Sylvester Stallone Reveals: I Survived an Abortion Attempt

Guy's been fighting since he was the size of an egg.

Sylvester Stallone, the star and writer of Rocky, shocked his daughters during an interview on their podcast when he mentioned that his mother tried to abort him.
His daughters, Sophia and Sistine, interviewed him on their podcast, Unwaxed, about the documentary, "Sly," which tells Stallone's life story. He started talking about his childhood in a home where "everybody was extremely unhappy with who they were."
He said his mother and father "were not parents" and not interested in raising children. Sistine said that she noticed in the documentary that he mentioned that his mother was nervous to have him, and she asked if he ever felt unwanted as a child.
He said that he felt hesitant sharing the story, but that his mother would regularly tell him "The only reason you're here is because the hanger didn't work." She also told him, "If there was really something wrong with your brain," she would have left him near an open window to freeze to death, "because I'd be doing you a favor."

He clarified that he was not joking.

A botched abortion attempt with a hanger would have very low probability of the birth of a baby without severe problems. Yup. The timeline means that if it's true, it was a "back alley" thing. That isn't necessarily surgical. I *strongly* suspect that it usually wasn't. Abortifacients have been a thing since man came down out of the trees. Some work and some don't, some are reliable and some aren't.

But even if it's just something she told him, that is a strong indicator that if she *could* have, she *would* have.

Wow, that is a horrific thing to have to live with. All I remember about his mom, which I've seen in some pics over the years after he got famous, was her very weird look. Mass amounts of makeup. Scary face.

To have those words from your own mother hanging over your head your entire life would mess up a lot of people. Sylvester Stallone has always struck me as having his head and shoulders on pretty level. What a thing to live with.

82 I have a friend that was 15 when she conceived. We went to different high schools and we met through mutual friends when were about 20 or so. Her parents raised her son and she was always his older sister. I did not know any different until we were in our 40s and she told us.
I knew her parents well and was pretty close to them after she moved off to California since they lived in our neighborhood. Amazingly close family and I still wonder when Jason found out.

take Arizona for example...they require proof of citizenship to REGISTER to vote but do not even require any such proof to actually VOTE, that is why they want so much mail-in voting. Checking a box is good enough.
All states are supposed to offer voter registration when issuing driver's licenses. In Texas that only requires checking a box on the form declaring your are citizen. Used to be you had to show birth certificate.

Like My Mother.. She came over from Sweden with her mom and Sister when she was 3. My Grandmother had a sponsor for work. in Minnesota... Rocky III is when the series went from being "real," more serious films to pure cheezy 80s entertainment. III and IV are probably my favorites for that reason. Great one-liners, comically bad but awesome villains, and they are so non-woke they're anti-woke. Just pure stupid combat machismo with enough eye candy and family-oriented themes to keep the girls interested.

As for me, I eat butter, not margarine. I avoid statins. I do nnot have Alzheimers. The vast majority of cholesterol in thee body is non-dietary. True hypercholesterolemia and hyperlipidemia are incredibly rare in the pediatric population, as is Alzheeimer's. I have no first hand experience treating either.

She never forgave him for that. He never believed that younger boy was his son. After the divorce uncle had a relationship with the two older kids but not the younger. my husband has some kind of gullible vibe going - he always calls ME in to question quotes and stuff. esp with mechanics I am tough. those guys - in PA I think it's worse than other places - they will rip you off. we have kids with cars and EVERYBODY needed inspections over the summer and in EVERY case you get basically extorted by the shops. some states they have a system run by the govt to get inspected which is actually way better. here it's just independent shops and this is how they make most of their revenue. they won't "pass" you if you don't get all the things they can come up with done! we had two out of four where I had to make them give me back the cars and take them to get a second opinion.

it's very frustrating around here and by now I actually know what the things you need to pass for inspection are here in PA and I question anything else. rrrrr

anyway point being it's attitude more than sex. I am very combative in certain situations lol. my husband is NOT and fears conflict. so HE needs ME. (also, I'm Italian)

406 I'm honestly dumbfounded at why Woo isn't given more credit on this site. Literally every American action movie, from every big American director, is ripped off from Woo's HK films. There would be no modern action movies without John Woo.

Eh, John Woo had his moment, and then he didn't.

It happens.

Part of that is that when I started watching Woo in the 90's with his HK action flicks, almost no one knew who he was or had seen those movies. You had to go to Chinese video tape places to rent those movies.

Like Stephen Chow. Man, that guy was hilarious. But, who knew here in the states until "Shaolin Soccer".

Woo became known retroactively to lots of folks after, he was working in Hollywood.

By that time, he was just another guy doing John Woo stuff in action movies.

412 I had my son when I was 17. I had a friend drive me to the abortion clinic and was in there, about to pay for it but changed my mind. He's 37 today, happily married to a lady with 2 kids of her own. I was a single mom for 12 years - never took welfare of any kind and worked my tail off to afford him and myself. The high school I was attending kicked me out when they found out I was pregnant so I had to get a GED. It all worked out and God made a path for my family and myself. Needless to say I'm pro life - everyone should get a chance to live.
