp.

Yes, I know. There is some nuance between the work camps and the death camps run by the NAZIs. This facility is neither of those things. Additionally, hundreds of thousands of people died in those "work camps," so I don't really accept the difference anyway.

Posted by: sniffybigtoe at July 01, 2025 02:22 PM (oz2l0)

======

They are getting due process.

They're not being picked up off the street and put onto a plane. They're being held, brought before an IJ who asks for proof of their legal right to be in America. And when the illegal can't provide it, giving them final deportation orders.

The left isn't defining due process, of course. They're implying there is none. Their literal word choices say that they want more due process, implying something like a full jury trial to determine if people can stay.

And...the American people don't care. And they're going to continue to not care as crime rates go down (already happening), rent prices go down (already happening), and employment opportunities go up (already happening).

Haha. I thought it was a slightly tacky take on the Grace Kelly and Sofia Loren wedding dresses, like I said yesterday. But the libs are piling on it SO HARD, it's triggering my Oppositional Defiance Disorder tendencies, and I'm circling around to actually genuinely liking it.

The elements are all good! It's just trying to do too many things, is my problem. Like Coco Chanel said, take off ONE thing. Remove the buttons in the front, or the mermaid skirt, or the mixed lacework on the front, it would sing. But D&G decided to go OTT, bless them.

I think the left is creating a Streisand effect; they are ragging on it SO hard, that it's making it a buzzed about dress for years to come. Not their intent, but they're making her an icon.

Also, if she inspires a decade of classy sleeved wedding dresses, YES PLEASE. So many brides wear the wrong size of bust or strapless bra for their dress (or they lose too much weight before the day, and their boobs shrink and then fit poorly), and it always ruins the look. More sleeves please! And pockets while you're at it!

123 Illegals, by definition, are not citizens, and therefore do not enjoy the protections of the US Constitution. They are, however, subject to punishment under US law.

Sucks to be them. Too bad, so sad.
Posted by: tcn in AK at July 01, 2025 02:26 PM (1Gsou)

Pretty much everyone in the US gets the protections of the US Constitution, since those protections are there to stop the government from doing stuff, not as an affirmative (or positive) right for the people.

I am about as anti-immigrant as anyone, and I have no problem giving illegals due process. That due process is usually a very short hearing. I think that's fine, a 5-10 minute hearing before the final deportation order to make sure the person is really illegal and really has no legal right to be here.

The issue is that that has to be the limit of it -- "are you here illegally?" "yes, but --" "deported. Next case on the docket, please." You don't get a quasi trial designed to waste time.

American Internment Camps

Fearful of threats to homeland security, President Franklin Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066 on February 19, 1942. His order authorized the removal of “any or all persons” from areas of the country deemed vulnerable to attack or sabotage. Nearly 120,000 Japanese and Japanese Americans—two-thirds of them U.S. citizens—were forced from their businesses and homes. Most had only several days’ notice before they were relocated. They were held in internment camps in isolated locations for up to four years. Approximately 11,000 German nationals and 1,600 Italian nationals were arrested, with many interned.

NOTE: Two-thirds of them ^^ U. S. citizens.

Went and saw 28 Years Later in theatres. The popcorn bucket for M3GAN 2.0 is absolutely horrifying! The face rips off to show the robot face underneath. But the Jaws popcorn bucket was awesome.

Should have gone the Chucky route instead of Terminator. Horror fans don't want a bait and switch. If they want action, they want action. If they want horror, they want horror. I love mixing genres, but a true horror film needs to stay in its lane. (Ironically, I LOVE Godzilla minus one because it mashes historical fiction AND Kaiju. But they do it right.)

People are claiming the fear of AI turned people off from seeing M3GAN 2.0. I doubt it. They also tried to make M3GAN the doll a trans icon (gross), and I think that did FAR more damage.

Troy was actually going down to the Everglades several times over the past five or so years to catch boa constrictors, anacondas, and other invasive species, that have infested the area.

People let their exotic pets go and they all end up in the Everglades so Florida offers bounties for these big snakes.

I haven't watched it in a few years, but Landry was out there getting it done, coming back with bags full of 10, 15, 20 foot snakes.

It's all part of the plan of "spreading the wealth", increasing the consumer base, and driving down wages, brought to you by the ghouls in the US and European deep state.

From a completely sociopathic point of view, it makes perfect sense. Think about how many billions of people there are outside of the US and Europe who could also buy our Big Homo cars if only we grabbed some money from the middle class in the US and Europe and sent it overseas, OR just brought the overseas people to the US and Europe!

----
Right now, in IL, the ACLU is arguing that ICE must have a prior warrant, and present said warrant upon demand, prior to arresting or even detaining any illegal.

The judge is highly sympathetic and is certain to issue a nation wide injunction.

The basis being that some settlement agreement, where the government agreed to limit the use of general warrants against illegals, entered into years ago by neither this administration nor the current plaintiffs, over-rules and supersedes federal law.

If you don't understand how that Constitutional, it's because you didn't go to Harvard.

In part, Washington, D.C., April 8 – "Yesterday, a group of 23 nonprofit organizations published a report urging the United Nations to address the rapidly deteriorating human rights situation of non-citizens in the United States. The report was submitted to the UN Human Rights Council, which is scheduled to formally review U.S. policies and practices in November.

The participating organizations called out the U.S. government’s ongoing violations of non-citizens’ fundamental rights through mass detention, denial of due process, abusive and discriminatory policing, labor exploitation, and suppression of civic space."

Microsoft just cut thousands of American workers...yet they’ve already requested 14,181 more H-1B workers this year, and it’s only Q2.

If AI is the reason Americans are being let go, why are companies still asking for hundreds of thousands of foreign tech workers?

This is 100% true. Most of the people coming in on H1B's are doing low skill (entry level) white collar work while American kids can't find jobs.

They're willing to work for cheaper, but I think it's more than that. Why would Microsoft not say "hey, American kid, instead of laying you off, we'll pay you H1B wages?" I think most American kids would take that option over unemployment. Instead, they do mass layoffs then hire people from India to replace them at 70-80% of the American kids' salary.

And forming a class is made the more complicated by the fact that the forming itself is appealable and people can sue the ones forming the class because they don't want to be part of it.

Then watch bad faith, a lazy/ignorant/distracted electorate, and collapsed corrupted institutions and a useless political class just turn it upside down or ignore it.

The rot here is fundamental and seemingly universal, it's not just asylum law and policy.

Some progress can be made in some cases, depends. Military can hopefully be deloused of all the racism and other idiocy (maybe). But that's ironically the quickest/easiest institution to fix (see Truman's desegregation EO).

Not saying it can't be done, but fixing the letter of the law is about 15% of the struggle.

I can guess how this went for a lot of them. They heard that a black kid stabbed a white preppy and just knew it was self defense and for once the black man was gonna get justice and threw money at the case without even bothering to find out.

I say this, because they are having a hard time getting enough donations for a family night out at Red Lobster now: people found out what happened and went "well maybe this ain't what I thought it was"

421 The H-1B thing is as big and outrageous an outrage as the asylum abuse or even the open border. Quick insight into Musk's unworldliness (yes) was his idiotic, ignorant outburst on H-1Bs

30 years ago I worked on H-1B cases that got escalated all the way to the Senate, for direct intervention by senators with INS. You wouldn't believe them, I couldn't. Highly, highly specialized and skilled people who wouldn't "overstay" in a million years (European engineers and technical specialists supporting European-made equipment), with *the CEOs and general counsels* of the companies involved, begging for an H-1B.

THAT is what the H-1B program was meant to be. Unless the law has been enormously amended since then, most H-1B issuance today is outrageous and unlawful.

I'm not so pessimistic on that front; changing the law here would produce real results. At any rate, the law being changed is at least feasible at some level. I'm not so sure that people can be made less corrupt or opportunistic. If the plan to save the immigration system depends on a rebirth of civicmindedness or the like, we may as well just grant mass asylum and get it over with.

I was in Deland visiting my mom's grave years ago & it finally dawned on me I was probably looking at a coral snake inside the little fenced, wooded cemetery area.

I fled back to the church parking lot and just moments later, sirens went off because a plumber working nearby in the town had been bitten.

BTW, DeLand was one of only three hospitals in the US with the specific antivenom.

You did the right thing and exactly what I would have done (unless you were not screaming, I would be screaming).

We had "harmless" black snakes in FL on the Atlantic. I was more afraid of them than sharks. One as tall as me lived in our front hedge in the summers, forcing me to get the mail from the garage.

Florida blew my mind, and I hail from the deepest heart of the Deep South. I totally feared pythons in the toilet to finish me off one fine morning.

Crocodilia is an order of mostly large, predatory, semiaquatic reptiles, which includes true crocodiles, the alligators, and caimans; as well as the gharial and false gharial. A member of this order is called a crocodilian, or colloquially a crocodile.

The 9 genera and 28 species of Crocodilia are split into 3 subfamilies: Alligatoridae, alligators and caimans; Crocodylidae, true crocodiles; and Gavialidae, the gharial and false gharial.

472 306 Fun fact: New Zealand has no snakes. You'd think an island with crazy fauna like NZ has would be teaming with big-ass snakes. Nope.

Let me guess, something even more horrible ate them all? Or maybe the local bird population picked up the snakes and dropped them on people until they ran out? There are never positive sides to statements like that. There is always something worse in the details.

475 The great thing about Karmelo Anthony and his family blowing through all that money on temporary frivolities is that now he has that much less for his defense! He’s going to lose, by the way, because the county his trial is being held in doesn’t put up with any DEI nonsense. So you’re going down, Karmelo, your family’s going back to grifting, poor, and if you don’t repent (I sincerely pray that you would, wholly and completely) you are going to spend Eternity roasting in hell.

480 BTW, just to add more encouraging facts, the H-2A (seasonal ag worker) program is also abuse- and corruption-ridden. And remember that's the *legal* imported labor component of the problem.

The rest are just farmers and ag companies that go full retard and use illegal labor, routinely.

And Trump's emitting noises indicating ag will get special exemptions or treatment. Because of course ag "interests" are as patriotic, responsible, and civic-minded as the LA City Council - but hey they're Republicans! Big donors! "Conservatives"!!!

Fixing a third world country has never really been accomplished (OK, gray area cases like Singapore, British Hong Kong, maybe even El Salvador, Botswana). And fixing the US looks very much like fixing one of these places has always looked.

482 I was in Deland visiting my mom's grave years ago and it finally dawned on me I was probably looking at a coral snake in the little fenced, wooded cemetery area.
---
Saw one in my back yard the other day.
Shit's kinda freaky; second in toxicity only to the black mamba.

But, everything I've read/seen says they really, really prefer to run away and will only bite if mishandled.
Said also that only about 10% of the bites are envenomating.
90% are "MFer, leave me the F alone, will you?"

Another cool fact: they like to eat other snakes, specifically, the rough earth snake.
So, if you see little brown snakes, that's probably it's prey.

483 There was that story of some poor lady in Indonesia getting eaten by a giant python.

The husband went looking for his missing wife and sees a snake as fat as an alligator then realizes the worst has happened.

I guess when it comes to small women and children a big snake sees a big meal sometimes.

488 LOL. Pixar's Elio was originally GAY GAY GAY, but test audiences hated it. So the top brass changed it. But the audience yawned and it flopped. Now the GAY GAY GAY Pixar employees are lashing out because they wanted their "queer-coded" Elio released.

So Pixar's getting hammered from inside and from outside.

492 By the way, in today's update to cultural decay, New York City put up a big pink dildo in the city as a fountain that spurts out the tip when you spin nearby foot petals. It has mouths and lips and stuff all over it, and a foot at the end *wink wink* to claim its not just a dildo. Its like ten feet tall.

I don't mind someone creating something that looks like Eroll Otus would have drawn it, kids have been doing this for centuries with clay and play-do and whatever. I mind that the city decided to spend tens of thousands of dollars to buy and install it.

495 Pixar's Elio was originally GAY GAY GAY, but test audiences hated it.

What is funny is that in internal screenings people kinda liked it but not a single one said they would go see it in the theater. So they tried to fix it, but it still sucks and cost like 300 million to make.

The original director is a flaming homosexual, and in a jarring twist he insisted on filming a movie about a homosexual 11 year old boy. I know, right? So unexpected.
