The Saturday Night Joke

True Love! (H/T Sharon (Willow's apprentice)

*****

Saturday night ONT, an effort to be lighthearted yet educational. Here is an interesting video on hornet extermination. I for one wouldn't want to be standing on any ladder while doing this. YMMV.

*****

I've been to Red Lake County, it's really not that bad.

*****

Feeling exotic? Want to go to a country with great beaches? Well you can go to Spain. I prefer to stay here.

This Country Has the Most Clean Beaches in the World — and They're All Gorgeous

Next time you need an excuse to go on a beach vacation, just remember that the very act of being around water is scientifically proven to be good for you. As a paper published in the Journal of Environmental Psychology reported, just looking at a body of water can make you feel more relaxed and actually lower both your heart rate and your blood pressure. And while just about any body of water has the power to put your mind at ease for your next waterside getaway, why not visit some of the cleanest beaches on Earth?

*****

The ONT Musical Interlude & Antacid Tablet Emporium

Morale booster? Or cruel and unusual punishment? You be the judge.

*****

Do you think Irwin Mainway was behind this? For you young whippersnappers, get off my lawn.

*****

How about a Saturday Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

The 8-year-old daughter of the man managing Big Discount Liquor in Maplewood, Minnesota, leapt into action when he took on an assailant at the store late Saturday evening. She picked up a metal baseball bat and whacked the would-be robber in the nuts.

There are Genius Award Winners. And then again there are Genius Award Winners.

THIS is the pathetic moment a clumsy arsonist managed to set himself on fire as he tried to burn down a barbershop.

Police are now on the hunt for the idiot thug and his partner after the bungling blunder was caught on CCTV.

Tonight's ONT has been brought to you by Proof Reading.

On the other hand he referred to Kamala as "Crackling while the economy burned", so he will do his darnedest to get everyone else to say it, at least in the privacy of their own minds.

I transplanted a paper-wasp nest into a mailbox I have in my garden (on the hope that wasps will colonize it) so they will eat my garden pests. they get really anxious when I am around them when it is hot out, but in the mornings they are pretty mellow.

216 The young Mädchen that ruined a brute's wedding tackle with a deftly-handled aluminum bat is commendable. I do not find it unlikely that she is of Teutonic heritage, since this is a long-honored and rigorously observed tradition among my countrymen. It may be employed to greet someone, to say goodbye, to ask the time, or to seek directions, amidst a wealth of other usages. Deutschland has endeavored for decades to get it added to the roster of Olympic competitions, and numerous scholarships are available for those willing to let an aluminum bat to do their communication for them. Bismarck was a notable advocate of the practice, and made considerable use of it in the proceedings of the Reichstag. Before the Brothers Grimm applied their censorship, Hansel and Gretel, having shoved an Angela Merkel type witch into a fiery stove, made their way homeward with great joy and gleefulness and greeted their weak father with a storm of aluminum bat strikes, and then sold their evil stepmother to Serbians, who will literally buy everything. This is reflected in the original title of the tale, "The Two Merry Children Who Rendered Their Pitiful Father A Melancholy Eunuch."

Make an M80-style firecracker by rolling up about 2 ounces of black powder real tight in newspaper, with a fuse, of course. After sunset, when the bastards are all in the nest, stuff the firework into the hole in the bottom of the nest, trapping them in there. Light the fuse, and run away. There will be an Earth-shattering Kaboom! And the hornets will be gone. I have done this. It works. All that was left was a huge cloud of confetti, made of nest paper, newspaper, and hornet wings.

246 For reasons uncertain, my previous comment reminded me of a conversation Werner had with beloved auteur of the perverse French, Alfred Hitchcock. We were in a discussion on the pitfalls of following the cinematic Muse, and Hitch made the assertion that "Actors are like cattle." This, Werner understands, is a remark Al made on numerous occasions. I was stirred to respond most vehemently. "You are wrong, Limey obesity hobbyist! Cattle actually serve a useful purpose!" He had no response to this. Writhing on the floor with his naughty bits having been exploded with the aluminum bat I always, like all Germans, carry, he found conversing difficult. Ja, maybe that is why I thought of it. This seems possible. When word of this spread through the wretched hive of scum and villiany that is Tinseltown, the winsome Tippi Hedren sent me a nice fruit basket, with a note in her beautiful calligraphy thanking me for "making Hitch your bitch." It rhymed, so how could Werner not like it? Werner's early career was more fraught than he should like to think. Ach.

The opportunity could also involve opening an Alumni Cookie Dough spot in each location with the sandwich shop.

Aside from the exciting new partnership with Knuckies Hoagies, Walmart has made it part of its mission to expand further into different food offerings than the most unhealthy options.

The company has expanded food shops in hundreds of other stores in 2024 alone. Earlier this year, it announced a partnership with Mr. Gatti's Pizza across 90 stores. As well, an exciting new Poke location will join several locations as well.

But that was back when malls were the hub shopping game in town. Once malls started dying due to a combination of factors, a lot of iconic stores went with them. B. Dalton's, Spencer's Gifts, Hickory Farms (and the free samples), a cafeteria chain (Luby's/S&W's/etc.) and more. Oh well. With my luck, there's always that one with insomnia.

The electric box out back of the old house has mud-daubers annually nesting there. Big nest. If I have to get in there, I first open it up and clobber them with Raid... and run. Kinda hate to. Mud-daubers are the least aggressive. They may be dominating - rarely see the red wasps anymore, and (knock on wood) haven't seen a yellow jacket in years.

Don't seem to have the d@mn3d horse flies as much as we did when I was a kid... or maybe I'm just not outside as much as back then. Man, they hurt.

Depending on the intesirty, from annoying to frightening. Anything above F-3 headed one's way, move inland. Remember Hurricane Camille, 1969. Hit the Gulf Coast @ 150 mph, flattened parts of MS and ended up flooding Richmond, VA.

It's high winds over a sustained period (depending on the speed of the storm), with some prolonged gusts over 100. There's a sound to a direct hit, even a good brush. Then there's the rain coming down in torrential sheets, easily flooding any areas prone to that. If you happen to be more of a direct hit, there's all the above with the added bonus of a good storm surge; 10 to 20 feet is not uncommon. So wind, rain and water. And most likely no electricity. Lots of fun. Board up and go inland.

His eyes bugged out as he recalled that night. "The walls was shakin! I thought I wuz gonna die right then!". Then something about seeing a big hunk of roof just flying right by.

I thought of the AC/DC "Shook me all night long" lyrics. The walls was shakin', the earth was quakin'.....shook me all night long.

Other worthy alternatives: "Jackal Ejecta," "Village Bicycle," "Gentle Ben," "Maid From Nantucket," "Cognitively Challenged Non-Lesbian Space Witch," or "Ralph."

Werner offers these for consideration. The poor soul who shall have to blazon the heraldry for her coat of arms has my pity.

Re the Thing in the Woods. There is something strange going on.

Earlier this evening, some near neighbors were having some sort of Hillbilly Hootenanny going on. There was much shooting, sounded high caliber (lots of $$$), and some fireworks, I think. Some of those booms, if they were firearms would've had to be > 0.50 caliber, I think.

I think alcohol was involved too. Well, I just went out a few minutes ago, and heard the god-awfulest sound through the woods. Don't know if it was human or animal, but it sounded like somebody puking his guts out big time, I mean power-puking. "BUUUURRAARRAGH!!!!!". 421 The Ark can't be in Washington, now. Considering what a Den of Iniquity, Perfidy, and Perversion it has become, DC would be burned to the ground in the presence of such a Holy Artifact.

The Ark of the Covenant disappeared during the destruction of the First Temple era, when the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem. There are all sorts of theories of what happened to it.

One is it was hidden deep underground, and the Knights Templar discovered it and took it away. Another is that it wound up in Ethiopia due some union and children with Solomon and the Queen of Sheba.

428 Re the location of the "Lost Ark" of the Covennat, in the Ethiopian tradition:

https://tinyurl.com/ya8ncdhy

This theory holds that the Lost Ark is in little chapel/church in Ethiopia. It is a "Thing of Fire" according to the tradition. One does not mess with the Ark. If one does, one will die.

This theory hold that the Ark, the Thing of Fire, is per Divine Will, being held there until the End of Time. God does now wish it to be revealed until the End, but it will stay there until that time.

It is truly a "Thing of Fire". One does not look, touch, or be in the presence of, unless God Almighty deems it so.

431 ctHARRIS/forWAR'd -- you too will learn to pronounce both properly, or else.

forWAR'd:: definition. More of the same, endless wars both internal and external, where LIBs PROUDLY do upon their own, precisely what they forbid you to do to America's adversaries.

The War on Normal people is reaching its penultimate conclusion -- you WILL no only sponsor your Adversaries, but be required BY LAW to actively Defend them --your rights are provisional at best, whereas the Will of the People is in evidence everywhere, yet existant in NO ONE.

A Free and Productive people have NOTHING to gain from War, and , in fact, a great deal to lose.
