Trump Makes Standard-Issue "Chickenhawk" Argument Against Liz Cheney, Saying She Blithely Sends Out 10,000 Men To Face Death But Won't Face the Fire Herself;
CNN and Jonah Goldberg Claim He's Calling for Her Execution by Firing Squad

behonestonwar.jpg

Mollie
@MZHemingway

"He's saying quite explicitly and unambiguously that Liz Cheney should be shot, should be executed by firing squad." -- the absolutely broken and self-hating @JonahDispatch, lying BRAZENLY about what was said.

He's not "self-"hating, Mollie. That would imply he's a conservative.

He's not and never has been. He has always been a liberal who grifted the conservative establishment for millions, and that's an easy game, because the conservative establishment itself has always been liberal, except for the One Thing That Matters -- lowering taxes on the liberal billionaires who funded the conservative establishment.

His entire "conservative" life he was controlled opposition -- no, that still implies he opposed the left.

He was controlled opposition, against us.

Good point:

Glenn Greenwald
@ggreenwald
Trump is saying what every liberal pundit and DNC operative I know was saying for 15 years -- from 2001 until 2016 -- about the Cheneys, neocons, and warmongering.

But now that liberals are aligned with those people, they claim it's a threat of execution to say it

The liberals smeared all war supporters as "chickenhawks" -- now they're pretending it's threatening Liz Chebey with death to call her a chickenhawk.

Trump responded to the newest Fake Outrage Propaganda Attack:

Jonah's also spreading disinformation about JD Vance.

Yesterday, I pointed out a liberal who claimed Vance was telling a false "weird story" about having to defend his home from possible assassins after Trump was shot, claiming that Vance was only a "junior senator" and thus under no threat.

I pointed out to this ignorant media c*nt that Trump was shot on July 13th, and Vance was announced July 15th, and was widely known to be at the top of the last four candidates for the VP. Vance himself already knew he was the pick.

Look how Jonah parrots this claim from this leftwinger -- and then adds his own made-up bullshit: Vance must have abandoned his children at the mini-golf course when he ran like a coward to board himself up in the house. He parrots the "weird story" language, and then the "junior senator" lie.

Just a junior senator? He had just been chosen to be Trump's VP!

jonahgoldbergaccuesvanceofabandoninghischildren.png

Vance never said he left his kids at the mini-golf course. This fat, disgusting cowardly semi-man is just making this slur up out of whole cloth.

Maybe because it's what he would do -- if he were nasty enough spawn children from his wretched DNA.

David French Cuckdate: He says that it's okay to lie about Trump calling for a firing squad, because you can bang on the table and make his real quote sound bad, too, so what's the diff?

David French
@DavidAFrench

Trump's defenders say he's not referring to a firing squad. Does that make his remarks acceptable?

Not even close. Even if he "only" wanted his opponent -- whom he calls "very dumb" and also wants to put in front of a military commission -- to be at the receiving end of hostile fire, we’re confronting inexcusably malicious political language.

A friend named Fred (not his real name) writes:

Did you notice that Jonah yesterday completely invented out of thin air that JD Vance fled a mini-golf park *without* his kids, leaving them there, to rush to the safety of his home after he found out Trump was shot? No one can find this claim made by anyone, anywhere.

What Vance said, and has been corroborated by witnesses (with tweets and timestamps at the time!) was that he scooped up his kids, rushed home, and loaded his guns.

He apparently just completely made up the leaving the kids at the park part.

The tweet he's quoting doesn't say that.

And in addition to that, Vance already knew he was both being considered for VP, and Trump already hinted to him that he was likely the pick. This was two days before the announcement. Why wouldn't you think you were a possible target when you find out the president was just shot?

I just scanned his feed and when he's not trying to avoid criticism by chain-posting pictures of his dog, he's now defending the Biden economy, claiming it's always been stronger than Trump's.

He also stepped in a whole new pile of shit this morning about the Liz Cheney bullshit, that he issued an "apology" (where he naturally blames mostly everyone else) for getting the story wrong.

This Vance one actually really does piss me the fuck off. Fine, lie about Trump. We're all used to it. But he's suggesting a father of young children got scared and just took off and abandoned his young children? What the fuck is this? Who says shit like this?

Update: Rich Barris says that the factoid that women are voting 10% ahead of men is a week old, and the gap has narrowed since then:

Still: Let's get out there and make Jonah Goldberg finally get an actual job, huh?

NeverTrump will lose their funding if they lose this election.

Fact Check: Voters can only vote once in every election. A recent social media post has taken a data report that included formatting errors to incorrectly claim that individual voters were casting multiple ballots in this election.

The error has been identified and corrected. Each of these voters only had one vote recorded for this election.

29 All Trump needs to do, is ask for volunteers to deal with the Lying Media.

No need to harm the media. Just assign each of them "one of us" as a personal, armed editor, insuring that their lies don't make it onto airwaves or print, until the lies have been stripped out and the Whole Truth is being told.

All through the Trump 2nd term. Drill them on Who, What, Where, How and sometimes, Why. Basic Reporting, 101.

MAYBE by the end of four years, a FEW of them might regain some pride as professionals, and be allowed to carry on w/ minimal supervision.

The rest, we issue spoons and they learn to dig ditches.

Yeah this is such a non story. It humanizes Vance, which is why they need to spin it.

Vance got a call that Trump had been shot the day Trump told Vance that he was going to announce Vance was his VP candidate. Vance did not have secret service protection yet.

Vance said he grabbed the kids, drove them home, locked all of the doors, loaded his gun and stood "like a sentry" at his door because he didnt know what was going on, and at that time he thought Trump had been killed and was scared.

Which is not an unreasonable reaction with the info he had at the time.

71 This is an excellent maneuver by Trump.

Our base instinct as humans is to be drawn to the strongest side, typically the side that either acts first in a violent manner or can command violence. In 2020, Trump had lost that ability as the specter of the riots hung over the population -- it's why the Dems tolerated and coordinated the violent action in the streets.

Think back to 2016 during Brexit -- just before the vote, someone shot some anti-Brexit Labour London MP on the street. There was doom and gloom that this would negatively affect the vote. In actuality, this crystallized the movement. If you are willing to use violence, to kill for your movement, you appeal to the base instincts and you reinforce your support. This is common throughout all of human history.

Did he mean to inspire violent action? Maybe, maybe subliminally. This in itself appeals to the population, especially young men.

Don't forget, men are engineered by God to do three things: to kill, to fuck, and to build.

This kind of deceptive edit is literally named a “Rupar” after its most enthusiastic practitioner.
Joe Walsh @WalshFreedom 6h
Trump did NOT call for Liz Cheney to be executed.
This is what’s so wrong with our politics today. Look, you know how I feel about Trump, and I’ve been out there every day for 2-3 months campaigning my ass off to help get @KamalaHarris elected, but this short clip is so deceptive. Trump is NOT calling for Liz Cheney to be executed in front of a firing line. He’s not. Listen to the entirety of what he said. In Trump’s typically stupid, ugly fashion, he’s trying to make a point about Cheney’s stance on war. But Aaron (who I like & respect), by posting ONLY this 11 second clip, makes it look like he’s calling for her to be executed. He’s not. He’s an utterly horrible human being who’s utterly unfit for office, but the truth should always matter. And the truth is that Trump is not calling for Liz Cheney to be executed. But…this 11 second clip will have a gazillion views, and the truth will have just a handful of views.

It's literally all Rupar ever does.

I have no factual numbers but to my untrained eye, it looked like 50/50 split in gender when we early voted on Tuesday . And Mr. Jen and I were assigned an early voting location not in our rural Township, but in the middle of a large suburban area with lots of housing developments. Michigan continues with early voting until Sunday at 5 o’clock. Then nothing on Monday poles open Tuesday morning.

I was thinking about this the other day. I contend that actors are carnies with better public image. Most of them are poorly educated. Most of them are chock full of drugs. Most of them are very poorly paid. Most of them have mind-numbingly dull jobs. They are the public facing representative of old, badly assembled, rickety machines that are dangerous to the public.

207 A lot of us initially bought into the wars because we believed the things we were being told. There was also a tremendous surge of patriotism after 9-11 which helped. We won the wars they asked us to fight rather quickly. Then people like Cheney stepped in to change the mission and make them forever wars. That led to mission creep and the 20 plus years of war we experienced. They own it because they led it, propagandized it and funded it over all other things. All the men and women who needlessly died during that period after we accomplished the initial objectives are on their head and jackasses like Jonah who supported it. Trump is 100% right and I haven’t seen a person yet who disagrees. That is except Flop sweat Jonah and his friends

I mean, it's less useful now since a significant number of people have already voted.
Posted by: Harry Paratestes

Actually polling becomes better if you choose to use the EV results to guide likely voter sampling. Can get more costly though as you have to call more people to get results unless you throw EV (which you can actually check to see if voted) and absentee/election day sampling. Math and logistics get complicated that way.

At least in my swing state, the Trump campaign called regarding whether we had early voted yet (we had earlier that day) and then they asked if we voted for Trump.

So I think in swing states at least, the campaigns have a pretty good idea of who is early voting and who is not.

218 167. When you go to early vote, the first station at the poll scans your drivers license or state ID which has an identifier bar code on it. you also sign a voter card. Then you moved to station two which again takes your drivers license scans it again that goes into a computer program that then prints the appropriate individualized ballot for you, which includes your particular races for County and Township. You then take your ballot and go fill it out put it in a secrecy envelope and head to station number three .that station looks at the top of your ballot and at your Voter signature card you signed at station one to make sure you have the correct ballot which have a number that coordinates to your location .Once that is confirmed they send you off to go feed the ballot into the tabulator yourself.

234 You then take your ballot and go fill it out put it in a secrecy envelope and head to station number three .that station looks at the top of your ballot and at your Voter signature card you signed at station one to make sure you have the correct ballot which have a number that coordinates to your location .Once that is confirmed they send you off to go feed the ballot into the tabulator yourself.

Dang. In NC, you fill out your ballot and then walk over to the tabulator machine and push it in. The poll worker reminds you to wait until the tabulator prints out the receipt. You take it and off you go. No "secrecy" envelope.

236 A Statement From 60 Minutes

Former President Donald Trump's repeated claims against 60 Minutes are false.

• The interview was not doctored; and

• 60 Minutes did not hide any part of Vice President Kamala Harris's answer to the question at issue.

60 Minutes fairly presented the interview to inform the viewing audience, and not to mislead it. The lawsuit Trump has brought today against CBS is completely without merit and we will vigorously defend against it.

Well, I'm glad we got that settled.

238 Even if women are out voting men in early voting, by 10%, the number by itself means nothing. Thuggery always out vote men in early voting, so even though they're +10% that might be down from past years.

The fact there Kamala Twitter accounts are grasping at these things makes me believe that A) the numbers are bad compared to 2020 and 2016, and B) they know they're losing.

Based on what they're doing in Bucks County PA, they are showing their desperation, as they're getting sloppy and not hiding their attempts at voter suppression.

243 >>> 207 A lot of us initially bought into the wars because we believed the things we were being told.

We had a 1.8 trillion dollar deficit last fiscal year which we borrowed about 1/3 of the budget. Not sustainable whether Trump or Kamala is head honcho as it will shortly introduce a sovereign debt crisis when no one wants to buy Fed paper without a stiff hike in interest rates. Then comes the crash in the stock market and trade in collectibles etc.

Biden deficits are about 7.5 trillion and Trump's was about 6 trillion (over half from covid year 2020-3.3 trillion). We have run out of runway to continue and something gotta give and few people actually vote for defense spending compared with social benefits. Reason why Europe's defense spending collapsed.

308 Nate Silver makes an interesting point All the polls are saying the same thing. It’s a tie. Statically polls should have a wide variance. He’s saying the pollsters are taking the safe way out and saying it’s a tie, that way if it’s close they can all say they were right regardless who wins.

I would say the same about Nate Silver.

I think final prediction was 54:46 odds for a Trump win?

That's basically close enough to where if he's wrong either way, he can't get too much shit.

But considering his audience and his obvious political biases, I tend to think he had a bigger incentive to put his finger on the scale for Harris than he would the other way around.

No, we sail into a constitutional crisis because all state compacts must be approved by Congress prior to being created. This one wasn't and a mere compact cannot circumvent federal law and the Constitution because of the Supremacy Clause. Fedgov still has the final say over how federal officers are elected --states can only manage the time, place, and manner of elections which may not include extending the vote past the federal election date (see 5th Circuit ruling this week).

More to the point, the Constitution (and federal law itself) still gives state legislatures ultimate control over the award of electors. A state leg can even set aside the slate of electors that the voters and the SoS have apparently chosen if they wish.
