Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Is Kamala Harris an Open Public Alcoholic? The answer is "yes," as anyone who has watched videos of her slurring and giggling her way through post-three-martini-lunch appearances. I'm glad this is getting some traction. If someone can't wait until five-thirty PM to get sloshed, they're certainly not going to be ready for the fabled three AM call.
Vice President Kamala Harris's speech Friday was an opportunity to get specific with voters about how a Harris presidency would manage an economy that many feel is not working well for them. Unfortunately, instead of delivering a substantial plan, she squandered the moment on populist gimmicks. ... One way to handle it might be to level with voters, telling them that inflation spiked in 2021 mainly because the pandemic snarled supply chains, and that the Federal Reserve's policies, which the Biden-Harris administration supported, are working to slow it.Three years later and these supply chains are still "snarled"? Here's the real explanation: Due to a two year lockdown, the public's appetite for spending was already high. Demand was already very high. Biden, in accordance with standard Democrat Marxist economic "policy," looked for any plausible reason to disburse public monies to Democrat constituencies and interest groups. He claimed he needed to "stimulate" demand -- which was already high -- by flooding the world with greatly devalued dollars. Demand was already artificially high due to the lockdowns and then he juiced demand again by spamming out trillions in debased dollars. That's why we have and continue to have inflation. Not because there were some supply chain interruptions in 2021. Anyway: The vice president instead opted for a less forthright route: Blaming big business. She vowed to go after "price gouging" by grocery stores, landlords, pharmaceutical companies and other supposed corporate perpetrators by having the Federal Trade Commission enforce a vaguely defined "federal ban on price gouging." Never mind that many stores are currently slashing prices in response to renewed consumer bargain hunting. Ms. Harris says she'll target companies that make "excessive" profits, whatever that means. (It's hard to see how groceries, a notoriously low-margin business, would qualify.)Even the Washington Post is rejecting the "greedy corporations" Marxist pandering. But I wanted to link this story for another sign of Kamala's public insobriety: She actually didn't blame inflation on "price gouging." She blamed inflation on... "price gauging," whatever that is. Two villains that are rarely identified in the inflation mess are Cable News "historians" Michael Beschloss (no advanced history degree, IIC) and John Meacham, who encouraged the President with an obvious progressive dementia to spend money (print money) because they believe the left wing conventional wisdom that FDR spent the U.S. into prosperity with WWII defense production. It's literally two idiots (one with a history degree) in White House meetings goading Biden to become the next FDR and to be a "more consequential" President with a greater legacy than even Jesus 2.0 (Onyx Edition). That's it - that's why this all happened (largely unreported) and why everyone is miserable - to feed an old man's anxiety about having a small pp that doesn't work anymore.

From the perspective of the oligarchs really running this shitshow of an administration, Kamala Harris' drinking problem is a plus. Drunks are more malleable, more easily manipulated--you know, in the way elderly Alzheimer's patients are easily manipulated. (Been there, done that.)
All those backroom wheeler-dealers want is a plausible puppet. Harris, while not perfect for their purposes, suits nicely. Humans were not meant to subsist on plants! Posted by: The Central Scrutinizer at August We are omnivores. Our bodies are quite good at telling us what we need and what we are lacking. Really young children have this down. We train it out of them (eat everything on your plate or no dessert!) or it gets trained out due to foods available and being pushed. As adults, we ignore it for fad diets or because we have gone so long with the ignore, we don’t recognize the signs. Think about it- you are told to drink x number of glasses of water. Truth is, you should drink when you are thirsty. You are told to eat this or that, truth is you need a variety of foods if you are otherwise healthy. So much more here, but I feel like I dominate conversations like this so I am going to practice being quieter. Posted by: Piper at August 19, 2024 03:16 PM (pZEOD) 270

This election reminds me more and more of 1992. None of the DemonRat big shots wanted to run against Bush 41, because he was invincible after the 1991 Gulf War.
Add in a 3rd party candidate and full court press lies about the economy and voilà, we got the satanic Clintons for the next 32 years. The Deep State learned its lesson from 1992, as Hillary and Bill became too powerful and, dare I say, at least functionally competent, for the Deep State to control them completely. Fast forward to 2024. No Donk hotshot wants to run, and a third party candidate will pull in a lot of votes from Harris as well as Trump. We have the same endless MSM lies against Trump. But this time the Deep State has chosen two utterly incompetent low-functioning imbeciles as their candidates, who can be completely controlled after Cheat 2.0 installs them in office. We are fucked. Posted by: Soothsayer, Hee/hee at August 19, 2024 03:22 PM (h0F3f) Saw "ALIEN: Romulus" this weekend. No real Spoilers; Still a bit kinda sorta spoilery. Basically, it took bites out of the first 4 ALIEN movies, and blended them together, ultimately, focussing most heavily on 1 & 4. And, unfortunately, Romulus is being used as a bridge to bring Ridley Scott's terrible "Prometheus" crapola back into play, so expect that as the next movie. On the upside: TJM will be thrilled with the prospect of more "Prometheus" ahead. I rate the ALIEN movies in the order 1, 2, 3 Romulus, 4, rest of the crap. Romulus starts out great but surprisingly loses steam when it should just get going. The Xenomorph itself plays a shockingly reduced role, which IMO is a mistake. Check it out. Or don't. CARB - can't drive trucks older than model year 2011, and the new electronic emissions controls on new trucks makes them prone to breakdowns. UBER - Can't be an independent trucker in California and can't visit container ship ports. JAB - up until 2022 had to have the Jab to drive trucks in California. The Transportation Secretary had the ships park further out to see so you can't see them from the coast, to make the problem invisible and alternate east coast ports are not efficient and require a trip around South America. Don't believe it. Kamala is their choice of puppet. She wasn't selected for VP by accident. They knew Biden was on borrowed time and none of this with Kamala is spontaneous. As I am wont to say, all this talk of "factions" and yet with a solitary drumbeat, they deliver a single creepy unblemished message. Through every media outlet. * Yellowstone -- there wasn't one. I liked Jimmy / Saul in Better Call Saul, but he was not likable because he was a decent human being. His attitude of "I tried playing things your way and got little or no credit for doing so, so 'up yours'" Posted by: Krebs v Carnot: Epic Battle of the Cycling Stars (TM) at August 19, 2024 *** I can't think of one either. Fascinating characters it had, esp. Walter White; and he may have started his journey into the meth world to provide for his family, but it didn't end up that way. But not likeable, no. Hard to diagnose someone as an alcoholic from a distance. I had a professor who seemed somewhat inebriated in class. However, it turned out . . . well, yeah, that person was an alcoholic, and mid-semester went to a retreat or clinic something to dry out. Never mind.

She didn't make it out of the early stages of the Primaries. So, not Obama's pick...
though Obama may have been her Champion for the VP? He knows the steal will likely be much harder for Kamala than it would have been for others. And she brings no Electoral Votes with her that the Dems don't already have. Joe Biden is venal and aggressive (that's BEFORE the dementia). His legacy was completely shredded by this move / coup. I really don't think he cares about her chances at all. Posted by: garrett at August 19, 2024 03:45 PM (UQoZh) ---- --- Yeah, Obama gave up on her like everybody else in 2020, but I think picking Harris for VP was definitely his influence as part of Biden winning the SC primary. Posted by: Oldcat ----------------- It was an awkward time. Crossing the streams: Went carnivore two years ago. The preceding sixteen years were spent drinking hard: one to two handles a week of 90-proof.
No booze on carnivore. After dropping about fifty pounds, I figured it would be ok to have a drink every now and then. I had become a total lightweight, prone to killer hangovers after just one drink. After a year of carnivore, I got to where I have to force a drink down. I'll nurse a shot for a couple of hours in a social situation after almost twenty years of pouring myself four to six ounces at 5pm sharp every night just to get started. Turns out they just discovered that brain cells suffering insulin resistance can feed on acetate in the bloodstream. Remember that shit about how alcohol kills brain cells? Seems it can do the opposite. Posted by: biteme at August 19, 2024 04:05 PM (xWS9V) 520

Alcoholism and stupidity are not mutually exclusive. I know lots of alcoholics who are morons. In many cases, the two conditions are mutually supporting. Do you know anyone who gets smarter the more alcohol they consume? Yah, me neither.
