The Morning Report — 7/11/24

SorosandHuma.jpg

Good Morning Kids. Love is in the air. Former squeeze of Carlos Danger is now engaged to be married to the son of George Soros.

One can only ponder the comingling of this DNA, figuratively if not literally. Meh, it's Romanoffs and Battenberg/saxe-Coburgs 2.0.
As Joey Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants' future as the Democrat standard-bearer circles the drain, will he suck those in his orbit as well as the Democrat Party in general down with him?

As I mused in yesterday's column, will the LIV crowd and perhaps reflexive-Democrat voters see Biden's decrepitude for what it represents: the criminality and complete moral vacuity of that entire party, as well as the media and cultural institutions that sustained it for not just the past almost four years but really for decades? Maybe that's too much to hope for. Deeply ingrained beliefs and worldviews are difficult to change, to say the least.

And yet, the dementia and soiled Depends don't necessarily penetrate the senses of the aforementioned more than a destroyed economy, erased borders, rampant crime and a world on the verge of all out war. Can Tina finally understand that Ike's fist in her face is not an expression of love.

Interesting poll showing that NY State of all places might be giving the Dems agita.
No, I don't expect the Empire State to flip to Trump come November, regardless of who the Dems have running, and yet if it forces them to have to waste resources on some place that is or should be in the bag for them, all the better. And you have to wonder about other solidly Democrat states (NJ? CT?) as well. Of course, the cheat machine is their insurance policy. Still, as I continue to ponder, if their base and their election machinery are still solid, then why all the panic about Biden in the first place? Why go through this public sturm und drang, even with a wholly owned propaganda machine. I can't figure that out.

Is there trouble in workers paradise on earth? Regardless, we are in for a bumpy ride. Until and way beyond November.

6 >>And you have to wonder about other solidly Democrat states (NJ? CT?) as well.

I don't think landslides are functionally possible any longer, if Trump wins, it's going to be by the slimmest of margins and he's going to need some assist from a couple of Governors.

I'm looking at a possible 270 to 271 EC votes as a realistic scenario.

If Trump wins NJ, I'll eat my hat.

7 France is a powder keg. So are we in many ways but Americans have more areas to move to to escape the troubles ahead. We always hear the reasons why people can’t move, but they should move and they should move now. Even if Trump wins, it’s going to be worse than the last time and I lived in a blue city the the last time and it was bad. They are going to resist they are going to riot, even if Trump wins. If you don’t live in a red area, I advise you to move to one soon.

I do doubt the election will be that close electorally. But the way conservatives have consistently been let down in this country and abroad I don’t trust anything anymore. It is great if you will crawl over glass to vote for Trump, but the key is to bring three other people with you.

10 Holy crap, Huma is Muslim Brotherhood, and now she'll be tapping into the Soros billions!

https://tinyurl.com/3tt43jwj
Abedin “has three family members — her late father, her mother and her brother — connected to Muslim Brotherhood operatives and/or organizations.” It turns out, however, that Abedin herself is directly connected to Abdullah Omar Naseef, a major Muslim Brotherhood figure involved in the financing of al-Qaeda. Abedin worked for a number of years at the Institute for Muslim Minority Affairs as assistant editor of its journal. The IMMA was founded by Naseef, who remained active in it for decades, overlapping for several years with Abedin. Naseef was also secretary general of the Muslim World League in Saudi Arabia, perhaps the most significant Muslim Brotherhood organization in the world. In that connection, he founded the Rabita Trust, which is formally designated as a foreign terrorist organization under American law due to its support of al-Qaeda. . .

Some good comments at the link. Essentially:

No one is scared of a small group of American military and support staff, especially when they announce their presence for self-promotion and advertising purposes, and especially when they know they're not going to do anything.

A few hundred marines aren't invading Iran. A half dozen jets aren't attacking Hezbollah.

They're likely there to evacuate some state department / government assets if need be and that's it.

It turns out that the math behind EVs doesn’t compute.

I'm looking into a battery powered self propelled lawnmower. The math really works out well on that. I have a solar panel and battery storage to recharge the mower battery so zero cost for fuel. But even if I had to charge from home electric it would cost less then .25 cent per cutting. Currently I use about a gallon of $3.75 gasoline per week.

'Greenworks' makes some great batteries and battery propelled outdoor tools. But if you're getting older and have a tired internal combustion mower lie I do, it makes sense. I receive no remuneration for my endorsement.

19 More:
Specifically, Ms. Abedeen was affiliated with the Institute of Muslim Minority Affairs, where she was assistant editor of the Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs. The journal was the IMMA’s raison d’etre. Abedin held the position of assistant editor from 1996 through 2008 — from when she began working as an intern in the Clinton White House until shortly before she took her current position as Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s deputy chief of staff. . .
Not long after the journal started, Naseef became the secretary general of the Muslim World League, the Saudi-financed global propagation enterprise by which the Muslim Brotherhood’s virulently anti-Western brand of Islamist ideology is seeded throughout the world, very much including in the United States. . .
The MWL manages the “civilization jihad” — the Brotherhood’s commitment to destroy the West from within, and to “conquer” it by sharia proselytism.

I've been using the same Greenworks 40 volt battery for five years in my pole trimmer, chain saw, and leaf blower. If I buy this mower I'll have another battery and it should run for an hour and a half before they need recharging. Their stuff is solid. I wouldn't risk it if they weren't.

I bought a Lowes house brand (Kobalt?) on massive clearance a couple of years ago entirely to allow the son to learn to cut the grass. It has been great and done the teaching job fine, but I doubt that the original $400 or would ever justify itself at regular purchase price unless you had other motivations like noise.

But I would recommend Kobalt if you're in the market. Probably easy to return if it's not suitable, too.

For sure, he has issues, but I don’t see the most common things I know about Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Most people deal with these things in their family and they are things they see up close. For sure, Biden has an illness, but his family themselves deny it. That is the big thing here it should be the family that recognizes it not us. In this case, it seems the family does not care.

If you’ve ever experienced Alzheimer’s up close, you would notice it in a second once you know what it is like you will never forget it. I’m not going to say whether he has it or not because I simply don’t see it exactly the way I have experienced it. When a guy goes up to another random stranger because he thinks he knows him that is a classic Alzheimer’s experience.

For sure, Biden has something there’s no question about that. But I’m not gonna say he Has Y just because I saw him on TV. It is obvious he has something, and even if he was in his best mind, he would still be horrible and we should still vote against him.

61 "A civic life shaped by Christianity" always begins prettily enough, and always ends with "And therefore you must do as I say."

The most pharisaical man I know recently demanded of his mother why she had no tattoos. I helpfully offered up Leviticus 19 on her behalf. His answer was that all those old laws were made up by pharisees, and only the New Testament matters. Then I had to say that the Ten Commandments don't appear in the NT, and he was fine with that. Yes, his son is gay -- why would you ask? And he's on a congregation's council, too.

'America's conflicts' are not political, ideological or religious. They're just roving bands of snide assholes trying to get their finger-wagging in while not pledging allegiance to anything that might break up their junior-chamber-of-commerce social club or require them to give up any habits they've gotten attached to.

Yeah, I think there are use scenarios where they make sense. A friend comes to borrow it to mow around his swimming pool because it's very precise and has a bagger and is easy to maneuver around obstacles. A half acre or so with a house in the middle? Probably perfect for that sort of thing.

We've got some land and no need for precision so ours doesn't get much use beyond "go do your chores."

That said, the battery powered weedeater is wholly inadequate for country life. It takes three batteries to do a proper job, and that would probably get you up into $700+.

While discussing the conditions for an American withdrawal from Afghanistan, Trump said, “If you harm a hair on a single American, I’m gonna kill you.” Then he handed him a satellite photograph of the chief’s house, and walked out of the room. Not a single American died in Afghanistan during the following 18 months.

The lesson is, deterrence depends on credibility. The enemy whose behavior you want to change has to believe that lethal consequences will follow a warning if ignored. We have lost that credibility, and Joe Biden’s disastrous foreign policy blunders, and our weakened power of deterrence are the wages of that lost prestige.

Biden and his team are scolds. Worthless, weak scolds and lecturers.

115 The EU has always been a huge scam. The French wanted to use the economic power of a politically inept Germany to enhance French political power. Germany is probably more flaccid than they have ever been but now they have their own revolt., Not the original design, but what it became was the French trying to punch above their weight, which is something they have always done, but they wanted to be the equals of the US when It came to international political power.

I see a lot of that unraveling, at least the EU is more widespread and the new members aren’t interested in enhancing French political power. The reason the loss of Le pen Is so bad is the so-called conservatives in France that predated her were the ones who were the biggest fans of the EU and being a counterbalance to the US. I might’ve missed that, but I don’t think that was huge in Le Pen’s plans.

It's only after I got my portable solar panel and storage battery that I started 'doing the math' on how little electricity it took to recharge my 40 volt battery. The difference between a gallon of gasoline (under the Biden administration) and the mere pennies to recharge the battery was an eye-opener.

I plug the battery and charger in with the battery at 98% capacity and when it was finished it had dropped down to 91% capacity. At my electric costs the battery holds .40 cents worth of electricity. Seven percent of .40 cents is peanuts.

I still think that EV cars are bad idea, especially in my climate zone. But other stuff is starting to make sense, even save money after a few years. If people can cut a half acre lawn for about five cents of electricity, that's a pretty big deal.

I’m no theologian but my understanding is that the Christian understanding is that God’s moral law as given in the Pentateuch should be followed by a disciple of Christ but that the ceremonial law (sacrificing of animals etc) no longer applies since Christ was the ultimate sacrifice. Paul in Romans 6 basically says: just because you’ve received grace doesn’t mean you can keep sinning.

The tricky part I suppose is trying to figure out which parts of the Old Testament are ceremonial vs moral…

171 The primary Democrat cheat in the past has been to "count" black votes that were never actually cast. Remember in 2016 when the Green party candidate asked for a recount in Michigan, and a ballot box in Detroit was recounted. The box said there were 500 votes, but when they opened it there were only 50. That is a typical Democrat cheat.

The erosion of black voters to Trump is a disaster for the Democrats because those people will actually vote. That is why we got so many illegal aliens. The Dems saw that coming and are using the illegals to make up their plausible fraud numbers.

Back in a former life, I studied that country deeply. I probably took five different college courses on Russia. The thing about Russia, I learned is the only thing they give to anyone is pain. 184 The black vote for Republicans always disappoints. If you go back over several elections Republicans have gained in the polls, but what happens at the actual ballot box is less than that.

They are saying we are winning Hispanics and that is possible but how hard are they going to vote? Are they going to vote like a maga voter? If we are simply exchanging Hispanic votes and black votes for white suburban, women who is exactly more likely to vote? I know what I think and I know we better bust our ass to get out the vote because a lot of the groups not just the ones I’ve mentioned are often among the less likely voters. It was normal in the past for Democrats to be less likely to vote, but now I think it’s more likely for a lot of the people that Trump has brought in to be more likely, Unlikely voters.

187 God's lesson for all of history up until the death of Jesus on the cross was this:

You can not perform works to make yourself righteous in the eyes of God. Adam, Enoch, Seth, Enoch, Methuselah, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jocob, Levi, Moses- were ALL sinners before there was the Law, and were all deemed righteous before God by his sovereign grace.
With the law, these very specific directions on how to make yourselves righteous, no man was ever able to follow them. Because immediately after a sacrifice, the mind wanders to sin, and new atonement is required.
Only the death of Jesus was sufficient to atone for the sin of man.

231 Technically, yes. Once God has granted you salvation, he does not revoke it. You can go out and murder and rape and worship other gods as much as you want to.

232 >>Agreed. Bad word choice on my part.

Wasn't intended directly at you, more of a general statement. It's one of my problems with groups like NATO which implies that whatever is good for once country is necessarily good for all.

Countries like the US are too big with far too many interests in a variety of ways for us ever to have permanent allies or friends. Our allegiance is to our people and then to people who benefit our people. Anything else is romantic bs.

We've spend decades since WWII in various degrees of hostility with Russia and look at where we are today. And that can largely be tied to our relationship with NATO. We should be looking for ways to peacefully coexist with Russia not antagonize them and war should only be a last resort not a strategic weapon for wealth.

304 I think there is a lot of BS in the polling, it allows for higher revenues for news outlets when elections are "close", and allows for plausible cheat margins.

They've been 50/50 for 20 years now, since the widespread advent of electronic voting machines, mostly. I don't know how they do it, but I've long suspected they have queered the elections for a long time. Americans have their share of stupid people like anyplace else, but it strains credulity that the political cycle, the ebb and flow that is characteristic has been repealed. Outside of the large metro areas, leftists should have a bounty on their head, they are that toxic to normal, decent peaceable people from all walks of life.

312 Didn’t the Russians try capitalism and they stole everything so everyone turned against it?

------

I'd argue that they didn't.

The privatization of East Germans public property was certainly troubled and corrupt, but in large part, they acquiesced to letting Western firms asset strip the entire "country" in return for discharging its debts and repurposing whatever was salvageable. East German share of Germany's GDP consequently doubled over the last 30 years, and now sits at around 80% of the West's.

By contrast, the Russians just whacked it all up and handed it off to crony oligarchs who could be counted upon to kowtow to the Kremlin - consequently, 30- some years later, one of the world's largest industrialized countries has a GDP smaller than the state of Texas.

Their thing was not an attempt at capitalism. Just a gangster snowjob.

I guess you didn't read the rest of what I wrote.

You can murder as much as you want to. But your desire to murder is 0. But even then, because we are all sinners, as Paul spends unlimited time explaining, Gods forgiveness is limitless.

If a saved person sins, what greater atonement can be made than what has already been offered in the death of Christ?

God does not make distinctions in sin, and even the thought of sin is the same as committing the act. Not me saying that, God says so in the scriptures. Think about lusting after your neighbors wife, murder, all sin. All the same. All are forgiven. But for the saved, your desire to do so is 0. And if you are out there living a life of sin, you probably just mouthed the magic words and thought you were in the club.

376 The lovely and globe-trotting Mrs naturalfake and I just got back from a vacay in Spain.

It was a lovely country, with great food, and good folk.

But, man, their history is a pretty clear rhyme from the past that we're about to see in Europe, esp France..

The muslims basically conquered Spain in five years and stayed for roughly 8 centuries. Churches were destroyed or converted into mosques then when the Christians finally drove out the muslims, they returned the favor and convert mosques into churches and/or castles.

Those 8 centuries left Spain a bit cucked with regard to islam. And it's happening again, in real time.

Weird it's its own way cuz the history of it all is right before there eye every day.

Sadly hilarious.

379 A license for what? Half of this country has constitutional carry now or you don’t need a permit even to carry concealed. Other states require a concealed carry permit, but that is mostly an administrative thing and if you do the steps, you will get one.

Only a few states require a license for a gun. I personally would say don’t live in that state. I’m not saying this lightly I literally don’t live there.

380 >>I honestly think the JEF wanted Harris in there. *biden was a consolation prize when Harris imploded during the primaries. I also think Obama really thought *biden wouldn't make it this far. He probably knew more about *biden's dementia than anyone outside *biden's own family.

Remember how long it took Obama to endorse Biden in 2020? He even told him "Joe, you don't have to do this." He didn't want Biden to run because he knew.

But as you say he had no choice. The rest all blew up on the launch pad. And now he knows Joe is not just going to lose but lose in a landslide and take down ballot races with him.

When you rely on cheating and lying and weaponizing government against your opponents sooner or later things catch up with you.

The idea that a sitting president running for reelection can't hold a massive outdoor campaign rally.
The idea that his staff has to feed the "media" questions in advance.
The idea his wife has to lead him off the stage like an invalid.
The idea that he can't even walk up the main stairs to Air Force One.
The idea that his offspring is a convicted felon.
The idea that we're this close to the election and there's a strong move within his own party to scuttle his candidacy.
The very idea!

467 I just listened to the latest "You're Wrong" podcast. If anything, Mollie was even better than usual. (Harsanyi doesn't matter. On his best day he's Abbot or Burns.)

She said, among other things, that Biden should hire a food taster. So we have two candidates, both of whom the Democrat establishment would like to assassinate. Interesting times.

She also nailed it on abortion; destroying the narrative of the wets. And here again, though strictly sound himself, Harsanyi just believes what the standard narrative is about pro lifers. She stomped on that.

For some time Mollie has been my top choice among the punditry (sorry, Ace.) Her one weakness is the belief that there was a time when journalism was honest.

468 By contrast, the Russians just whacked it all up and handed it off to crony oligarchs who could be counted upon to kowtow to the Kremlin - consequently, 30- some years later, one of the world's largest industrialized countries has a GDP smaller than the state of Texas.

Unlike the West where decades of corruption have seen governments shovel money at their pet oligarchs allowing them to buy up more companies and expand to more sectors of the economy thereby accomplishing the same thing.

510 If Weiner hadn't been caught in Memorial Day Weekend 2011 - most likely if he'd waved his lil' Weiner at an actual honeypot - we could be looking at him as a candidate about now.
The House is too small for his straining schvanz so Weiner becomes Senator in 2014, replacing that lightweight and blatant placeholder Gillibrand. Or Mayor of New York (not Governor, the Cuomos keep that).
Hillary of course runs in this timeline. If she wins (b/c butterfly effect) she's either there 2017-21 or else she's there now.
2024 is Weiner's time to shine. To really let it all out there.

517 Whitmer’s most recent statement came as actor George Clooney wrote an op-ed withdrawing his support of Biden as the Democrat Party’s nominee, weeks after holding a fundraiser for him.

Whitmer and the Democrats in Michigan have also fortified Michigan for whoever is the Democrat candidate in 2024 and for the foreseeable future with the recent bill signed into law.

https://bit.ly/4f1Uurh

NEW: Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signs bills into law stopping recounts based on allegations of election fra*d.

Whitmer has stripped the Board of Canvassers of its investigative authority. Any election fra*d claims now go to a county prosecutor, who will undoubtedly bury the case.

A recount now is only carried out in cases where there are purported 'mistakes' that have the potential to alter the outcome of the election.

It also revises numerous rules for clerks, raises the deposit to file a recount petition, and alters the guidelines for election law violations.
