Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Apalachee High School Shooter Was a "Known Wolf" on the FBI's Radar for a YearTwo teachers and two students are dead after a 14-year-old psychopath shot up a Georgia school. One tiny bit of good news: The "School resource officer," that is, an armed cop posted at the school, was able to quickly apprehend the psychopathic murderer before he could kill more people. The left will of course downplay this fact as it continues agitating against armed good guys at schools. They oppose this common-sense measure precisely because it works -- if there's a solution that works that isn't universal gun confiscation, they automatically oppose it, so that there is no policy to compete with universal gun confiscation.
The psychopathic scumbag had made threats against the school previously -- but for some reason was never prosecuted for making terroristic threats. I blame this on the left, which is determined to never put a student into the "school to prison pipeline," as they call justice for young evil sociopaths, because criminals are Democrats and Democrats protect their vile constituents and allow them to murder non-criminals. The FBI has admitted that Colt Gray, the 14-year-old suspect in the deadly shooting at Apalachee High School Wednesday, had been previously known to its agency for making school shooting threats in 2023. Gray, who killed four people on Wednesday, had denied the threats at the time, and no further action was taken after his interview. Key Details: Colt Gray, the suspect in Wednesday's shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia, had been investigated by the FBI in 2023 over online school shooting threats. Gray was 13 at the time and denied the allegations, leading authorities to take no further action, though schools were alerted to monitor him. Gray surrendered immediately after the shooting, which killed two students and two teachers. He will be charged with murder as an adult. ... Colt Gray, the 14-year-old suspect in the Apalachee High School shooting, was previously investigated by the FBI after receiving anonymous tips in 2023 about school shooting threats. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office identified Gray as a potential suspect at the time and questioned both him and his father. While Gray denied making any threats, and no probable cause was found to take further action, local schools were advised to keep him under watch.Oh, and of course Democrats oppose reform school and juvenile detention for young offenders, too. Parents...nothing about the parents. Such as, were the parents involved in the FBI's interview of this kid? Did they know it even took place...allowing them to make sure the kid had no access to firearms.
Or was this just another example of the parents being left in the dark about what transpires in the school halls. That seems like a relevant question. If they did know about the interview and did nothing to punish junior...such as removing all access to firearms...then I'm pissed at them as well. One of the distinctive things about Blue jurisdictions is that they don't enforce the gun laws on the books. How is this possible? Either Gray was not the one who made the online threats and his interview by the FBI is what put the idea of shooting into his head, he was very computer savvy, enough to cover his identity, or the FBI did not even make enough effort to track down the actual computer used to make the threats to get probable cause. The first and third possibilities are entirely unacceptable, they mean that FBI and probably GBI as well bear a good bit of responsibility for this shooting. To support the funding for a new FBI headquarters, the Biden administration proposes setting up a Federal Capital Revolving Fund. Under this proposal, Congress would appropriate the total amount of money needed for the project upfront. You drop an active shooter regardless. You don't know if his gun didn't jam or he ran out and is switching to a backup. If he's breathing, he's a threat.
Posted by: rickb223 ======= In today's litigious society, it does not work that way. Even police are bound by if the person no longer represents an immediate threat, then you must stop shooting. People get into trouble and even prison for not heeding that. Plus, something that a lot of people never think of is what happens if you must shoot someone you know. The school resource officer probably knew the kid and that could have made it harder to pull the trigger on him even if he was a threat. Similar self defense issues exist if the target is a female, young, or a family member (often drugged up or insane) that presents a lethal threat to you or someone you love. Self defense requires thinking about those things in advance--now more than ever. Posted by: whig at September 05, 2024 12:35 PM (kW+z9) 128

At this point, that's the only theory that makes sense. Almost every time one of these goes down, the FBI had already been involved. Big Tech companies drive the economy, and with them the fortunes of the three-fifths of Americans invested in the stock market. About 60 per cent of the S&P 500’s gains for the year have been driven by just five tech companies – Nvidia, Microsoft, Meta, Amazon and Alphabet (the parent company of Google). Altogether, seven tech stars, adding Tesla and Apple, account for a remarkable 30 per cent of the index’s total value, a domination almost unprecedented in market history. https://tinyurl.com/mtxxayd4 Posted by: Archimedes at September 05, 2024 12:48 PM (xCA6C) 210

You can have a teensy tiny amount of body fat and still be considered obese." My daughter went to school with a guy who went on to become a NY fashion model. He appeared in some magazine I bought for her with something like 100 other male models. I looked carefully at all these male models (no homo) because I'm into health and fitness and nutrition and stuff and noticed one consistency... They all weighed 2.5# per inch of height. Nah ace, it's not "their" pyscho idiots, it's any psycho idiot. They have a "principled" (based on stupidity, and a varying mix of unknown motives) stance about "school to prison pipeline".
I know it's sort of a dumb question, but does almost anyone know the relevant parts of the story on the Parkland thing in FL years back? The actual, relevant story? Not just the pathetic cowardly LE part. The part about the actual federal DOJ and local idiotic Dem officials being involved in a program that specifically kept the shooter out of the "pipeline", *AND* enabled him to legally obtain firearms? It's an unbelievable horror show. And, of course, zero accountability or consequence or learning curve or anything.

The part about the actual federal DOJ and local idiotic Dem officials being involved in a program that specifically kept the shooter out of the "pipeline", *AND* enabled him to legally obtain firearms? It's an unbelievable horror show.
Posted by: rhomboid ======= Yes, I know a bit about it. Basically the DOJ threatened to sue schools (and awarded compliant ones grants) to stop misbehaving kids from being in the alleged pipeline to prison. Trayyvon was one of that sort as well. So the idea is that we let students do criminal behavior in the schools but do not let the juvenile justice system charge them for their assaults, felony thefts, drug selling, etc. Instead, the schools promised to act as social workers for these 'yutes' to keep them out of prison and 'divert' them from the juvenile justice system. That metastasized into a cancer in public schools regarding law and order. Then you also have the untouchable ones that are privileged by being part of the Democrat pro criminal elements in far too many local and state governments. It is really bad out there in many schools today. Posted by: whig at September 05, 2024 01:08 PM (kW+z9) 343

Gray, who killed four people on Wednesday, had denied the threats at the time, and no further action was taken after his interview.
Most people have no idea how common these threats are. My wife's school has at least a couple a year. I'm not counting idle threats either. These kids are often disturbed AND have access to guns. Over tens of thousands of schools, I wouldn't be surprised at all if there are over 100,000 of these credible threats a year. The core problem, in my opinion, is the idea that kids have a "right to education." You'll hear this from school Administrators and District Administrators all the time. Kids with all sorts of oppositional defiant disorders and other violent pathologies are still integrated in school. My wife was hit three times in the chest yesterday by one of these little fucks. He's a transfer from another school and according to that other school, he has a perfect record. A previous school from two years ago tells a different story. He has many MANY incidents of striking teachers and administrators. Posted by: bonhomme at September 05, 2024 01:15 PM (Odg76) 372

Posted by: bonhomme ===== Most state constitutions, if not all, include a right to a free public education. This muddle is what happens when you make something that is really a 'privilege' in a legal sense into a positive 'constitutional' right. Our US Constitution is based on negative rights that are largely self enforcing if you keep government from violating them via the courts. The idea of positive rights is that you compel others to provide you with some good, or service regardless of how bad or good you are. Negative rights can survive that test because it is government that is restrained from harming the individual without due process of law. Doesn't work when a government is required to provide a free, fair, and adequate public education. That requires taxpayers, regulatory apparatus to ensure the free, fair, and adequate, and so on to provide that 'right'. Doesn't work. Posted by: whig at September 05, 2024 01:29 PM (kW+z9) 393

Posted by: barbarausa at September 05, 2024 12:43 PM (enw9G) I remember a period where I lost a bit of weight to get the BMI down and then they just changed the BMI levels so that they were still bad. Look, dude, the boiling point of water doesn't change just because a bureaucrat issues a new directive. Posted by: Oldcat at September 05, 2024 02:05 PM (n7h9X) 395
I imagine a lot of 'climatologists' who predicted the 'worst hurricane season ever' are frantically sticking voodoo pins into a map of west Africa right about now.

Funny. It works to have an armed government agent around your children all day.

Got out of Infantry OCS at 6'2", 205. Jump school was a breeze. But I was overweight, according to current tables.
My father was all-conference end, UConn, , '42. 6'1 (and a half, he liked to say), 185. Took him six months of Infantry combat to get down to a healthy weight. Posted by: Richard Aubrey at September 05, 2024 05:54 PM (dkH95) 399
10,000 quatloos that the perp was driven insane by an SSRI antidepressant. Some people cannot properly metabolize SSRI drugs, and they build up to dangerous levels. The Big Pharma medical establishment recommends increasing the dosage if the patient has problems.
