Deer Lord Cafe

banffalbertatrain.jpg
Banff, Alberta
or possibly AI

"Pandas are just drunk people in costumes."

If I had the focus and patience of this German shepherd...

This dog, however, lacks focus.

Sus flamingos.

At night, stores let all of their baby goats run wild.

Flying in style.

Severance is on tonight.

Someone shows this dog some meat and it practically does the "floating through the air towards the smell of a pie" cartoon move.

When this bruiser tells you he wants some cheese, you give him some cheese.

Dog crossing guard. He probably gets picked on, like I did. Don't ask. It's still painful.

A woman is reunited with her emotional support dog after the dog had been missing for two years. (Or so the captain says.)

The archer fish hunts orc-flies.

So I guess people know this, but I didn't: How people practice the ski jump before they've got the skills to safely land. (IG)

Penguin family discussion.

Cat dreamatorium.

Do you make mock of me, Cat?

Blind and deaf dog takes a while to smell its owner, but then reacts as you might expect.

9 The sidebar link of a tune Rush used as bumper music, reminded me of the attempt by Chrissie Hind to stop El Rushbo from using the Pretenders' "My City was Gone" as his intro. Rush said, FU, here's a $100k past royalty check and then kept using it despite her annoyance by dutifully paying annual royalties. Now that's having FU money.

12 Going over today's events.

The very first job that Bondi and Patel were supposed to do is provide the Epstein files.

Now I know why Gaetz wasn't allowed to be AG - apparently Bondi is only accomplished at sternly written letters, and Patel is only good for sucking dicks as he gaslights America about how excellent the FBI is while SDNY is in outright sedition.

Bondi wants that evidence at 0800 tomorrow? Send some 'roided up goons from Alabama and Texas to beat those faggots and trannies in SDNY into providing them, not by writing a stupid letter with no teeth and no consequences for failure to act.

CORRECTION: I inadvertently reported that our NSA and CIA "intelligence" professionals were talking about "anal bleaching" in government checks while on the taxpayers' dime. In fact, they were discussing "butthole lasers."
"Butthole lasers" may be used for anal bleaching, but also for anal fistulas.
Laser treatments for the anus and rectum can be used for a variety of conditions, including hemorrhoids, fissures, and fistulas. Laser treatments can also be used for hair removal and anal bleaching.

I apologize to all "intelligence" professionals I maligned. I regret the error and vow to do better in the future.

You gonna be handing out fanfold info sheets that summarize this and provide links to info sites on anal health when you stroll in here around noon, tomorrow, ace?

51 The boys at RedLetterMedia recommended "The King Tide", about a foundling baby rescued from a boat wrecked on the shore of an isolated island off Labrador. The girl has the power to heal, which the islanders have grown to take for granted over the years. Now, the girl has lost her magical healing touch and the natives are getting angry.

I like it so far, very bleak and beautiful scenery and a sense of quiet unease is building.

I just watched all of it last week.
It was good at first but then got weaker and weaker as it went along.

And there's just some things I don't get, like they had to cut some material and left some important stuff out.

For instance, how is the black guy made an all-important "Wallfacer" when the dude did two things the entire show; come up with one or two insights into a problem that nobody thought about, and smoking a bowl while looking pensive.
How is this guy going to come up with humanity's plan to save the planet? Did I miss something?

Why couldn't they just call the alien home star "Proxima Centauri" which is the only star four light years away in a trinary star system? It's the closest star to us, why didn't they just say that?

I agree, trains have run on it for decades, and its a great concept. Straight EV is a mistake, but a gas motor to keep your batteries topped up, that makes sense. Hybrids well better than EVs.

141 >> Diesel Electric is not a bad concept. I was looking at putting a genset and an electric engine into a toyota pickup

It’s extra complexity, with few benefits. Plug-in hybrids have been around for years, giving some electric range while being able to fall back to gas for longer range.

Or you could just have a fully ICE vehicle and not need to worry about batteries and motors, in addition to the ICE powertrain. An ICE/EV hybrid is just the worst of both worlds.

Except motors provide torque and adds power so that the engine itself can be smaller with less reciprocating mass and thus use less fuel.

The ICE by itself is underpowered and can't quickly get up to highway speeds, but the motors kick in for acceleration and passing.

Gets rid of a transmission and the engine can be tuned for a very narrow band of power thus increasing its efficiency in the same way that 8+ speed transmissions allow modern engines to have a tighter power/efficiency curve.

An ICE is not a cheap way to generate electricity.

As for the transmission, you’re getting rid of a relatively mature, reliable piece of tech and replacing it with a heavier battery pack, plus motors.

If you have to faff around with emissions and fuel economy, then a genset and electric motor make sense, the genset can run at an efficient range for emissions, the electricity can be buffered through a fairly small battery pack, and the electric motor can either take up the varied speeds, or you can put in a three speed transmission if you are picky about it.

ideal is ICE, but remember, government is what we do to each other.
