6 Evening and morning to all the early risers and late toilers on this consummation devoutly to be wished! Aka "Friday."

Somehow -- I set the alarm and everything, and it worked just now when I tested it -- somehow the alarm didn't go off and I *overslept* by an hour. Canyabelieve it??? A shame, since I can't exercise now. No, really; I was looking forward to my workout today. It was getting breezier and north-windish yesterday evening, actually drier. A shame to waste that.

Anyway, what's happening? How are things in the hurricane's path?

Pressure is 29.34" here and falling (0.23" over last 3 hours). Wind not too bad, had a 30 mph gust just a few minutes ago, but sustained wind (6' above ground level) not that bad, peaking at 18 mph so far (and not too long at that level).

Ah, well, at work I've got to walk a ways to the mailroom this morning for a package (for myself). That'll be a mild workout in itself.

42 HP is adding AI to its printers.

OK HP, you don't seem to grasp it so let me help you. Here's what we want in a printer:

1. Affordability. Generally speaking, you have that covered.
2. The ability to use ink from any company and not have our printer stop working because we aren't using your brand.
3. The ability to print in black and white even when we run out of one of the other colors.

The fact you cannot grasp this leads me to believe that your sales team is basically bots that don't quite understand people.

96 Tis indeed Friday here in the Adirondacks. Last night was downright chilly, nearly a frost night. Oak trees are beginning to drop leaves and more fall signs are showing in the maples.

Once again, may all your effort today be greatly beneficial and may the leftwits among us suffer great consternation.

99 And another hymn by Charles Tindley who had some big troubles in his life. (Take Your Burden to the Lord) and "Leave it There" Orchestral Music and Lyrics

And that's what I am going to do today.

Prayers for the people in the storm and others with big burdens today. May the Lord lead you out:

102 The vulnerability is in CUPS. Which is installed and active by default in most distros of Linux because they're trying to be all things to all people (print clients and print servers). Send the right kind of UDP packet to a CUPS server and you can execute arbitrary code as root. Yeah, it's bad.
